The 21 Best Restaurants On (& Around) Nolensville Pike

"This is our favorite overall taqueria in the area. There are many like it—quite literally, there are El Dolar #1, #3, #4, and #5—but this truck is ours. That’s mainly because the meat is cooked perfectly every time here, unlike a lot of other taco options in the area. Our perfect order is one chicken featuring super moist chunks of meat, one carne asada that’s always nicely charred, and one very shreddy barbacoa. It’s a perfect stop for a quick meal, and the prices ($2 per taco) are super affordable. Just know that it’s cash-only." - anas saba

Google
Delicious. Al pastor my favorite. 3 would be a nice filling meal but 2 hit the spot too. Carnitas pretty good

Google
Pulled up starving, and they got me right quick. Food was solid, service was on point. Heads up though — it’s cash only, so be ready. I was so hungry I didn’t even think about taking pics, just went straight in. No complaints here.

Google
Best taco stand on Nolensville Road & I have been to all of them. Best cheesy birria quesa tacos in Nashville! Trust me 🔥🔥🔥

Google
What an amazing surprise. I ordered one of each tacos in their menu and none of them disappointed. Easily out of the best tacos in Nashville.

Google
Taqueria El Dolar #2 has excellent Mexican food. I've been a few times. This is a food truck. There are few tables outside. I've have had the asada burrito and the quesadillas. They orchada is good too. I highly recommend this truck it was recommended to me.

Google
This is my go to taco truck!! Good is always amazing and they always hook me up with extra carrots when I ask for them.

Google
I finally tried this place after driving by it for months. What good food they have! And their prices are just as good. I had the regular tacos that cost only $1.25 each. I paid slightly higher for a special taco. I loved each of the four kinds that I tried. I'll be back again soon.

Google
Great little food truck with incredible mini tacos. I had the asada tacos and the quesabirria tacos. Both were excellent, but the quesabirria tacos were out of this world. Great place and will return very soon.

Yelp
The best last night tacos! Street tacos are easily in my top 5 food groups and this place does not disappoint. Their rice and beans are on point and they have jarritos which are my fave! I've never had any issue ordering in Spanish but your mileage may vary if you don't speak the language.
google avatar

Tiffy D.

Yelp
Ordered several tacos. The meat was really flavorful and tender. But the tortillas were pretty hard and did not seem fresh. It was good and the price was right though. The quesabirria was on point!

Shelbi A.

Yelp
Delicious foood ! Great customer service! VERYY CHEAP PRICES! Definitely 10/10 recommend!

Lauren E.

Yelp
Great asada burrito will definitely come back. Worth the $10. They told me cash only so lucky I brought my wallet.
google avatar

Dana D.

Yelp
This place absolutely does not disappoint. My preferred taco is the the lengua - very tender and I swear they must braise it forever. It's excellent. Their beans and rice is excellent and you truly cannot go wrong.

Yelp
After a busy morning of checking out cars at the Nashville Cars and Coffee event, my girlfriend and I stopped at this food truck for some cheap street tacos. She ordered the carnitas and pollo tacos. I order the barbacoa and lengua tacos. I really enjoyed mine and she said hers were very good too. The tacos were flavorful and not dry. Like Sheena and other yelpers have said... these are no longer a dollar each. Most were $1.25 and the lengua was $1.75. Overall, 4 tacos for under $6, I'm good with that.

Yelp
This place was recommended to us on a Facebook page for Nashville visitors. Just outside Nashville in a little parking lot of a gas station. Phenomenal food. Absolutely wonderful. Fresh and hot and delicious. Only drawback is there's no place to eat there so you get it to go. Definitely will go back!

Yelp
Taqueria El Dolar is the perfect spot in Nashville to get authentic and high-quality Mexican foods at an unbeatable low price. This food truck may be easy to overlook, but once you try their amazing items such as their carne asade tacos, you will be hooked. The service this truck provides also cannot be beat, with gracious employees that are proud of their food and business.
google avatar

Yelp
This was my go-to before I moved across town. The food is consistently good and the prices are reasonable. Best sopes and mulitas in town, hands down. And I love that the store is right there so you can grab a Jarritos or whatever while you're waiting for your food. I'd highly recommend you try it. I still try to go by there when I'm in that part of town.

Yelp
I usually order two tacos Al pastor. Today I got the quesabiria, which is a bowl of chili soup and some fried tacos. Quite good and $12 and 20 minutes wait, for a big meal. This taco truck is as good as any and better than most.

Yelp
My place of work is close to Nolensville Pike which is the mecca of awesome authentic taco trucks. Last week I decided to branch out from my normal place and try some other options in the area, and I have some high standards. I must admit I was tempted by the "el dolar" in this food truck's name and decided to venture here first. Parking is a bit tight, but luckily it wasn't busy when I came so I got a spot and there was no line either. My first gripe with this truck: tacos are not a dollar. I repeat...not a dollar. The name of the truck is misleading, the tacos are $1.25. Update the name of your truck if you aren't going to have dollar tacos! Just saying. I ordered two pastor tacos and one chicken plus avocado based on reading other Yelp reviews. I also asked for extra red and green sauce, because that is half the joy of taco trucks for me. So I was disappointed when I opened up my bag and saw only two TINY containers of red and green sauce. So much for the extra... Also, the green sauce wasn't the normal creamy jalapeno sauce that I'm used to and left me disappointed again. The flavor of the meat was good and I added an avocado for very cheap (all 3 tacos plus the extra came out to $4.50) but I need my extra sauce, and theirs wasn't my favorite. I didn't love the pickled veggies either, but appreciated the extra onions. Overall, there are too many options close by to keep this truck on my radar. The search continues...

Rachael R.

Yelp
Exactly what I was craving! I got 3 chicken tacos with rice and beans. The tacos are authentic, simple, no nashville vibes here. The tortillas were doubled on each taco which goes a long way. So good!

Yelp
We stopped by here on a gloomy Sunday afternoon around noon. We'd had Bartaco the day before, which if you've ate there, you'll know it's $2.50-3.50 for a two bite taco that ain't that great. We were wanting some cheap, street tacos. This is a permanent food truck that's located at an old gas station. This place isn't fancy, or even feel very safe, lots of people walking around with shifty eyes. You can't have it all I guess. We looked at the simple menu on the side of the truck. We ordered about 7 tacos (a dollar each), a chicken quesadilla ($5) & a beef mulita ($2). We got a load of food for about 15 bucks. It took only about 10 minutes to get our food. They gave us a few of the red sauce & the green sauce. They weren't too bad, nothing to get excited about. We drove home and ate there. There isn't but maybe 3 spots to park, & one of those is in front of a kerosine pump, so don't be THAT guy & eat in your car like a guy did when we were there. Take it over to the Kroger lot if you must. They kept pretty well on our 10ish minute drive home. The food: I loved the chicken quesadilla. I could eat one of these every day & not get sick of it. It's loaded with chicken (you can choice your own meat to put inside) & cheese. It's not bad for five bucks. The mulita was good. It's basically a grilled taco with meat, so like a quesadilla but not just cheese? Yea? I'd probably just get 2 chicken tacos instead. The tacos. We tried chicken, beef, pork, and pork pastor (spicy pork). All of the meat seemed a little dry to me. I don't know if they don't keep it in liquid like some do, but the beef was almost like it was dehydrated. One of the porks were very crispy. I'd probably go with the chicken taco next time, or even just get the quesadilla.

Yelp
This is not about the tacos but the service. The three men working made me feel very uncomfortable and inferior. Think they were trying to hit on me but were really just picking on me and wouldn't give me my food. Regardless, it was super unprofessional. I ended up leaving. Sorry tacos
google avatar

Carina F.

Yelp
So good. Their carnitas tacos are tender and not dry at all which I've found to be the case at other trucks. Their carne asada tacos are delicious as well. I also liked their barbacoa but if you don't like fat then don't order this. I'm not a fan of their pastor.
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
This taco truck has the best chicken tacos I've ever tasted. With the hot sauce and lime, you literally cannot stop eating tacos. I think we've hit the spot every week all summer b/c we literally cannot stop eating tacos. I recently went rogue and got the chicken burrito. Guess what? It was delicious too. Now I literally cannot stop eating chicken burritos. My wife is a fan of the mulitas as well. But seriously, go here for the tacos. You will never be sad with 5 or 6 tacos in hand!
google avatar

Anna J.

Yelp
We ventured out to get some authentic tacos after the taco truck near our house decidedly to suck. I was very happy that this place is churning out fresh tacos. My personal favorite meat is the carnitas, my husbands favorite is the pastor. They have really good pickled carrots as well as still serve grilled onions with the tacos (a must in my opinion!). Price is reasonable as well.
google avatar

Yelp
#5 We did a taco tour of Nolensville road and this place was the best. The tongue was so tender and delicious. Jamaica was not overly sweet which was nice. Now to be fair I did have a different kind of taco at each truck. My friend however had the steak at all of them and she also thought they were the best.
google avatar

Bjorn B.

Yelp
Our friends live close to this food truck and purchased twenty tacos for us to consume: ten steak and ten chicken. They were really good! I wouldn't say Mexican food is in my top five, but I was really impressed. They are about 6-8 inch wide soft tacos, with the meat of your choice, onions, and some other stuff (I was too hungry to check!) I believe they also offer pork and possibly beef tongue(?). I'll have to pay more attention next time! Recommended!

Andy N.

Yelp
Amazing as always with a cheaper cost then does sit down restaurants! Tacos are always on point!!!
google avatar

Becky B.

Yelp
So we took a day trip to Nashville with some friends and they kept raving about this food truck spot. They said "it doesn't look like much from the outside but trust us the food is amazing". To my surprise this food truck offered a good variety of the traditional Mexican favorites. I had the tacos De barbacoa and they were the bomb! My hubby had the mulitas... I will post a pic so you can see the goodness for yoirself. Four stars because you have to eat it in the car because they dont have tables or chairs outaide. A must try it you in nashville!
google avatar

Ted W.

Yelp
Tasty tacos. We stopped here for a quick snack on the way to the zoo. Had the beef tacos. They are small; smaller than regular tacos, almost appetizer size, but still a really good deal for $1 each considering they were filling and delicious. The pickled carrots were really a treat and worked well with the other flavored. I see myself coming here quite often. 5 stars primarily due to the bang for the "dolar".
google avatar

Paola M.

Yelp
I've gotten tacon and tortas here, they're delicious! They offer pretty much a full menu tho, rice, beans and veggies.
google avatar

Jorge O.

Yelp
The authentic Mexican taco,,,, Evaluation 10 ,,carne asada,al pastor, mulitas tortas , I recommend these tacos
google avatar

Angie B.

Yelp
The BEST tacos in Nashville. Better than any restaurant I've tried. Simple ingredients, simple packaging. Smaller corn tortillas (doubled) for each taco. Garnished with: spicy, pickled carrots and jalapeños, grilled and fresh onions, cilantro and two containers of sauces (red & green). You will not be disappointed with these!
google avatar

Ali S.

Yelp
Just tried this location due to great reviews. This place is legit! I got a carne asada taco, chicken quesadilla, and a chicken sopa. The asada taco was very tiny. Perhaps a one bitter but it was tasty. Only negative is that it was very greasy. Chicken quesadilla was great with plenty of cheese. Chicken was well marinated but a bit on greasy side. The sopa was awesome and very filling. Overall I have to say this is the best taco truck I tried in Nashville so far. Only thing stopping me from being a regular here is the grease factor. Time to hit the treadmill!
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
I have tried about every taco truck in and around Nashville and this one reigns supreme!!
google avatar

Jim B.

Yelp
This is my favorite taco place in Nashville. Always good and for the money, they can't be beat.
google avatar

Mac G.

Yelp
How can you argue with perfection? The chicken is sublime! The barbacoa is tender with a marinade that takes your tastebuds to heaven. And so so so very cheap! There are various vehicles to deliver these standout foods, but I highly recommend their Mulitas ($2 each) and Tacos ($1 each). If it's a busy day with a long wait, ask for a horchata while you wait. This is my second favorite in town. The first is up the road at La Hacienda. You can't go wrong. Clean score of 100. Taste score of 1,000. Go there now!
google avatar

Ray P.

Yelp
I've eaten here a couple times. Really good al pastor. The grilled onions were overcooked, but other than that, spot on. The carnitas is good. Adding this place to my list of go-to taco trucks.
google avatar

Shayne T.

Yelp
Awesome! Half the price of most tacos at only a buck each. Just as delicious. Only downside is it might be tough to get a spot to park when it's busy and cash only.

Paul B.

Yelp
Amazing. I lived in Arizona for 8 years, and this I the closest I have found to perfect street tacos.
google avatar

Shantal F.

Yelp
Best tacos I have ever had! The carnitas and the steak are my favorite. Also, their horchata is AMAZING! I am becoming a regular weekend customer !
google avatar

Nacho A.

Yelp
Great authentic Mexican taqueria food. Take into account how cheap this place is and it's unbeatable. I have yet to find a 99 cent taco that's this good. This coming from a first generation Mexican-American who used to live in Mexico and California. Bang for buck the only other tacos that compete are Tacos El Gordo on H Street in Chula Vista/San Diego and Oscar's Mexican Seafood 99 cent fish tacos in Pacific Beach/San Diego.
google avatar

Graeme Y.

Yelp
I went by Taqueria Dollar #5 for some tacos today. Amazing service, great food, and the prices are solid. If you're on Nolensville Pike heading into Nashville-stop on by.
google avatar

Juan G.

Yelp
Probably the best tacos I've had here in Tennessee. Being from Los Angeles I grew up around Mexican food my whole life and this is actually pretty great. Can't argue with the price either.
google avatar

Will L.

Yelp
Best tacos on this street. Mulitas are phenomenal, tortas, and quesadillas rip as well. Never had bad food here and have conservatively eaten here 50 times. Go inside the convenience store and get some takis, a glass bottle Coke and eat on your tailgate. As authentic as it gets.
google avatar

Andy C.

Yelp
Best Taco Truck!!! Love it! Best prices in town, I am a huge fan of the steak tacos and chicken!
google avatar

Dustin G.

Yelp
My wife and I just moved to the area, and to be quite honest, we only tried this place because it was a food truck that was open at 8:00 and it was packed. I'm going to keep this simple.... this was the best decision we've made since moving here two weeks ago. The chicken tacos were on par with the best I've eaten anywhere, and for 8 tacos and 2 servings of rice and beans, it was only $12.00.... Incredible...simply incredible.
google avatar

Donna C.

Yelp
Hard to find good, authentic Mexican food in middle Tennessee. This place has GREAT tacos at an excellent price!! Al Pastor are my favorite... yummy!!
google avatar

Miles M.

Yelp
I spend more time standing outside of this truck than I do in my own bed. Sometimes I'll visit this place 2-3 times a day. Al pastor tacos and steak mulitas are my staples. Best taco spot on Nolensville rd.
google avatar

Nicole F.

Yelp
I've eaten here numerous times and never have been disappointed. Authentic tacos that are super cheap. The carrots are spicy as hell, so beware of that. I've never waited more than 10 minutes for my order, even if I've ordered a mound of food. I'm pretty sure I've tried everything on the menu, and I haven't had anything I didn't like. A friend of mine always wants to go here every time she visits from California/New York. The chicken tacos are my favorite.
google avatar

Alexandra W.

Yelp
After reading tons of taco truck reviews, we decided to try this one today. The menu and employees are very English friendly, and I didn't feel intimidated to order in English like I do at taco trucks in California! We got 6 beef tacos and a pork quesadilla. The pork quesadilla was weird. The boyfriend chose that combo so I blame him. The meat was on point, just strange in quesadilla form...but he got what he wanted. Ha. The beef tacos were amazing, as expected. Everything was fresh and plentiful. My favorite part of the entire meal was the pickled carrots they give you as a garnish. What are these heavenly creations and how do I make them?! I might ask for a bowl of them next time. Overall, awesome experience. We will definitely be back to try more!
google avatar

Katy B.

Yelp
Our favorite tacos in Nashville: tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. Sit on the curb and enjoy little packets from heaven.
google avatar

Caitlin C.

Yelp
Their tacos are a dollar, you can (and should) add avocado for 35cents. They're open late, I think it's like 10am to 11pm everyday! What more could you ask for really? REALLY??? A friend lives in Woodbine and knows all the good little joints up and down Nolensville...this little taco truck is practically a 2 minute walk from her house and we found ourselves wandering down there at 9:30 to grab us some tacos. The truck is permanently parked in the BP parking lot, run by nice guys making seriously good tacos. I venture to say these tacos were as close as I may come to a real Southern Californian taco. I recommend pork or beef, both were friggin' excellent! Also they give you a charred jalapeno, two slices of spicy picklyish carrots, a lime, hot red and mild green salsaish stuff to go on top. I got two beef and one pork and it was perfect portion amount, although I could totally have eaten two more! Anyway, pretty darn solid!
google avatar

Reed P.

Yelp
This place is incredibly consistent, delicious and fast, especially if you call ahead. Their meats are all juicy and well seasoned. I don't love the barbacoa but the pastor and pollo are on point, which is probably just a preference thing. I have yet to try the lengua but I hear it's great. The mulitas are the best bang for your buck at $2, in my opinion, but the burrito ($5) and the tacos ($1) are also excellent. Either way, you will spend less than $10 and be very satisfied! Don't miss out on this gem.

S M.

Yelp
Outstanding tacos, it's difficult to get an authentic pastor from the spit but these were just as good coming off the grill. Asada tacos were also very good and will definitely return when I go back to Nashville
google avatar

Sir Funky P.

Yelp
By far the best taco truck in Nashville. Carnitas are griddled to perfection, tortillas nicely warmed, pollo was tender and the al pastor was the most authentic tasting pastor I've had in years.

John J.

Yelp
Just ordered there. The cook refused to give us any green sauce. We drive home (15 minutes) and find out they didn't include our burrito.
