The food was delicious and they provided free chips and fajitas (fried onions and green peppers), which is great. We ordered Molcajete and tacos, the portion was big enough to serve two people.

My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time and we both enjoyed our meals. I also got some Jamaica water and I loved it. We made our order online; when we came arrived they made sure we had everything we ordered. Everyone was super friendly, it was a great service. They have a salsa bar and we loved their tortilla chips!

Google
This place was good when we came here last year, but disappointing tonight. Chicken enchilada was decent, but the meat in our tacos and torta was dry and not particularly well seasoned. The bun on my torta was chared. They have a good salsa bar; I particularly like the fried chilies in with the tortilla chips.

Pass this place all the time, and I decided to stop in today. Got the super quesadilla de asada. Very flavorful, another person in my party got the shrimp tacos. Can't wait to give those a try. Highly suggest you give it a try too.

Wonderful customer service, excellent food, very welcoming atmosphere, indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend, been here numerous times, will be back soon for more of their great tasting food.

I stopped in for some tacos, and was very pleased, from food presentation to taste, my meal was delicious. I ordered 2 carnitas, 2 carne asada, and 2 chicken asado tacos with a side of perfectly cooked and portioned rice and beans. I loved the various options at the salsa bar including the grilled peppers and onions self serve (so smart to do this, other places usually charge extra for grilled onion and peppers). I would definitely recommend and eat here again via Doordash more than likely, as I didn't feel welcome. I'd give 5 stars instead of 4 if the customer service was good. Wasn't sure if it was because Im black or because of language barrier, but no one spoke back as I greeted on my way in and out. Wait time was very decent for my order, and my carnitas was cooked to perfection. Food very well executed

Google
Came here while we were in the neighborhood (we're from Yuba City, I know ugh lol) and decided to try it out. Prices looked decent and the reviews were awesome. Well, let me tell you...This Mexican restaurant did not disappoint. We ordered a carné asada plate and 3 chicken tortas. The plate was delicious but the chicken tortas were extremely flavorsome, mouthwatering, and scrumptious! Absolutely delicious! I even told my man that it was better than my mom's and grandmas tortas and I rarely say this 😭😂 The tortas are also HUGE and well worth the price. Social distancing is enforced and it's a very clean place. I'm definitely coming here again. Loved it!

Google
Good Mexican food. Food was prepared in a timely manner, there were free chips and a salsa bar. Place was clean, but can feel a bit cramped. Bathrooms were available to the customers as well. I had the 2 enchiladas plate which came with a side of rice, beans, and some vegetables.

Yelp
An authentic taqueria near the Lemon Hill area with a huge menu. I ordered 3 soft tacos with a variety if meat optioms: chicken, carnitas and pork belly. To drink I had a pineapple agua fresca. Seating is limited. Order at the front and take your number with you to your table. Salsa bar and chips are self serve. Chips were a little salty for me. The pico de gallo salsa was good! And I loved the cold nopales salad! Would visit again. My tacos were delicious.

Yelp
My husband and I like to come here for their super burrito. It's made exactly how I like it with everything in it. Customer service is always consistent and good. I also like coming here because of their salsa bar. It's nice and quiet here and usually not busy. You can usually find parking.

Yelp
I forgot I had reviewed this place a year ago, but my rating and thoughts remain relatively the same. I got 4 carne asada tacos, held the salsa, (they were $3 something each and I miss the days when tacos were less than three) and shared carne asada fries with my little brother. My tacos were pretty good, but like a year ago, I think they're still dry. The tortillas don't seem to be moist and even with a bunch of lime, I need so much water because I'm chewing so long and hard. Fries in the photo have pico added because it does not come with it, which I still wish was a standard. I like these better than I did before. I like the way the fries were cooked and overall was satisfied with it.

Yelp
Although I ordered shrimp tacos, they gave me fish tacos in my takeout order. They were good, but not what I was expecting. The taqueria offers a chips and salsa bar, grilled onions, and jalapeños, along with about 6 to 8 different salsas. They have a very large menu typical of a Mexican taqueria. I really wanted shrimp tacos, so I guess I'll have to go back again.

Yelp
Delicious authentic style Mexican food! The service was really spot on and it felt like you were at a family's kitchen. They have a great selection at the salsas and chip bar. The menu has a lot of options including great specialty items. It is located in a strip mall and not super visible. We had the carne asada fries which came with crispy string potatoes, crispy tacos with carnitas and steak and bistek which had a great spice to them.

Yelp
I'm from the Bay Area but have been here 3 times when I come to visit Honestly the tacos are 3.5/5 kinda thing maybe the timing ? But I always go for the burritos which to me was really good ! California burrito had some Nice crispy fries good flavor with the guacamole and it was pretty huge. I only ate about half Kids quesadilla was good beans and rice were alright could have used a little more salt maybe. Michelada was hellaaa good Give it a try :)

Yelp
I went to Taqueria Hecho en Mexico last weekend I was impressed. This is the best Mexican food I have ever had in Northern California. The Chile relleno was perfect cooked, the salsas were fantastic and they even have fresh squeezed orange juice. The juice was all sweet citrus deliciousness, fresh squeezed.

Yelp
This was my husband and I's go to breakfast spot the last few months because their breakfast burritos are reasonably priced. However, his last trip this past weekend to pick up our to go order was less than stellar. He arrives after the wait time they recommended, and the cashier quickly rings him up. She then goes to grab a bag, gets side tracked and never gives it to him. He thought it was weird but figured it wasn't his after all. He then waits fifteen more minutes in a visible spot (the restaurant is not big). The whole time I'm sure the cashier saw him. After time goes by another worker finally asks him his order. The guy then goes to grab the same bag the cashier has grabbed now twenty minutes prior. By the time our food arrived home it was soggy and disappointing. The tacos had way too much salsa and it was uncomfortably spicy for me (I like choosing and putting my desired amount). I ended up not even eating it all and let my husband eat it. The chorizo in the breakfast burrito was greasier than normal too. I thought we found a good spot, but sadly we were wrong. Will continue the hunt for the best breakfast burritos in town. Still, I'd say I'd generously give three out of five stars as other experiences were decent, but there's way too many other spots in Sac to stick with one that's mediocre.

Yelp
I'm always looking for the next authentic Mexican joint here. This has to be on my top so far. There is a few things I'm still in the search but I thoroughly enjoyed their tacos. They were well seasoned, and cooked very well. Their service was lovely and attentive. I specially love that they play authentic Mexican music lol. I will definitely return.

Yelp
So, Quesa Birrias seems to be the thing these days. Not the hugest fan, but I have to say these guys do it right! I lied, these things are absolutely wonderful!! Very big menu. Awesome salsa bar. And lots of comfortable seating inside. The staff was equally awesome. Super patient, as I spent like an hour persusing their massive menu, and super kind. The restaurant was also really clean, and it was nice to see the staff on their down time to continue to clean and keep their place spic and span! Honestly, I love that! They also have Pozole on the menu, which I absolutley love, I'm gonna have to come back to try that. Also, their regular carnitas tacos, gonna have to come back to try that as well. Hecho en Mexico! Good stuff man! Good stuff!

Yelp
Tuesday Special 5 street Tacos and Drink (soda) for $12; pick 2 meats - I chose Asada and Pastor with everything (Onions, Cilantro & Salsa). Tacos had Great flavor, Pastor was my Favorite. Salsa Bar was clean and plentiful. My Modelo Michelada sealed the deal, I'll be back!

Yelp
The restaurant is a cute little very casual place for solid Mexican food. They have a ton of options. And the service is OK. Unfortunately, when we were there, they kept running some very loud machine for extended periods and it became incredibly difficult for me to communicate with my friend in casual conversation. They do have a salsa bar with good selection.
google avatar

Cassandra N.

Yelp
When my dad suggests a spot, it's usually good. This place is no exception! For starters, they have a parking lot with plenty of spaces, which is an automatic win. There are a decent amount of seats inside, and food comes out quickly. The ambiance is what you'd expect of a typical taqueria, so I felt right at home. We got self serve chips and salsa while we waited for the food, and they were decent. All of the food we tried was solid- my favorite were the street tacos. Birria was just okay, and the burritos were a crowd favorite. I think I want to try more from the menu to get a solid grip on it, but definitely a great option!

Yelp
Customer service was horrible. Walked in and ordered our food. Waited about like 10 mins just for shrimp tostada when we also got a quesadilla n 3 tacos. I had asked them about it, then the girl had smacked her lips and walked away. After waiting for 20 more minutes for our quesadillas and tacos, they gave us a reg size when we ordered super, also they judge by your race and make you wait longer then usual.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered the giant quesadilla for $14.99. Please note that I don't have an issue with the price, however the portion size was not giant. The quesadilla was delicious and the to go service was excellent. I would have given them a higher rating if the portion size matched the description. Nevertheless, I still recommend them and will have to go to the location.

Yelp
i love this place. camarones a la diabla is so good. carnitas burrito so good. breakfast burrito so good.

Yelp
Loved: Chip and salsa bar. Order 1 quesadilla and wanted rice and bean on the side. It's was good but the quesabirria could've have more flavor to it and more crunchy and cheese. Hardly no cheese

Yelp
We found this place at the last minute during a visit to Sac and I am so glad we did. The ambience is nice, not of the full-on cantina variety but open and bright. Though it is a counter service establishment, they do bring the food to your table. The salsa bar is incredible. They offer three types of salsa (two red and one green), chips, lemon, fresh pico de gallo, grilled onions and peppers, and delicious escabeche (pickled peppers and vegetables), the latter of which you don't find at every Mexican restaurant in NorCal. This escabeche is also unique in that it includes pickled potatoes in addition to the more typical peppers and other vegetables. The food is served almost as quickly as it is ordered (less than five minutes in our case of a vegetarian burrito and Chile relleno) and is positively delicious. The prices are great, given the portions offered and the excellent Mexican flavor. I was delighted to see a nice variety of vegetarian items as well, in addition to our fare. All in all, I will happily revisit this restaurant when I am in the area and hungry for some south-of-the-border flavor.

Yelp
If I would be able to give negative points I would. My family and i came here to celebrate my daughters 15th birthday. I ordered a red wet carnitas super burrito. The food for all 5 of us came out a bit at a time. When my husband took a bite of his crispy Shrimp taco I knew I wasn't going to be happy with my burrito. The red sauce tasted like Campbell's tomato soup. The beans tasted like canned refried beans, and the carnitas were way too crisp, it was like crunchy and not edible. We wasted over 100 dollars on 5 plates and it definitely wasn't worth. We will not ever go back here.

Yelp
The staff here are so incredibly sweet, they were patient with our order and indecisiveness. Then, they checked up on us twice to see if everything was okay, which they totally didn't need to but the fact that they did elevated our experience. My friend and I may have over-ordered and everything was so good!! - Salsa bar and chips: (4) different salsas ranging from mild - spicy. they all were good! I liked the spiciest one. -street tacos: 1 lengua, 1 tripa, 3 carne asada. Some of the tripa was really cooked to the point where it was crunchy, some of the carne asada meat was also a bit overcooked -- crunchy/dry but it was bout like 2-3 pieces that were like that. As a whole with all the toppings and salsa, the tacos were bout 4/5! I would still get it again. -Mexifries with carne asada: LOADED with guac and sourcream. The pico de gallo is at the salsa bar so I guess you can add this in yourself. Fries were soft and skinny which is my reference! 4/5 -Tostada de ceviche de pescado 5/5: so so so goood and fresh! make sure to eat this right away otherwise the tostada gets soggy. they LOADED this baby up and did not skimp on anything!!!!! -jamaica agua fresca 5/5 refreshing drink to wrap up the meal. they also have alcohol here (which I didnt know but next time im comng, im enjoying this meal with some beers/margaritas!) Overall, quick and convenient mexican food that I will definitely come back for.

Yelp
This place deserves 5 stars! This location is one of the best taquerias I've ever tried in sac. The rolled tacos were amazing! Tortillas were homemade, huge salsa bar and overall great clean restaurant style. Thank you Angelica for great customer service as well! She was proactive and caters to her guests. I will be back!
google avatar

Isabel P.

Yelp
Customer Service was over the top. You know it's good Mexican food when the spot has lots of Latinos ordering! Delicious salsa bar and variety of menu items. Took our food to go but next time we will each there. Carne Asada Plate, enchiladas, combo taco plate and Pozole...all large portions. Ambiance makes me want to come back.
google avatar

Michael V.

Yelp
Excellent food. Carnitas is great. Salsa is great. Got my order right even though it's complex. Competitive pricing.
google avatar

Terry O.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I decided to try this taqueria out because of the good reviews and sadly was very disappointed we ordered a pastor super burrito and a chicken Flauta plate, pastor was dry and burnt what I didn't want on the burrito was on it and what I added wasn't on it, flautas were made extra wet for some weird reason doesn't mention that on the menu, just horrible I called and they didn't care to make the situation right so we'll never be going back there again. Waist of money couldn't even eat it
google avatar

Nathanial J.

Yelp
Love this place they have the best tacos!! I wish they were closer to me but I don't mind traveling
google avatar

Yelp
Food: A Service:A+ Ambience:B+ I had the chiles rellenos they were delicious Next time I'm going to try something else from the menu, there's a plus they have a self-service salsa bar with chips, can't go wrong
google avatar

Gillian A.

Yelp
I got a taco salad with al pastor as the protein (pretty impressive on the protein selection here in general.....there are even cabeza and lengua options). Although the al pastor wasn't the most tender al pastor that I've had, it was super duper tasty. The flavor combo of many spices with the extra bonus of some char.....deliciousness. The other ingredients in the taco salad were seasoned well also (although a tad too much tomato bouillon on the Mexican rice, but that's a nitpick). I like ordering taco salads because I also intend to eat the shell, but unfortunately the shell here was too greasy for me to enjoy. Thought the complimentary chips would satisfy my crunch craving, but the chips were pretty stale. Some hits and misses. Would recommend getting the taco salad if you still want to eat burrito fixings with a fork, but otherwise just get the burrito form instead.

Audrey B.

Yelp
Nachos were super mid. Not the biggest portion especially for $13 after tax. I have been here before and thought the food was better in the past too. Some cheese and chips and salsa with a little meat and canned refried beans shouldn't be this expensive. Chips were a little stale too, which sucks. Also notice the clump of chips stuck together on my nacho plate. Went here because it was closer than the place I really wanted to go to, but I think I'll stick to my usual spots. The good: love the grilled onions at the salsa bar. Those are awesome.
google avatar

Nehemiah B.

Yelp
Everything tastes perfect. I ordered super burritos. Friendly service. And spaces tables
google avatar

Ss S.

Yelp
The nachos were mediocre. The carne asada and pollo tacos were real good! The chicken torta was good too. The proportion was perfect! The spiciest salsa was not good. Tasted like an old kitchen. The other salsas were OK. Salsa is huge make or break for me. Im glad I tried this spot, but I prob won't return.
google avatar

Sharon M.

Yelp
first time trying out this restaurant. Everything came out pretty fast. My hubby had crispy shrimp and a carnitas taco. I had street tacos, carne asada and carnitas were both tasty! I also had Jamaica aqua frescas. salsa bar was good too, especially the green one . Definitely be back!
google avatar

Randy A.

Yelp
Food - A+ Staff - A+ Seating - A+ Parking - A+ Had a great experience and enjoyed the authentic food.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Finally gave this spot another try. They now have a salsa bar and make their own chips. Definitely a plus, their portion for the molcajete was huge. It was good but not as good as the one I recently had in Mexico. I love buche and I do have to say they have one of the best buche that I've tried. Good service and friendly workers. Will be my 2nd go to spot for buche. First is still la Esperanza
google avatar

Jim P.

Yelp
I ordered my usual taqueria meal--a super burrito with carnitas. The burrito was similar to what I find at lots of other Sacramento-area taquerias, but stood out for a couple reasons. First, it was larger than at most other places. Second, the carnitas was much tastier. It had that crispy goodness that I love so much but don't always get. The chips were OK, and the salsa was good. I'll definitely eat here again.
google avatar

Jessica O.

Yelp
Breakfast burritos are super small and very salty, but if you can get past the salt, the actual flavor is decent. The crispy fish taco on the other hand, has almost no flavor. The fish is cooked beautifully though. The carnitas are pretty good, but again very salty. I asked for sour cream in my chorizo breakfast burrito and they didn't add any, so I recommend checking your order before leaving.
google avatar

Joshua U.

Yelp
This place was amazing! I decided to come here after craving some Mexican food and this definitely hit the spot. The customer service was amazing to begin with. I order two tacos al pastor and a torta de milanesa. Food took around 10 minutes to come out and I was blown away by just how massive the torta was! The flavor was amazing, the sauce was delicious, the meat was well cooked and the bread complimented it all. The tacos was great too, I loved how well marinated the tacos were and how much meat they put on them! I will definitely be back here to try some birria tacos.
google avatar

Maira C.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in here last night to grab a bite to eat since we were in the area and let me tell you we were not disappointed. We both had a torta which is basically a Mexican sandwich and it was delicious the biggest problem I have whenever I order a torta from anywhere the bread is always dry and too thick, but their bread was so soft and not thick at all. It was perfect. I would definitely come back to enjoy another third that here we did also order the super nachos to try those out, they were pretty good as well but I would say the thought that was better. Definitely check them out if you're looking for a good torta.
google avatar

Leeann L.

Yelp
Still love this place! All the taco meats I've had here are pretty solid(I really recommend the tripas and adobada) and the seafood and Birria tacos here are also bomb. Customer service is also really solid and efficient as they do check up on you despite being a mostly self serve Mexican spot and I love the salsa and chips bar that they have. The only food that I don't think I'd really get from here is probably the fries just because they are never really crispy and taste just boiled. But other than that, the taco Tuesday's are especially worth it!
google avatar

Trish E.

Yelp
Ordered online. Fast and efficient. The CALDO de RES and Birria tacos were delicious and arrived hot. Chips and salsa were a nice yummy touch. Flan was great tasting!
google avatar

David O.

Yelp
Ordered a jumbo burrito with shrimp. Food was promptly made and served by a caring staff. Chips and salsa were ok but the burrito was huge but excellent. Lot of shrimp, which is nice because a lot of places skimp when you order camarones. Burrito was delicious with a ton of different flavors but probably too much sour cream and cheese inside which made eating it messy (lot of oil oozing out). Inside was clean, the staff are polite and I would come back if in the area again but probably try the tacos or something else on the menu.
google avatar

Kailey C.

Yelp
I always get the fries with choice of meat every time it's offered at a Mexican place. This place does not skimp out on the meat in their fries! I got buche and it was SO, SO, SO GOOD. I'm already craving it again and it hasn't even been a week yet. The fries are skinny fries, which I prefer over fat fries +1. The downside is that they do not include pico in the fries which is always included at other places. Also got a buche burrito and it was good as well. I really enjoyed the rice in the burrito but the beans were all spread on one side of the burrito and it seemed like the filling wasn't even. Likely a mishap but would definitely recommend this place. Will be returning for sure.
google avatar

James P.

Yelp
I ordered this for my friend before, had some good response, this time 10/10/21 I ordered for my friend and me. I was so shocked that other then my missing fries I received an avacado that was old.. I am not sure why any business would do this. I called the store to ask for my missing fries, why my avacado was like this. I was only told to contact doordash, no apology from the business itself on how they prepared my food. Good flavors and worth the price but it's saddening to receive such.

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for some good Mexican food and thought we'll give this place a try since reviews were so good. The hours are a little bit confusing since Yelp says it open till 11:00 p.m. but Google said 10:00 p.m. We placed our order and got there by 10:03 p.m. their Open sign was still up so I'm glad we didn't make them wait for us. I did call ahead to ask what time they close but the lady just said "in a bit" which wasn't helpful. We went ahead and order by phone for a to go order. We got a wet burrito and a super burrito. When we got to the restaurant for pick up there was still customers inside. We paid for our order and came home to eat. My husband's wet burrito had a piece of hair in it and my super burrito was soggy I really wanted to like this place but it did not leave a good impression and we will not be coming back.

Yelp
Mmm, mmm, mmm!!! The quesobriar tacos are possibly made by agents of heaven. Whatever grumbling I had, turned into joy and gladness! Whatever bitter taste of hunger, I was filled with happy cheesing tacos topped with their in-house made chili oil, punchy salsas, and grilled jalapeños and onions. Oh the joy of dipping the quesobriar tacos into the house made consomé was. So. Exciting! The oil from the broth dripped as the taco sailed into my mouth, one-by-ONE! Pre-destination. God's sovereignty. Wow!

Yelp
So glad we found this place! We were in the mood for Mexican last night and were turned down from 2 other restaurants since they ran out of food/closed early and ended up running into this place! Plus, our server was AMAZING. We got orders of birria tacos, a carne asada California burrito, micheladas, Aguas, and beer. Birria tacos were quite good - texture 5/5 with loosely shredded pieces of meat and crunchy exterior. The consommé was a bit oilier than I prefer but flavor wise it was good and we all finished our portion. CA burrito - hella big!! Not as much meat as you would see in SD or anything but it is a well balanced amount. Each bite was so good . Drinks were good! Horchata on the watery side but the tamari do was bomb. Mix it with a Corona and *chefs kiss* Salsa bar and sides - wish they had a spicier salsa but their pickles so good!! Pretty hard to come by pickled potatoes - my fav! Hi So glad we found this place, will definitely be back!

Yelp
Been I search of molcajete marino, since I moved in Sacramento. Been craving it for 2 mos now. Finally found a place, and it's this place...You know a hood place when many patronage come. We walked in here and there were already like 10 people inside..So I called prior to make sure that they have what I've been craving for, saw there menu and viola! Ordered it..Also ordered mango margarita, which tasted watered down, BUT Alex, made it better, we didn't want our money back, we just wanted to enjoy what was ordered..So from watered down margarita to WOWZER! We were like DANG.. Anywhere, the molcajete matino is a hit for me that is and the fixed margarita was even better,, Thanks again Alex you are awesome..great customer service..

Yelp
Best place we've had so far in Sacramento :))) good quality food and its very nice and clean

Yelp
This is the place to eat if you like authentic Mexican food, I ordered chilaquiles (rojos) and it brought back memories from my childhood. Service is amazing!!!! Angelica made us feel like family. Looking forward to our next visit

Yelp
I was in Sacramento looking for some Mexican food and this place popped up with some high ratings. Nice! Upon first glance they do have indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating was a little suspicious since it looked like not all the tables were 6 feet apart. Yikes! Another yikes moment was the self-service station for salsa. In the Bay Area, they have completely taken out all self-service stations so it was very surprising to see! I feel like this restaurant threw out all the social distancing guidelines out the window...but they still need you to wear a mask when you walk inside? Makes no sense to me. Thank goodness there was the option to sit outside. At least they provide hand sanitizer and all staff is wearing masks. I ordered the super burrito with no sour cream and grilled chicken which was around $11. I sit down outside and wait for my food. It did not take very long and my burrito was pretty big. Unfortunately it was already leaking...but hey, it's not a good burrito unless it is messy! First bite was great and got a little bit of everything in one bite. It was really cheesy and that was definitely one of my favorite parts of the burrito. The only downside was the grilled chicken. I had a lot of hard, dark char-like pieces. Some parts were almost inedible and I had to spit them out. I didn't want to complain, as I was pretty hungry. Luckily, there were no more hard pieces and I was able to enjoy the rest. I don't know why this place has such high ratings. The food was okay and the guidelines were almost non-existent. I will not be back.
