Tandir Rokhat

Came here for a quick bite & coffee while waiting for bike repair The place is under new ownership and has undergone a new renovation. More space and tables now. Much more comfortable than previously. I like the setup. The food is good as before and prices are affordable. It’s a good local spot and you can sit by window looking outside.

The Uzbek restaurant is located in the Homecrest/Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn. I ordered the flat bread called toki. It was very similar to Jewish matzoh. It was plain and had minimal taste. The green samsa was a small circular shaped pastry with some green filling. The pumpkin samsa was the same except it was filled with small diced pieces of pumpkin. The manti was an entree with 5 steamed dumplings filled with a chewy meat that was disappointing. The restaurant is plain with a simple decor.

No pretensions, just good uzbek food. Plov and manti were both amazing. Chicken kebab was huge and meaty and cooked nicely !! Looking forward to try the other breads next time

Was in the area so stopped in on Saturday. Tasty food, nice service, no frills, clean atmosphere. Ordered plov, 3 somsa (1 veggie, 2 meat) and 1 lamb filled manti based on the recommendation of a very patient and friendly counter person. Want to try the soup with noodles if I'm in the neighborhood again. Thanks for the intro to Uzbek food.

Very unique place located right off the belt parkway. I was brought to this place by a coworker. I could see even before I stepped in that they had a tandoor right up front. Naturally, I had to get a few Samsa tandoori. The texture was really good, and so was the flavor. Nice and crispy on the outside, but not burnt. The inside meat was ultra tender. The meat was a blend of beef and lamb with spices. I got 3 and some white sauce for a pretty reasonable price. 3 was a lot. I think 2 would be okay for a good size lunch or snack. I'll be back to try some more tasty treats from here.

Ordered plov and tandir samsa. The plov was mid at best. The samsa was good. The interior of the restaurant is below average, I would say gloomy. Overall wouldn't come here again.

The best Uzbek food hole in the wall in Brooklyn. I have not had more delicious Uzbek food in any of the neighboring restaurants (and I went to all of them - multiple times). This small shop has the best samsa (meat, pumpkin, and spinach). My favorite is pumpkin. The manti are quite amazing as well. Make sure to have them with the tomato sauce and the garlic vinegar (you can get it right there) at the one table they have, or take it to go in small containers. Always stop by this place when I’m in this part of town.

I'd rate Tandir Rokhat four and a half stars. According to my translation app, Tandir Rokhat translates from Uzbek to English as Oven Thank You. I suspect something was lost in translation as I'd categorize this place as a Samsa Shop! They've got a display case filled with various samsas. I had one the was filled onion and pumpkin and another which was filled with meat and onion which seemed to be their hallmark. They also had plov, manti, desserts, and a handful of salads. Service was super quick. They had about eight seats in the small shop which is better suited to grab and go. It's a great stop for a quick lunch.

Small place, not my definition of cozy but definitely a new menu for me. I enjoyed my selection very much though. I literally walked in with a friend, out of curiosity and pointed to something and he heated it up, charged us $3 and told us what it was: beliash! Pastry was flakey and the inside was filled with beef and onions. He provided a sauce, which had a light tomato taste. I'd come in if I was in the area.

This place is definitely a little overpriced. In my opinion, the owner needs to work extra hard on service improvement and hospitality.

Food is tasty but the establishment is small. great for take out orders limited tables for dine in . Definitely a lunch spot Staff is nice and friendly

When it comes to Uzbek traditional food, I come or order online from this place! They've got everything you need, fresh, super tasty, the portions are decent size, always on point! I don't regret ordering here, never had any single issue with them! Highly recommended! Abdulla provides highly exceptional customer service, I'm more than satisfied with those guys who work there! Thank you so much, I'm lucky to have this place in my neighborhood!

Food poison from the salad, it was veggies in oil. I was the only one eating this salad from my whole family, and I'm the one got sick. This is no doubt the salad was either not fresh or mixed with old batch. Its hard to determine freshness by taste, cause salad is loaded with lots of garlic.

Randomly came across this place in the neighborhood and I must say I'm very thankful. Food is outstanding and I just love how their samsa's came out. They're not covered in grease like typical places. Workers are very friendly too. Can't wait to come back to this place and try out the rest of their dishes!

I know this place for several years. My best place for tandirsamsa. However we noticed that this year size of samsa decreased and prices too. I'm still buying food from this place, but really want back larger portion size.

With many choices I wasn't sure to begin. I enjoyed carrot salad and lagman. As others mentioned, the samsa with lamb is superb as is the spicy red sauce. This a tiny place, mostly takeout, but there are many intriguing choices and the guy working here was very helpful in advising me.

We stopped here yesterday for a possible lunch option. We were treated very rudely by a employee when we requested a menu. "We have no menu here!" was her loud and rude response. Have you ever seen a restaurant without a menu?! I have lived in this area 15 years and this the 2nd restaurant on coney Island Avenue that has indirectly refused us service. I would hate to think it is the racial make-up of our party (African American male and Caucasian female) but it is becoming increasingly obvious something is foul here.

Evening Y'all... This afternoon Jason and I took a cruise to Brooklyn for a bite to eat... (We live in Farmingdale) After fighting traffic on the Belt Parkway we finally arrived at our destination on Coney Island Avenue Tandir Rokhat I haven't been to this part of Brooklyn in over 23 years... Parking was a bit of a hunt but we finally found a spot within walking distance... After being greeted by Abdukarim... A very polite young man we were seated in full view of some amazing Central Asian cuisine... After talking with the young man we decided to get a little taste of a few things ... Best idea and food I've had in quite some time... There was nothing that we didn't love... Everything is fresh and homemade right there in this tiny little store... But after devouring most of our food we were just bursting... But not with uncomfortableness... We definitely took a large portion of a large mixed platter home... And then Abdukarim said we can't leave until we tried this homemade chocolate dessert... Sorry no pictures of that... it never stood a chance... All I can say y'all is Jason and I will definitely be taking this long but truly worthwhile trip back to this restaurant to try many other of their homemade delicacies... If you're ever in this area or if you live in Brooklyn... Or just up for a trip with a happy ending you have to try this little restaurant that packs a big punch... You and your stomach will thank us later...

This restaurant is AMAZING. Service always fast and employees are very nice. Food is delicious. From the meat to the chicken to the soups, salads and most important the SAMSA. The best part about this restaurant is you can order and pod will be ready by the time you arrive. Great for evening dinner with the family and friends but PERFECT for picnics when doing a barbecue isn't an option or too much of a hassle. Try it and you will thank me.

Hidden BYOB gem with cheap but quality Uzbek staples. Samsa, plov and manty are a must. Come hungry and bring friends

Great cuisine! Delicious and satisfying. Affordable price. I would like changes in the interior. A decent kitchen needs a decent interior. I recommend it to everyone!

Serves up great food at very reasonable prices. The best samsa I've ever had - crispy on the outside with a bit of flakiness, juicy lamb on the inside - just perfect. The plov dish is made with raisins which is a bit of a turnoff for some people. I don't mind it and found it to be a solid dish as well. Their meat platters are by the pound and served with all sorts of sides that make for a full meal into itself. I've been here twice already and found them to be out of menu items one of those times - hence the 4 stars - but it's understandable given their small size and everything that's been going on with COVID. I will definitely be coming back.

This is my go to spot for some authentic samsa. It's baked fresh daily from the clay oven (tandyr) and the flavor is always on point! Make sure to dunk it and eat it with the sauce that comes with it (I call that banging samsa salsa ) oh and get more than just one, I promise it will not disappoint!

Visiting nyc I hit up this place they got the best Uzbek food and their food is delicious and its a must place in nyc

Very cool and cheap place! Plov , samsa and manti are delicious in here. The only thing if you're going to try their plov it's better to call them ahead to make sure they have it.

Started coming here a lot. This place is a hidden gem in Brooklyn. Amazing food, made fresh. Such great flavors and tastes. The Samsa and Plov are phenomenal.

I am pleased to say I was not disappointed by Tandir Rokhat. Lots of people come here. They certainly have a fantastic menu too. The staff was welcoming and prompt to assist us. I would certainly recommend Tandir Rokhat to others and will definitely come back in the future.

Great place. Samsa on spot. I mean what can I say ? It's traditional food , plov is delicious. And home made ayran. We also recently had chicken tabaka.

This place is great, cheaper than Nargis and WAY friendlier. I get a more authentic vibe from here as all the patrons were immigrants. You can peer into the back to see them prepare the baked goods and the gentlemen at the front was really helpful explaining everything. Accepts card but try to pay cash for a discount.

This place has been around for like 6-7 years and they are always on point with their Plov and Samsa I don't know bout anything else they make ...at 10:30am Plov is ready and it's $8 probably the best in that area ...fun fact bout this place they have a sister store on emmons ave called Dushanbe ..

This place is becoming a regular visit for me as a quick takeout. The food is great and prices are reasonable. Salads are 1/3 cheaper then in other places, plov is superb, and how can you not try the pumpkin manti. If you want a quick bite without wait, this is the place.

One of the finest pastry creations I have ever eaten. The samsa(traditional uzebek meat pie) is a delectable amalgamation of fine lamb, onions, garlic, cumin and other spices wrapped in the most unbelievably made puff dough. It is cooked in a traditional tandir oven with the juices caramalizing on the bottom of the delicacy. All the other food here is wonderful also, from mouth-watering soups to fried savory pastries to wonderful homemade dried fruit punch. Definitely go here you will be craving it forever.

This is worst staff working there. They will charge a dollar extra for chicken bone in samsa. Really bad food. Tandir meat is average, but why you add right on top your bad salads. Will never recommend this place to anyone.

I love this place. Small, but authentic delicious homemade food. The service is great and all staff is so friendly. Much better than the horrible service and attitude at Nargis.
