"Across the street from the Google offices in Chelsea, Shorty Tang’s — an offshoot of Hwa Yuan — serves very fine renditions of some of chef Tang’s less expensive creations: I thought the cold sesame noodles were among the city’s best, and the wontons in hot oil were wonderful, with a dab of bean paste added. The rest of the menu fills out not with Sichuan standards but with dim sum and Taiwanese and Japanese fare, including beef noodle soup, fried calamari, seaweed salad, and ramen in a chicken broth." - Robert Sietsema
