The 13 Best Restaurants In Greenwich - London - The Infatuation

"Hut Negril is an absolute joy. Having taken over pretty much the entire car park outside the church on the corner of Trafalgar Road and Christchurch Way, the Jamaican street food stall has become a local landmark. The stall is run by chef Gino, who’s quite possibly the happiest man in Greenwich, and the food is even more joyous. All of the classics like curry goat, oxtail, rice and peas, and patties are available. But it’s the jerk chicken, slow-cooked on a drum barbecue, that sets Hut Negril apart. You can even smell it cooking from a few streets away. Portions are generous and all mains include rice and peas. Even the perfunctory side salad is rampant with flavour." - Jonathan Hatchman

Incredible. Definite must try. We had the Jerk chicken and rice and the depth of flavour was amazing. The chicken was beautifully smokey and tender and the rice was delicious. Would also recommend picking up a pot of the chilli sauce which has a lovely level of heat balanced out with some zingy zest. The owner is great and clearly loves what he does. He also grows a lot of the herbs and spices himself! 5 stars.

I pass by this place all the time and finally decided to give it a try. I was unfortunately greatly disappointed as I was served a dry, burnt portion of jerk chicken and didn't realise until I got home. Nearly inedible because I could only taste charcoal. Unacceptable.

I’ve moved away from Greenwich and I can honestly say I miss this guy’s cooking. Amazing food, the freshness and flavours are amazing. Really nice guy who runs it too. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing, I had jerk chicken, rice and a dumpling with gravy today at Felixstowe carnival. The lady serving me was lovely and the food was beautiful and clearly made with love. 100% recommend!

Love curry goat and dumpling! A lot of small bones in the curry, but was delicious!
