Tam's Burgers

I was at this Tam's two (2) weeks ago and ordered a pastrami sandwich which was nice and tasty. Why did I order three (3) today and the pastrami was extra, extra spicy. I should have known something was up, when the yellow bag was red instead of oily. Not everyone wants spicy food. One of my friends ate it with no problem, I will NEVER eat at this place again, because I'm sure they did this on purpose. Horrible

I've been going to this location for over 25yrs. The food has always been good. It's great for after the club, feed the alcohol food. But now a days my family loves the breakfast. Customer service has always been pretty good. But now that all the TV and rapper publicity they have gotten very busy. Great for them and business. Bad for ppl who hate long lines. Definitely a to go order place, not an eat in place.

The wait is long even if you order one thing, if you order a large drink they will skimp you and still charge you full price.

Good food. Fries are well seasoned, not salty, and crispy. Chicken strips were good, too. Small dining area but the people were nice and friendly.

hey guys! I just wanted to say.... the food here was MUSTAAAAAAAARD!!! It was fire and I needed to say that other food places are NOT LIKE US!!! I will never eat anywhere else again. I need nothing else to sustain my being!!! The hotdog with MUSTAAAAAAAAAARD!!!! was so diddy blud!!! but I realised they were (not) LIKE US!!!! Turn his TV off!!!!!! I will sell my children into slavery just for another opportunity to eat here!!!!!

Please stop hiring lazy people. Idk if it's the cashier, or the cooks that can't get it right. Either they can't read or follow simple insructions. DON'T spend your money here.

I was asked to pick up food for a client at this location & I ordered the tacos since I never tried their tacos before, I ordered 2 ground beef tacos & 2 chicken tacos for myself & the chicken tacos was better than the beef tacos. I would definitely order the chicken tacos again & I would try the carne asada tacos on my next visit. Service was great & the staff from the cashier to the cooks was awesome & to my opinion they work well together because the cook was listening to me making my order & wanted to make sure the cashier understood what I was ordering when I mentioned 2 beef tacos since there are 2 options which is ground beef & steak & my client wanted the ground beef. The lobby was clean, the parking lot was clean also although the parking lot was not big there was enough parking & most customers went through the drive thru.

Here because Kendrick put this place on the map due to his music video. AMBIANCE: Parking: Plaza parking but limited, room for about 20 cars Seating: Inside seating, good for small groups, maybe about 8 groups with 4 people each. Vibes: Compton has gems all over the area, this is pretty close to Compton College. The spot itself is nothing too flashy. They recently added a mural celebrating Kendrick's Not Like Us. music video. Aside from that, it was nothing too flashy, just your usual fast food joint. You'll hear the hustle and bustle of the employees working hard. Great place to chill or grab and go. FOOD: Bacon Cheeseburger (Recommend) Or what I call it the Wop wop wop wop whopper with some extra mustard on the beat. They say it's Kendrick's favorite. Verdict: Not the best but it does deliver - fulfilling, good amount of tomato, pickle, lettuce, mayo spread, cooked burger, slices of bacon, and a pretty big bun. Mix it with the free hot chili peppers for a good kick. Fries (Recommend) Solid. Savory, good crunch, and reasonable portion. This complemented the burger very well. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Awesome! Business started picking up for them during lunch TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. I know it's not gourmet or anything but I dig it! Reasonable prices, solid food, and good range! I know Hawkins Burgers may take the crown but it's the comfort and wide amount of selections that I feel makes this a fan favorite. If you happen to be in this area and want a taste of Compton, check it out! TIPS: * They got a drive through! * This was also featured in 2022 Super Bowl

TURN HIS TV OFF. Amazing service, yummy burgers, and ambiance is off the charts. It's a classic for a reason.

Tam's is cool and I've eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner from them. I've tried burgers, sandwiches, burritos, pancakes (my favorite), eggs, bacon,etc. and have no complaints this is always a spot it's kinda the norm but always good.

Had to come to the iconic Tams #21 for the epic colossal burger and the hot, well seasoned, signature fries. The service is decent and the prices are reasonable. The inside of the restaurant is worn and graffiti ridden from the seating on to the bathroom, but honestly this is the norm for this type of establishment. If you don't want to deal with the inside, they have a convenient drive through window to order and get your fix of chargrilled greatness.

Great service and solid prices here. Food is yummy and always fast. Still one of the best BLT and fries combos out here

Got the pastrami double cheeseburger with fries, portions were pretty big and the taste was adequate but something about it just screamed low quality, the bun definitely was low quality, the fries were very plain. Kinda odd since the price of the meal was 20.99. The place was a little rundown and not kept well, the people were friendly. Not the worse place in town but definitely their quality and pricing doesn't align.

In a trek to find the important spots of West Coast Hip-Hop lore, I accompanied a friend to Tam's Burgers #21. The $1 burgers are no longer $1, but they are $4 now, which is about right. $4.49 for a cheeseburger, $7.99 for a bacon burger. Fries are $3.99. Cheeseburger - You get one wide thin patty that is flat grilled, shredded lettuce, tomato and special sauce on big hamburger bun. The bun is also quick toasted on the grill. It's a good sized burger that will fill you up. Nothing about it really stood out, it's about the same as most local burger spots. Fries - You get your money's worth with the fries, one order is enough for two people to split. They are medium thick, crispy and come with seasoned salt sprinkled on top. Maybe there is some late night rap history here, but don't expect anything crazy with the food. It's a local breakfast/burrito/burger place that's open 24 hours and it serves its purpose.

Good food and large portion for the price. I ordered a tuna salad, and I swear I could have had this for 3 separate meals. The amount of TUNA in this thing. Also i just really like the way they make their tuna. Salad had, some spinach, iceberg lettuce, pickles, tomato, purple cabbage, and sliced boiled egg, and shredded cheese. definitely worth it.

False advertisement....I order thru drive thru a pork chop breakfast plate for 12.99 which comes with 3 chops grits/hashbrown, eggs toast. I received 2 chops gritz and eggs, when call back about the order the server told me it only comes 2 chops but when informing him of the issue with the menu vs. order he agrees with me about the menu and what I suppose to receive but refuse to satisfy the correct order. Which will cause the more than 12.99 in the lawsuit I will send them for failure to fulfill this order

Dry salty not appealing poor customer service very disappointed awful. If you like your food salty then this is the sandwich for you

For all the Kendrick fans coming through after the "Not Like Us" video, make sure to get a chili cheese fries with an orange bang. If not, you can get a side salad if you're from Toronto. You're welcome!

Got fried zucchini and came out flimsy and nasty like if they just microwaved it, never again. Hercules and toms are way better than this. Ordered 4 ranches and only got 2.

My first time going here and I can say their burgers were very good. The fries were a little soggy. My daughter had the chicken salad and it was a large portion and lots of chicken.

1.5 I have ordered multiple times because they are located 3 minutes from my house and I have to go back every time because something is always wrong. I know it's my fault that I trust them and do not check the order myself so I'm writing this to make sure you do every order CORRECTLY By the way the Food got worse when the older gentleman stopped working there. New employees do not make the food good. Food has no more flavor.

Good was on point ! Had the bacon cheeseburger grilled to perfection! I payed with Apple Pay and the whole paying situation was modern. This place beats going to McDonald's across the street

This used to be my go to for Boneless chicken dinner. I ordered this today and was very disappointed. Chicken had no flavor and the fries and bread was soaking wet. It was disgusting.

I'm just writing this out of mild frustration. I live around the corner so I go here every now and then. Literally there is something wrong every time. last time I asked for white toast. I drive away and it's wheat. this morning I order grits. I have a fork and knife, no spoon. And i had to drive back for my drink. the food is consistent though and staff is friendly

Used to come here very often when I lived in the area. They were always good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. A little sketch since they had a hella bullet proof window to get your food. But IMO, the food was always fresh and tasty. My go to was always the boneless chicken dinner. Was recently in the area and ordered it. Although it was very fresh, it just wasn't the same as I remembered it. I remember the fries being super seasoned and this time they barely had any salt. I also remember the ranch being so much creamier too but this time a little more watery. They now offer fried zucchini which I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get half fries and half zucchini. Overall a great meal, if ever in the area I wouldn't mind visiting again.

Fries and burgers are the bomb here. I DO NOT recommend the fried chicken. It's very bland. The drive thru is always busy so be patient. Service is ok and can improve a bit. On my last visit I asked if my order was complete, they said yes; once I got home I was missing a full chicken dinner order. I was not happy having to make that trip back. The vibe there is..........order food to go!

Great value for your money.The burger was prepared fresh with no salt at my request. I was surprised to get the entire meal hot and served with no salt . The service was great.

The food was not good enough for the hype that it's been given thanks to the rap artist Kendrick Lamar giving it. That's the MAIN reason i went to see what it's about. The prices are very affordable though so that maybe the case on why it gets customers. The location isn't bad and it's never busy in there but it does take awhile for the food to be served. The ambiance is pretty laidback.

Fries were raw drench in oil soggy asf.. disappointing.. my bag is literally dripping oil.... Never again.....

Service was quick and food was fresh. I had the Country fried steak sandwich. Fries were really good, they might have had like a light lemon pepper seasoning on them.

Pay with your debit or credit card otherwise you will be short changed if you pay with cash. Repeat your order more than 2 times for clarity otherwise it will be fallen on deaf ears. I was served a couple of frozen fries even tho i asked for crispy. I was not given accurate change when i paid with cash instead of card.

Great prices !!!! Had a double cheeseburger and fries . I couldn't eat it all . I will be going back next time I'm in LA .

I went through the drive-through with a friend. Customer service was very friendly. You can tell they rinse their walkways down. I had a BLT which was phenomenal. I added pickles.

Food isn't the greatest but it's in the city and popular so I def think they should improve on certain aspects. They def need to consider taking EBT for the community! A little bit more patience and customer service from the employees would be amazing! 5/10

I went on a Thursday at like 9pm I got a chili cheese fries the younger cashier girl a lil chubby pulled a fast one and never gave me my change back it was 8 for the small fries and I gave her a 20$ I'm from the IE so it's not like I can jus go back but that's how you doin ppl it be ur own

Tams is good for a quick bite. Not the healthiest but are okay in taste. Drive-thru is fast. I usually have breakfast and can swap out a few items like the hash brown and toast for a good portion salad. The prices are average. Overall a good option when you are not dieting.

Not good at all. Disgusting, bad for you and they need to go out of business. I believed the hype and regret it. My love for food won't allow me to eat food like this. I was hungry, so a burger sounded perfect. I should have known better with how the took the payment in the drive thru and we had the dark and nasty drink too, hopefully no baby roaches were swimming in it. All in all, never again! ONE and DONE!

So unprofessional. I ordered chilly cheese fries, NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. ordered horchata and orange bank.... We didn't receive that we received sprites. Ordered a double bacon burger, placed wrong. They took forever just to get my order wrong? There's was no line whatsoever either so I see no excuse I'm very upset with everything they got wrong and how little they cared.

Food is horrible and not worth the money. They don't follow instructions on how you want your food they just give it to you there way. I pay for quality not speed. Don't waste you money & time. I will never spend another dime there.

I found a pickles in a burrito that doesn't come with pickles.....y'all put cold clumps of cheese in burritos instead of just melting it all together y'all Mexican but sure asl don't act like it. I expect a good burrito instead I kept getting one that tasted like a homeless made it

I stopped by on a rainy day and ordered a chili cheese burger with everything on it. The burger was okay but it had too much lettuce and the chili wasn't that great. Once you've eaten at Tommy's Original on Rampart it's hard to top their quality.

Tams burgers on rosecrans terrible service the cashier was very mean and rude to me.. I purchase 23 dollars there and she didn't let my 5 year old use the restroom... she said it was out of order and it wasn't my husband was at the drive through and told us the restroom was working perfectly.. I was so upset .. y she lied for if we were customers at the restaurant... I was Mad and the guy said to talk to Guero I supposed he's the owner of that place .

The one in Compton is awesome. Great food, morning staff and price's. Pancakes are my sons favorite.

This Tam's has been doing people wrong for years.. and the neighborhood still has the nerve to support them.. smh. They really gave me a nasty ass.. hot ass salad.. with the lettuce they put on these mothafuckin burgers!!!!! It really is crucial to check ur food before you leave establishments like this! And if you really want a good hamburger spot.. drive on down to Bullis and Rosecrans to the Louis.. they would never do no BULLSHIT like this!
