Taj Mahal

Love this place! Me and my best friend always come here when we're craving Indian food, and we're always satisfied! We usually order the Chicken Tiki Masala and the Butter Chicken, and we're never disappointed!

I greatly enjoyed their food and the quiet, intimate space. The samosas and samosas chat were incredible! You almost feel as if you're in a person's home. Great spot, will definitely be back for casual lunches and whenever I'm craving Indian food.

We moved down to the south side a few months ago, and needed to find a good Indian place closer to us than Devon Avenue. We've now been to Taj Mahal five or six times, and it's become our favorite place. It's BYOB, which is nice, small and very affordable. The food is great. The staff is very friendly. We've taken family and friends from out of town here, and everyone has raved about it.

The worst Indian food i have ever eaten in my life. No flavor at all :( This place used to be amazing few years back, best biryani... I think the owners (and the chef) changed and it went from being a 5 star place to a -5 star one. I really wish, i could give -5 stars.

Just went to Taj Mahal today for the first time with a friend - I'm Indian and she is Pakistani. Probably some of the hardest critics since we have basically grown up with some of this food. A couple of the reviews in the past weren't that great but we honestly enjoyed the food! We found out that the place has had a change of owners recently. So that may be a factor to take into consideration when reading reviews for this place. We were really impressed, it truly was authentic food! Enjoyed the biryani lots - typical for North Indians and Pakistanis. Definitely would recommend this place for students around UIC campus. The only thing I docked a star for was because I found it quite pricey compared to other restaurants (including Indian food) in the area.

Overwhelmingly spicy even though the items I ordered didn’t say they were spicy. Cheap frozen vegetables in my meal, no nuts and fruits in it like it says on the menu. The menu was very misleading. I’ve had korma many times and this was the worst ever.

worse ever, waste of money, do NOT go ! I ordered food for pick up, when I reached there they told me there was no samosa, he charged me extra for roti and did not add naan to the thali, worse--the entrees he told me in the thali were completely different than what I got . This is my first review ever and I only took this time to write it since I am wondering how this place functions in such a competitive market. WORST food ever, no salt !!! absolutely disgusted
