We stopped by here on a gloomy Sunday afternoon around noon. We'd had Bartaco the day before, which if you've ate there, you'll know it's $2.50-3.50 for a two bite taco that ain't that great. We were wanting some cheap, street tacos. This is a permanent food truck that's located at an old gas station. This place isn't fancy, or even feel very safe, lots of people walking around with shifty eyes. You can't have it all I guess.
We looked at the simple menu on the side of the truck. We ordered about 7 tacos (a dollar each), a chicken quesadilla ($5) & a beef mulita ($2). We got a load of food for about 15 bucks. It took only about 10 minutes to get our food. They gave us a few of the red sauce & the green sauce. They weren't too bad, nothing to get excited about.
We drove home and ate there. There isn't but maybe 3 spots to park, & one of those is in front of a kerosine pump, so don't be THAT guy & eat in your car like a guy did when we were there. Take it over to the Kroger lot if you must. They kept pretty well on our 10ish minute drive home.
The food: I loved the chicken quesadilla. I could eat one of these every day & not get sick of it. It's loaded with chicken (you can choice your own meat to put inside) & cheese. It's not bad for five bucks. The mulita was good. It's basically a grilled taco with meat, so like a quesadilla but not just cheese? Yea? I'd probably just get 2 chicken tacos instead. The tacos. We tried chicken, beef, pork, and pork pastor (spicy pork). All of the meat seemed a little dry to me. I don't know if they don't keep it in liquid like some do, but the beef was almost like it was dehydrated. One of the porks were very crispy. I'd probably go with the chicken taco next time, or even just get the quesadilla.
