"Taichi Pot is a lively shabu shabu restaurant where you simmer thinly sliced meat, meatballs, vegetables, dumplings, and noodles in your choice of two broths. The funky Korean spicy kimchi dashi pairs well with the spicy sesame tonkotsu. Be sure to try the black Angus beef belly and kurobuta pork." - Octavio Pena, Cathy Park

Love when you can see and taste the quality!! 🍲🥩✨ @taichipotshabu is hands down the BEST authentic Japanese shabu shabu in the Bay Area. Just look at the marbling on the meat and the richness of the broths. The best part, it’s AYCE! Service is amazing and they really make it feel like you’re having a comforting meal at home.

Google
Great service and busy dinner place. The shrimp and wagyu were fresh and the soup was delicious! The only thing that needs to be improved was the speed of the meat serving.

Tejinder Singh Gill

Google
It was the first time, we try Japanese food It was really good. We try Spicy Umami Kimchi and Delicate Umami. They both were good. For Proteins Australian Lamb shoulder and Premium Chicken Breast Slices. And some mushrooms, tofu and vegetables for Add On. The food was really good and tasty.

Google
Taichi pot shabu shabu has AYCE Japanese style hot pot. Been going here for years, and it’s nice that they have halal beef options. You have to work with the waiter as they have halal Creekstone beef and Australian lamb. The hot pot is delicious and it’s nice that there is an AYCE restaurant that offers halal in the South Bay. In regards to other dietary restrictions, they also accommodate gluten allergies and vegetarian. We had to request for a vegetarian and gluten free broth for our order.

Been coming here since late 2019 after finding online. Love this place and come atleast twice a month since then. The lady and young buff dude that have worked here have always been great. We usually like to order bulk from the start and add meat as we go. Black garlic oil has been my favorite soup base and no other spot has come close. Came in yesterday and noticed alot of new staff and happy for the older lady since she was usually working alone from 530 to 630 but mostly for slow days like Thursdays. Update: 12/06/24 Came in on a Friday after not coming for a few months. Menu looks different but similar and easy to navigate. Walked in 530pm on busy night told it would be 7pm but got called in at 6pm. Food was great as always and the servers were very good and attentative. Still our favorite place for hotpot.

Google
There is nothing wrong with the restaurant. It’s just so overpriced for the mere meat options . Other than that, food is fresh, service is awesome and attentive, nothing to complain about.

Amar Maksumić

Google
The food here is very good! They have so many different meat options to choose from, even if you do not eat pork or beef. The lamb and seafood are fresh. Stephen (Curry) was an awesome server and made sure we were always attended to and kept with new rounds of food on the table!

Google
We went there on Friday and didn't know they offer all-you-can-eat, which is awesome. The vegetable was fresh, and the meat n seafood was mediocre (but still good to eat)~ The only downside: both the customers and the background music were very loud... We all got headaches after dinner. It was 52$/per person after tax and tips. If I want to go again, I will try to visit at a different time, or maybe I’ll bring earplugs to this place.

Yelp
One of the better hotpots in San Jose. I think the soup was very flavorful and tasty. Service was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. Our cups were always filled. As for the ambiance, we went on a weekday dinner so it wasnt that busy. Overall, we enjoyed our experience, if anything, I just wish they had more choices for ingredients and toppings. Edited to correct all the spelling mistakes on my previous review.

Wally L.

Yelp
The food was delightful, with the wagyu beef standing out as the star of the meal - tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The crispy potato slices and juicy meatballs were also wonderfully tasty, complementing each other beautifully. However, the portions were on the smaller side, which meant we found ourselves ordering more frequently to satisfy our appetites. On the bright side, the service was excellent, and the lack of a waiting line added to the overall pleasant experience.

Linh T.

Yelp
We chose the Spicy Red Miso and the Shrimp Daiginjo Tonkotsu broth. Both were very good!

Megan T.

Yelp
A slightly pricier place for AYCE hot pot but so worth it! They give you a menu to write on that you give to your server to place orders. There are a ton of options for broths that have a lot of flavor and the meat quality is great- perfect ratio of meat to fat and didn't come out frozen solid like some other places. They also have plenty of options and variety for add-ons which are also good quality. The sauces are a bit more limited than other AYCE spots and are readily available at the tables (ponzu, sesame, chili oil, and toppings like green onion, garlic, cilantro)

Yelp
First of all, don't be tricked by their high numbers of reviews. They offer 10% off (up to $5) for a Yelp review/check-in. Came on a Sunday night and arrived early, so there was no wait. We were party of four and opted for the Ultra menu because we wanted the American Wagyu. The meat itself was decent, but the portioning was inconsistent. For example, an order of 1 came with 3 slices, 2 orders came with 4 slices, 4 orders came with 6 slices, and 8 orders were served in two layers--I lost count of the exact number. This made it really difficult to gauge how much to order, especially since there's a limit per person per round. It felt like a strategic way to restrict ordering rather than an actual system. (Here is another trick of their business strategy) An hour passed, and we still weren't full because food wasn't being served at a reasonable pace. This setup might work for a party of two, where the meat cutter can serve the max of 4 orders per round, but for larger groups, you'll end up with small portions spread out over the time limit. Overall, a frustrating experience and will not return nor recommend.

Yelp
I was in a party of 7 and we had a 7PM reservation on a Sunday. Unfortunately that day the yelp reservation system glitched so we had to wait for 45 minutes. After they told us to get ready, we had to wait even more since they were not actually ready. We waited for over an hour in total - by the time we started eating, it was already 8:40. We split our party in two to sit in two separate tables to make everything quicker. The staff was very nice to us since they knew we had to wait for such a long time. They offered to let us order three broths. However, the kitchen wasn't fully in sync so the person who took our order told us that we only got two broths. I didn't care and we ended up getting a mala broth and a garlic tonkotsu broth. I like how they have sauces tableside so we don't need to get out of our seats. The food was pretty decent and had good flavor. I especially liked the mala broth. We went with the ultra menu and mostly ordered wagyu and lamb to get our money's worth. Both cuts of meat were good. The broth refill is just pouring hot water into the soup so it does get a bit diluted. We thought that they were going to stop serving us at 9:20 since they close on 9:30 on Sundays but they were aware of our situation and kept serving us. We stayed 20 minutes past closing and I appreciate the staff for staying a bit later to deal with us. The owner stopped by to chat with us and he was very nice. He was made aware of our situation and apologized. Even though our interaction was brief it was clear that he is passionate about this restaurant. He talked us into getting one last plate of meat even though I was full and also gave us some mochi ice cream. Even though my experience was very atypical and I was very tempted to give a lower review due to the wait time, the quality of the food and the lengths the staff went to ensure that we were happy justify a 5/5.

Tiffany N.

Yelp
I've always liked coming here since COVID, they have the creamiest soup bases, specializing in Tonkotsu. Their AYCE prices are a bit steep but the meat quality is very good. I noticed they added quite a bit of different menu items since we've first came, such as roe fish balls. Service is always very pleasant, they're quick and attentive.

Janet T.

Yelp
I came here with a friend to celebrate her birthday. It is all you can eat hot pot. We are so full and satisfied. Service is great! The environment is great too! There is Happy Hour before 6:30pm everyday. We got the ultra per person special for $41 because we love waygu! Who doesn't want unlimited waygu? Me for sure. You got to come and try out this place! Great place to host a party too!

Amanda N.

Yelp
Went here for the 2nd time. I love how there are many variations of broth. Really good service as empty plates were taken and always filled with our next order. Overall, I'm not wowed by the flavors, but def hits the spot when you're craving shabu shabu, especially AYCE.

Brian T.

Yelp
Came here on the Saturday night and they are very busy. Was able to get a yelp reservation the day of for the night but took about 5-10 minutes to get acknowledged when entering. Small and cozy restaurant. Ordered off menu with dry erase marker. Food came out quick. Broth was very flavorful for the first round. I got the signature creamy tonkotsu and shiro miso soy milk. The tonkotsu has a strong garlic aromatic and there's pieces of garlic inside. Would recommend if you like garlic. The meat was ok nothing too special. Tender but wished they had more cuts. They give big portions for their sides. Not much sauce options Decent place for shabu but nothing really stands out except for the broth.

Rachel L.

Yelp
Just incredible! This might just be my top AYCE hotpot spot in the Bay, and definitely my #1 for Japanese style hotpot (shabu). The portions they give are generous for AYCE, but the quality is really what blew me away. Every piece of meat we had was so soft and marbled perfectly. And the broths were amazing!! My favorites were the signature creamy black garlic tonkotsu which was so rich and flavorful, or the intense spicy mala reminiscent of classic Sichuan spice. Sauce fixings are all at the table which was super convenient. If you come during happy hour, it's $43 per person for their Ultra AYCE menu. I highly recommend opting for that option to get those quality cuts of meat. So worth it! They have quite a wide variety of hot pot ingredients other than meat as well. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner and he was really kind and conversational! Always fun learning about the business! Ambience is pretty casual.

Yelp
Our party of 3 stopped by for Wednesday dinner. We had a reservation and the table was ready right away :) The staffs were nice and very attentive! They checked in regularly to get us our next rounds. It didn't feel like we had to flag them down. We opted for the ultra menu, and paid $41 per person with the happy hour discount. I opted for this option mainly because of the tom yum tonkotsu broth option. Which was not that great We didn't taste much tom yum, just salty from the tonkotsu. I'm a big broth person so this was minus one star for me. The meats were great quality. The veggies were fresh. I especially enjoyed the tong ho they have. Overall, we had a great dinner! Broth needs improvement but everything else is great

Mike V.

Yelp
Second time here the foods is fantastic! Service is on point and the soup base options are great as well! Definitely would come back! The wagyu beef is my go too meat and black garlic broth is my favorite!

Krys Y.

Yelp
Came here with a friend to catch up over lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We did not have reservations, but we're seated immediately since they had availability. While other places may have a better selection, we were satisfied with the offerings. AYCE was super easy to order and as we continued on with our meal the restaurant filled up. It's quiet enough to have a conversation in this restaurant, but not so quiet that my sudden burst of laughter mid conversation would be disruptive. I would definitely visit again.

Mary K.

Yelp
This hotpot place is solid. There's 2 different AYCE options: 1) Ultra ($45/person) or 2) Supreme ($39). My table went with the ultra option as it included "American Wagyu" as one of the meat options. Plus there is also +$18 all you can drink beer or sake. The broths we got were 1) Tom Yum Tonkatsu (Ultra option broth) and 2) Spicy Umami Kimchi. I personally liked the Tom yum tonkatsu broth more as the kimchi broth didn't really taste like kimchi. The broths were on the saltier side but were still delicious and I would gladly come back. Meats-- the American wagyu was our favorite. We also ordered Australian lamb shoulder and Black Angus Beef Toro which are also great options, but we ordered the American wagyu every time. It was really well marbled. I also tried the mini gyudon (ultra option) and it was so good that I ordered it twice.

Kristine V.

Yelp
The service was great right before we even came through the door. We came on a Sunday afternoon at around 2:30pm. We were waiting for one other person to arrive before we wanted to go inside (because we thought like other places, we couldn't be seated until the whole party was there) that wasn't the case here. As we were waiting lovely lady asked us if we were gonna eat there, and we said yes, just waiting on someone...and she asked if we wanted to be seated anyways while we waited for our friend. She sat us down at a table, this place is very spacious very comfortable. As we were waiting she explained the menu and how everything works. Luckily it was happy hour when we came which was great. They have a good selection of of broths to choose from. We even got to sample a couple of them. Which I am glad we did because the ones we sampled was too spicy for my liking. I remember one sample was the Malaa. We ended up getting Tom Yum, and Spicy Creamy Tomato broths. Which we all enjoyed. The meats were pretty good, and they have a bunch of veggies and sides to choose from. They were very attentative, with coming to take our next rounds, to filling out drinks back up. I love that they have the sauce ingredients on the table instead of having a sauce bar. They also have unlimited drinks for $18 per person to add on if you're into that. Overall I would come back here, because of the service, location, and food.

Nate O.

Yelp
The service was great - workers were super friendly & explained the difference between the Ultra & Supreme menu option. The food quality was delicious & the overall vibes were chill.

Monica H.

Yelp
Love when you can see and taste the quality!! @taichipotshabu is hands down the BEST authentic Japanese shabu shabu in the Bay Area. Just look at the marbling on the meat and the richness of the broths. The best part, it's AYCE! Service is amazing and they really make it feel like you're having a comforting meal at home. The space is also spacious and clean,

Yelp
Great place for a hang out with good food! The staff was friendly and did their best to bring out reach round of food quickly so you are able to enjoy without feeling rushed. They do let you know when placing a last order is due so you have time to anticipate that and prepare your order in. :) How they have it set up per person is enough food for you to enjoy, and you're always welcome to order more when you receive your menu back so that was always good for us. We were full by the time we left! I LOVE the udon noodles and the flavorful dashis. The meats were also delicious, too (on the Ultra Menu). We couldn't get enough of the American Wagyu, but what was also good was the Beef Toro - it wasn't too fatty at all. One thing that didn't sit well with me was when we were seated, the server told us they didn't have any plastic or kids cup to provide to our little ones. But a table before us and a table after us with multiple little kids had plastic cups provided for them without being asked. After I came out of the bathroom towards the end of our meal, I saw stacks of plastic cups for kids and asked a different server for one, which he provided. Not sure why the initial server didn't provide it for us or why she said that they didn't have any, but because of that it left a foul impression although everyone else (and the ambiance) was nice and helpful.

Yelp
#1 AYCE hot pot in the area! Absolutely worth every penny (especially during happy hour). We stumbled upon this shabu shabu restaurant while we were in the area and were completely blown away by the food and service. We happened to be one of the first customers there so we were quickly sat. We had two servers checking in on us and explaining all the broths/meats. We were able to select the ultra option which we mainly chose based on the broths available. I got the shrimp tonkatsu and it's by far the best broth i've had. We mostly ordered american wagyu and enoki mushrooms throughout our 90 minute stay. Tip from the server- Add the cilantro directly to the broth I've been back a couple times since my first visit and have always been satisfied!

Craig Y.

Yelp
Super friendly! I thought this was just going to be another hot pot place. Good but nothing to write home about. Well, I'm writing home about it. I love the variety at this place and the service is top notch. The quality of the food is pretty amazing and I was impressed with the flavors of the broth. Really worthwhile. FOOD: Excellent. Again, I loved the quality but also the variety. We went for the ultra package which is $9 more per person, but you get SO much more in the way of options. And it's already such a great price (more on that later). There is a limit on the number of times you can order the wagyu beef but that wasn't even our favorite so it didn't matter (although we did order it the max number of times which I believe is twice per person). I think the black angus beef toro was our favorite. For broth we ordered the signature creamy tonkotsu and the spicy red miso (I think) and both were good but we both preferred the tonkotsu. Also, order the gyudon (beef bowl). I could've just eaten THAT! SERVICE: Again, terrific. So surprisingly well attended and they just kept bringing stuff as ordered. And the quality! So good. COST: Seriously hard to find an AYCE (all you can eat) place like this with such reasonable prices (happy hour is anything before 6:30pm! and is $4 off). For $43 dollars AYCE on the Ultra menu? A bargain. And it's delicious.

Phillip N.

Yelp
If you're a fan of hot pot, Taichi Hot Pot is a must! The all-you-can-eat option is amazing, with a wide variety of broths, meats, seafood, veggies, and noodles. The Tom Yum Tonkatsu broth is a standout, The dipping sauces are fantastic, and the service is quick and friendly. For the quality and quantity of food, the price is more than fair. Whether you're a hot pot veteran or new to it, you'll leave full and satisfied. Can't wait to come back!

Monica O.

Yelp
I used to come here all the time years ago. The food has always been delicious but now the service is excellent. We ordered the AYCE and enjoyed the beef chuck, chicken, mushrooms, corn, and both the sukiyaki broth and tonkotsu black garlic broth. The ambience is very nice and management really takes good care of you. Thank you for an amazing experience we will be back again soon!

Tammy L.

Yelp
I love this place! My first time officially trying, Shabu was at this place. And I had such a great experience. Due to my disability, I don't fit underneath a lot of tables. I'm so grateful this Shabu place has open leg space. The owners even moved from my initial table me so that I was comfortable and warm. They were so sweet and accommodating.

Isabelle N.

Yelp
I love Taichi!! I've been here twice now with my boyfriend and during their happy hour. It's not too big of a discount tbh but happy to save some money nonetheless. I like the spicy miso broth and umami broth. The garlic tonkotsu is a little too much for me. Good quality meat, pretty fast service. Can't wait to come back!

Ling J.

Yelp
Came here with my partner at 6:25 on a Friday and was 4th on the waitlist. Was told it was going to be a 25 minute wait & didn't get seated until 50 minutes later at 7:15. Would highly recommend coming early or joining the waitlist early :). Once we were seated, we opted for the highest tier of Ultra & got the Tom Yum Tonkatsu + the signature creamy tonkatsu. Both were really yummy & I could probably have drank a bowl of each with some noodles haha. For meat, we tried almost one of each from both the ultra, ultra add ons, and supreme.... And the verdict is GET THE ULTRA! The wagyu was definitely higher quality vs the supreme which had a ton of fat. Service was impressive as we literally didn't have to flag anyone down, and new orders of wagyu kept showing up without us even asking. The manager Stephen(?) took care of us & was so sweet and friendly! In fact, in the beginning we asked what meats to order & he said "focus on the Wagyu" I LOVE that they love taking care of their customers!! Highly recommend, can't wait to come back during their happy hour

Tony B.

Yelp
My hat is off the owner who even helps with service! You really felt the attention and care they took in making our experience top notch. It's a tabehodai (all you can eat) format with two levels, supreme and ultra. For the $5-6 difference take the top package unless you're a light eater. You simply mark items on a wipe board and pass it to your server. It is so easy . I think we were all floored with the broth selections and liked the fresh udon. They take reservations which is wise. Pass on the table near the door if cold outside unless desperate as the traffic can be heavy as this place is popular.

Bao T.

Yelp
go before 6:30 PM for happy hour price $41/ person for american wagyu! Service is good, for weekend you must reserve, or else its very pacted!

Helena D.

Yelp
Second time at this fabulous shabu restaurant, and just as impressive as the first time. The quality of the meats are fantastic, and the broths continue to be the star of the show. Veggies and other ingredients are super fresh as well, and even though it was a very busy Christmas Eve, the staff were SO nice and made sure to take care of us at every turn. Stephen in particular was great! This is definitely becoming one of my favorite shabu places. We will definitely be back!

Chris P.

Yelp
Very good food and service. Decent size but it gets busy. Consider making reservations to avoid a long wait

Monica S.

Yelp
While the food is good and our host chose this place because they take reservations, there were several barriers that keep me from awarding at least 4 stars. First of all, the reservations made by our host was for 7:30p. Our guests of honor were running behind by 15 minutes so all of the guests were waiting which wasn't a big deal but our server came by and circled their 90 minute rule on the menu for all the guests to see (you only get 90 minutes and then they kick you out) which immediately set me on edge. As of 7:30p, we were all on the clock! Secondly, to accommodate our party of 7, we were sat at a small table for allegedly 4 and then a second small table was added with a mobile burner run by a butane can. Seating was cramped and table space was minimal. Additionally, there was no hood above us to promote air circulation. After dinner, our clothes and jackets wreaked of hot pot. Be careful of how you dress to this restaurant. Because this was our first time at the restaurant, ordering was confusing and our server didn't bother to ask if this was our first time and and offer tips on how to order with our table split. When our burner arrived, it was a bit sluggish to boil. With our clock ticking, there we were watching for the pot to boil. If I hadn't kept my eye on the burner by getting up several times and looking at the flames, I would have been waiting a LONG time for it to boil. Our can of butane was empty. Our table had to wait AGAIN for a new can of butane and for the broths (Tom Yum and Black Garlic Oil) to boil which was somewhat bland. Once our hot pot was in order which was around 8:30p, all I could think of was we only get 1/2 hour to eat and then we're going to get kicked out. When the food was set out on the table, we couldn't tell who ordered it. Was it ours? Was it theirs? Apparently, the restaurant has two set sauces: ponzu and peanut/sesame, but because I was at the annexed table, it was difficult to see. During dinner, the place was quite loud so you couldn't hear anyone at our table talking. Frankly, I was frustrated by my dining experience.

Chelsea U.

Yelp
We did AYCE supreme - $36 per person. Great quality protein and veggie options. The soup base was rich and flavorful. Service was great. Very hospitable and restaurant is clean. My favorite out of the two flavors was the spicy creamy tonkotsu. Would recommend to people and definitely will be back.

Victoria K.

Yelp
Decided to set up a reservation for my mother in laws birthday. Heads up they do not have ANY dessert and nothing for the birthday person which was sad. The ambiance is open and was said to have a sauce bar, but in reality it was just sauces and toppings on the table. A bit misleading. The drinks were good, the beers and cocktails were very sweet! The soup array was large and so delish! The Tom Yum was definitely the most different and flavorful. The meats were delish! They do a 90 minute time limit which they are strict on. However I don't think it was fair since the waitress and waiters were not constantly by. Out of our party of 9, 5 of us were still hungry even after an AYCE. Quite disappointing. Probably will not be back due to lack of service and trying to push us out towards the end. We also had a reservation at 7 and were NOT seated at 7. So that was also frustrating

Grace H.

Yelp
Delicious! Came here on a Friday with reservations during happy hour and loved it. I love how all the sauces are on your table already and service was phenomenal. Meats came out really quickly and the servers were all phenomenal. We ordered the mala and spicy creamy tonkatsu soup base. I will say I preferred the mala and the tonkatsu has a big of a strong porky smell which was too much for me. Naturally, I prefer pork over beef and it was too much for me but still was not bad by any means. We got the ultimate and it was worth it in my opinion because the wagyu was delicious. We ate a bunch of the different beef and they were all super delicious. I also loved the variety of vegetables and noodles as well. Overall, thought the food and service was great so will definitely be back!

John L.

Yelp
Great food, great service, ample parking, couldn't ask for more! Pros - I recommend going with the ultra menu because the cuts of meat they offer on it are noticeably higher quality that on the lower tier - The American Wagyu was our table's favorite - There is a discount if you begin eating before 6:30

Abby P.

Yelp
Tried different hot pot places. They kept checking in on us throughout our time here. AMAZING 1000/10 Great place, not too loud.

Jen-Jen B.

Yelp
Review way overdue! Came here earlier this year. It was busy but the wait wasn't too bad. Party of five and we all had the ultimate AYCE. The broths were very tasty. The meat and veggies looked very fresh. Tasted just as good as they looked. Service was good but it just took a while to get our rounds of order in with the time limit given. I guess due to the place being busy, but maybe have more on staff if not able to tend enough tables. We were able to get four rounds in but a couple of times we had to find a server to assist. A place I'd come back to probably on a not so busy night or at least when enough staff to tend to tables.

Kathy T.

Yelp
Overall: 3.5 / 5 stars Came here with a reservation for a party of 4 and we were immediately seated. Definitely recommend getting a reservation if you are determined to eat here because it gets busy really quickly. Service is quick and very attentive but does get a bit held up once it gets packed! You order with a whiteboard-esque menu and can order whatever you want given that it's AYCE! Just keep in mind there is a surcharge if you leave uneaten, wasted food! Downside with our experience today is we were reminded to leave after 1 hr into our meal. I believe we are supposed to have 90 minutes so that was a bit odd. Veggies are super fresh and there's a decent variety. Wish there was more selections but what they have is great quality. Various broth flavors too and they do refill the broth but not with the broth itself, it seemed like water or perhaps dashi so the original flavor does get watered down a bit but still good once you dip the meats in. For the price, I think it's good but a bit overpriced especially considering it's almost $40 per person and there's a higher tier if you want other proteins including seafood. Not sure I would come back anytime soon because of how expensive it is but if you want to have a nice meal and never tried this place perhaps it's worth it for you.

Yelp
I had a wonderful time at Taichi! I haven't done an AYCE experience in a while and this was very much worth it! First things first - the service was great. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. There's also really quick with getting orders in, which I appreciate since there is a 90 minute time limit for AYCE. I came before the dinner rush which I feel like is definitely the MOVE. Great quality of ingredients and I definitely didn't get bored of the variety they had for us to choose from for proteins and veggies. I also loved all the soup bases my family chose: Black garlic tonkotsu, tom yum tonkotsu (by FAR my fave which surprised me because I'm normally not the biggest tom yum person but the tonkotsu really made a difference), and red miso. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Wait time- Came here on a Saturday night around 7:30. Do recommend doing reservations as there were a few groups waiting to be seated. It is unlimited all you can eat so you will be waiting for a while if you dont reserve. Food- We got the ultra menu with broth of spicy mala & Creamy Tonkotsu + the kyoto grape cocktail. The spicy mala definitely has a kick of spicy but was tolerable. The grape cocktail was sparkling and it was good at first but as I kept drinking it reminded me of tylenol medicine cough syrup. Still finished it. If you like grape by all means order it. As for our experience, we did sit at the edge of the restaurant so we felt neglected since our orders weren't being taken quick enough, or they forgot our orders. They did mention they had a printer error. Reminder, we forgot but they do offer 10% off your first order if you make a review on yelp.

Yelp
We were originally told that we could do all you can drink with either the ultra or supreme all you can eat package. However upon arrival the waitress told us we had to do ultra which was a bit of a bummer. There's a 90 min time limit but the meat quality is good. Just a note you can only do beer + hot sake with AYCD!

Yelp
The soup choices here are pretty good. We went with a group of 6 and they gave us 3 soup options which was nice so we could get some variety. The ordering style is done by marking an erasable menu with a marker which makes it easy and worry free since you don't have to worry about glitch iPads messing up your orders. The restrooms are in the back and very clean, the music in the background is not overpowering but enough to give a good vibe. Pretty good place if you're in the mood for shared Hot Pot

Yelp
Oh my goodness, easily some of the best hotpot I've ever had!!!!!! Quite the introduction into Japanese hotpot (as someone who's generally partial to the Chinese rendition). The quality was top tier and the service was outstanding. Everyone was extremely accommodating and sweet, especially the owner Stephen! The food was phenomenal. All of the broths were unique and delicious in their own way (intense spicy mala was definitely my favorite tho). The beef cuts were incredibly tender, you could 100% taste the quality by the way it melted in your mouth. They also have all of the sauce fixings you need right at the table so that was incredibly convenient as well. This place is definitely not cheap, but you will get what you pay for. Dare I say the whopping $47 Ultra AYCE might just be worth it for that wagyu. Make sure to make dinner reservations before hand because they get booked up quick!!! That wagyu hasn't left my mind, safe to say I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Enjoyed our meal. Wish that their supreme meat option has more than just the 3 selection. Still yummy! Great service! Clean place.

Yelp
Not only was the food fresh and the broth extremely flavorful, but our servers were so great! Anytime we were low on our items, they would come over and check to see if/what we wanted replenished. They also actively topped off our hot sake for us (I don't even think I ever had to refill it on my own). Overall, we loved our experiences from start to finish.

Yelp
The soup bases were good and they were quick to bring out meats the meats unlike most ayce places that take forever!

Yelp
Really easy to make a reservation and the staff was really friendly while we checked in. We opted for the supreme option and it was great. There are 3 different meats you can choose from and a vast array of veggies. We ordered the spicy miso + garlic tonkatsu broth and both were extremely flavorful. I would recommend!

Yelp
This was our first time eating at this location & we decided to go with the "Ultra" selection to try their premium cuts. Of course we ordered all different kinds of vegetables & we didn't know how much meat comes with the order so we ordered 2 wagyu, 1 lamb & 1 beef toro just to gauge what to order from there. Our first order comes out & there's a lot of veggies but the order of meat is very surprising. Barely anything with that order. So we keep upping the order & we're still surprised each time at the amount they serve. When the whole table is like we barely ate any meat & we're half way through our time there's a problem. They definitely aren't stingy with the vegetables tho. So we were notified for last call for our table so we decided to order the maximum for wagyu. Which is 12 orders cause you're allowed 2 orders per person & we had a party of 6. They come out with 2 round plates of meat & we're just confused at this point. On top of that they took a while to get the meat the whole night. Especially the last order. So what is 2 orders per person here??? Our guess was 2 slices of meat per person cause that's what it seemed like...LOL! Every hotpot we've eaten at serves trays of meat with a lot of cuts cause that's mainly what everyone is there for but not this place. Lastly as we're cooking our last order & trying to finish up & we're asked to leave cause our time is up. I don't mind the rules that's fine cause we're aware of it but when you take long to serve customers & then you expect them to finish on time that's a problem. It didn't help customers corralled inside are complaining about their reservation time & being seated. So this puts pressure on the workers. The table next to us was also asked to leave. It sucked sitting right in the front corner by the door cause all these customers waiting are just crowded by your table. This is the first time I've ever experienced this at a hotpot spot. We'll definitely not be coming back to this spot. For those that choose to try this place out I hope you get a different experience. Definitely not worth the money!
