"Handmade tortillas, y’all. There is nothing like ‘em, and the South Austin truck makes some of the best in town for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu is pretty simple — tacos, sopes, tortas, quesadillas, and a hamburger for good measure. The barbacoa is immensely popular as is the cheesy “gringa” taco. Orders can be placed in person or over the phone; there are outdoor dine-in areas." - Nadia Chaudhury

Google
Food was good but be sure to check your credit card transaction after ordering here. We ordered 15 street tacos and were charged something like 65 dollars which I thought seemed exceptionally high for street tacos. When it hit my account we were actually charged 77 dollars. So it seems like the vendor added a $10+ tip.

Google
Going south for Sunday breakfast tacos. Way Down on Williams Cannon at Taqueria Morales. Same first order as everywhere. Chorizo and egg and bacon and egg on flour tortillas. First time in a long time that I preferred the bacon. Crushed up with the eggs. Well cooked. One of the best bacon and egg on town. Chorizo was good, but I'd actually order the bacon here. Tortillas are good. A bit rubbery, but heated up right before serving. Good volume on the tacos Two is a meal at $2.50 each. Recommend.

Google
Some of the best tacos I have ever had! When I first moved to Austin I was staying only blocks from here, now I am in Williamson County and I miss this place. Going to need to head down sometime soon.

Google
Their al pastor & barbacoa are legendary. It was my favorite taco truck in south Austin when I lived nearby & I still go across town to get their tacos... They really are quite tasty! And their fresh salsas are just right, too!

Lorenzo Long

Google
This is my favorite taco spot in all of Austin. I've eaten here more times than I can remember. Small and unassuming, but delicious tacos. Reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

Google
Great food truck for authentic Mexican food. Loved the Tamale, it was my first time trying a Tamale, I choose the chicken Tamale with corn wrap. This is a simple, yet filling dish. It is kind on the stomach as it's steamed and not fried. Add a pinch of salt and dip it in sauce for a better taste. The burrito and street side Tacos were great too. Ps. They only accept cash.

Tan

Google
Barbacoa is the star of the show while chicken fajita and bisteck were just okay. 4 dollars per specialty taco and 3.50 for the chicken a total of 11.90ish. And honestly at those prices for three smallish tacos it was not worth it to me. Some people will find more value in that but I was far from satisfied sadly.

Zachary Foster

Google
I thought tacos were decent but have had better tacos and for cheaper. ~$4 for a taco seems a bit much for a street taco

alyssa j.

Yelp
Food is delicious, and service is fast! Migas are so yummy and the salsa is hot! Enjoy

Alfred M.

Yelp
It's not much to look at but they have great mini tacos. Today we had mini tacos, three de tripa and three de chicharron. They were excellent!

Yelp
Pretty decent tacos. Hot and pretty quick. Not so excited to take your order. Also check your bag before you leave. They have forgot a taco once or twice.

Angela M.

Yelp
We ordered the barbacoa tacos, pastor tacos, and chicken fajita torta. Tacos were BOMB! We even had them the next day reheated and they were just as good or even better :D the torta was good but the tacos really were the stars of the show. Also, their green and red chiles were chef's kiss. The gentleman at the window was super helpful and kind. I ordered over the phone and it was a breeze. They have good parking, next to a gas station, and a picnic table if you wanted to enjoy the food there. Cute place! I will be returning!

Jason B.

Yelp
At this point I've had every taco on the menu delicious every single time. If you're a real taco lover look at the tortilla it tells you everything and made delicious. Always plenty of filling and lots of flavor one of my definite go to spots for the delicious taco. It's cash only still have your money ready worth every penny.

Papa K.

Yelp
Good folks and service. Doing a breakfast taco tasting around the area. Chorizo had a nice bite and the red sauce added nice flavor. I definitely see why the reviews are strong. Looking forward to coming back try some of the barbacoa or the fajitas that the team is especially proud of. Thanks folks!

Yelp
Oh the Taco life, On this occasion looking for a taco stand my friend suggested this taco food truck based on his search within the Yelp App, although I have lived in Austin for a long time and I know the area I had never eaten in this place, in general it was a good experience and I would definitely go back or recommend to my friends based on the following: - The location is accessible, open area and looked clean although the signs in the parking lot by Precision Tune Auto Care leave one wondering if they could take your car while you eat, it may seem like a stretch but in the end we are in Austin and I have seen all. - The tacos had a good flavor, the portions of the ingredients were enough for the taco to barely close, one sauce per taco and obviously I am excited to see that the tortillas were made by hand, the experience with the food in general was good. - They only accept cash and here is the part that I couldn't give it 5/5 especially after the pandemic, I understand that the commissions from POS services and transactions are not so friendly for this type of business but the potential of accepting cards and contactless payments in terms of generating more customer traffic sometimes deserves it and also the convenience for the customer. - The service was good and we didn't wait more than 5 minutes for our tacos.

Yelp
This is my new go-to place for greasy, delicious barbacoa street tacos. Earthy corn tortillas with a proportionate, but generous barbacoa for $4. The prices are higher than they were pre-pandemic, but worth it. Good news: they take credit cards now.

Jack R.

Yelp
Some of the best barbacoa I've ever had. Seriously a great spot. I've been there at least a dozen times and have never been disappointed. Barbacoa torta is my go to.

Shelby S.

Yelp
New go to for sure! we got the campechano sope and a burrito w suadero, both were great, but the campechano sope did everything i wanted it to and then some.

Darian D.

Yelp
I went to Taqueria Morales on William Cannon a few weeks ago, ordered 2 shrimp tacos and 1 chicken fajita taco, they were excellent and not all that expensive, I thought the tacos were good size for the prices, the lady working there seemed nice & perky, if I didn't live way out in Pflugerville I would come here more often. I like that they're open during the evenings unlike some of the other taco places I've been to.

Tyler H.

Yelp
The customer service is terrible, the people that work there are rude af and hate their jobs. But god damn do they have the best tacos in the area lol so we keep going back Heads up, it's cash only and they'll act like you're stupid for not knowing. Worth it

Sheila A.

Yelp
I had my first visit to the truck this past Sunday and knew after one bite it would not be my last. We ordered 4 different types of tacos and everyone seemed better than the last one. The home-made corn tortillas were awesome and was the perfect pairing for the tacos we chose. Can't wait to go back.

Adly T.

Yelp
We got breakfast tacos once, they are good size tacos, and pretty cheap, but the eggs were so over cooked.

Daniel H.

Yelp
I used to be a five star fan of this joint but the past couple of visits it seems like they're using a lower grade of meat. Boo if that's the case. Yay if it's just a new cook and can be corrected. I'll try again soon, but if the meat is shitty again - I'm going to be super disappointed. GoTo: the carnitas sopes and shrimp tacos are the bomb

Matthew P.

Yelp
Waaaaaaaay better than decent burritos. And, while they're a little small, they're appropriately priced. And sooooo very good. Great burritos, tacos, and...great breakfast tacos too. Cash only. Enjoy the crispy carnitas. Seriously.

Neha S.

Yelp
My go to place for chicken sope and quesadilla after a long day of work when I don't want to cook without hurting my pocket!

Marcus K.

Yelp
Neighborhood truck, Well let me start by saying, the photos did the gringa justice. Good ole greasy taco. The first thing that comes to mind on the taco, freshness.. Salsa was on point as well, I think their verde is a little better than the red Solid place, I'll be back.

Mikey J.

Yelp
Very good stuff! Had to get a wheel repaired on my car at the shop next door and had an early morning appointment. Luckily, I didn't have time to grab a bite to eat before I left the house. This gave me a reason to stop by and get a couple tacos for breakfast. They were delicious and prepared quickly while I waited. Will definitely be back when I'm nearby in the future.

TheSingingGroomer A.

Yelp
Everything is AMAZING! They currently outside my grooming salon and my entire staff is in LOVE! beautifully made and you can taste the soul put into their cooking. 10 stars!

Lic Manuelini K.

Yelp
Homeboy was rude, after asking about the tacos they offered, dude just got rude and answered in a bad mood. sorry guys don't go to this place unless you want to piss off the guy if you ask questions.

George L.

Yelp
I was in the mood for good tacos and was very excited to try this place based on reviews. I'm not sure what people saw but the tacos I had were probably the worst that I have had in my life. The tripas were not cooked correctly, I asked for medium well and they were rare. The pastor was extremely dry and underwhelming on flavor. The discada tasted like lard and was not cooked like discada. I was very disappointed and do not recommend this place to anyone. I threw the food away and for $3 "specialty" tacos I felt robbed.

Brandon R.

Yelp
The barbacoa tacos are a fantastic value a just $2.00 a piece. If you're hungry, the $6.00 torta is a pretty good value. Although I think they use mayo instead of avacado for the spread. The al pastor was the only other thing I tried and it was pretty good. Their breakfast tacos look good as well. Only $1.75. I'll try them next

Haydee H.

Yelp
The barbacoa tacos are to die for as well as the nopal and egg tacos! Great spot for breakfast tacos

Kathy H.

Yelp
We love this place & stop here on every trip to Austin. Our favorite: Carnitas with chopped onions, cilantro, jalapeños, beans & cheese with red sauce. YUM. Great food & service, please tip well!

Cody H.

Yelp
First off upon arrival, easy to park, the prices have been raised since the last menu post. So the cash I brought wasn't enough and they don't accept any debit or credit card transactions. No one working was wearing a mask or gloves so that was a little concerning. After getting home and tasting the food it was ok, I'm from Los Angeles so I have had some food trunks and taco stands to compare to. They didn't leave my mouth watering for more, but they were decent tacos. The Barbacoa was a little dry along with the Carne. The quesadilla were a little smaller than expecting . But over all 3 stars.

Larry E.

Yelp
It is still quite good. In my humble opinion it still has very good Al Pastor tacos, but it seems the spice has dropped down a bit. What is disappointing is that it used to have excellent Menudo and Caldo, but that is no longer served. I used to love sitting at one of the two tables and getting it all over me as I slurped down the Menudo or Caldo. In hopes of bringing it back I always ask for it when I go for some tacos. These are also excellent tacos to freeze in case of emergency in the middle of the night. Kind and friendly people who work their hearts out. The little place is hard to see, but just set your GPS and when you are by a gas station, auto shop and car wash, you are in the right place!

Amanda S.

Yelp
I know that what I am about to say is an extremely bold statement .... but here it goes. This little taqueria food trailer might have the BEST street tacos I have EVER had. Ok there it is .... I said it. True statement. I have been thinking about these tacos ever since I had them last week. I want more! Anyway this trailer is very unassuming if you will. It is not fancy. It is orange and representing UT Longhorns all over it. I will forgive them for this. I ordered the pastor and suadero. The suadero was beef and the pastor is pork. Both were exceptional and full of flavor. I think the pastor was my favorite. The sauces that came with it were great too and don't forget to squeeze the lime on your taco! Oh another thing is that all the tortillas are homemade! I could tell too. It was on a flour tortilla and they were fluffy and perfect! If you are in the area or not in the area ... either way get your hiney here to try these tacos! Literally ... ok one more time ... BEST street tacos I have EVER had!

Trina W.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast tacos! Ordered 3 potato, bacon and cheese tacos, it was about 5 something. Not too bad. The green sauce was totally on point. The bacon was cooked to perfection and there was a lot of it. The taco was a good size, I was able to eat just one and my boyfriend two. Would definitely be back!

Cameron W.

Yelp
Great family business, affordable food. I've been coming here for several years. They know how to put fast food restaurants to shame. Keep up the great work. I highly recommend!

Shae O.

Yelp
My absolute favorite burrito, tacos, & al pastor. & I never feel like crap after which for me is rare after eating out. If you haven't tried Taqueria Morales, run don't walk.

Shannon P.

Yelp
Store bought can beans. Super Disappointed. I was really hoping to love this place. Also, be prepared it's cash only.

Brian T.

Yelp
Best taco truck ever. Cheap and great! My favorites are Bacon, Egg, Cheese, & Potato. Steak Gringas Pastor Best corn tortillas and like nothing I've ever had, Great flour tortillas.

Clau G.

Yelp
Worst service! I didn't even get to try the tacos, which I was really looking forward to. Called in advance to place the order and a guy answers the phone like it's his personal mobile. Place the order and he doesn't even mention that it's cash only. No total and doesn't even ask for a name for the order Upon arrival three people sunk into their phones and don't even acknowledge my presence. I greet them, they look up and straight back down to their phones. When they finally decide to attend, they tell me it's cash only and with an attitude on top of it all. Never going back again.

Allison R.

Yelp
We went in the morning to grab tacos. We didn't realize that it was CASH only so we had to go find an atm to pull out cash. When we placed an order none of the workers had a mask on or gloves on and there was no hand sanitizer. With this complete disregard to safety during a global pandemic that was bad in Austin, we took our tacos and went home. We felt really weird about no one wearing a mask and are not sure we would visit again because of that. The service was pretty rude too. The tacos themself were actually pretty good and we did enjoy the tacos. So the food is good. But the service and safety was awful.

Eric R.

Yelp
An absolute bargain. Homemade corn tortillas puts it over the top for me. Great prices, consistent quality. Nice folks, too. If you're in the area, highly recommend this place.

Joany R.

Yelp
I thought the food was going to be amazing because of the overall review score but I wasn't that impressed. The tacos de pastor weren't that great. I've had better tacos de pastor. The agua de horchata tasted really water downed. There wasn't much flavor to it either.

Jina C.

Yelp
I've been searching for a good breakfast taco joint since moving to this neighborhood 2 years ago. My husband and I have tried almost a dozen places and all fell short of our favorite place, El Primo on S. 1st. Today, we went to Morales and finally found our local joint. We ordered: (all w cheese) Potato & egg: I give this 7 out of 10. I still prefer the potato egg cheese taco from Oro de Borrego sold by Summermoon. Chorizo & egg: 8 out of 10. Very solid. Just a bit too salty for my taste. Bacon & egg. 9/10 so good!!! Bean & egg. 8/10 very solid taco. Price and size, you can't beat this! Two tacos is very filling. I think 1 is plenty as well if you're not that hungry.

Veronica R.

Yelp
Tacos were delicious! We had al pastor, bisteca and suadero. Get the special, 6 mini tacos for $10. They are cash only. We'll be back.

Jonathan S.

Yelp
Drove 15 minutes for breakfast tacos and I'm not a morning person!! If you are in a 15 minute vicinity, do yourself a favor, make your morning better and stop here for some bad ass tacos! My favorite is the beef Gringas!!!! They are mouthgasmic! Full of melted, browned cheese and beef wrapped in a flour tortilla and served with some delicious green mystery sauce. The menu is pretty basic, that's how I like it when it's hard to make up my mind. The Bistek is nothing to go crazy for, honestly a little chewy. I like that my tacos aren't dripping with grease when I bite into them. That speaks quality to me. Those Gringas though!!! I salivate over them day after day until I can't stand it, and the I make my journey over here for my fix when I stay in South Austin. Thank you tacos for keeping me thick!! :D

Errol M.

Yelp
I have determined my life's mission, and it's to have breakfast tacos everywhere on Planet Earth. I was shooting for world peace, but it's been too difficult coordinating everyone's schedule. Huevos en tortillas is more manageable. So until the visas get back I'm pretty much stuck in Austin, but there sure are lots of taco choices to choose from. Taqueria Morales is a trailer on William Cannon, it's smaller than some middle kid's closet, and if you blink you'll zip right past it. Go ahead and hang the U. Because the chicken fajita here is superb, the bacon & egg substantial if a tad salty, and the verde sauce will gangnam style your ass. I hear they make their own tortillas too, but I wasn't able to distinguish that with the flour on this visit. It may be obvious with the corn. But what I can distinguish is $3.75 for two tacos, a family working long hours seven days a week, and a pretty broad menu for a tiny trailer. I know I should be broadening my horizons by trying those Sincronizadas, Tripas, & Al Pastors, but it's all about this new mission - once you commit, you must stay fit.

Boo T.

Yelp
Dangit. That gas station next door is the worst and then I order cheese on my taco. I pay for cheese on my taco: no cheese on my taco also I didn't even feed it to my dog it wasn't good. I'll never be back (not trying to be dramatic but it's just another block I won't stop at cuz I never did anyway

James H.

Yelp
Where do you go if you're in South Austin on a Sunday morning in need of a taco fix? I know my answer will be Taqueria Morales after today's visit. This place has gotten a lot of Yelp love and for good reason. Delicious and authentic street tacos, and cheap, makes for a winning combination every time. The real difference maker for me were the handmade tortillas. So soft and fresh, a key component to their tacos' high marks. I also thought their taco fillings were pretty perfect. My order included the Suadero and the Tripas tacos. Both were excellent and featured tender and well marinated cuts of meat. They were so good in fact that I couldn't leave without ordering a third taco, the Al Pastor, before heading home. Glad I did cause the reddish-orange pork was as good as gets.

Alice C.

Yelp
Great family-owned joint!! Authentic, good prices and always delicious. Never once has it disappointed. It's our go-to place for tacos of all kinds. You can't go wrong with any of the menu items. Don't forget to bring cash because it is Cash Only!

Alysha M.

Yelp
Pretty delicious breakfast tacos. Their Barbacoa is super super good. My only complaint was the thin tortillas, I like my flour tortillas to be a little thicker...

Cindy A.

Yelp
***CASH ONLY***As far as tacos are concerned, I liked that they were homemade tortillas. I ordered 1 taco, de tripas and the other was a gringas de pastor. The gringas was really good, I had never had one before, though it felt just like a quesadilla, but cheaper.

Aly V.

Yelp
I come here for lunch sometimes and has not disappointed me! Their $2 dollar tacos are well made and delicious! I have tried their sincronizadas and burritos they were awesome too. I'd rather giving them my business than going to a dine-in Mexican restaurant in the area; they're quick, nice, serve good quality food and at a low price. Cash only btw.

Isaac L.

Yelp
My wife and I moved to the south Austin area in 2016 and have been breakfast taco hunting ever since. My standard of the "best" breakfast tacos are from El Primo on south 1st and was severely disappointed with the offerings around my new home. Just got back from Taq. Morales and I knew I needed to write a review right away. The search is over! I can't speak for their other food items yet but if they can do this with breakfast tacos, I'm sure I'm going to enjoy their entire menu. The tacos were delicious, had generous portions, and they were priced lower than most of their competitors. Can't beat that combo!

Emma R.

Yelp
Holy crap this place is AMAZING. Tiny tiny taco "truck" in front of a car wash. We got 2 steak tacos, 1 beef fajita taco, 1 al pastor sope, and 2 large Mexican cokes for $13. We literally just finished eating lunch from there and are now talking about going back tonight. They are open to 10pm during the week and 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Adorable kid working the window when we were there (he recommended the al pastor and oh my gosh I'm glad I took his advice). Looking forward to trying the breakfast tacos. Oh and the handmade corn tortillas, are you kidding me? Freaking amazing. I've never had corn tortillas like that. The consistency and strength of a flour tortilla but with delicious corn tortilla flavor. It's the kind of place you'd rather keep all to yourself :-)
