"Tam’s wonton noodle soup is legendary for its pristine golden broth and plump wontons. Rounding out the dish are the handmade noodles that stay springy and supple even after sitting in the soup for an extended period. The wonton soup always comes out, piping hot, within minutes of ordering — useful to know if in a rush. While the soup can be a meal in itself, it can’t hurt to add in some chow fun or other Cantonese favorites." - Rebecca Roland
"This ultra casual Cantonese spot serves a $12.50 breakfast menu that includes 10 different varieties of congee. Diners can choose from scallops, chicken, fish paste with lettuce, pork offal, and more. Each steaming portion comes with a choice of two sides, like a pineapple bun, soy sauce chow mein, or rice noodle rolls with dried shrimp." - Eater Staff
"Tam’s Noodle House is a great SGV option when you’re with a big group and everybody’s yelling for something different. The casual Hong Kong-style cafe (with locations in San Gabriel and Rowland Heights) has an encyclopedic menu with sections dedicated to dumplings, toasts, claypot dishes, noodles, soups, and stir-fries. There are standouts in all of them. We love the soft, salty-sweet steamed rice noodles with shrimp and leeks, and on chilly mornings you’ll find us slurping pork congee or wonton mein in the corner with a strong HK milk tea working on the NYT mini crossword. The interior of the original San Gabriel location is a bit cramped, so if you’re with the family, sit on the large and well-shaded front patio." - Brant Cox
"Tam’s Noodle House opened during the pandemic selling only frozen Hong Kong-style wontons and dumplings. Since then, Tam’s has established itself as one of the go-to Hong Kong cafes in the area for casual Cantonese-style foods like curry fish balls, barbecue pork, beef stew lo mien, steamed rice rolls, pineapple buns, and Hong Kong-style milk tea. All the noodles and dumplings are made in-house, including three varieties of egg noodles (wonton-style egg noodles, rice noodles, and flat egg noodles). Tam’s also has a new location in Rowland Heights at 19035 Colima Road." - Kristie Hang
"A true Cantonese all-day cafe with some of the quickest service anywhere in town. Place an order and expect everything from the kaya toast to the Hong Kong milk tea to arrive in mere seconds. Comforting bowls of shrimp wonton soup and fried rice give way to one of the best fried fish filet dishes in the SGV. The menu’s got all the hallmarks of a classic Chinese restaurant but with affordability, speed, and big portions in mind." - Eater Staff
