Yelp
Fantastic spot in East Nashville sitting right on Gallatin Avenue that is not only pouring some tasty local brews, but is also slinging some tasty pies!
On a recent trip to Nashville, we always make it point to hit local breweries so Tailgate popped up in ALL of our searches...so, it was destiny that we ended up here! We tried to hit the downtown location, but it was too busy, so we found ourselves bellied up to a high top at this location and we could not have been happier!
We swung through on a Friday afternoon, and even though there was a decent amount of folks, you still felt safe with the distance between the tables and the other precautions the Tailgate crew is taking such as wearing face masks and ensuring all patrons do the same when they are not seated.
Service was phenomenal from the moment we entered to the moment we left! You start by ordering your initial drinks/food at the counter and once you find a spot, then the bartenders will keep your plates and cups full with standard table service. You can choose to close out upon initial order or just keep open if you may want a little more...and if I know Yelpers, y'all might as well just leave it on open and get you a few more things off the menu!
Of course, we grabbed a couple of beers each...It did take us a few minutes to land on what we wanted as they have 24 rotating taps from basic lagers and wheats to some funky and tasty sours, as well as a few stouts and even a cider! I am pretty plain when it comes to my beers, so I grabbed the Yellow Beer Lager and followed it up with the Lime Lager. Both were extra tasty, but the Lime Lager would be the one I would return for! My partner was a little more adventurous and went with the Pink Lemonade Shandy and followed it up with the Fruity Pebs. Both were very flavor forward and the shandy was tart, but still well balanced and drinkable! We got standard pours on all our beers, but if you prefer smaller pours with more varieties then you can grab the beer flight which will get you (4) 5 ounce pours.
Food wise we came here because we wanted beer and an afternoon snack to hold us over to dinner, so we opted for something lighter than pizza...even though the pizzas looked and sounded phenomenal! We grabbed the Buffalo Chicken Waffle Fries, which is one of the 12 varieties of fry you can get here! They range from basic cheese fries to taco, Nashville Hot Chicken, poutine or a create your own with any pizza toppings! Our fries were covered with a healthy amount of cheese, sauce and of course breaded chicken! It was exactly what we were after and paired really well with our beers!
Parking is a little tricky here, but they do have a small dedicated lot to the left that they share with surrounding businesses. While is seems limited, they do have it well marked with signage in the back and on the side. Also, it's free for a few hours...and let's be honest, if you are hanging there for 3+ hours you probably shouldn't be driving anywhere!
Overall, this place is definitely on our "must visit" list for when we head back to Nashville! From the service to the beers and food to the cleanliness and safety precautions, Tailgate really showed up and showed out for us! We will definitely be back and will be recommending the spot to anyone who will listen!
