Truly an experience! We did the date special for 2 which included a glass of Sake, miso soup then a small plate, an appetizer, a dessert and a 10 piece omakase curated by the chef/owner for 2 all for 200 dollars! An unbelievable deal and an even cooler experience. Fair warning, you can not be a picky eater for this experience and I would recommend ordering a la carte if you are not willing to try different things! Everything was timed perfectly, the food was so fresh and at the perfect temperature. The sushi rice was so delicious and the staff was so attentive and kind. This was a great find and we will definitely be back! Thank you so much for the experience we truly enjoyed it!

Google
Delicious, high quality sushi experience! We fell into this place while exploring Cobble Hill and wow, what a find. Every bite was refined and the sushi chefs were mad cool too. All the details were so on point, the miso soup so good, charred romaine practically melted in my mouth. And the fish was super tasty. When I asked the chef how to pronounce the name of the restaurant, he told me that it was his name! Taiki the man was super hilarious, quick with a smile and a joke. Drinking beer while preparing the food, the whole space was filled with good times and positive energy. Great place

Google
Great meal!! We were able to get a table for 4 on a Saturday night without much notice. It’s a cozy place, on the smaller side and dimly lit. Very nicely designed. Delicious fish and desserts!

Came to Brooklyn for the half marathon. Wanted to celebrate afterward with some good sushi. This place did not disappoint. The ambiance and aesthetic is beautiful and intimate dining. Our server was very knowledgeable and good at his job, we had a fantastic experience and the food was delicious. Will be returning next time we're in NYC

Google
A small intimate sushi restaurant in the neighborhood. The place is literally a few steps from my home so I had the try it, especially since some of the reviews here were pretty glowing. The place is small and intimate, homey. I had the toro tarter and the monk fish karaage appetizers. Following with a sashimi Omakase. The monk fish was fried in batter. I thought It was ok. The fish felt fresh but the batter somewhat under fried. The $20 toro tartar was pretty small and underwhelming. The sashimi felt very fresh, especially the otoro tuna. All in all I would probably skip the appetizers next time, and try more of sushi offerings if I would go back

Google
The fish was fresh and the highlight for me. The sashimi platter plain and well prepared. Other dishes were not that good. The service was very friendly when I visited on what looked like a slow evening.

Google
Taiki is honestly one of the best omakase experience in all of New York City Area. The Chef really does his best to deliver the best quality sushi for affordable price. Really authentic experience that took me back to my days traveled to Tokyo. A true hidden gem within the Brooklyn.

Google
We ate here for the first time this evening and it was phenomenal. The quality is very high for the omakase but the vibe is relaxed and unpretentious. We loved the food including the clam and potato soup, eggplant appetizer, pickled vegetables, sashimi and the chocolate mousse dessert. The entire team is exceptional. They even have kids meal and they were very gracious with our neurodivergent son. Excellent.

Yelp
For 2024 I wanted to try somewhere new after attending an event in downtown Brooklyn. I used the app Seated to find a place and happen to find Taiki which was a 13 minute walk. The space is relatively small with a bar in the front, and some tables. The place was packed but that could be attributed to the super cold weather. The people were friendly and helped me to get situated. They gave me the option of the bar or the high tables. In either cases, the stools were tall and were curved enough that a thicker person might feel uncomfortable. I ordered the grilled romaine, the 10 piece sushi omakase and a hot green tea. The 10 piece sushi omakase was 65 bucks and it was pretty well done. Unlike other omakases, it was given in 2 sets of 5 pieces so that when you finish the first set of five, you get the other one. Not the one piece after another experience I have been getting recently but good enough if you don't really need the performance. There wasn't anything innovative with the flavors but I think the selection of fish was solid. Was a great fan of the otoro (as always) but also liked the red snapper as well. The grilled romaine was okay. Would have loved it to my crispy grilled but the flavors of the Parmesan cheese and tahini served as a great contrast to the bitter leafs. Overall I think it was a good choice for the night. I can see it as a neighborhood spot for good sushi. Not a top tier experience but a dependent elevated dine out.

Yelp
Tried out Taiki finally. Perfect for a date or catching up with a friend.. not great for a big group since the restaurant probably only has like 20 seats. It's a super cute neighborhood spot that I kinda want to keep to myself. The Tamago is hands down the best I've ever had -- like a fluffy cloud dream. Tried sweet-talking the chef for the recipe, but no luck. We were able to get in on a Friday around 6:30, but the place was full by the time we left, so will make a res next time!

Dayo E.

Yelp
Did the omakase of course and for the price it isn't bad. The freshness of the pieces were good and the ones that had more nuance and flavor came through. I always want a bit more with omakase but would go back for it when I'm craving sushi. Of course it's made in front of you and we sat at the bar so that was great. Had to wait a bit for the pieces but that's expected with just 2 folks on the pieces. Was a bit dark but overall good experience.

Yelp
Amazing Sushi in NYC - you must try when you are in NYC. You can get better quality sushi than Japan as the chef Taiki takes pride in choosing the best quality fish. Everything was so fresh and well-prepared! I was super impressed with Isaki - very delicate, sophisticated, and tasty fish. Definitely want to come back again.

Luka L.

Yelp
Good fish. Fair service. Sloppy sushi chef. Does not feel like a real Japanese restaurant.

Ahiliya N.

Yelp
Discovered this place super close to me in Boerum Hill! It's tucked away, but what it lacks on the outside it makes up for on the inside. The restaurant is beautiful with a sushi bar where you can see your food being made. The omakase is also super cheap depending on what you want. They also get seasonal and fresh fish that they have special tastings of, which we really enjoyed. Overall, a great and affordable (for the quality) sushi spot in the neighborhood.

Dahlia C.

Yelp
The food ambiance and service here are fantastic. I made a reservation for 4 at 8pm on a Saturday night with a couple hours notice. The restaurant is super cozy - perfect for a date night or night with friends. It's on the smaller side and is dimly lit with fun designs throughout. Our table got the edamame to share, the sushi omakase (12 piece) (one each), and both deserts (a tamago brûlée and a chocolate mousese of sorts). All excellent! I'd love to come back!

Yelp
My wife and I dined here on Saturday night. We ordered two appetizers the Mashita and Toro tartare which we both good, we then we ordered three drinks (two cocktails and one beer) which were good and six different sashimi. The sashimi were good overall but my wife and I ended up repeating the sashimi afterward. My big surprise came two days later when I realized there were two separate transactions charged for the same meal. One of which is still currently pending ($215.57) and another transaction where they overcharged my tip $30. They did end up sending me a message apologizing for the overcharge saying they misread my tip amount because the server was "moving too fast" but, told me they could not provide me with a refund and would provide me with a $30 meal credit towards my next visit which is unacceptable. My credit card company ended up refunding that amount to me immediately. In the end, our overall experience wasn't great and considering the meal was not cheap I can easily say we will not be returning.

Yelp
So lucky that we found this hidden gem so close to our place!!! I have a feeling I'll frequent this sushi restaurant very often. I went with two other people and all of us absolutely raved about it afterwards. Dishes we got: - edamame (seriously the best edamame I've ever tasted; must get) - roasted Brussels sprouts (not the typical crunchy crispy kind; def tastes more healthy - also comes with bacon) - potato leek soup (yuuuuuuum) - toro tartare (must get) - Otanoshimi Plate (seared three belly trio - must get) And the omakase, 10 piece sushi. The 10 piece sushi had uni in it. I typically avoid uni like the plague since bad ones typically tastes like sea trash to me , but having had a taste of the fresh fish here, I figured the uni would be safe. Was not wrong!!! The only critique I had was the ordering of the sushi when it was served. The 10 piece sushi was served in two parts - the first plate felt like it was more rich and flavorful and seems to be better suited as the second plate instead. Esp since it has toro and finishing the meal with fatty tuna is, for me, the best way to end. Overall, 100% recommend this place. ,

Yelp
This restaurant has not only the best food, created by the coolest chef, with the most awesome name, but it also has a business owner - Taiki - who imparts wisdom with every piece of sushi he delivers. Each of the servers are kind and utterly helpful in terms of educating their customers. Eating here is a dream and a half...the whole vibe of being here is better than any restaurant in New York City. Get literally whatever is on the special menu. I love it. So glad my eyes were opened to this epic, far out spot. It's positively groovy! Rock on, Taiki! Merci, Gracias, and Arigato for bringing your special level of omakasé to this sleepy neighborhood! ‍

Yelp
Wandered in after climbing with M.Y. and N.S. as we were exploring a new area. Not being incredibly hungry we opted to share a few dishes. To start M.Y. and I got the clam and potato soup instead of the traditional miso while N.S. opted for just that. We all enjoyed our soups as a nice balance of salty and savory. The clam and potato was in a similar style as the miso, just envision potato chunks instead of tofu and a slightly more funky broth as you get with clams. Either way, I would definitely order it again. We then had the charred octopus with pear and grapefruit which was a lovely mix of smokey and citrus. I liked the pairing of citrus as it cut through some of the meaty flavor of the octopus. The last appetizer we got was the shishito pepper and eggplant with dashi. This dish was definitely more on the savory side but with just that bit of char and blister on the peppers with a soft and supple eggplant tied together with the sweet and salty dashi made for a lovely dish. Our mains were three rolls, uni+scallop, yellowfin+scallion, and toro+scallion, and the seared tuna combo. Of the rolls, the uni+scallop was our group favorite as the textures combined well and flavors complimented each other perfectly. The seared tuna combo was good but only three pieces so not a great dish to share. I think if you wanted just a little extra tuna in your meal this would be the dish to order. So why just 4 stars? I like dining more than once before I upgrade to 5 though the quality of the fish and the service was spot on here.

Chris B.

Yelp
Not many places like it in the area, so it's a welcome addition. More than just sushi, their appetizers and and small plates were delicious. High quality sushi made right in front of you, good sake, decent prices, what else could you ask for?

Yuko A.

Yelp
Authentic sushi in a casual setting. Friendly owner! Go early on weekends- no reservation is necessary! Definitely go back again soon.

Frances U.

Yelp
Had sushi cravings one night so we came by since they had availabilities. Didn't feel like waiting in line, so we made a reservation. Not surprising that this place isn't packed with people. Sushi is overpriced. This is the kind of place that's one and done for me. Was a pleasant experience but not really the restaurant id want to keep coming back to. Need to review business model especially given the location and the market you're in.

Chris A.

Yelp
Rarely do I come across a sushi restaurant like Taiki. The sushi served here was very tasteful and fresh. The appetizer / small plate selection was thoughtfully put together. Don't come here if you're looking for extravagant rolls that are overdressed with sauces and toppings. Come here if you want sushi the way it should be served.

Dong-Won L.

Yelp
You can tell that this place puts a lot of thought into their dishes. Everything is really good. My favorite dishes are the uni scallop roll and the seared belly trio.

Tiffany L.

Yelp
High quality sushi at a very reasonable price! covid times: there are about 5-6 small tables in front of the restaurant available for outdoor dining with a good amount of space in between. We had the monkfish karaage ($14), which was fried perfectly and served in a little bamboo bowl. You can tell from the appetizer that the fish is fresh and well handled. We then had the 10 piece sushi omakase ($50) which came out in 2 courses. (5 each). Mind you, I haven't had good quality sushi in a while so I wasn't able to pause and take photos let alone remember what pieces of fish I had. All i know is that everything was delicious and this is definitely the best authentic sushi you can get in the neighborhood. The only negative comment I have is that we were not served uni in the omakase, but maybe it comes with a different set? I'm just glad i got my sushi fix. yum!

V C.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place because it's in the neighborhood, and it would've been awesome to have an omakase place close by. But the food quality is just not there. I will caveat and say that I am pretty picky when it comes to sushi, so for those who are not as picky, maybe this will be just fine. But for $70, 12 pieces, you can find soooo much better elsewhere. Let's start with the rice. It's cold. And dense. And feels like flavorless day-old, congealed rice brick. The fish was meh at most. The chef didn't bother to tell us what the pieces were, so I can't tell you what we had. Even the wagyu and uni pieces were just ok. Taiki, I really wanted to like you. It makes me sad because you had good reviews and I don't understand why.

Michelle L.

Yelp
Fresh fish and so good! After dining here a week ago this place immediately became our go to sushi spot in Brooklyn. Its on a cute street in Boreum. The stars of the night: Chutoro, Tamago and the Uni! The Chutoro was perfectly soft and fatty The Tamago was like fluffy egg pillow with the perfect amount of sweetness The Uni was delicate and buttery. Wish they had the option of wine by the glass as Im not the biggest sake drinker - but perhaps I can learn to be Generous cuts of fish, friendly and enthusiastic service. This spot is a Boreum Hill gem.

Farah G.

Yelp
I discovered Taiki accidentally by searching online to see if there was any good omakase in the area and I'm so glad I found this place! I generally only feel inclined to write a review when a place either gives me the worst experience ever or I have an experience that blows me away, and I'm so happy that my experience at Taiki was the latter. As an omakase lover, I was astonished to see that this place has been right under my nose for so long and I never even heard of it. They definitely deserve more press and I can't believe it wasn't a packed house on a Friday night. The service was incredible (many thanks to our wonderful server who had the best recommendations), the fish was fresh, the menu was expansive and the ambiance was incredible, playing the best tunes all night creating an unforgettable vibe. Highly recommend for a quiet and cute date night, dinner to catch up with friends or even a solo outing (the sushi chefs are hilarious and so much fun!) I'll definitely be back many times with many friends. Thanks for the great night and loads of free sake to share at closing Taiki!!!!

Wolf S.

Yelp
If you're into miniature doll houses and figurines Then Taik Restauranti is the place for you because their Sushi is miniature size or should I say microscopic for the price of a regular Sushi. "Tiny Taiki Tic Tac Sushi Bites" should be there slogan "Overpriced for tiny size" another slogan "Tic Tac Sushi" Great service, outrageous price

Michelle P.

Yelp
That toro tartare with crispy rice is *chef's kiss* Cute & cozy restaurant. Walked in and they had space at the sushi bar. Menu is small but they seem to do everything well based on what I tasted. Think they might have HH so want to swing by for that soon.

Darren Z.

Yelp
Really great sushi for not a lot of $ - best bang for your buck you'll ever get. The service was really great too. Will definitely be going back soon!

Kristin S.

Yelp
Amazing sushi and great service. Came here for dinner during the week and was able to order off the happy hour menu (6-7pm). Cocktails were unique recipes made with sake and tasted great but the cup size was so small - honestly this is why I'm not rating this place 5 stars. The drink was smaller than the portion given in a glass of wine, which wasn't worth the $9 hh price let alone the $12 regular price. On the other hand, the 6 piece omakase from the hh menu ($24) was really good. The fish was fresh and the sushi was well made. The other things we ordered off the regular menu was the monkfish karaage, yellowtail and scallion sushi roll, and bluefin tuna tasting otanoshimi plate. The monkfish karaage was good but not great and was just fried in normal fried chicken batter and could've used a sauce - nothing like typical karaage batter. The yellowtail and scallion roll was really good and the bluefin tuna plate was amazing - 5 pieces of different tuna sushi with varying degrees of fat and flavor. The 3 fatty tuna pieces (otoro, chutoro, and hagashi Toro) were so amazing and melt in your mouth. Overall, the sushi and the service are a 5/5 and I would definitely come back again

Kam M.

Yelp
Great sushi restaurant, friendly stuff, fun, and amazing chef!

Vivian Z.

Yelp
Over rated. Pricy of what I'm getting. Omakase was..... Unexpectedly ..... not up to my standard. I could taste better elsewhere with this price.

Brendan D.

Yelp
This place absolutely rules. Toro tartare will make you believe in a higher power. 10/10

Yelp
So we're cheaters. I admit I felt bad about it but got over it since it was sanctioned by my wife. Actually, it was her idea & reservation. We went to try a new sushi place a bit of the path. Was it worth it? You bet. Variety is the spice of life they say and we're such sushi lovers that not having a deeper bench didn't benefit us in the least. So enter Taiki. We dove right in and ordered the Gazpacho & yellowtail sashimi salad. Both great starts and the Gazpacho gets an extra bump because it's so not what you'd expect, but in a really good way. The sashimi salad melts in your mouth. I mean, it's ridiculous. For our mains we had to have the blue fin toro tasting. Then we opted for sushi of Japanese yellowtail, golden amberjack, salmon & toro scallion roll. It took a bit of time to come out but our server was so on top of things it didn't matter. Water filled consistently and appropriate check-ins. When it did come -all we could say was wow. That and where'd it go. Yes, we are it all, possibly too quickly. After digesting we realized we had to do a second round. It may have been gluttonous but it was worth it. It's only been around a little while and not in the usual mix of Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill/Gowanus restaurants. But if you're after fresh fish that melts in your mouth check them out. It is glorious.

Lynn M.

Yelp
I am just handing out these five stars right now. Come get them while I'm feeling nice. My dad took me to Taiki as a special treat. As a broke millennial, sushi is not something I can easily come by. So I was prepared for this meal. My dad happens to know Taiki, the head chef, so he just asked Taiki to give us whatever he thinks is best. I love doing this because I certainly trust the chef more than myself. I was sitting at the bar so I could see the whole process. It's an ART. It was incredible to watch him calmly make one order after another. I cannot actually name everything I had but all of it was really beyond anything I've ever had. The fish is not too fishy but still carries so much flavor. The texture was always on point. I had an eggplant appetizer dish and the flavor was the perfect mix of sweet and salty. They have a dessert that was insane. I can't remember it right now (will update later). I was very shocked that someone came in and started asking about vegetarian options. I love my veg friends but I gotta keep it real right now. Don't go here if you can't eat fish. It's just kind of .... pointless! The true experience of this place is appreciating the fresh fish. This is not tofu teriyaki bento box type of place (love me some of those as well, not throwing shade) so there are way fewer options. But if you want to be in the presence of Taiki, I understand you ;)

Yelp
Tried this spot for the first time with my girlfriend last evening. I'm usually a little underwhelmed by most sushi bars I've tried in Brooklyn, but just about everything we tried here was excellent quality. Standouts included the king salmon and a whitefish called "naked head." Worth the triple dollar signs in our opinion. Very chill environment inside. Not very crowded which was surprising. Will definitely come here again the next time we feel like splurging on good omakase.

Leslie C.

Yelp
Surprised that a new restaurant can immediately find a spot amongst the best Omakase in New York, but here we are. One of the more intimate sushi bars in the city, the main attraction is the bar itself, where chef Taiki works his magic and masterfully dispenses tasty morsels from the sea. We had the extremely reasonable $60 Omakase on our visit, and every piece was stellar - no misfires. The tuna and uni, in particular, were very strong and induced us to add a negitoro and uni/scallop roll to our evening, and neither disappointed. The monkfish karaage appetizer was completely standout and a welcome take on the chicken dish. We'll be ordering that again. We went before the liquor license came through, but we're eager to go back and try what they offer there too.

Jeffrey M J.

Yelp
Really Great Small Sushi Bar!! Cool Neighborhood! Really Nice Happy Staff! Excellent Everything!

Ken K.

Yelp
This was our first visit to Taiki. We arrived a little past 8 pm and several items were already not available. The waitstaff were extremely pleasant and helpful despite the restaurant being crowded. We enjoyed our eggplant appetizer and the crab cakes. Once we finished our appetizers Chef Taiki began yelling and screaming across the restaurant at a female and male wait persons. He continued to yell and demean these employees in front of a nearly full restaurant. This made us extremely uncomfortable. As it turned out the waitress had given our order to other customers causing the Chef to yell and scream. While friends of mine love this restaurant I will not ever patronize this Place again. No it's not alright to treat anyone the way Chef Taiki treated his employees in front of me and many other customers.

Robyn H.

Yelp
We went there because it was down the block from where we were staying. The restaurant is small, and because we were a bigger group (6), we were placed in a dark corner in the back. It felt a bit stuffy. Service was exceptionally slow. The 12-piece omakase didn't really fill me up. Thank goodness for the leftover rolls the kids did not finish. It was really just okay.

Sol C.

Yelp
Delicious, melt-in-your-mouth sushi. Highlights included the seared belly sushi trio (see picture - we ordered two), and the uni scallop roll. I also lived their innovative use of shishito in a sushi roll! Service was fine and the restaurant itself is beautiful and peaceful. Only downside was how pricey the food was and portions were small. I could've kept eating and eating but my wallet just couldn't handle it!

Sera I.

Yelp
Met a few coworkers for dinner here this past week. Service was amazing, our server was super friendly. We ordered the Omakase sushi, some hagashi toro and a few appetizers (Toro Tartare, Monkifish and calamari) This probably one of the sushi restaurants I've been to. I am still dreaming about the Hagashi Toro. Highly recommend this place.

Allison C.

Yelp
This place is SO good. Not just the best sushi in Brooklyn but among the top in all of NYC (seriously!). The quality of the fish is top notch, and the chef knows how to bring out the essence of each piece. On top of the sushi, the monkfish karaage, grilled romaine and toro tartare are delicious. We're still working our way through the menu though. We came here pretty regularly, pre-COVID and there was always a great bustling atmosphere. Since COVID, we've only done takeout but each time the food is fantastic and very thoughtfully packaged. We plan to try outdoor dining soon!

Amber E.

Yelp
I just had one of the best meals I've ever had tonight at Taiki. Simply superb and so well executed. My date and I decided on the tasting menu for 2 - at $150 it was worth every penny!! From the yellow tail to the miso chowder, to the eggplant & shishito in soy broth to the sushi & sashimi entrees. I cant say enough about how delicious, fresh, beautifully arranged everything was. If we weren't in public we would have licked the plates! I would highly highly recommend Taiki to anyone looking for a low key sushi experience that is anything but low key on the palate!

Minh-Ha P.

Yelp
LOOOOOVE this place. Service + food are absolutely stellar. Along w/ the sushi, make sure to order the agedashi eggplant!

Mike B.

Yelp
Cute small Japanese restaurant around the corner. A good place to eat while your in a diet because of the tiny portions (food & drink). Food is tasty and portions small.

Barbara G.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem; you'd never expect this amazing little restaurant in this neck of the woods (quiet side street with not much going on). Love the minimalist decor, intimate setting, and the EXCEPTIONALLY high quality of the fish. On the eve my dashing hubby and I dined, we enjoyed the Otoro, Japanese Butterfish and Rainbow Runner. All were amazingly fresh. The Tuna Tartar was fantastic. Sake as well as cocktails equally amazing. One sushi chef (the owner!) and a few support staff including the server; that's it. Highly recommend without reservation.

A B.

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience at Taiki. Excellent sushi, great drinks and Miguel our waiter was terrific.

Guzal R.

Yelp
Ordered omakase, yellow tail salad and 1 roll on caviar - fish didn't taste good at all : it was very chewy and didn't look like fresh fish. It was a waste of $200. Most of it ended up in the garbage. So disappointed.

Stack G.

Yelp
I came here on a moderately busy night. It's a cozy spot, very sophisticated and inviting--great lighting. We wer promptly seated by our bubbly server, Abilene. She was clear and attentive but not overbearing. The Food was clean, well presented, and tasty! Looking for fly japanese with good service? Check out Taiki Fa'sho~

Jud Y.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this lovely Sushi Chef, Taiki owned petit restaurant after an local event. Way later dinner time of 9:15pm than I wanted but tstk tstk aside it was my birthday! Besides two other tables, we were cordiality yet warmly entertained by both our lady server and Taiki himself! Visually minimalistic but full on texture, flavor, and perfect temperature. We had the knockout 10-spice and lime crusted Edamame, Toro Tartare, Deep Fried Monkfish and chef special Sashimi Omakase + NegiToro and UniScallop rolls. Ok the Hokkaido Scallop wrapped in Nori was pure buttery bliss and Aji and ChuToro just were cut with a bit of bulk and tapering off to a fine stream of freshness. Chef continued with SalmonTobiko Toll and ended this culinary bed wetting goodness of, of course, fluffiest almost pastry-like Tamago with a birthday candle (yes I turned one as in F21) The Chef Owner was all convo and laid back since we were the last customers closing the place and disclosed his previous position at Bond Sushi which in my opinion had gone downhill from mass discount exposure. You can tell he's a chill and laid back and wanting to make not so much "Sushi of Jiro Dreams" journey but great food skills and appreciation a la Brooklyn vibes. The music from Senegalese to Portuguese pop lent an audibly interesting landscape which we throughly enjoyed. We will be back, Taiki!! K-dog in tow....

Yelp
South Brooklyn has developed a well deserved reputation as a destination for high-quality restaurants of diverse cuisines. Taiki, which arrived in its Gowanus location two weeks ago, adds another sushi establishment to the select group of restaurants that define some the character of these communities. The gold leaf restaurant name sobreposed on chalk serving the times, set the tradition-conscious but also adventurous tone of the sushi bar, right at its front door. Once inside, diners can choose to sit at one of the nicely spaced tables - no need for fighting for elbow space - or at the sushi bar, where they will witness Chef Taiki himself in action. The sushi Omakase menu offered attractive prices ($50 for a 10-piece), for which Chef Taiki delivered a great selection. The sushis were traditional and in line with what you expect at high-end sushi places. Impeccable fish cut the right way, seasoned and served over a bed of warm rice. The menu also offers an inventive selection of appetizers, twisting Japanese staples to include novel techniques or ingredients to bring out better flavors. Mussel shishito peppers, and the miso chowder (its thicker and heartier than traditional miso) were great surprises, full of flavor and fun. We visited the restaurant the day after they received their liquor license, and the only two alcoholic beverages options were Aishi beer and one variety of sake, which turned out to be very good. This is a very good restaurant that brings a new class o sushi dining to a neighborhood that hadn't seen it. The prices are inviting, and anyone should save to visit this place. It's an absolute delight for mind and soul.

Yelp
Wow! Got take out amid the COVID crisis and had some of the most delicious sushi we've had in ages. Couldn't be more fresh and delightful. Try the scallop and amberback sashimi and the mushroom roll.

Yelp
Can't believe I forgot to write a review.....we ate here after my Japanese neighbour raved about it and she was right ! Love the ambience - the white painted brick - the clean feeling - nice lighting with plants. Very modern and unpretentious. And the food was not typical sushi bar food. The chef/owner clearly has his own vision and creativity and also excellent quality. We had the delicious edamame and the uni scallop roll was so good we ordered another. I had a beautiful cold sake and my husband had beer. Will definitely return. It was very pleasant to sit at the counter and watch the chef

Yelp
Love chef Taiki's sushi. The fish is always fresh and varied, the rice is top and the cocktails and drinks are great.

Yelp
The work of Taiki, the chef, is not only focusing trustworthy super solidness of taste, I am talking about its quality, aroma, and creativity, in terms of its body because it is clearly distinguished from other Japanese place - no matter how great and fancy they are-, I can almost grab the taste(honesty of truth) inside of my hand. When you walk around little bit inside of restaurant, if you have a chance to go to wash your hand, you will pick the every single food's scent gather together and touch your senses. It gives enough clue for your dishes in a way much promised. Certainly the chef is trying hard to offer almighty heart to you to feel what it is about. I really reluctant to mention it is food or Japanese sushi, sashimi, or edamame because those are beyond what you imagine about food. Miso soup, chef's special desert are so virgin so creative art form to me!
