Honestly it’s not bad. I have the service a slightly lower rating because this is basically self-service. My wife and I came in for an early dinner and got the chicken fried steak to share. I asked for a blue cheese side salad and got ranch.
Okay. I guess they’re both white.
My chicken fried steak was okay. Not terrific, but did the job. My wife got the Louie seafood salad. It turned out to be a larger side salad with some shrimp on top. Again, not a deal breaker but not exactly a $20 dish. Everything came with bread and we got some water.
So here’s the skinny. For a “steakhouse” that’s basically self-service, pay at the counter, this isn’t what I was expecting. The seating is basically cafeteria style but the prices (imply) more service. If you just wanted a quiet meal and didn’t want to pay for the tip, because why would you, this is your place. Tad’s usually isn’t full and you could potentially stay a while, so it could be what you’re looking for. If you want any service at all, then this may not be your cup of tea.
Let me be clear. Absolutely nothing wrong with Tad’s Steakhouse. If you are looking for a 4/5 meal, this is it. It’s tasty and quick.
