Yelp
I don't know what they do with it but I'm pretty much addicted to Indian food and I have to have it at least once a week. As you can imagine, road tripping through Oregon (from California) was not the most gastronomically pleasing experience for me so it was really amazing to find such a place en route back to California!
Decor 5/5: You can tell that Taj really values cleanliness - from the Tables, buffet presentation to the bathroom. Everything was very well taken care of!
Food 4.5/5: Really should be 5/5 given the surroundings, but personally I personally give it 4.5 because a lot of the dishes seemed to lack spice! (this is probably run by north indian folks?). On the other hand, The North Indian foods - tandoori chicken, naan and they even offered ROTI at one point, were fantastic! The buffet is split into two tables:
Table 1 - mostly your salad bar, with fruits, chutney and dessert
Table 2 - you have your curries, aloo mutter, rice, naan etc here
Selection is pretty decent and otherwise the food was great (minus the spice). I do want to also note that the butter chicken is a little off (I think they might have skipped tomato?), but their curry chicken is great!
Service 4/5: This was the most unappealing aspect given the other great things about Taj Indian Cuisine so I saved it for last. Service was a definitely quite fast - they clean ur plates as soon as you leave and they refill the buffet rather quickly when needed. However, this also seemed to mean that they we're also very quick to shut things down when the buffet ended at 3pm. Turned the music off, asked us for last servings and broke down the whole buffet table all within 10 minutes. I guess it's reasonable given that their hours are explicitly labeled but still a little disappointing to see this sort of behavior as I was still in the middle of enjoying the buffet.
Pro-tip - Arrive at least an hour before closing times!
