Really wanted to like this place more, but for the lunch menu, I was a little disappointed. The only thing that blew me away was the Osaka pancake, but I've had much better Japanese pancakes in NYC for a fraction of the price. Service here is also a tad slow, and the food is just ok for the price.

This was a neat little spot that my wife and I did not even know existed, though we are not usually in that area of town. We walked in not knowing exactly what it was, not even knowing it was a Tom Douglas restaurant until after the fact. We saw the menu on the board in front of the door and it looked good, we love dumplings and asian food. We were not looking for anything huge, so we decided to split the ‘dumpling party’ and it was actually a perfect amount of food. It would have been not been enough food had we both been a little more hungry. I forget all the flavors they had that night, but they were all good. I would go back to try more of their menu and see what new dumpling flavors they have. The dumplings change daily according to the waitress. The prices are a little high for what it is, but you are in the high rent district and it is Tom Douglas. The worst part of this place is the mandatory 20% service fee all Tom Douglas places charge, but it is what it is. As I said, I’d probably still go back.

Great bubble waffles for weekend brunch! The congee is a little bland, but the karaage and bento sets are worth trying.

Ten thumbs up. Everything was prepared and presented so delightfully, loved it. Making this my new favorite dinner spot. I'm a huge kimchee and crispy rice fan, and let me just finish off by saying ... this is the best I've had! Their Bento is fabulous too.

The place is nice, the barman a sales man, the cocktail small but tasty, the dumplings homemade and simply awesome and finally the experience was just great. Highly recommended!

Service was very friendly from beginning to end. I got a nice drink (GreenMan, could be a bit more generous lol). Also, I got the Dumpling Party ($21) combo. It was super yummy and totally worth it! The environment is really cool. 20% gratuity added automatically to the bill. I would totally come back!

Tried TanakaSan's lunch bento and found it unsatisfying for so many reasons. First and foremost, all the ingredients didn't play well together. The salad was poorly seasoned at felt stale. The dumplings were dry and seemed undercooked, which was compensated by overcooked rice. Can't find a reason to stop by for lunch another time. However, the dinner menu is interesting and may change my perception of the place.

I had a great experience at Tanakasan. The potstickers were delicious and the coconut beef is one of the best things I have ever tasted. I will be coming back next time I am in Seattle.
