The Best Tacos in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"This Mid-City staple came on the heels of the post-Katrina taco trucks — as unpretentious as the decor, tacos here are without gimmicks and served street-style with few ingredients centered around well-flavored meat, cilantro and onions. Barbacoa remains a best bet. Warning: you won’t be able to stop eating the spicy salsa verde." - Beth D’Addono

The Best Mexican Food in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"The name of the game at Taqueria Guerrero is affordable comfort food, nothing fancy to see here. The menu is huge and homemade, with tacos filled with tender pastor, carne asada, lengua, and tripas. Come hungry for copious portions of tortas, chimichangas, enchiladas, and chile rellenos. No margaritas, but there’s lots of Mexican beer to sip." - Beth D’Addono

The Best Breakfast Tacos and Burritos in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"Without a doubt one of the city’s best spots for homey Mexican specialties, this Mid City outpost has excellent, extensive breakfast options, including four types of breakfast burritos. It also opens at 9 a.m. and serves breakfast all day, so it’s a great spot for a hangover cure (get the menudo as well) after a long night out." - Clair Lorell

The Best Hangover Cures in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"Menudo is a spicy Mexican soup usually made from tripe. At Taqueria Guerrero, an oft-overlooked Mid City gem, you can find the well-known hangover cure, in addition to excellent traditional items that are also likely to do the trick (nachos!)." - Clair Lorell

Food was great, tamales are giant. Tacos were perfect too. Service was perfect as well. The best in New Orleans

Love how friendly and comfy this restaurant is. The food itself was just okay, but the waiter brought this spicy avocado salsa and it legit upgraded it! Prices were great, and the staff was very attentive! Definitely worth the stop

I’m from Texas, and this was my first time trying the Mexican food here in New Orleans. I made the right choice, because this was some of the best I’ve had! The coffee was so rich and the food came in less than 3 minutes, fresh as can be. Service was impeccable, vibes were immaculate. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food. Todo estaba tan riquísimo. 👏

The meal was delicious. We ordered lengua and pastor tacos. The service was exceptional; our waitress was courteous and periodically checked on us to ensure our satisfaction. The pricing was comparable to other Mexican restaurants.

I’ve had the pleasure of eating a lot of Mexican food throughout my life, having lived in places such as Houston, El Paso, Texas, Edinburgh, Texas, and San Diego, California. Oh my God! This is the best Mexican food I’ve had in a while! I had to leave a review! I will definitely be coming back!

The food here is delicious. There is a little inconsistency in portion sizes though. For example, the chimichanga is massive (enough for two meals if you don't eat a whole lot) but the quesadilla is very small. That's the only reason I gave them a four star for food. Service gets a four star because it's a tad slow sometimes. The servers are very kind, but they sometimes forget to refill your drink, get you a to-go box, etc., forcing you to flag them down. Not too big of an issue though. Certainly wouldn't prevent me from returning. Not much to say on the atmosphere other than the restaurant is clean and colorful. Overall, this is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants (certainly in New Orleans). I have gone to this restaurant several times and will continue to do so.

This place is a gem!! Easy to get to, the food is authentic and delicious (and comes out nice and hot), the service was quick, and our waiter was awesome. The meat was so tender and flavorful for each of the 3 mains we ordered, and the lime that came with the tacos was huge and juicy. Guacamole had actual chunks of avocado. Highly recommend.
