I heard heard rave reviews about this place but decided that yesterday was the day I'd finally give it a shot. It was cold, and windy, and I knew that some good soup with noodles would do the trick. Well, let me tell you what: when I walked in there was a nice ambiance, and friendly buzz. It was clean, with pops of colors but also very calming. Once I started to look at the giant photos of the food on the LCD, I started to lose track of what I came in for! Richard, the pleasant manager at the desk, asked me what I preferred the regular or spicy, and when I said spicy, he recommended to add some heat, so that I did with the spicy noodles with prawns (6 generous sized shrimp with nice cabbage, bean sprouts, and scallion in a good brown sauce. I also got the veggie lo-mein (not spicy for my not so adventurous friend), which came with ample broccolini which had a nice crunch, and the piece de resistance: spicy pork noodles, that had the thick, handmade noodles on a bed of chili oil with BOTH minced pork (dan-dan style), and a generous slice of pork shoulder with carrots, and red cabbage, scallions, and I think some nuts to top off the crunch factor! Veggie spring rolls were very nice (not too greasy), and as my friend pointed out, not stringy cabbage but actual big pieces! Filling with 4 a serving, and a dipping sauce which I didn't use but I was told it was nice (looked like Russian dressing). The beef broth and wide noodle soup was the winner of it all - with a separate layer to separate the broth from the general portion of beef and veggies and noodles so as not to get soggy, the servings are generous, and the To-Go red metallic style Tupperware bowls and dishes will last you awhile. I highly recommend the Tangy Noodle experience (even the To-Go orange insulated bag is a keeper!! The prices are a bit more than the average Chinese but this is definitely a step above!!
