Came for a Saturday 1pm birthday brunch on St. Patrick's weekend. Reservations for 6 were easy to make on Resy and they text you the morning of to confirm.
Tara Rose is located on 3rd Avenue, the location is easy to find as they have their sign in large letter right in the front. There are parking garages close by, meter parking all along 3rd Avenue, and if you're lucky you may find residential parking on the inner blocks. We did meter parking right at the corner and paid $13.75 for 2 hours.
It was pretty busy when we arrived, right at 1 pm. The inside is beautifully decorated with flowers and a rustic feel; they had all kinds of Irish accents for St. Patty's day and most of the patrons were there celebrating after the parade. They seated us in the back. Restrooms are downstairs, and there are additional eating sections downstairs too. They have two bar areas and a TV in the back as well.
They have two small air conditioning units in the back, and we were seated right in front of one of them. It was getting pretty cold, so we asked for it to be lowered or turned off. They turned the unit off, but towards the end of our meal, it was turned on, and we put our coats on because of the discomfort of sitting directly in the conditioners air path.
The menu has a decent variety of options from brunch, to bites, to salads, sides, and sandwiches. They offer bottomless brunch for an additional $25 for 90 minutes but we chose to get single drinks since the bottomless options were not that attractive, basically mimosas. The food options range from $12 to $30 depending what you order.
For drinks, we went with espresso martinis, a margarita, a mojito, and the pornstar which came with a shot of prosecco. All drinks except for the mojito came in rather small cups and seemed a bit too small given the $16 price for each drink. But they were tasty.
For eats, we went with the French toast and bacon, fish tacos, Asian chicken wrap with greek fries, and quinoa salad with "big a$$ shrimp." Overall, the food was tasty.
We ordered a sundae which they brought with a sparkler to celebrate a birthday. The sundae was tasty too, had fresh sliced strawberries and brownie chunks mixed with the vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce.
The bill came to just under $250 with 20% tip included. I would visit again to try some of their other options.
