The Best Affordable Restaurants In Seattle | Eater Seattle

"Everything at this popular Rainier Valley taco truck is delicious and reasonably priced. But if you want the best bang for your buck, the nice big burrito is $9.25, generous on the meat, and one of very few burritos in town under $15. They also do a truly massive torta on a beautiful buttery telera roll, also for $9.25, that’s easily two meals — and it includes smashed avocado, and the full trio of housemade salsas. Or snag a quartet of tacos for a measly six bucks." - Meg van Huygen

7 Great Tortas In Seattle - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Another taco truck on Rainier, Taqueria Sotelo offers one the best deals in town: four tacos for $6. This isn’t the taco guide, though, and their tortas are good enough to make you completely forget about that deal. The best thing about this sandwich, besides the tender carnitas and all the smashed avocado, is the fact that all three salsas included (a mild green, spicy red, and even spicier habanero) are so good that they’ll make you wish you could buy the stuff by the bucket." - carlo mantuano

Google
Just a solid taco truck. Direct. Nothing too fancy. Filling and good food. Lots of blue collar workers went when we were there so tells you it’s for the people. My dad didn’t even wait a second he just swallowed his whole burrito.

Google
Hard to beat 5 tacos el pastor and a can of coke for $7.50. They are busy at lunch time but still pretty quick. Taco stand close to my house - it’s a good thing.

Friendly service and good menu. Got some steak tacos and were good, salsa was ok. Not the best tacos I’ve had in the area but not bad either. There is free parking available and two tables in case you want to eat there.

Google
Nice place for affordable Mexican food in the immediate area. I ordered the chicken tacos, an al pastor plate, chorizo burrito, and carnitas torta. Everything tasted good. What stood out to me was the puffiness of the tortilla around the chorizo taco which reminded me of roti. The carnitas torta was also delicious with a good mix of rich carnitas and avocado, with the onions, tomatoes, and toasted telera roll. Would definitely recommend.

Google
First time in Seattle and this was the 1st thing I tried since it was near me! The area is a little odd but the food was quite delicious! I miss street tacos back home so this was like a kiss from the past

Google
Absolutely wonderful authentic Mexican food at a fabulous price. It's also right next to the GREEN Door pot Shop a very convenient set up. It's my daily routine. You've got to try it out!

Google
I've been passing by for over a 2 years.. Finally I said... wtf. I'm gonna check it out..on business. I had a bit of a break. Said wth Got the Quesadilla. All encased. The trimmings put into the mix... A mild rainy evening. The server was SO KIND. the cook was SO WELCOMING.. THE fact that the "simple " side tables are exactly that. Is the basics of a food truck. Quiet..simple Great food.. I'm in awe that I didn't dine sooner. If YOU have a few minutes. And a equal amount of dollars over a HUGE ass corporate crap place. Invest into your local food truck HERE SERIOUSLY.. GIVE THEM SOME LOVE

Yelp
Don't get me wrong -- the horchata and tacos were great. Except for the fact that I ordered the 5 Tacos Plate and was charged for it, only to get THREE tacos. My fault for not checking my order before leaving the truck but I trusted them enough to give me what I paid for. I was happy with the flavor and quality. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and think that it was just a mistake but since I was charged for the 5 tacos, it's a bit difficult to think that way. I hope this review doesn't deter you to try this place. The food was flavorful and my husband enjoyed it as well.

Yelp
Decided to swing by for food before taking dance class. I got the chicken quesadilla, and it was a surprisingly large portion for the price. Service was good and relatively quick, and I ate on the benches in the tented area. Although it was a large portion, the taste and texture was pretty mediocre, and the chicken looked very finely shredded up, which made the texture a little bit off and the source a bit questionable. I might amend my review later after trying the the cabeza tacos which I've had my eye on, but as of now, pretty average and I would recommend as somewhere you would go if you wanted to fill yourself up at a relatively lower price point. edit: came back to try the Cabeza tacos which is my favorite taco meat. It was tender and fatty as expected, but was missing some seasoning. However, the taco portions are pretty big for 3$ each. bumping my rating a star up for the value.

Yelp
Hits the taqueria fix! Food- I would come back when convenient. Carne Asada plate- $12, comes with4 thin slices of beef, seasoned with salt and peppered and grilled nicely. Grilled jalepeno. Salad is tiny, small amount of guacamole, 4 limes and average amount of rice and beans. Filling! Wet burrito- $8.50 with al pastor (spicy beef at this truck) mild kick, though can be inconsistent. Huge in size, filling! Sauce taste like home made tomato base sauce. Side chilli salasa- 3 types. Deep red one is spicy! Value- good value. Location- see my pictures. Has parking available. Has a small covered picnic area if you want to eat onsite.

Yelp
Asada were ok. Didn't seem like it had enough grilling and not enough sauce. I ordered 5 tacos that comes with free soda with a total of 13.50. I supposed it's 4.5 star but it seems dissatisfying for me and maybe because I had better and cost a little more cheaper too. I usually go to the one near Lincoln park gas station in west Seattle where there is a taco truck there. Their tacos and spicy sauce, you would not be disappointed. Sorry I didn't like the food here much but the service was great and friendly.

Yelp
Yummy & good pricing ‍ If you get anything from the green door dispensary on Fridays you get 2 free tacos

Yelp
I absolutely love tacos. They loaded up their tacos here and there was no way I was leaving hungry. It was delicious and they really hit the spot. The tortillas were not greasy compared to other places, the meat was nicely seasoned, and they added a good amount of onions and cilantro. They also didn't skip out on a lime per taco! What a gem of a taco truck.

Yelp
Wow I chanced upon this place on a Saturday evening because I was going to the Vietnamese restaurant next door where this truck was parked. They did not have my favorite dish, enchiladas on the menu so I opted for a carnitas wet burrito. Wow the carnitas are on point! The gentleman was nice and gave me extra green salsa when I asked for it. I will be back for some actual tacos next time. I'm glad to have found a good taco truck!

Yelp
Food poisoning alert! My husband and I were very ill after eating here. If you go on the Google reviews, there are several others who were also sick from eating at this truck around the same time. Yes, the prices are super low for Seattle but two days of the stomach flu is just not worth it. For lunch, I had the carne asada plate (2 thin slices of meat) which tasted fine and my husband had the mole burrito. 8 hours later we both had our dates with destiny (the toilet). That's a no for me, dawg.

Yelp
Wonderful Mexican food, one of the world's great cuisines. I like the quality of the food here and the price and the amount. Well worth it, even if I have a few observations. The tamales are simply great, as well as the Tortas. The quesadillas are generous. My observations: sometimes the beans are too salty. The Spanish rice, most of the time really good, can be underdone. The food sometimes is not hot enough, nor are the drinks cold enough. The menu on the side of the truck is faded badly, adding to the atmosphere, but there are things there I can't read anymore. No matter what, go there. Eat there. It's really good.

Yelp
This isn't my favorite taco truck in Seattle but they did okay. In my opinion, the food was just bland in comparison to other places I have been to. The meat lacked flavor. I had the four tacos de carne asada, like I said nothing special. If I wasn't stoned, I probably would have finished the tacos. My friend got the wet burrito, which also she described as bland. The salsa verde didn't do anything special for us either. The only thing that I really liked was the horchata. Overall I probably wouldn't come back here. But I don't discourage anyone from trying it, maybe their other dishes are better!

Yelp
This place deserves more reviews! We got the wet burrito, tacos al pastor, tacos asada, and an al pastor quesadilla. They served all of it up in less than 5 minutes and the food is amazing! If you live in the Atlantic Neighborhood, drop by and have some great food.

Yelp
I love this taco truck and am a regular customer. I haven't had anything I didn't like. Great tacos for a good price. I especially love their Al Pastor. They also have 3 different types of salsa and all are delicious!

Yelp
Very good food. Quick and straight to the point. Exactly what I expect from a taco truck.

Yelp
I'm a regular here, always delicious! authentic family business Mexican food with good prices. Definitely one of the best taco trucks in Seattle

Yelp
I almost don't want to leave this review because this truck is kind of a secret in Seattle, it's the only place I've been able to find $1.50 street tacos that rival the ones you'd find in Los Angeles. The meat is great, they're super fast and there isn't really anything to complain about, can usually get enough food for 2 people all in for $20.

Yelp
a pretty decent option for the area, def not as good as michocoan(sp?) and way better than the other truck(el ranchero) on king st. the meat is a bit on the salty side so i've been getting the breakfast burrito con carne so everything else balances out the salt

Yelp
The food here is quick, cheap, and easy. There is a private parking lot where the truck is stationed at so it's easy to pop by and order food. I always get the taco combo and it's four tacos for about $6. For Seattle, you can't beat that price! The taste of the tacos is great too. I really like the hot sauces that they provide as well.

Yelp
Happened to come across this truck after going to Sovereign Brewing across the street. Delicious!
