Invicto, a new Mexican fast-casual chain from former Naf Naf Grill execs, is opening in Naperville, Vernon Hills, and Chicago - Eater Chicago

"Invicto is a new fast-casual Mexican street food chain set to debut in early October. The restaurant stands out due to its on-premises tortilla preparation and unique decor. The menu features authentic Tijuana-style tacos, cemitas, Mexican milkshakes, Mexican-style poutine, Sonoran hot dogs, and quesadillas. The restaurant aims to transport customers to a taqueria in Mexico City and offers a variety of items inspired by different regions of Mexico." - Ashok Selvam

I wasn’t quite prepared for a first time visitor having to order from a small tablet. The guys didn’t speak much English and had a difficult time communicating. Was able to finally get something ordered. Within no time the food came out. The birria was flavorful and the tacos were cooked to perfection. Rice was cooked fresh, and the beans were somewhat bland, but not horrible. I would definitely visit again to try something else on the menu!

Stopped by on a Friday night. There are only two kiosks at this location, and since it was our first time here, we didn’t get a chance to read through the menu. We had to rush to place our orders because there were people waiting behind us. There are only a few vegetarian options. We ordered the avocado tacos and the pepper and onion taco. The corn tortillas were very thick and undercooked, and the portion size was quite small for the price. The Mexican City Coke had an overpowering coconut flavor, which wasn’t great either. The interior is nice, but overall, it was an average experience. There are much better taco places in the Naperville area.

Not wild about the kiosk ordering but besides that cool experience. Food is very good. Shakes and dirty drinks are worth the extra bump in price. Has a salsa bar and liquor drinks as well.

Finally tried this place and it was really good that we went two days in a row! We had the hot Cheeto burrito 10/10 and tacos my favorite taco was the fried avocado one but all the others were also great. They have a salsa bar and we liked quite a few of them. Definitely going back for more 🌮

This used to be my favorite Mexican food restaurant. They had a fantastic mushroom option for the protein, but they recently removed it from the menu. The mushrooms (hongos) is what made this place great. Even as an omnivore, i chose the mushrooms, they were that great. This reduced the options of vegetarian options. But hey, they added Mexican hot chicken 🤔 as an option.

Authentic, delicious food and drinks. There is a self-serve salsa bar and excellent chips to order.

Went here for lunch. You are required to order by yourself on a machine and get an order number. They are pretty fast at making the food so there is little to no wait. Food is pretty good, though it was a little too spicy for me so account one level up when looking at the level of spice on the dish you want to order. Not meant to spend a lot of time there and enjoy a meal. Recommend for a quick bite

This place has consistently put out great authentic food. The atmosphere is great and the decor a quaint hodge-podge of mismatched chairs and tables with a rustic desert town vibe. The counter service lends itself to lunch on-the-go, but they also offer catering for bigger events. Everything here is wonderful down to the Mexican Coca-Cola products.
