"Award-winning TailGate Brewery opened a new taproom in East Nashville over the weekend at 811 Gallatin Road. Led by TailGate’s founder and brewmaster Wesley Keegan, TailGate is the largest brewhouse in Tennessee. At the brewery’s third taproom, expect 30 different beers on draft at all times, like at each of their other Nashville tasting rooms, plus a familiar menu. That’s everything from wings to giant pretzels, build-your-own pastas and pizzas, and even a pizza made with a cauliflower-crust for all those aboard that keto diet train. Pre-ordained pizzas range from familiar meat-lovers or veggie pizzas, plus more fun ones like mac and cheese or lasagna pie. TailGate’s newest space features the slightly irreverent artwork they’re known for —murals, tap handles, and even beer cans feature images brainstormed by Keegan & art director Drew Lord. This artwork often captures recognizable Nashville topics in a humorous light. Core staff members make cameos in the art, too. One wouldn’t necessarily think of a brewery as being kid-friendly, but TailGate is open to visitors of all ages and offers plenty of family-oriented events across the three locations, beyond providing kid-friendly pizza as an option. The brewery, founded in was founded in 2007 in San Diego, CA and relocated in 2014 to make Nashville its international headquarters. Since then, the brewery has grown from a 3 barrel system to a 50 barrel system, allowing for the three core can varieties to be joined by small batch, limited release craft beer. The new Nashville location is the third active brewery & taproom for the company, and also houses their experimental wild fermentation brewing system. TailGate Brewery East Nashville is open Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday: 11 a.m. – 11 p.m." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Awesome place! We went on a brewery tour. The service was great, German Pilsner was crisp and cold, and the Mexican pizza was to die for. I told my friend I wasn't hungry and then that pizza showed up and I couldn't stop raving. 100% recommend!

Logan Thompson

Google
One of the best breweries in Nashville! Tailgate has a plethora of different beers with frequent rotations on tap. There’s something for every beer lover. Their pizza is top notch and a must have if you’re dining in. I also enjoy their traditional wings and their appetizers.

Not my cup of tea. “Garlic Knots” were not knots but basically biscuits with cheese and raw minced garlic poured on top- disgusting. Pizza is subpar - husband had the Buffalo chicken, which seemed to have crust, cheese, chicken, with franks buffalo drizzled. I had the Tye-Dye, which was strange. They put the sauce on top of the cheese then a few dollops of ricotta - cold ricotta. Made the pizza cold and the whole concept would be better executed as a dip rather than a pizza. They don’t have salt/pepper shakers or parm. Gave me tiny packets of pepper instead. Had to request utensils and received the cheapest plastic ware that broke when using. I don’t like to eat with hands but using the utensils I risks broken plastic in my food. Very expensive for what you get. I enjoyed the hard cider, but overall… I would not recommend.

Love love love!! Came here as part of a brew hop tour (my friend and I are visiting from Canada), we were so happy with this spot. The music was great and staff was friendly. We ordered the burrata pizza and added the hot honey drizzle which was a good move, 10/10. I really liked the passionfruit yuzu drink that I ordered.

Google
Great brewery & awesome staff! They have a great selection of beer on tap. The bartender was very helpful in helping us in our beer selection since this was our first time here, even giving us a few samples prior to making our beer selection. The Hot Honey Pizza was absolutely amazing & the crust was cooked perfectly!! The loaded taco fries were good too, but beware, this is a large portion & is definitely a shareable appetizer! Next time we are Nashville, we will definitely be stopping here again!

Tracy Kennedy

Google
Shared Nashville hot bone-in wings and a Hot Honey pizza with friends. Fantastic! Great brew selection. We would highly recommend grabbing a brew and food here! Reasonable prices too.

Google
This is a fantastic place to come, the orange wheat beer is sooo good. Also the pizza is to die for, we recommend the Detroit style. We would definitely recommend checking them out when in Nashville.

Google
We stopped into Tailgate Brewery the first night we got into Nashville. Hands down the BEST Detroit style pizza we have ever had. Wonderful service and atmosphere, all of the drinks we had were so flavorful and absolutely delicious. Parker took the time to sit down and give us some recommendations for the rest of our trip which was very much appreciated! We will be recommending Tailgate to anyone that ever mentions visiting Nashville!!

Pamela C.

Yelp
Great Pizza! We ordered the meat lovers and the margarita Pizza round and they tasted fantastic. Not one slice left! We also order 2 garden salads with creamy balsamic dressing, very fresh and good portion for 2 people. Grace took our order and was very sweet

Terri K.

Yelp
Pizza was really good! Ordered the Detroit style, if you like deep dish pizza then this is definitely the way to go. Beer selection was great! Love the patio dining, sat outside and watched the sun set while dinning. Staff was very friendly and helpful!

Kevin B.

Yelp
We love Tailgate and have been going to the original Charlotte location for years, but we finally ventured over to the East Nashville location last month. Parking is a bit trickier here as they only have a small dedicated lot to the left of the building (when looking at it straight on) and the parking lot in the back is off-limits as you'll get towed. We ended up parking a few blocks away and walking so it wasn't a big deal, but make sure you don't get towed. Service was great here (as it is at the other location) and the staff was very helpful. We got a flight of their IPAs and a glass of one of their sours and enjoyed a delicious margherita pie made with burrata; they had different pizzas here than at the main location, so it was nice to try something new. The beer was very tasty and their beer has been getting better and better over the years. The pizza was also great and we would definitely order that again. They also had the Yankees on, which was great and nothing goes better than baseball and beer. All in all, it's a great brewery/restaurant and we'd definitely come back!

Charles A.

Yelp
Great service!!! Garlic knots, first time I have had them like that, fantastic Pretzel bites were soft,,, like I like them Beer selection great Had a pizza liked all the toppings and the taste of the crust

Aireal S.

Yelp
Elijah the beertender's vibes were enough to make me come buy a beer from him & I dont even typically like beer. service was was great & he indeed let me try some beers that didn't even taste like beer. Went for the half price appetizers & loved my experience. Go see Elijah.

Jasmine C.

Yelp
I don't think you can ever go wrong with tailgate. It's always a chill vibe with some of the friendliest employees. The beer menu can be overwhelming in a good way to where you want to try them all. Pizzas, garlic knots, beers, and sandwiches are all top tier in my book. If you get a pizza make it "top shelf" always.

Ann H.

Yelp
Great local eatery with an assortment of pizzas, simple salads and a few sandwiches. Our hockey team was very happy here. The space is huge both inside and out with simple tables and benches. They have a great selection of craft beers which kept our hockey dads happy and while they don't sell hard alcohol they do have some frozen cocktails which was perfect on a sunny day on the patio.

Emily K.

Yelp
We love the beer, food and service at this location! Highly recommend this local brewery. It's such a chill vibe and you can't go wrong with anything on their menu!

Christina W.

Yelp
We love Tailgate! This location is very convenient, and the staff is always friendly. The mug club is a great thing too you get $2 off and a bigger glass, plus other discounts throughout the month. The whipped ricotta pizza is the best pizza. It's full of flavor! There are a decent about of tables and a few TVs. They have a few tables outside. Don't sleep on tailgate!

Jonora P.

Yelp
This Brewery was great. Cool laid back environment tons of drink options but I was there for the pizza and wings. Nashville Hot Wings are great as well. This is a great spot to have a beer and watch the game. The staff were great and attentive.

Alyssa C.

Yelp
Super fast service even when the bar was busy. Great seltzer options on tap for those of us who can't drink beer. Variety of seating for different party sizes - we were able to seat ourselves immediately as a party of 6. The Cobb salad was really good - probably one of the better Cobb salads I've had. Really fresh ingredients and juicy, not dry, chicken. Loved creamy dressing that it comes with. Parking is... a pain... you can't park directly behind the building because it's owned by another restaurant so you have to park across the side street or on the residential streets that are *painfully* narrow.

Neek C.

Yelp
This colorful taproom was great. I learned that all the artwork is done by one person and the service was elite. The Birria grilled cheese was tender yet the sourdough gave it some crunch. Always get your pizza top shelf because extra herbs and cheese. The whipped ricotta pizza was great. Overall, definitely coming back to try a pizza Detroit style.

Vanessa L.

Yelp
Came here for lunch. Service was quick and everything was clean. We started off with the loaded fries. They were very good. The fries were crispy and the spicy ranch sauce on top was very good. We had a gluten free veggie pizza and the Nashville pizza. The gluten free pizza was good and they do not skimp on toppings! It was delicious. My husband said his Nashville pizza was the best pizza he's had in TN. He had 3 different IPAs and liked all of them. Cool place with good vibe. You should go!

Jane Hayse R.

Yelp
What a fun place to hang out! Love the pickle pizza- yummy!!! It was extremely hot the day we went but there was plenty of shade. I love that we could bring our dog!!

Anderson V.

Yelp
If you're in Nashville and in the East Nashville area area, you must come to Tailgate East Nashville! They have the best beer and their pizza is amazing. The atmosphere is great and everyone there is amazing. Definitely worth a visit!

Brandon M.

Yelp
My fav place to chill and have a beer! Staff is great and always super friend! Pizza is spot on!

Frank B.

Yelp
Ok great service and several TVs to watch your game. The beer was good but the pizza and bread garlic knots were some of the best I ever had. Stop by if you're in Nashville and grab some. You won't be disappointed. Music playing in the background. Parking is tricky so ask inside before you guys settle on a parking spot.

Kyle K.

Yelp
Good food and plenty of beer to choose from! Mug club is worth it! I recommend all the Tailgate locations

Anita C.

Yelp
We went to Tanger outlet mall and saw this place and decided to go because they have outdoor seating and we had our dog with us. The pizza is really good! We got meat lovers and added some veggies. The crust is amazing. I didn't get a beer but my bf did and liked their wheat beer.

Philip M.

Yelp
Stopped here while waiting for a flight. I intended to grab a quick bite and a beer, and found that the service and beer were excellent, but the food choices were basically bar snacks. If you're in the Nashville airport (BNA) and want a beer, this is a good choice. If you're looking for a meal as well, you might want to find something else.

Sierra J.

Yelp
We came to tailgate since it was close by another brewery we came from! They have a really wide selection and their pizza smells awesome (we didn't get any). I got a strawberry rhubarb beer and my husband got an ipa recommended by the bartender. It was great! We really enjoyed talking to Flip! He gave us some amazing suggestions for our time in Nashville that we really really enjoyed. We shared some cool New Orleans stories. They also pay for their employee benefits!!! We love a fair employer. Def check out tailgate and look for Flip!

Blake M.

Yelp
A great local pizza shop with a wide selection of house made brews. The price is a higher than what you'll pay at a chain ( about 60 for a beer, medium pizza and garlic knots) Quick turnaround time for pick up, they have clear signs at the door saying where you can park to avoid getting towed. Definitely need to keep a better eye on their website with ordering when I arrived they were sold out of the Cider I wanted, they did swap it for another. However more communication on it would be nice.

Amy M.

Yelp
We came here as the 5 points area was crazy busy and found this on our way back to our AirBnB. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was good but not great. We ordered a Hawaiian pizza, the whipped ricotta pizza, and the garlic knockers. For the whipped ricotta pizza I am not sure I loved the cold cheese on top, but with the hot honey it did have a good flavor. They did have a great beer selection.

Trisha C.

Yelp
The ambiance is fun and funky and brews are good. I had a pizza but it was disappointing. Could be a fluke; it's the only food I've ever ordered there. Crew members are friendly and attentive.

Krista H.

Yelp
Get your hiney to the East Nashville Tailgate ASAP! If you love delicious brews and friendly, knowledgeable customer service, East Nashville Tailgate has it going on! Special shout out to Danny and Katie; they were very helpful and so much fun! They will make you feel right at home. We both had flights and the real stand outs for us were the burbon oak barrel aged PBand J and The Tod. Actually it was all really delicious. No complaints here. And if that weren't enough, they also have some excellent pizzas. We got Chicago style with sausage, onions, bellpeppers and onion. Crispy, carmelized cheese edges with every bite! Scrumptious! So good, we'll be going back tomorrow!

Jennifer H.

Yelp
A weekly favorite in my group. We always love the excellent service and usually order cider and honey hot pizza. Pro Tip: You've got to ask for parm and chili flakes at the register when you order your food... it's not on the tables.

Francesca D.

Yelp
Delicious pizza and beer and great service. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Nashville!

Landon W.

Yelp
This brewery is so good! We get their honey glazed jalapeño pizza and it's one of the best pizzas I've ever had. We normally always do pick up but I know some of the locations have trivia which is a fun option in the evenings. The only downside is the price. We got wings and a pizza and it was over $50. This particular time we ordered bone in wings and got home to find boneless. I still think this is one of the best pizzas in Nashville though!

Maggie K.

Yelp
We visited this location (East Nashville) on a brewery tour on a Friday. We loved the beer, food, and hospitality so much that we visited the Music Row location the next day! The service at both locations was fantastic. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area!

Brian H.

Yelp
Every time we go, the staff is so nice! The pizza and beer are great as well. Get the Detroit style meat lovers pizza. It won't disappoint! Very kid friendly too.

Nicole T.

Yelp
Who is crazy enough to drive over 30 minutes for some pizza...? The answer is me! Would I do it again? I would in a heartbeat. That's how good the pizza is here! When I was traveling recently, I tried a slice of pizza at Tailgate Brewery at the Nashville airport. It was surprisingly really good, so I knew I wanted to order an entire pizza there to share with my partner so he could enjoy it too. I ended up ordering online the hot honey and the bbq chicken pizzas. We also got the spicy feta dip as an appetizer. For pizza, our favorite was the hot honey. It was perfectly flavored! I enjoyed the bbq chicken more than him, he said the bbq sauce on top was a little too thick but it didn't bother me. The spicy feta dip was also very good, the bread pieces that come with it is little pillows of pizza dough that we devoured on our 30 minute ride back home. Overall, loved the pizza and was happy to discover it was just as good as I remembered it. One of the best pizza places in Nashville!

Nik F.

Yelp
Absolutely one of our favorite places for pizza and brew. The ambience is cool and you can always watch some sports and meet some new friends. The bar staff is really friendly. But again the food is top-notch. For us it's the best pizza in Nashville.

Amber P.

Yelp
A great brewery and place to hang out in East Nashville! There was free parking and this brewery is easy to find. Plenty of seating at tables and the bar. The guys that were working when we were there were very friendly. We had a few beers and tried two different appetizers. The pretzel bites with cheese was the first choice. They were ok but the real winner was the garlic knockers. We got the small order but wished we would have gotten the large order. It's hard to find a food that everyone in our party loved and this was the one. They do have a variety of beer to choose from and other food as well. A wonderful place to hang out and enjoy a beer!

Damion D.

Yelp
Good spot, nice people and good pizza. I want to try other locations now. There is a lot of competition for pizza but I think they have a good take on what makes a good experienxe

Michelle C.

Yelp
What a fantastic experience! This place has such a great vibe and excellent beer! We went to the East Nashville location; I believe they have a total of 3 locations. You'll find something for everyone on their beer menu. They also have a great looking food menu but we only had drinks so I'm rating on beer, staff and atmosphere. We would definitely return next time we are in the area! And, if we lived here, we would absolutely be regulars. Shoutout to Brett, Scout and Fred for unbelievable service and for making us feel so welcome! Just go y'all, you won't be disappointed!

Zachary T.

Yelp
Great experience! Scout, Katie, and flip were lovely. Kitchen is hard working and the food is awesome!

James D.

Yelp
At least a dozen beers on tap, all brewed by them, as well as a couple different ciders and seltzers. Expect all styles of beer from lagers to ales, darks, lights, sours, IPA's. I found their IPA's to be a little disappointing. I tried maybe 4 or 5 different beers and discovered that their highest priced beers were their best tasting. Lots of indoor seating and a nice long bar, several tv's around, all with sporting events on. They do serve food from their in house kitchen and on Wednesday's all pizzas are half off for the entire day. We ordered a meat pizza, but were disappointed as it's advertised as craft pizza, but it's not. I really didn't find it much better than say Papa John's....and the pizzas are pricy!!!! They do offer small, medium and large size pizzas at least. They also serve french fries and a few other things as far as munchin. Beertenders are the best part of this place...they bust their a$$es and are super attentive and friendly, though as expected, some pour a better beer than others. We talked to Flip for a while and he was a really nice and cool dude with lots of information about Nashville for we touristy folk. Menu board is a bit confusing as different sized beers are in different colors of chalk, different size pours have certain symbols. Not all beers will be served in pints...some beers are 5 bucks for a pint (try the Nitro Peanut Butter Stout at this price), and some are 8 bucks for a half pour, so be careful on expecting everything to be poured as a full pint. Take your time deciphering the menu board or ask the beertenders. The rotate tons of limited edition one-off beers that they'll advertise through social media, but they are priced high!!! Double IPA's at 8 bucks a pint for example. Be careful on their merch prices...t-shirts are 29 bucks plus tax!!! I wanted to buy one, but nope, no way...this ain't a rock concert dude!!! You can park next door for free for up to 4 hours...no meters or anything, just park and walk in.

Sean W.

Yelp
I've gotten the desert pizza hear and it was nice so we decided to get the Large Nashville Hot chicken pizza for dinner. Ordered my pizza at 5pm and picked up at 5:35. When I got the pizza at the restaurant I knew that it looked dried out and so I asked for some sauce. Got the hot honey to dress it up. Never got this before so I thought maybe it was just me. Took a bite when I got home at 5:50 and the pizza tasted just as it looked - dried out and NOT fresh. I am pretty disappointed that I paid $33 for this crap. Could of had a fresh Costco pizza for $10. I won't be back for pizza.

Mrs. Keya E.

Yelp
Lupus Warriors Sponsored a Lupus Awareness Event and on one of the locations where we stopped for food and drinks we were in the outdoor dining area . It's a really nice place the staff were really friendly from Tailgate Brewery, after reviewing the menu the Taco Pizza was ordered. And when I say best pizza hands down NO other Pizza Place is touching this pizza, I don't care what they try to do it will not compete with The TACO PIZZA , I now order one every other wkend. Tailgate Brewery Awesome Job on the Taco Pizza it's thee Best Pizza Ever!

Kent H.

Yelp
Fantastic place for great brews and awesome pizza! They've got over 20 brew styles , which is rad- as well as Detroit and Classic style pizzas!

Sarah B.

Yelp
Tailgate has not only great beers but also fantastic pizza. I love that they are constantly rotating their beers and trying new unique flavors, but also keep around some classics. I've been to a few locations around Nashville and think Headquarters is my favorite location. The service is pretty good and they have very knowledgeable staff.

Brent G.

Yelp
Great place to eat pizza or new menu sandwiches. Great place to drink beer with many choices! I'm an IPA guy and always many choicest!!

Kevin L.

Yelp
Ordered the wings and they were delicious. We had a hard time finding a beer that tasted good enough to finish, but perhaps we are just used to the Alabama brews. Service was good. Atmosphere was just alright...

J D.

Yelp
Rey friendly blonde lady. (I didn't hear her name) we order. She talk to us awhile. The beers were fantastic. We only stopped to try the beers. I will definitely come back here when we are back in Nashville

John E.

Yelp
You can find this location of Tailgate Brewery at 811 Gallatin Ave, Nashville, TN 37206 in Eastwood (East Nashville). I ended up parking on the side street to the left of the brewery - someone said while we were there that it's easier to park at Kroger and walk the 1-2 blocks. The exterior resembles an old-time saloon a bit with a wood covered patio. The interior has lots of wood surfaces and plenty to look at including many pastel portraits on the walls (someone local presumably). Really surprised at how good this brewery is - I liked everything from the feel of the taproom to the beer to the food. We hit Tailgate for a late lunch having already hit a couple of places - the taplist is extensive (heard there were even more taps at other locations) - I think the only downside is the parking situation. For lunch I ordered the Reuben Sandwich with chips - I thought the sandwich good but maybe slightly light in portion size. I also had a slice of Pizza from my friend Will's pie - next time I'm sticking with the pizza for sure. The flights here come in fours as half-pours - pretty generous - many items on the taplist I wanted to sample so had a couple extra: * Passion Fruit, Mango, Peach Sour SHNACK Fruited Sour 4.2/5 - Super tasty, thick body with big tart fruit notes of mango, passion fruit and peach, finishes sticky sweet * Stout Brett Sour 3/5 - Didn't care for this much, registers very flat with a neutral flavor profile, the Brett is fairly subtle, roast backbone is very dull. * Passion Fruit, Raspberry, Mango Sour SHNACK Fruited Sour 4.1/5 - Tart raspberry balanced with sweet mango in this sour finishing sweet and a touch sticky. * Mango Guava Blood Orange Fruited Sour 4/5 - Tasty, somewhat bright with sweet mango and guava notes with a touch of Brett. * Blackberry, Raspberry, Red Currant, Dark Chocolate Sour SHNACK 4.3/5 - Like eating liquid chocolate covered berries, nice tart fruit notes, finishing creamy and sweet. * Blackberry Cobbler Sour SHNACK Fruited Sour 4.1/5 - Tasty tart blackberry in this somewhat smoothie-ish sour with cinnamon notes, graham cracker and a creamy sweet finish. We sat at the bar and service was exceptional - also had a great conversation with a local regarding the beers here and what to do locally. In all a great lunch.

Doug G.

Yelp
Fantastic spot in East Nashville sitting right on Gallatin Avenue that is not only pouring some tasty local brews, but is also slinging some tasty pies! On a recent trip to Nashville, we always make it point to hit local breweries so Tailgate popped up in ALL of our searches...so, it was destiny that we ended up here! We tried to hit the downtown location, but it was too busy, so we found ourselves bellied up to a high top at this location and we could not have been happier! We swung through on a Friday afternoon, and even though there was a decent amount of folks, you still felt safe with the distance between the tables and the other precautions the Tailgate crew is taking such as wearing face masks and ensuring all patrons do the same when they are not seated. Service was phenomenal from the moment we entered to the moment we left! You start by ordering your initial drinks/food at the counter and once you find a spot, then the bartenders will keep your plates and cups full with standard table service. You can choose to close out upon initial order or just keep open if you may want a little more...and if I know Yelpers, y'all might as well just leave it on open and get you a few more things off the menu! Of course, we grabbed a couple of beers each...It did take us a few minutes to land on what we wanted as they have 24 rotating taps from basic lagers and wheats to some funky and tasty sours, as well as a few stouts and even a cider! I am pretty plain when it comes to my beers, so I grabbed the Yellow Beer Lager and followed it up with the Lime Lager. Both were extra tasty, but the Lime Lager would be the one I would return for! My partner was a little more adventurous and went with the Pink Lemonade Shandy and followed it up with the Fruity Pebs. Both were very flavor forward and the shandy was tart, but still well balanced and drinkable! We got standard pours on all our beers, but if you prefer smaller pours with more varieties then you can grab the beer flight which will get you (4) 5 ounce pours. Food wise we came here because we wanted beer and an afternoon snack to hold us over to dinner, so we opted for something lighter than pizza...even though the pizzas looked and sounded phenomenal! We grabbed the Buffalo Chicken Waffle Fries, which is one of the 12 varieties of fry you can get here! They range from basic cheese fries to taco, Nashville Hot Chicken, poutine or a create your own with any pizza toppings! Our fries were covered with a healthy amount of cheese, sauce and of course breaded chicken! It was exactly what we were after and paired really well with our beers! Parking is a little tricky here, but they do have a small dedicated lot to the left that they share with surrounding businesses. While is seems limited, they do have it well marked with signage in the back and on the side. Also, it's free for a few hours...and let's be honest, if you are hanging there for 3+ hours you probably shouldn't be driving anywhere! Overall, this place is definitely on our "must visit" list for when we head back to Nashville! From the service to the beers and food to the cleanliness and safety precautions, Tailgate really showed up and showed out for us! We will definitely be back and will be recommending the spot to anyone who will listen!

Lindsay O.

Yelp
Decided to walk down the street for some local beers. I got a flight of sours and one stout. They were very good. The key lime pie one was my favorite. They have a nice little outdoor patio that is dog friendly, but a bigger indoor area. The bathrooms are nice and clean and unisex. On Friday and Saturday they're open from 11 am to 11 pm. If you go just down the side street, you'll find some free street parking. They also do flights, which I appreciate since I'm never sure what beer I want.

Bradley C.

Yelp
This is my favorite spot for pizza & beer! We have a club membership that is totally worth it the orange wheat is amazing!

Becca C.

Yelp
Absolutely loved our visit to Tailgate Brewery. Friendly staff and amazing pizza. Highly recommend checking this place out.
