Great beer and fish fries in a great location! My husband and I went there after a long hike around the fall and it felt so rewarding to have their beer and food. Not just because we did hike but their quality is really good. They had salmon fries as their special menu on the day we went by $20. We ordered it and it served enough for two haha The food came pretty quickly too after the beer. I'd love to come back just to have their savory fish fries and beer! So good.

We stopped in here for some dinner during our motorcycle ride. We didn't have to wait long to be seated or to place our orders. The food came pretty quick and was tasty. We ordered the Chicken Cordon Blue bites which were amazing and I ordered a BBQ Chicken sandwich with fries, it was pretty tasty.

Google
A busy restaurant but totally worth the wait! Lots of art decorations on the walls to look at, you can also buy some of them. Great draft beer. I had the spinach ravioli which were super delicious, like at an expensive Italian place. Hubby loved the steak which comes with caramelized onions and a house salad. All the staff are hard working and welcoming.

Google
Great place to eat before or after your hike to the falls. Great selection of beer, although the drafts tasted a bit watered down ( i ordered a black bear stout). The service was excellent, our waitress Stacey ,was kind, attentive, and very diligent with multiple tables not just mine.(Thank you Stacey!) Enjoyable for both adults and kids, plenty of seating and a warm atmosphere. The price is unexpectedly high for what would otherwise be a regular meal. A simple burger is $20, if you upgrade to their fries. Kids meals start at $12-$16, and their steaks and entrees are in the $30 range, so expect a $80-$100 meal for 4 people including drinks (drafts are $7). Taste wise it is excellent, you know what you're getting. It is a great tourist area so if you're planning a vacation, definitely come on in for a good drink and a quick bite.

We stopped in here after walking the Falls Trails and the gift shop. The outdoor area looked very inviting but it was to windy and chilly yet to sit out there. We went in and did not feel welcome at all. No one else was there and we had to wait to be seated. The hostess seemed to not know what she was doing. We felt we were imposing. But we placed an order and were wonderfully surprised at the quality, taste and presentation of the food! I had the Italian Hoagie and my hubs had the Pub Burger. We both loved our choices. Kudos to the chef! Excellent.

Google
We had a large party of people and they were able to seat us in less than 20 minutes during a busy time. The food was very good but it was the service that was just outstanding!

Google
Visited from the lower peninsula with our dog. Reviews said dog friendly patio but no table service so we were prepared to order to go. Sign above the patio ordering window said cash only, use atm. I paid a $4 ATM fee and pulled out $200. Got back to the window to order only to be told the kitchen was closed to dine-in customers only. But "don't worry, there's a concession stand right there". Instead of a presumably tasty bison burger, whitefish spread etc we had to settle for overpriced hot dogs and a pretzel. After driving for hours we were excited to visit this brewery, we left pretty disappointed and they lost out on $100+. Inside of the restaurant wasn't even busy. Saturday at 2 pm, if you can't handle summer traffic hire more people? Also only 4 beers to choose from. Bummer.

Google
The food was delicious! Get the pastie! Our wait staff, a lovely woman from South Dakota, was so lovely to talk to! We weren't expecting such a great place at the Falls, it was a great surprise!

Yelp
Located closest to the Upper Falls, this Brewpub is a lifesaver for the hangry hiker. I visited on an off-peak day and off-peak time and it was packed. Luckily there were seats open at the bar within 5 minutes of my arrival. My advice is to look at the menu ahead of time and order as soon as possible if you are hungry. Heads up - not allergen friendly. Ordered a beer and appetizer - it took about 20 minutes to get chicken strips but they were so, so good! The bartender/waitress was... well.... I was cool with her, but she came off a bit brass and I could see how some may find her rude (like the older couple next to me). They have a super cute gift shop inside specific to the brewery, and another gift shop for the Falls/general area adjacent to the brewery. It's a bit of a tourist trap - to be expected.

Yelp
More than once near the end of a hot, dusty hike, I've said to my companions, "I wish there was a bar back at the trailhead." Here, the wish came true. TFB&P offers cold housemade beers and a host of other adult and all-ages beverages and a large selection of food, and we were so happy they did. After my wife and I did the falls trail in both directions in August heat, the idea of cooking dinner had no appeal at all. Beer selection is small--four total. We tried their wheat and their pale ale and preferred the latter. Not the most flavorful versions of these we've had, but satisfying enough after a long day on the trail. We both ordered the whitefish sandwich and enjoyed it--the fillet is quite large and wasn't greasy in the least. My wife got the fries and liked them, while I splurged on onion rings, which were surprisingly good. Our server told me as she set my plate down that that kitchen hadn't given me enough and she would bring more---there were actually enough for a decent side portion though less than I thought justified the $4 upcharge. But she came back with large plateful, most of which we reheated the next day for an appetizer at our cabin. One of these days we want to do a winter trip to Tahquamenon, and will work in a return visit here.

Yelp
We stopped in mid afternoon and the bar was full so we sat in the dining room. I had the root beer on tap that was delicious. They said it comes in kegs from Minnesota. I ordered the whitefish sandwich without a bun and they broiled it instead of frying it. It came with fries. The fish was delicious. It was a mild fish and well seasoned with salt and pepper. The fries were ok. Service was good. You can eat outside too.

Yelp
We had lunch after peak hours, and experienced great service and great food. I had the special sandwich of the day polish sausage and kraut on a pretzel bun and my husband had the bison burger. Both ordered and served within 20 minutes. Server was attentive and friendly. The ambiance is very "up north" in decor and exceptionally clean. Good experience!

Yelp
At the end of a hike, you can't be coming to this place and grabbing a drink. We looked at the menu but did not end up ordering anything because the menu was not labeled for allergens But it looked cool inside and the raspberry beer was very good

Yelp
Love the ambiance at the brewery! The food was amazing, my husband had their fresh whitefish & I had my first UP pasty! Excellent service also! A definite must stop place to go while you're visiting the Falls!!

Yelp
I will start out saying that while there was a waiting line, it went quick. The dining area is cle and table spacing is very good. We were at our table and our waitress, Vickie, introduced herself and was extremely knowledgeable of the menu. An additional note, our party required gluten free and Vickie was very knowledgeable of this and was able to make wonderful suggestions. Please note the menu doesn't identify much for gluten free, however there have many gluten free meals. Further note, the kitchen got backed up and Vickie let us know...excellent communication! We received our meals not too long after and they are excellent tasting! I had the brew pub sausage sandwich and my date had the beer chicken but it was made for gluten free, she loved it. I highly recommend this restaurant and remember, much more gluten free foods than on the menu.

Yelp
It should be noted, it is directly at the upper falls visitors area/ there are also taco stands and people selling shirts and rocks. It's congested outside. Not much better inside. They are probably busy from the minute they open until closing. That said, service is spotty. They did have the Tag-ABrew tags in the gift shop. Gift shop has lots of offerings of ornaments, apparel, keychains etc I seem to have chosen a sad excuse for wild rice soup. It had zero taste. Lots of salt and pepper barely helped. Hot sauce did help. We also got the smoked fish dip to share, it was okay. The beers were okay, only four to choose from. The Black Bear Stout is a Guinness like quaff. There were two wheats, a cherry and a regular. Both were okay as well, the cherry had a bit of an aftertaste redolent of the flavoring. The other, the Wolverine was better in my opinion. Probably would not go back if if the area again.

Yelp
When you come to the falls plan on staying for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is large and moves the dinners quickly. The facility is nicely decked out in attractive nature decor. You will find the place clean and comfortable to rest from you long trek. The staff is all friendly and very welcoming. They seem like they are genuinely glad you are there. The room is spacious so you feel comfortable. The four person tables are a bit small if you are sharing appetizers with a party of four. My wife had the chicken sandwich with was amazing. The chicken was moist and cooked perfectly. The sautéed onions were cooked in beer so they were very moist. The cheese helped hold the sandwich together. The German mustard sauce pulled the whole sandwich together. Give this sandwich a try as it is excellent!! The onion rings were a bit tough. The onion piece is thin and the breading was great. It had a nice crunch. The pastie was good. The crust was very flakes and slightly moist. The filling tasted like a bland pot pie. It was steaming hot. There was a nice balance of meat and vegetables. The side gravy is very thin and lacked much flavor.

Yelp
Kendra was our server, super sweet & attentive; everything came pretty quickly. My husband ordered a flight of the 4 brews they had on tap but neither of us were a fan. Not to say they weren't good just not our taste I guess. He ordered the white fish broiled with onion rings & rice pilaf; I had the bison burger with sautéed mushrooms & a side of fries. I loved the fish and the bison burger was just ok for me. There was an issue with my food but Kendra got it all taken care of. There's a lot of space to eat inside and art work for sale on the walls (which I bought) or you can order at the window and eat in the courtyard. I think the white fish warrants a stop if you are in the area and maybe you'll like the brew too!

Yelp
First- these are not real bagels. I'm a native New Yorker - and these are not made properly. If you want a faux bagel type experience bc you're desperate or don't know any better- this will do. Bubbies bagels are incredible and only 8 min away! But secondly, and maybe the reason for the low rating - is the people who work here. They are the worst. The times I had to get bagels here (pre-Bubbies) have always been incident filled. Rude, mean or just maybe mentally ill people have made me feel bad, uncomfortable or outaged. It's always something here.. always a mishap or miscommunication. Bleh!

Yelp
We enjoyed a great meal, good drinks, and terrific service in a gorgeous setting. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We were here July 4th weekend and had a pretty unpleasant experience. We were famished after the hike up to the upper falls and sat outside with our pup. I headed inside to order - and was told that this "brewery" only had a single one of their beers on tap. Bizarre. I tried it anyway - not good. We decided on some food, since we had few other options, and it was really quite poor. I opted for the pasty and couldn't have been less impressed, but my partner got a burger she was reasonably pleased with. I felt like it was overall a tourist trap and didn't really care about the quality. An unfortunate case.

Yelp
After hiking the falls in 90 degree heat, we were ELATED to discover there was a brewery right at the falls. We tried a couple of in house brews which was great (highly recommend the blueberry ale) and we shared the pretzels, which were delicious. That cheese dip was on point! I also ordered the white fish special and it was on point as well. Great place to stop and relax for some food and drinks after a busy day at the falls.
google avatar

Yelp
Great beer and a very friendly staff! Loved how close it was to the falls -- absolutely beautiful location
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
When we were getting ready to go stay at Tahquamenon Falls I saw this and told my wife we had to go without actually looking much more into the restaurant. While our server did a great job the overall experience wasn't great. For a brewery there was a limited beer selection, only 3 types, and the menus overall was very expensive. The food was just okay which was disappointing for how much everything cost.

Mikey T.

Yelp
The food and service were very good. We had the cheeseburgers, fries and onion rings. The Bruschetta appetizer is AWESOME
google avatar

Barbara Y.

Yelp
Gave it 4 stars ... the 1 missing star was because of the hostess, Stacey. She was extremely unpleasant and down right rude!! If I do go back, I would walk out if she was the hostess for that day. On another note, our server, Vicki... WOW... can't say enough good things about her. On top of everything, food, drinks She was the best server I have had anywhere! Ask for her, you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Kristina I.

Yelp
When we visited the falls it was raining... thankfully the covered patio area is dog friendly. We were able to sit outside for a bit and enjoy a beer until the rain died down a bit. The Black Bear Stout was good

Bob A.

Yelp
Drove from our house Thursday evening near Mackinaw city to have my birthday dinner and they were closed! It was 7:40 PM, I was always told they were open until 9:00, the website said 8:30. I get the fact they may be slow right now, but at least update your information on the website and internet. Very very upset!

Yelp
Arrived @12:30 on Sunday 7/23. Ordered quickly-The beer chicken grilled sandwich. Several tables ordered ahead of us were served first and the waitress said it takes awhile for chicken to cook opposed to Burgers and fried items. Very good sandwich fries and onion rings.

Chelsey L.

Yelp
Food was cold. Massive hair in food. When confronted the management they were rude and claimed it was our fault. 0/10 do NOT recommend.

J G.

Yelp
We ate here on a Sunday afternoon. It was very busy. My food came out cold and my husband's was burned. Poor service as well. We would have been better off to eat at the window outside the restaurant.

Kelly M.

Yelp
only thing I can review is regarding the hostess. She was so curt, unfriendly, very rude. We went elsewhere.
google avatar

Jessica O.

Yelp
My rating may have been different if we ate here. I am basing my review on the 1 beer I had from the to-go window. On a recent trip to the Falls a group of 3 had planned to stop at the brewery for lunch. It was a really busy, sunny, weekend day so it was pretty busy. We waited in line at the hostess stand for probably only 10 minutes before we were seated. Unfortunately, the table we were given was right by the entrance, and it looked like there were not many gluten free options (the other 2 in my group are both gluten free) so we left to eat at the taco stand outside instead. The dining area is surprisingly small, though there is a decent amount of seating at the bar. I may have even ordered a pasty to eat outside while the rest of my group got tacos, but they were out of pasties that day. Quite disappointing. The outdoor window to order a beer is definitely convenient for the outside area. It's nice to be able to order a beer quickly, rather than having to wait in line inside. Plus, it does give the option of getting other food, or sitting outside, but still being able to enjoy the beer. The window is cash-only, but if they are slow they sometimes will allow credit cards. It's really for efficiency-sake that they are cash only. The lady at the window was very pleasant. The hostess inside seemed a little overwhelmed. The beer list only consisted of 4 choices, 2 of which were wheat beers. It would be nice to have a slightly larger list, and more options to please more people, but the Wolverine Wheat Ale that I had was enjoyable enough. Overall it was fine. I would like to return to eat inside, and hopefully try a pasty.

Cole F.

Yelp
Great food and beer after the falls. I had the pastie and thought it was better than several other places I have tried in the area.
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
Perfect place to grab a beer and a pastie before or after seeing the falls! The total Yooper experience. Pasties + gravy were delicious! Porcupine Pale Ale was spot on. And the smoked fish cream cheese dip appetizer? PHENOMENAL. I had to ask for more crackers (it was served with warm flatbread and crackers) but man, it was delicious! I didn't want to miss a single bite! Staff was friendly. I sat at the bar and there was a new employee because she clearly didn't know how to pour a beer, but everyone was friendly. There was plenty of signage outside that indicated it was air conditioned inside.
google avatar

Krista M.

Yelp
I stopped by the brewery on a trip to Tahquamenon Falls. My service was not great but wasn't terrible either. I ended up sitting at the bar because the host told me they like to keep the tables for parties bigger than 1. (I was by myself) So I sat at the only seat left at the bar. No one served me for a good 10 minutes. The host finally noticed and went and found the bar tender. They didn't have any IPAs but the beer I ordered was ok. I ordered some food to go which also took a while but it was pretty good. It's definitely convenient if you are at the Falls and want a quick beer and some bar food.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
Great stop on the snowmobile trail Just 5 minute walk to view the falls Good food Good beer Great service!

Derf J.

Yelp
The beer was bad. My wife ordered the Wheat Ale. Dude at the adjacent table turned around and said, "Don't order the wheat, it is bad." Then looking at the waitress he said, "It really is. Something is wrong." My wife changed to the Tannin Red Ale that I had ordered. But the server brought her a sample of the wheat anyway. I could smell it was off as she reached past me toward my wife. I tried it - truly tasted awful, maybe soured in fermentation. What kind of place brings the customer a beer that has something wrong with it? In addition, the food was all mediocre. The fries are Brew City brand frozen beer battered fries, and they were the best part of the meal. Whitefish sandwich had a funny taste and was served fried but with skin on. And the sinks in the men's restroom had cold water. I let them both run for a few minutes and finally the water was slightly warm. The entire place feels like a cheap opportunity to take money from tourists who they don't expect to see ever again. I've got a cabin nearby and like to visit the falls with family and friends. But I'll pack a lunch or go to Paradise/Newberry in the future.
google avatar

Beth C.

Yelp
Super convenient location when you're at the falls! Yummy beer battered french fries, the rest of the food was okay. The beer was better this time so we filled our growlers, however it did go flat pretty quickly. Our server was great and very friendly.
google avatar

Ayesha F.

Yelp
Overpriced and mediocre service. Not the best fish I have had in UP and believe me there are many excellent fish and chips eateries up here. Sandwiches were ok as well. If I visit again probably will pick another restaurant or pack my own food.

Sandi M.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere were great! We ordered burgers for the grandkids from the kid's menus and was charged for the adult size burgers. Unfortunately, it wasn't caught until after we left and didn't have time to turn around. Thats the only reason I gave a 4 star.
google avatar

Rod W.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick lunch snack after hiking the falls. The service was quick and very helpful. The prices were very affordable. We ordered the cheese triangles and the pizza fries. Neither will blow you away but will suffice. They do charge a 4% for using a debit and credit card .

Bob B.

Yelp
Food and service were excellent! The restaurant is on the water too! The atmosphere is laid back and the staff is friendly
google avatar

Marley W.

Yelp
All tree brews were very good. If not so far from home we might cogs more often! Smoked fish appetizer was excellent. Each ogf us tried something new. Everyone was satisfied & full. Granddaughter love bed the decadent chocolate cake. Ambiance was amid lots of wild dead things. If you like the woodsy feel. Come here Service excellent. pricing a bit high because they are the only game in town and they can
google avatar

Shirlyn B.

Yelp
I talked my husband into stopping in for a beer recently. I had the worst beer of my life 8 years ago and was hoping they figured out how to brew. Well much to our dismay is was just as bad. I'm from down state that is full of wonderful breweries (Founders, Bells, Perrin etc). My concern is so many travelers will think this is what Michigan beer is like, it's not! They need to learn they're craft or hire a brewer that knows what their doing.
google avatar

Jacki R.

Yelp
We probably didn't have the best experience, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars...BUT they totally owned it and made it right, so 4 stars it is. Our server was great. The kitchen staff was likely lazy. We were originally told we couldn't order any cooked food due to food allergies, but when we asked some questions, they miraculously came up with a plan-it was probably the server and manager on duty more so than the kitchen staff... The steaks that were advertised at filet mignon were the quality of sirloin at best and SUPER overcooked. In the end, the kitchen closed and they couldn't make us food we could actually enjoy, but they recognized that is was a hot mess and comped our meal-our poor server!! We did leave a cash tip for her! She was as great. If there were more options in the area, we would suggest them...but kind of a one horse show.

Deidra W.

Yelp
Well after the nice small walk to the falls this hidden eatery was a nice place to stop into. The place offers inexpensive souvenirs and is a full restaurant and bar. Went there to try the pasty. It was my first one however read reviews from several restaurants so was prepared with some expectations. The crust was a bit thin but the filling was top notch full and thought good ratio meat, potatoes and vegetables. The crust looked amazing however did not hold the weigh well and had to eat with a fork. Some seasoning lacking but y'all can add salt and pepper. I'd eat it again just maybe order in not to go as there is a 4% credit card fee and 14% gratuity added on to go orders which was crappy as they even had a tip jar next to the register which was a bit offensive. It's a local restaurant trying to survive in this economy and tourists environment so understand however was not a fan of the mandate cause I would have tipped on my receipt anyway. Glad to have this place there was very convenient to the falls.
google avatar

Yelp
The perfect little oasis to find at the top of a 4-mile hike! Tried the Bird's Eye Maple brew... yummm! Two of us had the Steak & Shrimp, which was fantastic, while my 10-year-old was thrilled with her spaghetti. Our server was knowledgeable, fast, and very friendly. She even brought my daughter her pressed penny that she forgot at the table. Great food, atmosphere, and people... would happily go again!!!

Tom F.

Yelp
A great bar in a beautiful location. We were kept nice and warm by their big fireplace. Really good food and brew albeit it is on the pricey side. It is well worth the journey!

Yelp
When you're hiking in the middle of nowhere UP, it's an amazing surprise to come across this pretty large brewery/pub! My husband and I spent the morning hiking and visiting the grandiose Taquamenon Falls and weren't sure where we were going to find food. There is no cell phone service for googling and next to no businesses in the area to google anyways. So you can imagine our excitement that we saw on the map that there was a brewery/pub in the area. We got a big order of deeeeelicious fish and chips and my husband obviously got a beer-- he can't be at a brewery and not. The ambiance was pleasant. Tall ceilings made the space feel open and bright. The dead animals hanging everywhere wasn't a favorite decor choice for this zookeeper, but to each his own. If you're ever hiking the falls, have no fear, food IS near. And it's good food too!

Terri S.

Yelp
Don't expect quick service. You're in the UP. Enjoy the slow and easy. Have a pastie here. They're homemade and delicious. My husband and I will split one after a hike to the falls. It's a great treat along with one of their brews.

Jace D.

Yelp
I understand why they charge $20 for a plate of ravioli with ragu sauce because they are the only place to get food within 50 square miles. However, I regret to inform whoever is reading this to just stick to the soup. Beers are $7 which is a lot for not even a full pint. Furthermore, when do we ask the question "who owns this establishment?". Is it the state of Michigan? Or a nice old women down the road. Either way, I think we can all agree that using salt at the entrances would be a plus. Respectfully, Thé UP reviewer

Yelp
Super disappointing. I love the concept of keeping a craft brewery right here in the park for visitors of the falls, but my experience was very disappointing. The idea is great, but the reality is not so great. The wait times are too long, not staffed adequately or large enough to accommodate the park visitors, it's overpriced, the staff is kinda short with everyone, the beer selection was mixed and the food options are meh. We stopped here after a hike to the falls. We thought this is great, can't wait to try it. Wrong. Longest line ever. I believe there are shorter lines for Disney World's most popular rides during peak summer season. The hostess told us an hour and a half at barely 5 p.m. (more like 4:50 p.m.) Was she serious? The lines never moved, people had to sit around sweating it out on the overcrowded patio in the beating sun (did I mention it was August and super hot?) with other sweaty, dirty adults and unhappy toddlers. We were told we could order something from a nearby food truck (crappy nacho chips drizzled in cheese, hot dogs, cheap beer, etc), but that was a long line, too, and was cash only. Really? BTW, paltry nachos from a food truck outside were like $5. The beer is warm, the food menu was boring and the ambiance was cute, but they could be so much better. It's a money grab, too, because all of these souvenir vendors around the patio are marketing overpriced t-shirts, bumper stickers and coffee mugs to thirsty, hot, tired travelers.
google avatar

Greg D.

Yelp
Loved the cherry wheat and brown bear stout. Servers need to be more attentive to customer versus disinterested in being quick to help each other and the customer.
google avatar

Jill S.

Yelp
I'm not sure who is giving this place 5 stars cause it's not. I will say, the staff is awesome but that's about where it begins. The food is mediocre at best. I'm sorry, it's not that hard to make a burger or chicken Caesar salad. I'd probably stop by for cocktails but skip the food and opt for the food truck out front.

Julie H.

Yelp
Service was terrible. The hostess and waitress were so rude. I would never go back to this restaurant. We went to see the falls and went to the brewery to grab a bite to eat and they only had about 2 tables occupied but we were told that our whole party needed to be there in order to he seated. I understood that so I said 'OK, my daughter and I would like to be seated then and they can get their own table when they get here." She again said "Your whole party needs to be here for me to seat you." So I again told her that my daughter and I were the only ones that needed to be seated. She rolled her eyes and walked away. We thought she wanted us to follow her so we followed and another waitress said, "She'll cone get you when she's ready." Well maybe if she had told us to wait for her, we wouldn't have followed her. She then came back a couple minutes later and seated us. The rest of my party came in 2 minutes later. Someone else told us that since they were not busy, we could move to another table. When our waitress came over, there was no smile, no welcome, just stone cold. When we were ordering, I told her that instead of fries, I wanted onion rings. She never acknowledged that I had changed my order before she walked away so my daughter asked her later and she said very snotty, "Yes!" I ordered my burger well done and she made a snide remark how the burgers are charbroiled so it would probably be burnt in spots. I told her that was fine. When we got our food, my burger was pink, not well done. I didn't even eat it. She did take it off the bill so that was good, but we had to ask for drink refills because she did not refill our drinks. Overall it was a terrible experience and I would never go back.

After a short hike to check out the falls, my husband and I got a little peckish so we decided to pop into the brewery for a bite and beer. We went casual and sat the bar which was comfy and had great service to boot. I went all UP-core and got a pasty, but I was also hella jonesing for some onion rings so I added those too. My husband got the grilled ham and cheese special with a side of fries and a flight of some their beers for us to split. As we were walking in a saw a (sadly closed for the day) snack window outside advertising root beer floats. I thought this sounded amazing so I ordered one from the restaurant. It was great! I'm no pasty expert as this was my first extended trip to the UP but I very much liked the one I had here. It was flaky, had the right amount of savory gravy, and had a great proportion of veggies and meat stuffed inside. The onion rings side was also delicious. Beer battered and perfectly crispy. The portion was massive so I ended up having half of the order left and shared it with the fella sitting next to us as we were leaving (he also liked them quite a bit!). My husband said good things about his sandwich and I stole a few of his french fries and can also confirm those were also quite good. The beers were also quite enjoyable. My favorite was a peach variety that they had on tap. The black bear stout was also quite good. The space is very UP-woodsy/cozy/hunter lodge feeling. Par for the course for the location. There's also a great souvenir shop attached. No cell phone service at all and no wifi either. It would have been awesome if the offered that for patrons. All and all one of the better meals I had in the UP. Worth stopping in at if you're in the area and hungry.
