"Taqueria El Poblano Estilo Tijuana is a small taco spot that serves our favorite carne asada taco in the neighborhood. Each order comes on a handmade corn tortilla rolled into a cone filled with a generous serving of beautifully charred beef, spicy green salsa, and a dollop of guacamole. These very special tacos are the reason you might have to stand in line for 30 minutes or more, even on weeknights. Other very good things here include giant quesadillas, crispy mulitas, and gooey vampiros that are all served on the same handmade corn tortillas you get with the tacos." - Nikko Duren

"This California-style Mexican mini-chain is a destination for crispy fish tacos and some of the best margaritas in town; the japapeno and habanero offerings have a nice kick. Keep an eye out for seafood specials." - Missy Frederick

I’m hesitant to leave a review because this is my spot and I don’t want to share it, but tbh they deserve it. The best - margaritas, tacos, chips, salsa, and service. I highly recommend you get Mayra or Renee as your server. Many of the ppl working here have been there for a decade or more, and they are off the charts amazing.

We really enjoyed this place. We had drinks and the fried jalapeño appetizer. That was not my favorite, but we had a great overall experience. I would definitely recommend this place.

We went here during lunch today, this is our first date spot. Unfortunately the service incredibly lacked. The food was absolutely horrible like no effort at all went into it. The tacos were oily and smothered in Lettuce or guacamole,.no protein just all the sides. I ordered the Tostadas and they should be picked up and eaten, it was a mountain of Lettuce. This place is definitely not the same. The chips and salsa were the best part of the meal, and the margaritas were pretty good, but again not like they used to be.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. We came in just for margaritas and appetizers while we waited for our appointment across the street. Everything we got was good, the margaritas were well done, and the customer service was outstanding. Vegetarian and kid options available, good prices. It has a nice atmosphere as well. We ubered on vacation so I can't speak to parking.

We did takeout and ordered a taqueria combo with beans, rice, a chicken tamal, and an al pastor taco. The rice and beans were ok, but the taco al pastor had a significant amount of gristle in it and the tamal wasn’t edible; it was quite stale and had a seriously weird taste.

On a Friday, we got our food in came out in less than ten minutes. My husband and I were shocked. Well seasoned food and not overwhelming with spice. The tacos are the right amount of meat with other toppings. The staff also is nice and well attentive.

Will visit again and recommend for anyone in the area itching for a great margarita and Mexican. Warning — for flour tortilla devotees, their enchiladas are made with corn tortillas.

I'm not from the area and needed some good Mexican food. This one had good reviews and I went for it. The hostess was awesome and gave me some good recommendations based on her favorites. It was just me and I felt like I was kind of put in the corner and forgotten about after taking me seat. When the waitress did arrived to take my order she suggested a margarita and I declined. I was there for the food but I could see how it could be a great spot for their famous margaritas. I munched on some chips and loved their salsa. I told myself that my hotel was closed and I would be back every night for dinner if it was as good as the chips and salsa. The steak tampiqueño arrived hot and smelling delicious. Unfortunately, it was good enough to eat but not amazing and full of abuela's sabor like I craved.. The beans, rice, and even steak lacked authentic flavor, or any flavor really. I'm a huge lover of good beans and rice but almost couldn't finish the beans because there was no party in my mouth when eating. BUT the cheese and onion enchiladas were somewhere between wonderful and amazing. I would have liked some more water during my dinner but the next time I saw the waitress was with the check so I paid and left. I live in an area with zero Mexican options so it was good to be in a colorful room with music and smells that make me happy and had an authentic feel but it wasn't as good as I expected. I was there for a work event and mentioned it to some coworkers who live in the area and their answer was the greater DC area is not an easy place to find solid Mexican food. For that I'm going with three stars as it was average in an area of average to below average Mexican food options. It may be the best in the area but it wasn't the best I have ever had or what I needed to leave with a happy belly and a side of flan for the road.
