"Taqueria Sope Express is one of the only places in Nashville that serves its namesake sopes, along with a large menu of every kind of meat, corn tortilla, and bean combo. We personally love to mix and match: sopes, burritos, and tacos make up the ideal food pyramid here. But once you’re in, fill up on Taqueria Sope Express’ mouthwatering tacos on house-made corn tortillas and plates of shrimp and fish alongside nachos, pollo asada, tostadas de camarones (shrimp), fajitas, and quesabirria. We decided to charge our car at an EVgo station since we get free charging for two years. With no stations close by, we make an effort to try new restaurants whenever we charge. Today, we visited **Taqueria Sope Express**. It's a tiny spot, with just a small two-top table and a counter along the walls with stools--definitely more of a takeout place. I originally wanted three tacos (asada, carnitas, and barbacoa), but due to a bit of a language barrier, I ended up with four tacos--two asadas and two barbacoa--when I really only wanted one of each. It was a bit confusing. My husband ordered a burrito, which he thought was good but nothing extraordinary. If you're dining in and want water, note that they only offer bottled water, so you'll need to pay for it or pick another beverage. Overall, I don't think I'd come back--it's more suited for takeout, and the food didn't stand out enough for a return trip.
