Tap 42 Aventura Review - Aventura - Miami - The Infatuation

"Tap 42 is a South Florida chain where you can consistently expect solid bar food staples (we like their burger), a long beer list, and an atmosphere that feels casual—but still nice enough to make you feel like you’re at a restaurant and not some generic sports bar. The nice thing about Tap 42’s Aventura Mall location is that it’s on a secluded rooftop patio. So it’s a good choice if you’re incredibly sick of crowds or if it’s a nice day and you want to sip a beer while you watch the chaos of the parking lot." - Ryan Pfeffer

Doral Gets a Live Entertainment Focused Gastropub— and More Openings - Eater Miami

"Tap42 has debuted its latest location in South Florida, this time inside Aventura Mall. The new location features 250 seats and a 1,200 square-foot patio overlooking the Aventura Slide Tower, a 93-foot-tall glass and steel slide designed by Carsten Höller. Expect the same menu as other locations featuring high-end pub fare plus plenty of drink offerings." - Olee Fowler

Visited: Saturday, around 2:30 PM Weather: Sunny and hot — ideal for outdoor seating Visit Context: This was my second visit to Tap 42, more of a convenience stop while shopping at Aventura Mall than a destination meal. Tap 42 at Aventura Mall offers abundant outdoor seating with minimal wait on warm afternoons. Indoor tables are limited, especially for parties of two. Our server, Jordan, was attentive and courteous, even while managing a packed section. There was a brief delay (about 10 minutes) for the first round of drinks. My second beer arrived later than expected but did make it out. Overall, service was solid and friendly. ⸻ 🥂 Drinks • Prison Pale Ale – crisp, light, and refreshing. • Strawberry Kish with CBD infusion – fruity and mellow with a unique touch. ⸻ 🍽️ Food • Appetizer: Chicken Lettuce Wraps – very fresh, flavorful, and great for sharing. The spicy mayo was a standout. • Prohibition Burger – juicy, flavorful, and made with fresh ingredients. • Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap – well-balanced flavors; order the dressing on the side for best texture. • Regular Fries – crisp and satisfying. • Truffle Fries – come with a $2 upcharge, which didn’t feel justified. Portions are large — we left with leftovers. Prices are in line with similar mall restaurants. ⸻ 🧼 Restrooms Both restrooms were clean. The men’s room was spotless, while the women’s room trash bin was full during our visit. ⸻ 🅿️ Parking Typical Aventura Mall chaos — expect a crowded lot and some walking. ⸻ 🔊 Atmosphere Upbeat, energetic, and social. Music is loud, but still allows for conversation. Things get busier around 4 PM, so plan accordingly. ⸻ 🔖 Promotions No specials or deals were mentioned or promoted during our visit. ⸻ 🌟 Final Take A solid spot for a casual bite or drink while shopping at Aventura Mall. This was my second time here, and while I wouldn’t go out of my way to dine here, it’s convenient, consistent, and enjoyable. Great for groups, with strong drink options and generous food portions

It was very good. I had the prohibition burger, the zen bowl, and for dessert I had the bread pudding and a cappuccino. Overall. Food is really amazing

I recently visited Tap 42, and while the atmosphere was lively and fun, I couldn’t help but notice a few major drawbacks compared to other locations. First, the pricing is significantly higher than what you’d typically find at other Tap 42 spots. Everything on the menu felt overpriced, with limited options to choose from. Unlike other locations, this one didn’t seem to have a well rounded drink menu, which was a bit disappointing. The food portions were also noticeably smaller, making the high prices even harder to justify. The only standout dish for me was the calamari tower delicious and well executed, but unfortunately, one good dish isn’t enough to make up for the overall experience. That said, the atmosphere is great, and the drinks were enjoyable, but be prepared to spend at least $100 or more for a full dining experience. If you’re looking for a fun night out and don’t mind the steep prices, it’s worth a visit. Otherwise, you might find better value elsewhere.

The atmosphere definitely delivers if you’re seated outside—it vibes with the other Aventura mall hotspots. Inside feels more like a standard bar with nothing special in the ambiance. The beer menu is solid, but they were out of the Wynwood wheat beer I ordered, which was a letdown. On the plus side, Jordan, our server, was great—friendly and attentive throughout. As for the food, it didn’t leave much of an impression. I had the Truffle Filet Steak Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries, which was pretty average. The strawberries on the tres leches tasted thawed. The cocktails—Strawberry Paloma and Mule on Tap—were decent. Prison Pals on draft was the highlight of the drinks. Overall, it’s a decent stop for drinks and people-watching outside, but not a go-to spot for food or a unique indoor experience.

MUST GO! Family is traveling from our town and had a fantastic experience. Food was VERY delicious, exceptional service (Stan was incredible) and fun atmosphere. Would come back!! We all loved our food — chicken and waffles and sweet potato fries were a hit

We came to Tap 42 for a girls night out and our waitress Luba was truly amazing. She was so sweet, attentive, and made us feel super taken care of the entire night. She had great energy, made awesome recommendations, and was just so easy to talk to. It honestly felt like we had a friend taking care of us. She really added to the whole vibe and made our night even better. Ask for her and your tap 42 visit won’t be just a tap 42 visit ;)

I used to love this place, but it’s really gone downhill. Came with a family of five drinks came out flat and took over 20 minutes to be replaced. We received our food well before the drinks finally arrived. My $25 sandwich was barely filled and the bread wasn’t even toasted. The $17.50 kids meal came with just two small tenders and overly salty fries. Our server never checked on us once; we had to get up and ask someone else for the bill. Top it off the kids meal was supposed to come with a dessert server did not ask offer nothing at this point we were just over it and did not even bother. Very disappointing overall. Items start at $25–$30, and up much of it feels like overpriced frozen finger food..

I visited Tap 42 Craft Kitchen & Bar twice while in the area for a business conference because it was conveniently within walking distance. The food was undeniably delicious. I ordered the Prohibition Burger with fries on both visits, and my family enjoyed a mix of burgers, salads, and sides. The dishes were consistently solid and satisfying. Unfortunately, the service was a letdown both times. On our first visit, our server took so long to greet us and take drink orders that we had to ask another server for assistance. While our assigned server eventually showed up, the delay left a bad impression. The second visit was even worse. Our new server had a poor attitude, rolled his eyes, and made it obvious he didn’t want to be there. It was so unpleasant that upper management intervened, and partway through our meal, a different server started attending to us. The dining area was clean, the bathrooms have dim lighting, and this location gives you a beautiful view over one of Aventura Mall’s entrance. As much as I enjoyed the food, experiences like this make me hesitate to return. The service at this location is inconsistent at best, so don’t be afraid to speak up if you encounter issues.
