"Is Tamarind the best deli in LA? Hardly. However, it’s still a solid, affordable, and easy option when you’re stuck in Hollywood and not sure what you want to do with your life. The tiny location right off Sunset serves no-frills cold cut subs and sometimes that’s just what you want on a Wednesday afternoon. Save for a few tables out on the sidewalk, this isn’t really a sit-down place so plan to grab and go." - Brant Cox

"Your call time this morning at Sunset Gower Studios was 5am, but now it’s noon and you can’t see straight. Go even yourself out at Tamarind Deli. The little sandwich shop off Sunset isn’t serving the best subs in LA, but sometimes you just need to scarf down some cold cuts that don’t cost more than $10. There’s really no seating here save except for a few tables out front, so plan to walk and eat as you make your way back to the soundstage." - Brant Cox, Arden Shore

We’ve been coming here since we moved to Hollywood and the service is always amazing. The quality (can’t go wrong with Boars Head) has NEVER let me down and the sandwiches are huge.

Good lunchtime deli. I had worked in the area for some time and would frequent Tamarind Deli for a couple of their sandwiches. Price here are a bit high, but maybe warranted given the quality and location. If you enjoy a good slow cooked brisket with horseradish, then this is the spot, but arrive before 2:00 as it generally sells out.

The food here is great. The olive tapenade is incredible and the sauce on the potato salad, I could put this on everything I eat and be a very happy person. The parking situation sucks but I heard there is free parking in the college around the corner. The only thing I dock a star for is the temperature and lack of air in the actual deli. It was almost 100 today and I felt so bad for the employees working in these conditions. There was no circulation at all and it was uncomfortable just to wait for a sandwich in it.

The Tamarind Ave. Deli has a fairly small selection of sandwiches but they are all amazing. It is obvious that someone or several people for that matter out some great thought into each ingredient for each sandwich. My personal favorite is their Slow Cooked Beef Brisket sandwich. Besides an amazing slow cooked beef brisket, the sandwich also comes with a smoked mozzarella cheese, wonderful caramelized onions, their own homemade horseradish sauce and fresh greens. The meat and onions almost melt in your mouth. Where they may have a limited amount of sandwiches, they make up for that with a large selection of sodas you just can't find anywhere else these day. Bubble Up and Leninade lemonade are just a few of a very large selection. They have very limited seating both inside and out but most people get their sandwich to go as it is. They are surrounded by both the Gower Sunset and Sunset studios as well as Technicolor's corporate offices so they can very busy around the lunch hour. The trick is to phone in your order and then just run on over and pick it up later.

Absolutely the most outstanding quality sandwich in the immediate area. 10 total items on the menu. You cannot go wrong with any of them. Personal favorites = brisket, meatball sub.

Fast, awesome sandwiches. A little pricey for what you get, but the quality is amazing. My boyfriend usually gets double meat. I love their veggie sandwich and add turkey.

One of the best sandwich spots in Hollywood. Go for the Slow Cooked Brisket or the Prosciutto & Mozzarella. Great selection of sodas as well.

Great selection of sodas. #2 turkey sand was one of the best turkey sandwiches I've ever had. Shania was very helpful and sweet. We'll be back
