Tap 42 Craft Kitchen & Bar - Coral Gables

We are a family who enjoys spending time together, especially on special occasions there were 10 of us. On Father’s Day and it is understandable that early on service lacks a bit because of how extremely full tap gets on Sundays. We are also locals and frequent Tap. Unfortunately two of us waited an hour and a half for our food, which we eventually cancelled. Twenty minutes before we left, which at that time the restaurants was already practically empty. Drinks took Forever!! Some of us didn’t eat , one of the orders was a simple chicken nuggets for a teenager. We did approach the Manager who didn’t bother going to the table to offer any help nor accommodation. He just went into the kitchen came out and sat in the back with what we assume was another manager and kept eating his Chinese food. We paid our 870.00 bill with a 20 percent tip included. I truly believe Tap failed our Father’s Day. Even though we made the best of it.

If you're looking for a party-vibe brunch experience, I suggest trying the Kendall location. The Gables venue offers the same menu and level of service, but the energy seemed muted. The unlimited mimosa package is still available and I reccomend it as an economical decision for anyone planning to drink 3+ drinks. The food is good, not great. I'm a big fan + frequent order-er of the Truffle Steak Sandwhich. The steak is tender, soft, and deliciously seasoned which makes for a perfect bite every time. I love the truffle Mac n Cheese side options, but the truffle is the only flavor you taste. My husband's Chicken + Waffles was okay, but having recently gone to Copper Blue and having a much better version of it, he was disappointed. His Cajun fries were on point though. The best dish for me was the Calamari appetizer. Thick cut pieces in a taste light batter complimented by a perfectly balanced sweet Thai dipping sauce. The calamari comes on a bed of Asian slaw which also tastes wonderful with a bit of the sweet thai sauce.

It was hot as hell when I went in there. Only remained due to meeting a friend. They claimed the ac wasn’t at full capacity but it wasn’t working enough at all to make it comfortable for customers. Just imagine how hot the kitchen is. The bar and other areas were dirty. There were cords hanging out where people were tripping and it was just slow and only 1 bartender. Long time to get check, to get drinks, and just overall it was so hot and miserable! Don’t recommend. Hope they close down! One of those places that makes you give a card before you pay which is fine but I wanted to pay cash and they kept my cash and still asked for a card despite I said I’d just pay for the drink itself. Bad management. Don’t go. Very deceptive. Employees were hanging around fans and hiding in the bathroom the only place where the ac was actually working a little bit. Also the management was very retaliatory for sticking up for their staff when they were really suffering. This reflects the poor values and poor working conditions. Boycott because of this and won’t return to go to other locations. Be warned.

I typically never write reviews, but this is just unacceptable. Not only did the sushi bowl i ordered not look safe to eat (bowl looked like it was sitting out for a few hours and tuna looked rotten), but what was really infuriating was the lack of hospitality. Server failed to even acknowledge the issue and manager took 20 minutes to come to our table. i was a big fan of tap 42 but this was a let down.

Can’t say enough good things about this place! We had the most deliciously amazing lunch! Best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had. Crispy coating with juicy chicken. So good! And the corn guacamole was the best guac we’ve ever had. Beer was great too and our server was super knowledgeable about local beers.

First time coming here Wednesday night with friends. The atmosphere was great. The restaurant was not too packed since we went about one hour before closing time. Ordered the Crispy Asian Calamari Tower, Sweet Potato Fries, and Wagyu Steak Noodles. The Asian Calamari Tower was delicious. The Wagyu Steak Noodle was pretty good. The Sweet Potato Fries were tasty with the cinnamon dip. As picky as I am when it comes to ordering a michelada. I don’t know who the bartender was but a big shoutout to the bartender for making the mix for my micheladas. They were on point! 🔥 The server was nice but was gone majority of the time we were there. We ended up paying out with a different server. Overall the place is a nice vibe when not too packed.

Street corn guacamole was great! Blackend fish sandwich also amazing. And finished it off with keylime pie! Food was all very fresh and priced to match. Can't wait to go again and try something elae.

Sports bar with a great drink menu and solid food choices. The server was knowledgeable and shared her favorite items with us. Inside is definitely loud during a game, outside was the perfect atmosphere for catching up with friends!

Such an awesome place to watch football at the bar! We went Thursday night which is ladies night if you sit at the bar so my girlfriend got 50% off her drinks. They have tons of deals throughout the week. The vibes were great, lots of tvs in the bar area, service was excellent. The food was very tasty. I highly recommend the prohibition burger! The truffle Mac and cheese was definitely truffle-y so if you don't like truffle I would stay away but I do so it was very good. Great selection of drinks, great service, and great portion sizes- will definitely be coming back.

Omg I can't explain how aweful I am feeling me and my daughter after we ate there Can't put the details all I can say it was a night of stomach pain and throwing up ready to go to the hospital The service was bad waited for ever for the waiter to come back for water refill and then u have up The Quinoa was so soggy and I asked them to replace it yet another plate of soggy quinoa came back My daughter spend her night in the bathroom with extreme pain since the moment we got in the car after dinner Def the worse meal . The attitude of the girl waitress was awful I can't believe u even tipped the guy alejando because I felt bad to not leave a tip Def not going back after spending 200+ $ and end up in such pain

Passionfruit Paloma- passionfruit grapefruit juice, cazadores blanco. Was delicious and refreshing The grilled chicken avocado bowl-I did my without avocado... I do wish it had more rice or something more filling that Strawberry kush infused with CBD my friend did really enjoy it And as usual the prohibition burger which was a thick patty The service was pretty slow but not crazy annoying even though it was Sunday during brunch and not many tables at all

Been here a handful of times with happy hours, going away parties etc. We decided to have a team lunch here. I got there on time unlike everyone else, wasn't too busy around 12:30pm, had a table for 6 immediately available. Friendly greetings, provided menus for us and gave us time to look everything over. They do have a lunch promo going on for $29 for 3 courses (app, entree and dessert). I did opt for that, so I chose the calamari salad for app, mahi sandwich for entree and it only had one option for dessert which was strawberry tres leches cake. All was very good, pretty filling for lunch, I killed every course and was worth it. Most people at the table did the 3-course lunch too so they also enjoyed their meals. Service was fine, prices are ok, comfy setting, tv's to watch sports, nice menu with a lot of selections for food and drink. Took some photos of my meal too, see attached. (forgot to take one of the dessert, I was too eager to inhale it). Overall, would continue to come back here again. I decided to work from home for the rest of the day. FYI: If you park at the parking garage next door, they don't validate. It was like $6 or something.

Came here with a reservation for a work dinner. We were sat down very quickly and were served our waters. After looking through the menus we ordered our food and talked amongst ourselves while waiting. We danced in our seats and sang along with the music that was playing as we waited as well. Our food soon came and we all began eating. Unfortunately, my plate was the only one with something wrong. I ordered the Drunken Goat burger with an Asian Style Coleslaw Salad. I asked them to add lettuce to the burger but to keep the arugula on it as well. When it arrived, I had lettuce on it but no arugula. My salad was supposed to have a sauce but it didn't have it, therefore my salad was very dry and hard to eat. I informed our server Diana about my order and she quickly got my order fixed. She told me that she wasn't sure why they missed those things in the kitchen, especially not adding the sauce to the salad. It was unfortunate that my plate was the only one that didn't come out correctly, but I'm thankful for Diana for being quick on her feet and getting my order fixed.

Good food, good beer, good dessert! I made it right as happy hour ended, but I wasn't mad about it. The truth is, as a creature of habit I knew exactly what I wanted and exactly how it was going to taste. Whenever I go to Tap42 I always order the Impossible French Dip. My hope is that I turn you on to it, too! Admittedly, this isn't the most popular thing on the menu and if you ask most people what the "must-try's" are I'm not sure this item would be on that list. But if you're looking for something meatless, I would consider the Impossible French Dip a must try. You can get a meatless burger anywhere these days but nowhere I've been (except Tap 42) has ever offered a delicious alternative to a French Dip. It's an impossible patty cooked to perfection atop a soft bun and dressed with caramelized onions and horseradish. It comes with a mushroom au jus that I personally love to drown each bite in. No it has nothing green about it as it's served with a side of French fries but if you need something fresh just order a side salad I sat at the bar and unfortunately on this day it was extremely hot inside--AC must have been broken, but I'm sure this isn't the norm here. The service was nothing to write home about which is why I gave Tap 42 3 stars. Still, give it a try if you're looking for consistently good food and a good time with friends!

Tap 42 in Coral Gables is incredible. I come here 1-2 times a week and have tried most things on the menu; everything is delicious. It's all made even better by the bartender Stephanie. She goes above and beyond to make sure she provides the best service possible every time.

Solid menu, good drinks and fun music without the uppity vibes of other Giralda restaurants. I usually get the Rainbow bowl but opted for the poke salad. It was nice and light but still filling. We sat at the bar and got quick service. You can never go wrong with Tap42!

I enjoyed my time today at Tap 42. Tap 42 is known for its lively atmosphere and extensive brunch menu. Located centrally in the gables . Use to be much funner than I remember from back in the days . Live dj still though . Quick service. This place use to be the spot for Sunday brunch! Unlimited mimosas / beer/ or bloody merry options . Good food ! Must try the guac/ corn/chip option . I think it's call Mexican street corn FIRE!

Terrific food in a casual fun environment - great for late night and casual family dinner. Great beer selection.

Made a last minute decision to go here based on a recommendation from a ride share driver and in short, I'm glad I followed her recommendation! She described it as a place where there are good vibes, a bar in the center with an open layout that allows for air and sunlight to come in. I sat at the bar and got amazing service and was able to sit somewhere with a view of what was going on in different places in the restaurant. Food wise, it was tasty--I ordered the calamari tower and the tuna poke salad. It may have been a tad bit much dressing and sauce for my liking but tasty nonetheless. They offer $25 for unlimited mimosas, bloody Mary's, truly wild berry, funky Buddha Floridian or 42 hazy daze from 11am-3pm on weekends. I came a little later around 2 and still was able to get 3 bloody Mary's in which made me feel like it was worth it. Check this out and enjoy the food, ambiance and views just get the sauce or dressing on the side so you can control how much is included!

Tap 42 is always such an amazing experience!! The service was phenomenal as well, our waiter was super attentive and kind. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating; it is very spacious. Today we got the spinach dip and it tasted amazing!It's a great appetizer. And for the entrees we got two salmon zen bowls, a crispy chicken sandwich, and a chicken avocado salad. Everything tasted great! I had ordered the salmon and i would totally recommend it; the sauce they used was really good. And we had also ordered a cocktail shrimp appetizer; the shrimp were big and fresh . Between the four of us, we had a little but of leftovers (just some fries). Overall this was fantastic, would completely recommend, and cant wait to come back!

Always a great time at Tap42 for whichever meal. Good music and vibe while you're there, plenty of drink options to choose from, and a solid menu filled with of choices for everyone.

The food is consistently good. My last experience was a little strange. We went to watch the Miami Heat game and they would not put the sound on even though there was only one other table at the bar. They said they would only put the sound on during important games, considering we are in Miami and this was somewhat of an important game, It definitely brought the vibe down a little. I will save a salmon, was very tender and cooked to perfection.

We ordered food to go, specifically Mac and Cheese, and it did not taste very good. It's hard for me not to like a Mac and Cheese dish, but this one I could only taste oil and truffle. Would not go here again.

Tap 42 in Coral Gables is consistent with other Tap 42s - the food is good - burgers are great. Exactly what you'd expect from Tap 42. I have not been disappointed yet at any food options. Their Calamari comes on a bed of Asian Slaw that is absolutely delicious. I could have the slaw alone. You can't go wrong with their chicken lettuce wraps or wings. If you are a lamb fan & are a goat cheese lover like me their Drunken Goat burger is a MUST TRY! If you're not a fan - The Prohibition burger is drool-inducing good. I have been to this location on a Saturday night or middle of a week day. It's not usually particularly busy at any time - this is also a big location with lots of space to accommodate. The drinks here are usually very good & the bartenders I have interacted with are very knowledgeable. The service isn't particularly out of this world but not bad either just somewhere in the middle and everyone being nice helps! Will be back :)

Great service. Stephanie was awesome. She is sweet, friendly and very kind. Food, delicious. Great ambience. We ordered a bottle of Rufino Pino Grigio. It was delicious. Two blackened chicken salads... wow delicious I totally recommend this location.

Ordered on Postmaste last night. Shorted one item and when I called was told that I could get in my car and come by the restaurant and pick the missing order up. Food received was below usual quality. Never ordering from them again.

Can't ever go wrong with a great reasonable late happy hour menu. Pleasant servers. And nice music playing in the background. Makes for a great wind down.

Tap 42 is a great place to visit whether it's for a meal or to watch the game. It's a combination of swanky and chill sports bar. While I can't say the food is GREAT, it is good. Particularly good enough. For the price of the food I expected more. The wings were flavorful and cooked well. But the fries were honestly the highlight. Our drinks were good too. Come for happy hour and it's especially worth it! Our server was awesome. He was attentive, friendly, and kind. That kind of service seems like a rarity these days.

I went to tap 42 with my family a month ago because we were in the neighborhood, much to my surprise, the experience was amazing. Yami was our server the last time we went & we had such a great experience that we went back (from Homestead) and asked for her again due to her impecable service and ability to make sure we felt special and taken care of. She went above and beyond from recommendations to making us feel more comfortable than ever. The greatest customer connection I have had in a restaurant in a long time! She recommended the drunken goat with was DELICIOUS! She also recommended the smoked maple old fashion which was made to perfection. **chefs kiss to the whole experience** I will definitely be going back & soon!

I am a fan of Tap 42, and yesterdays visit to the Coral Gabes branch did not disappoint. Their chicken wings appetizer - is a fabulous choice if you love wings. Go check them out for yourself. They are nicely charred after being roasted and one of their sauces that accompany it, is their blue cheese, which I adore. I am also a fan of their main dish called drunken goat burger - the flavors just meld beautifully together. Their fries are always on point too. Their dessert of Tres leches is also super addictive. You have been for warned!! However as much as I love the Tap 42 I am so sick of seeing their BLACK PLASTIC STRAWS. PLEASE get with the program and only source and buy and provide Eco friendly straws. Do you not care about our planet?

Tap 42 never disappoints but this was my first time at this location. Our server was good and always checked in to make sure we were okay. The food was delicious even thought I had to sent my plate back as the steak was over cooked it was very flavorful and fulfilling. This location wasn't busy even thought it wouldn't let us make reservations online.

What do you do with a place that serves pretty good food but at the price of service and ambiance? I suppose it'd I was grading just the food, I'd give it pretty high marks. The steak and noodle bowl was delicious with a slight hot spice that made it enjoyable. The ribs were also melt off the bone good without being dried out. But then there's the rest of the grade. The drink was expensive and not that notable. The maui wowie margarita took 20 mins to get and was kinda small for the charge and a little watered down too. The server was either overwhelmed or uninterested in us. For a single course meal, it took 90 minutes from start to finish. And then there was the noise which seemed piped in and made it nearly impossible to carry a conversation. Sure if you want a nightclub feel, that's fine but at nearly 90 decibels, it was like going to a concert. So would we return? No. Which is a shame because the food deserves a better place than the rest of it.

We've frequented this restaurant a few times in the past 4 years and have always enjoyed the location. Today we were here to celebrate a birthday for our friend. There was a reservation made as we are used to this place being jammed packed but today it was not which was surprising for a Friday night in the gables. We were sat quickly and our waiter came and started taking our order with in 10 min of us setting in. We placed order for our fav appetizer the street corn guac let me tell you this is straight fire! Probably one of the best flavors i've tried. We went with the chicken tenders and mac and cheese this time around and were extremely happy with the food. Everything came out great. This location is very trendy it has out side and inside seating and can accommodate large and small parties. Parking is plentiful all around. There are parking garages at walking distance and street parking around the block as well.

I love coming to tap 42. Im a fan of their food, this time around I ordered the Thai lettuce wraps, the French fried with Parmesan and truffle oil and the sliders. Along with that we had the blackberry smash Drink which is my fav. Service is always great, very attentive . As per my the ambiance is always energetic vibe but at the same time laid back. Love it

Great tavern. Watched the Euro2024 there. Lots of good beers at decent prices. Happy burger cost 1/2 and are good.

I've frequented this spot several times for brunch and specifically on Burger Monday. The highlight of my Mondays is getting the Prohibition Burger, which happens to be half off on that day - and let me tell you, it's incredibly scrumptious and satisfying. Alongside the burger, I also tried the Boston Roll, which was decent but lacked that extra punch of flavor I was hoping for. This place has a cozy atmosphere with a diverse selection of beers and delightful pub-style food. While I really enjoy sitting at the table, they also have an inviting bar area, and outside has some comfy sofas that truly enhance the overall ambiance.

food was good, Yami was GREAT. Loved her energy. AC definitely AN ISSUE! It was hot and sticky, but at least the drinks were good

The Calamri tower was pretty good. We also got the prohibition burger which was 9/10 with truffle fries. I had a side of truffle Mac n cheese, which didn't have much flavor when I tasted it. Service was ok. It was not packed ;( we went at 1 pm ) and it took a while just to get a refill on our waters. we paid $80 for two people .two burgers. One app, and a side. It was a good meal.

There are things to like and things to not like about Tap 42. We liked the burger- it was a fairly standard burger- with the typical toppings. Lettuce, tomato, onion, and bacon. A zesty sauce was added which was quite nice. The burger was a bit overcooked but overall it was fine. The Brussels sprouts in a mustard sauce was good. But the truffle Mac and cheese was inedible. The taste had a chemical/plastic taste. After one bite I was done. If you're careful about what you order you can certainly put together a good meal.

Everything was really good! I got the ribs that fall off the bone. My friend had an impossible burger which she said was yummy. Bartenders have always been nice to me. Fun place to watch any games!

I had a great experience and waitress! Yamilis was was very attentive and had a great personality. She made our dining experience lovely.

Happy hour 4-7pm Monday through Friday. Drinks & bites at the bar. If you dont want to sit at the bar you can enjoy ONLY the drink menu on Happy hour anywhere in the restaurant. We loved the Froze and the calamari! Both were delicious!! The mango margarita had a really smoky flavor similar to mezcal so didn't really care for it. Beautiful restaurant interior. Very friendly and attentive service.

I have always heard this place gets crazy during brunch but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as crazy as described. This is a great place for bottomless drinks (which does include beer and bloody Mary's as well as the usual mimosa) and brunch. The waitress was great and super attentive towards bringing more drinks.

Food and service are good but the place gets really hot inside and makes the overall experience uncomfortable. The place needs a much better AC unit.

The food was delicious and service was great. Our server, Yamilis, was very attentive and charismatic. We had a great time with her. The food runner, Natalie, was also very attentive and made sure our food was delivered in an orderly fashion. She was so pretty! I'm a Gables local and come here regularly and this spot is always great. I will always recommend Tap 42 for whenever you're in the Gables.

My recent dinner at Tap 42 was nothing short of exceptional, thanks in large part to our server, Bella. From the moment we were seated, Bella impressed us with her friendly demeanor and knowledgeable recommendations. She ensured our evening went smoothly, offering prompt service and anticipating our needs without being intrusive. The food was equally impressive. Every dish was delicious and I am especially a fan of the calamari tower. Their burgers and sandwiches are also amazing and the portions are huge! All in all, this experience was amazing and I will be sure to be back soon!

Clearly a 3 star type place that has proven itself as mediocre (see: mid). I've dined in. I've picked up. I've gotten delivery. Dine in was pleasant, attentive service, bartender was friendly and staff too. Take out was fine but it said 15-20 minutes. I arrive 20 minutes later and they make me wait another 20 minutes for the hot food. I check the bag and my side of asian slaw is missing. It took another 15 minutes to have the kitchen pump out asian slaw? How and why? So basically an hour from when I ordered when the expected wait was under 30 minutes. Hosts/Staff was also looking at me like whats this guy still waiting around for. Sorry if your friendly Gables resident is calmly waiting for his order, they were just awkward. Takeout twice was pretty lame. Ordered Burger twice at Medium. Both time it was scorched earth well done. Char and more char in the flavors. The Cajun fries were over-seasoned and salty as hell. Also they were limp and soggy (not due to delivery time). The Asian slaw was over dressed and extremely salty. For maybe 4oz of greens there was almost as much dressing. Unappetizing, heavy handed, wasting restaurants ingredients, and causing an unpleasant experience with the client. The wagyu noodles was a tasty dish, but OILY OILY OILY. Wagyu is fatty already, I even said please reduce the amount of oil used. I swear it came oilier than usual after making that request. So while I like the food options better than the other restaurant chain with a similar concept, the value and quality of food is hit or miss. Overly seasoned, overly dressed and overly salted food is not good and the kitchen is obviously not passionate about putting out quality food which is a bummer. Typical of some Miami establishments, the apathy of some staff is palpable. Thank you to the select servers/bar staff that were very welcoming. Front of house and kitchen could use much improvement. The short rib sliders are a much better option than their burgers. 3 stars is more than fair for this spot.

The food is amazing here!! Came with my husband and our friends for a bite after a concert and we werent disappointed. The house wines were nice, but we mainly raved about how delicious the food was. The salmon and chicken parm were our table's favorites.

The food is kinda basic but still good. Highly recommend the burgers but the sushi bowl was just ok. The happy hour deals are good and a really nice time to visit the restaurant. I enjoyed sitting in the outside booths because they still feel private and clean even though you are technically outside of the restaurant.

Tap42 is honestly one of my favorite spots for happy hour! They have a wide variety of amazing in-house drinks and delicious entrees! My favorites, as of now, have been the Salmon Zen Bowl and Wagyu Steak and Noodle Bowl. They never fail me! A few good appetizers are: Calamari Tower, Street Corn Guac, and the Short Beef Sliders. Definitely recommend for a night out with friends and/or family

Avoid this location. Service is abysmal. They clearly don't care about their customers. Management had alot of work to do. It should never take 30 minutes to simply get water. Save your self a headache and walk a few feet over to Doc Bs.
