For the price and quality, well worth the 40 minutes wait. The fried chicken was delicious. Crispy outside, succulent inside. Pork neck is surprisingly good, the garlic sauce and spicy sauce complements well with the crunch of cucumbers. The milk tea was a bit bland. Recommend you pick the “normal” level of sweetness.

I had high expectations for 台蔡, especially given its Michelin recommendation and the constant long queue outside. Unfortunately, the experience was a letdown from start to finish. The service is genuinely poor. While the waitresses weren't exactly bad, their attitude was "not nice" to everyone. Customer interaction is zero, they just ask everyone to use QR code to order. When someone tried to ask a question, they were rudely told to wait. The Food is far from “Authentic” Salt & Pepper Chicken (鹽酥雞): Incredibly oily, it tasted like plain chicken with no seasoning at all and not crispy too. There were a few basil leaves, they had no flavor. Also, I found a hair in the chicken. Minced Pork Rice (滷肉飯): The rice was soggy and wet. Minced pork wasn't flavorful. The only decent part was the pickled vegetables. Egg Pancake (蛋餅): I was disappointed to see they used a scallion pancake as the base. While the taste was okay, very cheesy. The pacing was the final straw. My boyfriend and I both ordered minced pork rice, he finished his entire meal before mine even arrived. To the restaurant owner: people queue up because they want to appreciate your food. Please put more heart into it.

i have high expectation to be honest since this place is on the michellin’s guide and with such long queue all day long, i’m craving to try their egg roll. well… i can only say its simply not what i like. signature fried chicken - almost a must order item for every table, i don’t understand why is the friend chicken cold and because it’s cold, it turns really greasy. despite the flavor is nearly the same as the ones in taiwan but the greasiness totally ruins everything. fried tempura - ordinary egg roll - i acknowledge that there are different style or recipe of egg roll but their egg roll is really thick similar to onion pancake rather than egg roll. the texture is rough and taste is just average. the shop is small and packed, it’s a quick eat kinda place so don’t expect to have a relaxing eating experience. will i be back? once is enough.

A good Taiwanese restaurant but not a great one. Not as good as Mu Taiwan or What To Eat. Their style is of course slightly different, serving up pork rib soups and focusing more on rice based bowls. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the ingredients and its popularity. 9/10 - The stand out dishes for me were the Egg Cake (cheese or sausage were awesome). It has been done with more of a pastry spin as opposed to an egg roll and it was surprisingly good. 8.5/10 - The cauliflower dish was really good as well, charred well and flavoursome. 8/10 - Fried Chicken, really good salting and crisping. 7.5/10- Taiwanese Sausage & Sticky Rice 7.5/10 - The rice with minced meat was moorish 7/10 - Rib & Noodles, the goji berry flavour was far too strong for my liking. 7/10 - Fish Balls

We're from Southeast Asia and in my city we have a chain that sells Taiwanese XXL fried chicken so we're quite familiar with it. Upon arriving in the restaurant, I realized this restaurant got Michelin stars and there was a group of people waiting already. We had to wait outside in the cold, unfortunately. When inside, my husband ordered the set with pork salad while my son ordered the set with Taiwanese fried chicken. Overall I feel like food in HK is less salty than back home but the fried chicken was tasty and acceptable to our palate! The cold pork salad however, I like the sauce so much. It's like a toasted garlic something and it's very tasty with the slices of pork. We went back several days after for a late dinner when they were almost closed and they run out of rice already sadly so we had to go away.

Feels like a quick trip to Taiwan! Tai Tsai（台蔡）has been on my to try list for a long time and we finally tried for lunch. There is often a short wait but there is no need to get a ticket number or put your name on some list - just queue by the road and you will called to sit when space became available (there is instruction on the door but it is in Chinese…). We ordered plenty and enjoyed everything. I purposely skipped the carbs so I can try more things. Everything is very flavourful so the drink add on is almost a necessity. Would definitely come back again for more delicious Taiwanese food. Wish list: if they can just add fried sweet potatoes balls to the menu, my trip to Taiwan in Tsuen Wan would be complete! 🤣

Great authentic Taiwanese food. The portions were huge for us 2 ladies. We ordered the spring onion minced meat rice, fried chicken which was amazing and also the spring onion wrapped egg and pork floss which was great. The drinks tasted amazing too. The staff were polite and service was quick.

Food is mediocre, everything lacked salt or it was too salty. The 薄餅 uses the wrong cheese inside and made it way too salty. Everything is done through a QR code so there’s no service, it’s not a big deal but you can see all them standing around on their phone. Price point is too high especially when you’re getting no service.
