Tales And Feelings - Review - Cebu City - Cebu - The Infatuation

"Seating barely 20, this tiny place feels like one of the city’s well-kept secrets: climb an extremely narrow staircase, then ask for the table next to the glass panel, where you can watch a compact team of chefs prepare your dinner. Tales and Feelings takes detours around the world, from hamachi crudo to’nduja ravioli, before taking a U-turn back to the island with lapu-lapu (red grouper)-based dishes and a squid ink risotto with shrimp from Cebu’s famed Sibonga shrimp farms. You have to sacrifice looking polished for that risotto, which is our absolute favorite thing on the menu. There are some impressive wines available, so definitely order a glass or two, and ask for the off-menu chocolate mousse to cap off your date." - Chandra Joshua

This place surprised us, an unexpected finding in Cebu! The restaurant's atmosphere is cozy, almost western-style, but with a Filipino flavour and soul. We particularly appreciated the truffle dishes (including the fries!), and the extremely professional service by Aya and the chefs, who were also so kind to help us with our cumbersome luggage. Truly a beautiful evening and a lovely final memory of Cebu!

The food was stellar! I can’t emphasize enough how satisfying my dish was. I ordered the truffle pasta and my taste buds immediately fell in love. For only 24hrs in Cebu- this was THE best meal. Aya was also my server today and she was truly remarkable. So hospitable and kind.

First time visiting and first time Cebu, chose the spot because of the reviews. Small 2nd floor spot that is cozy. Ordered the Ceasar Salad, prawn ravioli, filet mignon and the Ube Parfait. Everything was good except I didn’t care for the prawn ravioli. Texture was dry and crunchy. Couldn’t eat and moved on to dessert. Which was a good way to end the meal. The only other thing is we shared the dishes and the share plates were way too small. But overall a good experience

We recently dined at Tales & Feelings to celebrate what would have been our beloved mother’s birthday. Though we lost her last year, my sisters, our cousin, and his family came together to honor her memory in a place that felt warm and thoughtful. The ambiance was cozy and inviting — perfect for a meaningful gathering. The food was beautifully prepared and full of flavor, and the staff were kind and accommodating, making the experience feel extra special. It was a lovely setting for both remembrance and togetherness. Thank you, Tales & Feelings, for helping us mark this day with grace.

Been here many times already and the service has always been good! The servers were always polite and accommodating. We always come back for their bruschetta - it's one of our faves. The mains we got this time were new on their menu and my personal fave was the seafood ravioli (forgot the exact name of the dish) 😋 as for dessert, i liked their chocolate mousse which had some bananas. Special thanks for the complimentary french toast (fave dessert we had at their Amber Hotel branch)!

The food was great, and the portions were generous. Everything was priced very reasonably, with a nice selection of wine. Highly recommend! To add, It was pouring outside, and my husband and I were a bit cold and damp when we arrived. We asked the staff if they could lower the AC, and they did so immediately. They were incredibly kind and attentive from the moment we arrived until the time we left. Will definitely go back

Came as a solo diner for my solo date. I’m very happy with everything—from the interiors, to the sweet staff who were considerate of my food allergies, to the delicious food. I had the salmon fillet and korean fried cauliflower. Both were exquisite. The place feels private and intimate and it’s perfect for couple dates as well. I will definitely come back to dine here.

I had been looking forward to dining at this restaurant for years. It had been on my bucket list for so long that when my partner and I finally got a reservation for our anniversary, I was genuinely excited. Sometimes, though, things don’t quite go as imagined. The place itself is quite small, which in itself isn’t an issue. I actually like cozy spaces. But the moment we walked in, I noticed a musty smell, almost like old dust lingering in the air. I have a pretty sensitive nose, and it immediately made me uncomfortable. Still, I told myself to stay positive. This was a place I’d dreamed of visiting, and I didn’t want to let a smell ruin the day. The food, to their credit, was clearly prepared with care. Presentation-wise, everything looked thoughtful and inviting. I ordered the risotto, which I was really excited about. But as soon as I took the first bite, I was hit with a strong, almost overwhelming cheesy smell. I’m not sure if there was a particular cheese in the recipe that dominated the dish, but it was too much for me. I only managed two spoonfuls before I had to stop. The other dishes we tried were… okay. I liked the mashed potato though. On the bright side, the staff were truly lovely :) warm, attentive, and professional. Unfortunately, we ended up leaving and dining somewhere else afterwards, just to truly enjoy a good meal on our special day. It wasn’t the experience I’d hoped for, but I still respect the effort the team put into their service and presentation.
