"Tam Deli is probably most well known for their bánh mì served on a crisp yet doughy homemade baguette. There are a lot of tasty options for bánh mì fillings, including fried butter garlic shrimp and chargrilled pork. Our go-to is the #10 combination sandwich that brings together pâté, roast pork, and roasted chicken alongside mayonnaise and bánh mì vegetables, making for a very delicious ersatz-Vietnamese chicken salad sandwich.  " - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion

"Tam Deli on North Lamar is a long-running casual cafe with a broad menu of Vietnamese dishes including spring rolls, pho, bánh xèo, and vermicelli bowls. They’re probably most well known for their bánh mì served on crisp yet doughy homemade baguette. There are a lot of tasty options for bánh mì fillings, including fried butter garlic shrimp and chargrilled pork. Our go-to is the #10 combination sandwich that brings together paté, roast pork, and roasted chicken alongside mayonnaise and bánh mì vegetables, making for a very delicious ersatz-Vietnamese chicken salad sandwich. Don’t skip the desserts, especially the delicate and airy French cream puffs. photo credit: Raphael Brion" - Raphael Brion

True hidden gem with best food and low prices. We’ve been goong here for years and havent seen he price increase since 5 years. Amazing food and down to earth hardworking people that run this store. I have so much respect for the older gentleman at the billing counter, despite his age he works hard and runs this restaurant. Their banh mi is to die for, so fresh and yummy. We always get their fresh kumquat lemonade, veg soup, jicama sprong rolls. This time we also tried their sweet sticky rice. Everything was so yum. One of the best and honest viet cuisines in austin.

Delicious, fresh banh mi sandwiches in a small unassuming place in a strip mall. Crisp and chewy fresh bread, nicely pickled fresh vegetables, some spice with jalapeños, and well-prepared meats make a great sandwich. The pate is lovely and smooth. But don't think that is all they do well. Then fried rice is also amazingly good. The owners are nice people as well.

My absolute favorite banh mi in Austin! The bread is always fresh and the char grilled pork is extremely flavorful. The owner is extremely kind to us when we visit. A great Austin gem.

Good food & clean space. The owner is very nice. They have most Vietnamese food that I can’t find anywhere else.

Best Bahn Mi I've ever had, always delicious. I believe I've tried almost all of them at this point, their menu is quite extensive. The fried egg rolls are also great. Still need to try the soups that everybody loves. Tiny, charming place with a lovely staff, great service and super affordable prices.

Stopped in for some banh mi and iced coffee, and they did not disappoint. Nothing fancy, clean enough place. Typical small business neighborhood Vietnamese eatery, like stepping into a portal into mid-2000s Austin.

I can’t believe this absolute gem of a place. The food is great, with incredible prices. The staff just warm my heart to see them. They deserve more business.

If you're looking for a tasty filling meal at an incredible value. This is the place. 20 bucks out the door for 2 really solid sandwiches is a great deal. Highly recommend.
