A Hot D.C. Taqueria Unveils a Bigger Home — And More August Openings | Eater DC

"At Dupont Circle, I saw a Miami taco spot putting down roots that’s birria-obsessed, serving the braised meat on tacos, ramen, pizza, and even stuffed in a grilled cheese; the menu also includes loaded churros, mangonadas, and tacos ranging from a vegan mushroom filling to Caribbean-marinated steak, and the bright interior with hand-painted murals and neon signage is built for late nights (hours extending to 4 a.m.), with the first 100 guests in line at 6 p.m. on opening day receiving a free order of its best-selling birria tacos." - Emily Venezky

I stopped by Talking Tacos in NW DC on Taco Tuesday 🌮✨ & had such a great experience from start to finish. The moment you walk in, the neon decor and colorful accents instantly grab your attention 💖💡such a VIBE ✨✨✨ One thing that really stood out was the touchscreen ordering system 📱. It was different but really cool, and made ordering quick & super easy. They also have an app which can make your experience much faster and easier depending on your preference. I started with a GUAVA Jarritos 🩷🥤…. so refreshing 😍 & perfect with the meal. I also tried the Sunrise Punch 🍹, which had a nice balance of flavor and sweetness to kick things off. They have literally EVERY Flavor which adds to the aesthetics to this place plus as well as your tastebuds options lol. For my entrée, I got the CALI BURRITO 🌯 with Shrimp 🍤🌯. I ordered it without the Takis & salsa… next time I’ll skip the rice 🍚 too since it made it super filling. The flavors were on point, fries were cooked perfectly & the portion could honestly feed two people easily 😅. It even came with nachos that were crispy, lightly salted, & the perfect little bonus on the side 🧀✨. The hot sauces 🌶️ on the table? SO freakin’ good 🔥😮‍💨…added the right amount of heat without doing the most. Now the service… 5 STARS across the board ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Jimmy took care of me from beginning to end. He was attentive, friendly, funny, & super helpful, especially since it was my first time there. His service was truly TOP TIER 💯👏 & I’m already looking forward to seeing him next time. Overall: Delicious food, great vibes, & amazing service from Jimmy. I’ll definitely be back soon to try the tacos, churros, & some more of those cool drinks 😋🌮🍮✨

Cute interior, good vibes. The vegan tacos were delicious and the loaded churros so very tasty. The horchata was not the best and the cheese was mild but better with the cilantro. The rice was pretty decent as well.

My bf & I were visiting DC & happened to stop in this spot while waiting for our train. That was the best decision we could’ve made. First of all, we spent like 20 minutes trying to figure out what we wanted because EVERYTHING on the menu looked soooo good. They had pictures for every single item including the drinks. The ambiance and customer service were top tier. Alejandro, Samantha, and Olga made sure we were well accommodated. The food was so good that we had to order more. We had the shrimp bowl (AVOCADO SAUCE IS SOOOO GOOD), birria ramen (I didn’t even know such a thing existed), bang bang shrimp tacos, and caribbean tacos. All were a 10/10. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone & wish I had a spot like this in my hometown.

Google
Ahhh what a great find. Delicious food right when we needed it the most. I got the carbbien tacos and it came with this amazing tomato soup. See photos of churros, they're inrecredible too. Very filling. Clean restaurant. They get busy but it moves. Highly recommend.

Google
This is the spot. Their food tastes great. All of the staff have great and attentive customer service. Their hochata tastes great, definitely try it. I got the birria, shrimp, and carne asada; all 3 are great. I also got sides (corn, rice, and beans) because I was hungry. Shout out to Sam for her customer service, making me feel welcome, and helping me with my to go order for my family. Love that they are all halal, this is why I drove all the way from Gainesville, Virginia.

Saw an ad on instagram a few weeks ago, so while traveling for work I had to stop… Real question is: is it worth the hype? YES, IT ABSOLUTELY IS! As a Latina, finding real flavor sometimes can be challenging, Specially, when you grew up eating certain type of food.. Talkin tacos hit the spot! Definitely coming back before my DC trip ends tomorrow. Staff was great and so pleasant! Restaurant was clean and some real good music was playing.. The amount of food was crazy so I took the rest to go For later today.. Even though I’m coming back tomorrow!

After an incredible drag show at DC Improv, my girlfriend and I were craving a quick bite and stumbled upon Talkin’ Tacos — and what a great find! The moment we walked in, I was impressed by how bright, fresh, and beautifully designed the space was. The setup is super convenient too — two self-order kiosks right at the entrance let you easily place your order for dine-in or takeout, complete with pictures of every item so you know exactly what you’re getting. The entire experience was fantastic — from the friendly service to the modern vibe — and the food did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was flavorful and satisfying, and the horchata was absolutely amazing. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
We got the birria tacos and the loaded nachos with chicken, and they were both exceptional! We also got the strawberry and mango lemonades. Everything exceeded our expectations! Firstly, the portion sizes are so generous and large. We couldn’t even finish everything between the two of us even though we were starving when we got here. Secondly, the food was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Their habanero and jalapeño sauces maxed it 10x better. The drinks were delicious, and they gave us free refills. Customer service was also amazing. This was overall such an incredible experience!! They also had beautiful murals and the general vibes were great. 10/5 can’t recommend enough!!!

Yelp
This place came highly recommended and so I had to try it for myself! One thing to note immediately is that the meat is halal (huge pull factor for one of my friends). We came in on a Thursday evening and it was packed. The place was a decent size, but every single table was taken; we got lucky that one family left as we were looking for seating - the staff cleaned up the table pretty quickly. When you come in, you place an order at the kiosk or at the counter. From there, you are provided a number and sit at an open table, where your food and drinks will then be brought out to you. I don't think we waited more than 10-15 minutes for everything to come out. I came in a group of 3, and we each ordered 3-4 tacos, drinks and some sides to share. They had a great selection of tacos (and other items), but I decided to go the basic route by ordering carne asada. Nonetheless, my tacos were good! I also tried my friends' tacos - they got some unique ones which I'm forgetting the names of. The chips and dips were good, as well as the street corn! I really enjoyed the food here, and the drinks were also good, I loved their lemonade options. Being in DC, you already know the parking situation.. there's available street parking everywhere and garages within a short walking distance in all directions.

This definitely can eaten by 2 people. This also came with nachos which were crispy, lightly salted and perfect to add on the side. The hot sauces on the table were actually SO good -- definitely added the right kick without being too overpowering. The service alone deserves 5 stars, Jimmy took care of me from beginning to end. He was attentive, friendly, funny, helpful and made sure I understood the menu and helped made sure I was happy especially it being my first time. His service was TOP TIER & I look forward to seeing him the next time I come by. Overall, delicious food, great vibes, & amazing service from Jimmy. Yelp
My husband and I loveddd this spot!! We randomly stopped in after a show at DC improv and are so happy we did. We particularly enjoyed the horchata! But also our tacos (we got a variety including birria, chicken, etc.) were wonderful and flavorful. The ambiance is so cool (check out mine/others' photos)!! We got our food to go and ordered on an iPad style kiosk - so not too much to say about the service for dine in. If we lived closer, we would frequent this place all the time!

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bite before a comedy show. Ordering is via kiosk. We ordered a Cali burrito, birra ramen and elote corn side. Everything came out separately. Unfortunately my food was last and my wife already ate half her meal by the time my burrito came out. The upside was the food was amazing! We loved every bite so the wait was worth it.

Yelp
As soon as you walk in, there's music playing in disco life. There's two kiosk to order food, which you don't get a receipt. They will call you by your name. It's self seating so if you go during dinner like we did, it was very, very busy and not a lot of seating spaces available. You can also order with the cashier. The Carne Asada tacos were good. I was not a fan of the tortillas. They were kind of hard now my husband ordered the Beria tacos. They were OK as well. We feel that the Beria soup could have had more flavor. The guacamole was delicious with the chips, crispy enough. The Horchata was a little different from what I'm used to. I'll give it an 8 out of 10. The guava jarrito drink always good. The servers are very attentive and helped us find a table for two. He did mention that the Horchata was free refills. I would like to come back and try other items on the menu.

Yelp
This place is all around awesome. Had the stomach growl after a long day this was one of a couple restaurants open close to my hotel. Walked in, and noticed all the brightly colored artwork on the walls. Orders are placed at the kiosk. It didn't talk long, I was tasting tacos. Semi packed on a Thursday night, food was ready in 10 minutes. The chicken achiote, bang bang shrimp and bean taco are amazing but the birria tacos are amazing.

Yelp
Loved the vibes and food!!! One of the best tacos ever. It is a very uptight place so it's best to just go by yourself or with one person. Big crowds won't be able to find a seat quickly! The service was also 10/10 and quick!!
google avatar

Yelp
I tried Talkin' Tacos for lunch and got the Birria Taco Salad. It was really good and super filling! I loved it came in a big tortilla bowl and it wasn't too soggy and soft. Only think I'd change is the corn... I wish it had a little more seasoning. The place itself is really cute and I loved the lighting and decor. Plus it's super convenient since it's right by my office. I am definitely coming back to try the Birria Ramen next time. Yummm!

Yelp
The positives I have of this place is their service was attentive and very nice. Their loaded fries were pretty good as well - fries were very crispy, all the loaded toppings were plentiful but not overwhelming. Their main concern I had was the birria Mac and cheese or birria ramen - not sure what the restaurant calls it. I may have misunderstood this as a purely Mexican spot but this felt very American trying to be a Mexican establishment. Something about the birria meat and the Mac and cheese combination was not blending well, and it made me go to the bathroom for about 30 minutes after. I took the Mac and cheese to go and had it later in the day in hopes that the upset stomach was a false alarm but I had to go to the bathroom once again.

Yelp
Super friendly and helpful staff! The place was super clean and had a good vibe. The food was so good -- I especially loved the street corn and the birria ramen. Definitely the standouts for me! The carne asada tacos were tasty too, but the corn tortillas were a bit too wet for my liking -- I prefer them a little drier. Still, the flavor was on point. Also tried the tortilla chips and pico de gallo -- fresh and yummy. Can't wait to go back and try more from the menu. That birria ramen and street corn are 100% must-haves.

C K.

Yelp
I would definitely not miss " talkin tacos " Great tacos. Huge portions and excellent service. Suggestion corn cup would be epic if it was grill street corn. Liqueur lic and epic margaritas would be a nice add.
google avatar

Rumit P.

Yelp
The service was great! My bean burrito was $16, so quite pricey for the portion. It was neatly cut diagonally in two pieces, tasted very fresh and flavorful, and was halal, so no pork or lard! The chips on the side didn't come with salsa so I asked for a small cup of pico de gallo. They do have the biggest variety of Jarritos these eyed have ever seen: tamarindo, cola, guava, mandarin, lime, watermelon, and many more! The hot sauces (jalapeño, habanero, and a third one) were all mild and bland. Ambiance is nice: loud, bright colors, TV on loop with a video of different food items being prepped. Two unisex restrooms!

Yelp
I was visiting from Richmond, Va and stopped to try the birria tacos. You order from a kiosk and staff was available to any questions especially Jimmy! The birria tacos were really good and I loved how they cooked the shell as it had such a nice crispiness. I will say the consomé was good but not as flavorful as I expected. I tried the mangonada which is one of their specialty drinks but I wasn't a fan and without asking the staff removed it from my ticket (I thought that was very nice). Love the decor especially the día de los muertos mural on the wall. I would definitely recommend this spot for tacos
google avatar

Priscilla D.

Yelp
My friend posted a picture of his meal here and I had to check it out. When I walked in one of the employees helped me navigate their ordering system and recommended a few things. I got the birria grilled cheese and took it to go. The restaurant looked clean and pretty busy for that time of day on a Saturday. I got home and devoured the grilled cheese. The side of tomato soup to dip the grilled cheese in was the icing on the cake. I would order this over and over again.
google avatar

Dani G.

Yelp
I ordered the elote corn, California burrito, and chips with guac, about $40 total. The elote was hands-down the highlight: generous portion, flavorful, and worth trying. The chips and guac were pretty standard and nothing I'd reorder. The California burrito was big enough for leftovers, but the flavor didn't wow me enough to want another or make a return trip for it. That said, the customer service was excellent, everyone was genuinely friendly and welcoming. The space is small, uniquely decorated, and has a cool setup: order from a kiosk, then they bring the food to your table. Overall, it was fine, but not a spot I'd crave or choose over other taco joints. Still, I'd say it's worth trying at least once for the service alone.

Yelp
Quick Facts - Shrimp and chicken tacos are standout. Easily some of the best in DC. - Neon lights, bold prints, and unique wakl decor make the space perfect for late-night runs. -Expect crowds and a slow line, but the food justifies the wait. - don't forget to try the churros
google avatar

Yelp
Walking in downtown D.C. around dinner time, the flashing neon lights drew me into Talkin Tacos, even though it's a non-local chain. Once inside, order from a tablet for takeout or for here. My shrimp burrito and blue lemonade took about ten minutes for takeout. The burrito was filling. Nothing phenomenal, but it was tasty, especially with the spicy sauce. The lemonade was sweet.

Yelp
This restaurant is SO CUTE! The decor is unmatched, I love it! It was very Dia de Los Muertos and I'm all about that! When we walked in there were two stations where you could order electronically, so we did that, as there didn't appear to be anyone at the register to take orders at the moment. I didn't love the electronic ordering bc I couldn't compare multiple items at the same time like I could do on a physical menu. We decided on birria tacos, al pastor tacos, bottled water and horchata. My friend had never had horchata before, which i thought was wild, but i digress. The establishment is small, but luckily a table just left. We went to claim the table as our own and almost immediately an employee was there to wipe down the remainder of the last patrons, thankfully! The birria tacos and out very quickly, which I'm assuming is because the meat is slow cooked and they just have to put em on the grill and melt the cheese. My friend said they were amazing and tried to give me her last one! At that point i was like wait, I ordered food, too! And we ordered and paid on one ticket. My friend went up to the counter to ask about my food and they were like what? The food never came out? I didn't realize there was more. They apologized and got the tacos out as quickly as one could! I will say, I was saddened they didn't have pork for the al pastor tacos, as I do not consume a lot of beef, but the steak al pastor was phenomenal! There was pineapple annnnnd pickled onions-- I've never had pickled onions on my al pastor tacos before, but it will become a request going forward. After we were done eating, we asked for boxes and I decided I needed a horchata for myself, to go. There was a gentleman with braids sitting on a stool at the register and I stood at the counter for a couple minutes without him acknowledging me or anything when a young lady came over and asked if I needed anything. I told her yes, I just wanted to order a horchata, and she told the fellow sitting down to take my order. I asked which was better, the regular horchata or the pumpkin spice and he said the classic, so that is what I ordered! I hovered by the counter where the orders are placed when they're ready for about 7-10 minutes, when I was finally like okay can some please tell me how long it takes for horchata? If it just happens to take a long time, that's fine, I can go sit back down. The guy that took my order was like omg you're still waiting on your horchata?? And immediately got up and poured it from a pitcher that was right there at the counter... so both of my orders were forgotten about, entirely, unfortunately. I will say, even though nothing i ordered was prioritized or ready in a reasonable amount of time, I would still go back. The employees were all very nice, I really liked the vibe of the place, and everything was delicious! Like, soooo good! I did take off the one star because.... like where's my food, now where's my drink?? But I do highly recommend!

Yelp
Great service from Ali, he was amazing! The chicken achiote was dope! The aesthetics were sick but food and service were the highlight of this evening!
google avatar

Tova B.

Yelp
We got take out during a move and it was great! We got the dip trio, birria tacos and a chicken quesadilla. We also had the street corn with talkis. I would totally recommend! The flavors were perfect and everything was hot by the time it got to us (and not soggy!)
google avatar

Yelp
Not gonna lie. This place is very fire the food is delicious!!! The ambiance was amazing. Service was fast. Was was ordering in the tablet. I had the brisket grilled cheese. It was sooooo good. I'm here eating the rest of it for breakfast. They give you a huge portion of food. You definitely get the bang for your buck. I'd come here again for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
I visited Talkin Tacos on a Wednesday evening. I was attending a company function at the new Onyx nightclub across the street. I wanted to step in and try as I love tacos. The establishment was pretty busy. This was around midnight. It has a decent size dining space. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The line was long but moved pretty swiftly. You order your food from the digital tablets stationed near the entrance. I ordered the shrimp tacos. The wait was pretty quick. They were made to order an extremely delicious. I'm more of a flour tortilla person, but the corn was OK. I definitely will be back.
google avatar

Tom C.

Yelp
Talkin' Tacos crushed it. The steak burrito was legit--juicy, well-seasoned, and stuffed just right. Guac was on point too: super fresh and full of flavor. The atmosphere was cool, kind of laid-back but still energetic. Service was crazy fast--I barely had time to scroll before the food landed. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Nick C.

Yelp
Really nice ambience. The birria was bland and too chunky not really the type of birria that I'm used to. It felt like there was no flavor to it
google avatar

Vallery R.

Yelp
Honestly, the shrimp tacos were not my personal favorite but I can see why other people would continue to order it moving forward. The chicken tacos were better, in my opinion. The location is disorganized. They bring out the orders incorrect and they have no actual system to make sure everyone receives what they order.
google avatar

Lonnie S.

Yelp
I really like this spot- And would get the birria tacos again and again. I think the consomme is really good.
google avatar

Kaya E.

Yelp
TALKIN TACOS got it! They rave that they are the best tacos on the East coast and I think that might be right. At least for the DC area these are the best tacos I've ever had. They are located right in the downtown area making parking a little bit tricky but definitely worth it. We tried their, + Mango lemonade (10/10 delicious) + Bang Bang Shrimp tacos (10/10, whatever sauce they put on this is so good) + Mahi mahi tacos (8/10) + Chips and pico (4/10) Their menu is one of a kind as they have a large variety of unique taco and burrito options including caribbean carne tacos that have plantains on them. I'm definitely giving that a try the next time I go. And there's even birria pizza, loaded fries and nachos. The pricing is standard for a taco shop in DC, $16 for 3 tacos. The tacos are corn tortillas and slightly bigger than a normal street taco size. The team was very kind and got our order out quickly. There's a lot going on inside of the restaurant with colors and lighting so I think I will almost always order to go. It's a very simple process online and doesn't take very long. Can't wait to eat here again and highly recommend if you've been looking for great tacos in DC.
google avatar

Nikita D.

Yelp
Great taco place that was open for late night bites. The food was delicious and they have a wide variety of drinks as well. We ordered the nachos, birria tacos, mahi tacos, and churros. My favorite was the mahi tacos and churros. The birria was good, but I've had better at other taco places. I really enjoyed the horchata and mangonada as well.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
The decor was nice inside the restaurant but the ambience wasn't. The staff were very disorganized and lots of customers were complaining that they didn't get their order. The carne asada tacos were very good. This is a good place for late night eats.
google avatar

Angel B.

Yelp
Still flawless! I came back again to my new favorite DC taco spot. I was curious if the food quality, taste and service would be the same; and honestly it was! The staff were so nice, the restaurant still looks so vibrant and fun, and the food was still top tier. I got my favorite flavor taco trio - the Caribbean Carne Tacos, and they were as tasty as ever! Honestly, the flavor combination is fire!!! Thank you Talkin Tacos for a flavorful visit!
google avatar

Fred B.

Yelp
Nice small place with Mexican music playing. Super fast attentive service. Hot fresh fast tacos that weee really good. Eat here!
google avatar

Anne-Olive N.

Yelp
Super yummy tacos! I've had them twice and have been great both times. They are well sauced with a good amount of toppings to balance out the whole taco. The horchata was a bit on the sweeter side but still yummy. For dessert, I tried churros which comes with caramel sauce and condensed milk - def recommend eating these hot. I got the Caribbean tacos which are a nice balance of sweet and savory! The fish and shrimp tacos were also yummy. The guac was nothing to rave about but still pretty solid. I would def come back to try other items on the menu.
google avatar

Antarjot K.

Yelp
This is a great spot to get quick halal friendly tacos! My friend had the carne asada and loved it! I personally got the following: Bang-Bang Shrimp taco 10/10 Fish taco 8/10 And shared Churros ( we did not get the sauces and regretted it because it wasn't too sweet.... 8/10 So be sure to get them to make it a 10/10!) Great spot and even though it's a fast food style place we were checked on and recommended 10/10 service The ambiance was very much sit and chat with friends over great food!

Yelp
I have 3 words Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy .. when it comes to customer service and knowledge he is the best ... the space was so clean u could practically eat of the floor and the service was excellent... Today is my birthday and he made me feel like a rockstar this place is down the street from the kennedy center and my go to for lunch if ur looking for something refreshing with good ingredients great management and even better service this is the place... my new lunch spot

Yelp
This place has certainly earned those stars. I've gone for dinner and lunch and the service has been exceptional- they are actively working on providing the best possible service by helping people at order kiosks, walking around and refilling drinks (including their special lemonade flavors!), and being very pleasant and present. The blue strawberry lemonade is tart and sweet without being too syrupy. The plantains were crazy soft and moist. Very flavorful. I tried three different tacos- carne asada (bland), birria (super cheesy and savory), and bang bang shrimp (by far the best!). We also tried the trio dips and chips- LOVE the loaded queso and the guacamole was very fresh with good sized chunks. I ordered the dulche de leche churros and the flavor was pretty good, not as soft as I personally like them but they give you a bunch of it- definitely more than enough to share. At night they have tons of colorful light and music (the pictures I loaded are all from night). Very fun atmosphere, just incredibly small. This is not built for a big group. 2-4 max but it's definitely worth eating there.

Chloe C.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick bite but ended up having a feast! The shrimp tacos were excellent, and the chicken quesadilla was juicy and full of flavor. What really stood out was the service -- even though it's a self-order (via kiosk), seat-yourself kind of place, the staff made sure everyone was well taken care of. They cleaned tables promptly as customers left, and the all-gender restrooms were spotless. This is a happy place.

Yelp
I love tacos and this place knows how to taco!!! My food was so good, it came out so fast and everything was really fresh. The place is so welcoming, I can't wait to return! I loved how fun it was, the decor, the beverages, the sweets, all 10 out of 10!

Yelp
This is honestly my new favorite taco spot and I don't even like tacos! I got the trio with Caribbean tacos, chicken and mahi mahi. They are all 10/10. I honestly Can't tell you which one of the three is my favorite because they were all so good. The Caribbean tacos had bits of plantains which added a nice sweet kick. My brother got the burrito and that was great as well. The rice was flavorful and the beans were so well done just like the steak. Guac was good and the pico was just okay. It is a smaller restaurant but love the decor and they play a lot of reggaeton. Service was incredible. The host was attentive and helped us order at the kiosk and gave us great recommendations. They brought our food directly to the table and were super attentive and provided free refills for the lemonade.

Yelp
Loved coming here after going to see the cherry blossoms. Quick walk from the metro and it was easy to order via their kiosk. Tacos came out quickly and were delicious. The shrimp taco was a great ombination of flavors, including the sauce. Only complaint is that the hot sauces on the table werent that good. Not enough flavor or kick. With better hot sauce, the tacos would have been 95/100 I'll be back sometime to try their other menu items!

Yelp
The food was good! I had the tacos, and the mahi mahi taco was the best. The strawberry lemonade was delicious! Oh, and the queso was delicioso! The service was great, and the ambiance was lively!

Yelp
I recently went here to get lunch to go and was extremely impressed with the fast service-I got my meal in less than five minutes. I ordered a chicken burrito and appreciated the relative affordability ($17 with tax), good portion size, and that they included several free chips. I liked the chicken-perfectly cooked and seasoned. However, there needed to be more of it. There also needed to be less rice and more beans in the burrito. The ingredients were not evenly distributed throughout the burrito, which meant that there was an overload of crema on one side which made that part too soggy and the other part too dry. Additionally, both salsas I requested were too sweet. I would recommend ordering tacos based on my experience if you plan to order from here.

Yelp
The southwest tacos are very good. The food comes out fast too! The lighting in there was pretty cool as well. You can tell they care about the look and feel, but the food is the best

Yelp
Decided to try this spot and It did not disappoint. The shrimp tacos were delish, the guacamole was really good, the street corn was just mid. Not pictured was the mahi mahi burrito which was amazing. Service was fairly quick and they'll bring your food to the table. This place isn't that big and It gets pretty busy. Don't go during rush hour, it's extremely busy and barely any parking. I'll be back to try a few other items.

Yelp
Multiple reviews claiming best tacos in dmv area.. cant say I'm mad at that. These tacos are LEGIT. I stopped in because this place was packed on a Tuesday afternoon - I had just picked up a sandwich from bub and pops across the street but this place looked buzzing and the decor/signage was inviting so curiosity got the best of me. Ordered a birria, a mahi mahi and a chicken taco and ALL were fantastic. Even the consommé that came with the birria was delicious (usually i have to add a touch of lime juice or a smidge of salt- this stuff needed nothing). I appreciate the to go packaging for the tacos too. Great selection of Jarritos flavors- saw a couple i don't see too often. Only complaint would be that the ordering system seemed to be behind. I had to ask about my order after waiting 30mins (quoted time from kiosk was 20mins), and they gave me my order.. then 30 minutes after that i actually got the text that it was ready. Oh well. Great addition to DC!

Yelp
food 8/10. Birria rice bowl was tasty and inner most part of the taco shell soft 8/10. The fries good and heavily flavored which is perfect. The Birria tacos 6.5/10 wasn't too seasoned. Also got the refried beans were good as well. Different cheese I ever experienced with Birria btw. The mango lemonade was great just needs to be delivered differently to avoid spilling. Quick service food came quick

Yelp
My partner and I love this as a quick take out option! The tomato ramen is really innovative and an all time hit in our house. The burrito, tacos, and taco salad are all safe options, tasty and pretty typical. But that ramen is the one! Oh and the blue mango drink was fire too. We always do take out but the inside reminds me of south beach or a laser tag place, very dark and lots of lights. The service is hit or miss but the food makes up for it!

Yelp
This place is... a lot. The meals are both delicious and ridiculously filling. After a slow staff start, they're getting their stuff together. Still not the greatest communication at the counter - is it my name, my number or do I have to ask? It's been all three on different visits. Meal-receipt times have dropped dramatically from the first month - was in and out in about 10 min recently after a kiosk order. Their queuing area for the kiosks is confusing and can lead to arguments over who's next, but hopefully they'll figure that out. There were 7 of us recently, and we sort of figured it out without argument. All that aside, their food is DELICIOUS. The birria in any form is drinkable. I would like it as soup. Truly a wonderful accompaniment. They could use a true salsa, but the guacamole and pico with chips are both good. Crispy stack wrap with either steak or birria is a must. Wife always gets a bowl with birria and loves it. Neither of us finishes our orders - it's a meaningful amount of food. A deep breath is occasionally necessary at the counter but worth it for any form of their birria.

Yelp
This is such a great spot, I highly recommend you to go check it out and try it. The service and the food make my experience amazing. The consomé quite different, never tried but I love it!!! The environment and colorful lights make me think of México. I love this restaurant and I will definitely come back as often as I can.....
