Tarallucci e Vino Upper West Side

The pasta here is always delicious. Simple sauce perfectly done. Very authentic. The folks at the upper West side restaurant are mostly Italian. I love the breakfast pastries, and the weekend. Brunch includes fabulous yogurt, and fruit. I’ve had many meals here and enjoyed every dish.

A great surprise, it's one of those places where it's so pleasant that time seems to stand still. Perfect coffee, cappuccino and avocado toast. Friendly service, cozy and lovely.

Had a great dinner here tonight. Was able to get a nice table outside and do some great UWS people watching while enjoying a good bottle of Cab. Service was excellent from the hostess, the nice woman behind the bar, and Dillan our server, all making the evening so enjoyable. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly. Great night, Great atmosphere, great food.

Thanks to the reviews here and on Yelp, we opted out of dining in and ordered to go. Even so, the person taking our order had us waiting a bit to order, while they chit chatted with their colleague. The pasta we got was just ok. Carbonara was actually pretty flavorful; but the gnocchi was bland. With all the sauce that was given, it certainly LOOKS like a flavorful dish; but I could barely taste the pesto. I even saved some to take home and season, thinking it may have just been under-seasoned; but it wasn't much better. The texture of the gnocchi itself was decent, which is a positive note. Lastly, take a look at the photo. Does this look like an acceptable amount of pasta for $25 to you? It's not the worst place; but there are much better establishments for dining in the area.

Came around for dinner and sat outside since it was nice and cool. Service from Alexsei and Dillan was excellent - they were always attentive. Had a relaxing dinner. The Funghi Flatbread was light and delicious. And the RUM Cake. Yum. Not super sweet but delectable.

The pasta was decent but nothing special. Warm and welcoming service throughout the meal.

I wish I had taken photos of the meal, but I'm always in the moment that I don't capture it. Came here to have a low- key birthday dinner with friends. I was not disappointed! Had the rigatoni. That short ribbon was fall off the bone delicious. I could eat a whole pot of that !! But the portion was enough to get me full. Our waiter selected the perfect wine that suited my palate. The service was prompt but not overbearing. I didn't feel rushed to clear out. I don't know if it's because it was a thursday night. The place only had a few empty seats, mostly at the bar during our dinner service. I am looking forward to returning to try more.

Had such a delicious lunch here this afternoon after visiting the Museum of Natural History! The pastas were excellent, fresh and flavorful - we had the spaghetti, carbonara, and Mafalde with mushrooms. They also served us bread with olive oil.

Wow, did not expect to like this neighborhood place - especially for breakfast. Their side of homefries is seriously good - very flavorful, crispy on the outside and meltingly soft on the inside. The side is expensive but it easily feeds two as a side dish. The pastries are great - but be aware that they are Italian. So the peach danish was delish - but bore only a passing ressemblance to a deli danish. It was lighter, crispy and less greasy. Ditto for the cinnamon roll - I thought it was a bit too refined, my friend loved it. We fought over the corneto. If you get the 3 pastry selection, go to the bar and look at all the offerings. There were some specials that we could have selected. The French toast was very good, the fruit was fresh - more than just a garnish. Once again, this is a splittable dish. The bacon was thick but crispy - perfect for me. And the coffe was AMAZING! Seriously - I got iced coffee and it was a treat as opposed to an afterthought. Dinner was equally pleasant. The charred octopus app is dinner sized. The octopus was quite large and meaty - but also very tender. I love octopus and this was a great version. My friend got the pinsa with proscuitto. She liked it, I thought it looked a bit bready, but I am biased towards NYC thin slices. I had the broccoli, sausage pasta and it was light but filling - great for a hot summer's evening. One drawback - Happy Hour is ONLY at the bar. C'mon guys! Still, I am looking forward to trying more dishes here, what a chill neighborhood place.

Had a very nice dinner here with some great people watching. Got a nice table outside and started with a good bottle of Cab. Took in the beautiful weather, relaxed and enjoyed the cool vibe and our dinner. Polipo- large enough to share. Charred Octopus served on top of fennel , roasted potatoes, and arugula with lemon and olives. Grilled Branzino- a nice piece of Mediterranean Sea Bass, mild and sweet and cooked with capers, cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives. A side of oven roasted fennel with a parmesan gratin was served alongside the fish. Service was excellent from the hostess, the nice woman behind the bar, and Dillan our server, all making the evening so enjoyable. Great night, Great atmosphere, great food.

The pasta is expensive and delicious, but I had to come home and eat a second dinner. I don't even eat that much food at once!!! I've also ordered biscotti here several times. They are always stale.

My husband and I were walking by on a weekday evening and decided to stop for a light dinner outdoors. The ambiance and service were standard, and the food was good overall. My husband fell in love with the spaghetti featuring Nonna Michelina's sauce. The fresh pasta was perfectly cooked, and the tiny meatballs were adorable and generously covered in sauce. Though I'm usually not a fan of meatballs, I found myself enjoying the cute bites. The branzino, on the other hand, was nothing exceptional. We paid through the InKinda app and received $25 off our bill. It's a cute spot in the neighborhood.

Came for a pre-concert meal with a friend. Ordered the special of the day: pappardelle with mushrooms and truffle. Initially received the pappardelle in a red sauce and was confused LOL. Apparently they had brought me the wrong dish and then made me the correct meal. Not gonna lie, just based on the one noodle I had of the first dish, it was a lot more flavorful than my actual intended dish. The special kind of felt flat and like it was relying on being ~truffle~ to shine, but I do enjoy mushrooms so it's fine. The bread was also good! Caesar salad was enjoyable, but nothing crazy.

The food is expensive. It's nice but damn, $9 for four skinny rashers of bacon. That just seems wrong.

Maybe it was the fact that it was a million degrees outside with high humidity or maybe it was the beer, but we loved stopping at this little wine bar after a long afternoon in the city we got two pasta dishes, beers, and dessert. Everything was delicious and perfectly portioned. There were no tables available at the time but sitting at the bar was so enjoyable. Will definitely recommend this place for a quick bite to eat that's also delicious.

Dropped by for an early brunch. Cafe itself was small but had larger outdoor seating area. There was no shade so it was a bit bright but nice on the particular day we went. Menu had good options. Aperol spritzes were great! I had the malfadine cacio e Pepe, which had good taste, but portions weren't huge. Service was a bit slow the entire time we were there. Prices were as expected for NYC (aka not cheap, but overall not horrible). Was a good place if venturing out early and looking for brunch before the crowds.

I found a haven of warmth in the mist of cold snowy day. Rita behind the counter welcomed me in with her warm smile and made the best cappuccino. She recommended one of the in house made pastries. I chose the almond croissant, she even offered to warm the croissant. Delicious! Very friendly, wish I had more time to hangout with her. Chatty, smiling, witty, Italian. Gnocchi con Pesto: extremely fresh- pasta tasted like it was made 10 minutes ago, pesto was delicious but slightly under seasoned Bruschetta con Funghi: delicious! pretty small though, only 1 piece per order Olives: great pre-dinner snack but they were surprisingly spicy! order them mild if you don't like spice Notes: lovely place to go if you want great food but don't want to eat in a place that's too stuffy/formal! pasta sizes are insanely small and prices are a little high, don't go if you're too hungry but the food itself was amazing and tasted really high quality

Best Italian I've ever had! Every single thing I tried was great. The server was friendly and fast. The restaurant is inviting and chill. Would recommend anyone go try it out.

This was our last meal in New York, and while the service was really wonderful the food was bland in comparison to all the amazing food you can get in the city. The burratta pizza was good, but nothing special. The mussels were pretty bland but presentation on both dishes were also beautiful!

Awful food & overpriced!! $12 on 2 cups of coffee before tip!! Never again, & their barista is the worst! Zero customer service!! Plain rude and has a no care attitude is the service you get. Plenty of other nicer restaurants in the neighborhood.

i jus had dinner there and it was fantastic. we were greeted by ari (hostess) and we were served by max. she could not of been more pleasant and courteous when greeting and seating us. and he could not of been pleasant in serving us. he recommended the "1/2 chicken" and it was jus sooooooooo good. . the whole meal was great and ari and max added to a very nice dinner experience. tarallucci, you are fortunate to have them both on your side.

Delicious food, service is excellent. Wine bar makes me feel like I'm in Italy. Their espresso is also the best I've had outside of Italy. Will come back again.

Excellent cheese selection, great meats ! Had the mortadella and Italian Salami, crostinis and olives ! Great service, very kind, I had to change my reservation twice and they were very accommodating and just really nice people. Will definitely go back and highly recommend.

Yooo Clerksrat back with another tasty-... well actually I wanted to review but bad times came upon us. So Mrs. Clerksrat and I decided to go outside the old school Italian flavor we normally do and go to this (what I thought was a wine bar) more modern Italian place by us. Now I scoped the menu out early on and it is very limited and not the most economical, but it's NYC you pay for good stuff! We made a reservation for 9:30PM on a Friday night choosing to grab a late dinner. As uncool as it may be, being fashionably late for resys is a no go so we showed up early since it's close by. Place was cool and reservations are not needed as legit 1 table inside had people and maybe 3-4 tables outside. With the weather being kind of meh I made the executive decision to go inside. I have methods despite the Mrs saying outside was better; if you're inside with staff, and the only one then you can't have bad service! ** Tarallucci E Vino has entered the chat** While being instantly seated close to the kitchen, and given menus for drinks and food I was feeling this was going to be a good reason to not being playing Zelda. So we went right to the wine menu and got that on lock; then started perusing the food menu to get the two-for-one menu order to make life easy for server. These are the kind of things that make you parched, luckily my water glass was ready to... oh. So I guess someone forgot to fill the water, no biggy something like that can be done on the order, right? So we waited... and waited. Ah group of tipsy middle aged ladies came in, just loud enough and friendly enough with staff to get some boots to the ground on our order, or water. Nope. Well at this point my mouth is drier than Roman Roys sex life; ten minutes and still no water, wine, food, not even a "do you need more time" Normally I'd ride this out but the minute I saw the drunken ladies get water and wine I tapped. It's funny coming on here and reading reviews it seems to be the thing here. They have awful service but good wine. Listen there are a lot of Italian places around the area so unless you have this restaurant kink where you like to be ignored by the staff, skip this spot. The pastries are very different from what I'm used to, but delicious. They often have daily ones that aren't on the menu, so be sure to ask your waiter

I live very close to Tarallucci and dined here many times over the years, and also have done takeout and delivery from this restaurant too many times to count. No exaggeration that I've never ever had a bad meal here. The food at Tarallucci is delicious and fresh. The wait staff is very friendly and the wine selection is excellent. You also will love the desserts. In addition, a lot of people may not realize that Tarallucci also serves great breakfast dishes in the morning. I highly recommend the fresh greek yogurt with fruit.

Proper Roman Italian restaurant. The Food is wholesome but also has a touch of class to it. The ambiance is both relaxing and bubbly. Dates, friends recalling each others week, it has something for everyone. The service is great, they are interested in you and are eager to answer your questions. Good selection of Italian wine awaits your pallet.

Tarallucci is the real deal. I've been looking for somewhere with the easy-going ambiance and amazing food I used to find in cafes in Rome for years... and finally I found it! It's just a couple blocks from the Natural History Museum and Central Park, but it feels like a real neighborhood place. The staff clearly love their regulars--Rita and Oscar (Oskar?) knew my name the third time I went. Ever the morning for the past month, I go for my perfect cappuccino and almond croissant. (I also tried the gluten free blueberry muffin once, best gf pastry I've ever had). I also like to bring friends for drinks here after work, and we usually end up staying for dinner. The food is obviously amazing--the flavors are simple and well balanced, and you leave feeling satisfied but not stuffed. Real, delicious Italian cooking that that has perfected the simple pleasures of eating: the creamiest burrata, perfectly salted tomatoes, fragrant fresh pasta. The way a cafe is meant to be!

This was my second stop for restaurant week, and I was pleasantly surprised by the value and the taste of the dishes I ordered. The restaurant itself was located on the corner of 83rd street, and it gave off the appearance of a cute little Italian place, which was exactly what it was. The interior was quaint, with a center large area for the bar table, and dining tables near the window. The great thing about this place was that they offered an additional third dessert for lunch at a price of $32, which I thought was great value. We ordered the Bruschetta Dal Mercato and Polpettine as appetizers, Bucatini Cacio e Pepe and Salmone for the mains, and got a Torta di Formaggio for dessert (maple cheesecake). I particularly enjoyed the Cacio e Pepe, although I have no idea whether it's supposed to be authentic or not. It was the right amount of chewy and pepper, which was exactly what I was looking for. Honestly, there's not much I can say other than it was an incredibly enjoyable meal on a Friday.

Was torn on this one because the reviews look iffy but a patron persuaded us to come in while we were looking at the menu. She raved that the food is excellent and the pasta is fresh. She put the place on par with another restaurant we love, so we decided to give it a try. Burrata - 4.5/5 - The tomatoes really stole the show on this one. Incredibly fresh and outstanding quality. Simply roasted, they burst of flavors you would've pictured yourself abroad. I think if the burrata was a little creamier, this would be a standout dish. Strozzapreti Cacio e Pepe - 5.5/5 - The pasta itself was AMAZING! The patron was so spot on.. If this is what fresh pasta tastes like, how can I ever go back?! Sauce tastes perfect, and I loved how this cacio e pepe sauce wasn't too thick like most places. Torta alla Mousse di Cioccolato - 5/5 - There's never a flourless chocolate cake I don't like. Finished this way too quickly! Ambiance was nice, staff was a little standoffish. Otherwise, looking forward to coming back to try other dishes!

Small but delicious restaurant. The bar area is almost the entire restaurant so we opted to sit there due to tables being full and crowded. The wine selection is great and not too overpriced for the quality you receive. Our bartender was very attentive and knowledgeable about the wines and food menu. We ordered a bottle of the Chianti Classico, then received free bread with olive oil. We also ordered baked eggplant and burrata pizza as an appetizer, followed by pesto gnocchi and mushroom risotto for our entrees. All of it was delicious and high quality, although the pizza was surprisingly the best dish. For dessert we ordered the ricotta cheesecake and cookies, paired with dessert wine. It was all superb.

Honestly, a horrible experience. My friends and I stopped by for lunch and ordered a couple different food items but no wine. Initially, we were happy with the outdoor tables and the ambience, but those were the highlights. The food was tasted okay, but was definitely not worth the price in volume or taste. Even then, we might have just considered it an "okay" restaurant except for a later experience. Near the end of our meal, we asked for water refills since we had not received any while eating and had finished our glasses. The waitress mocked us after the request and was very reluctant to refill the glasses. We are still unsure of what prompted the response. Is there something wrong with asking for more water in NYC?

I'm in shock at the tiny portion I just got. Gobsmacked. I think if you charge a service fee, and delivery fee, you should at least throw a few more pieces of pasta in and maybe some bread for good measure. It's feels crappy to be ripped off. That said pasta was tasty. But I'm out. Won't be ordering again.

I have lived down the street for years. It is one of several local tourist traps. Last time I was here the service was borderline rude, across the line on a Saturday afternoon. They always pressure you to order food. Isn't this place a wine bar? Not adding to my experience, but they are trying to run a business, ok. Fine. But when they aren't doing that, you need a bright orange flag to wave down a member of their wait staff. The tables wobble quite a bit. You may wonder if they are even awake by the time you pay your tab, or have fallen asleep somewhere in the kitchen.

I had the chance to try this popular restaurants location in the Upper West Side on a breezy Thursday morning. I've been to their spot in NoMad for dinner, so I was curious to see what they'd be cooking up on their breakfast menu. Needless to say, it was just as good as my dinner experience! It definitely should be an option for anyone looking for a quaint & relaxing breakfast experience in the neighborhood. We arrived to the restaurant around 10 AM on a Thursday morning. We hadn't made a reservation, but it didn't seem like we needed to. There were a lot of table options both inside and outside at this time and they allowed us to pick where we wanted to sit. The space itself is really great! They have tables outside in a sectioned off area on their front sidewalk, as well as indoor seating. On this particularly nice day they had opened the windows which allowed a cool breeze to flow throughout the space. So nice! When it came time to order I went with the Ouva Al Tartufo ($15). Think of is as a well dressed breakfast sandwich with the addition of Truffle Aioli. So freaking good. I came in hungry and this definitely hit the spot. It also comes with a side of home fries, which honestly are just potato bits... The service here was great! The staff was attentive and gave us ample time to look over the menu. They were quick to fill our water glasses and happy to answer any questions we had about the menu. This restaurant is a great option for a low key breakfast in the UWS. Quick and good service, along with a variety of traditional options will undoubtedly leave you satisfied after dining here.

Gosh, where to start?!?! This establishment is low-key, yet warm, welcoming and elegant!!! I was in NYC for a work conference and my husband and I were exploring the nieghborhood when we found Tarallucci E Vino. As a birthday treat, my husband suggested that we eat here. The atmosphere is quiet with sensual yet relaxing music in the background. There is a U-shaped bar in the middle with small sit down tables surrounding it. The staff was subdued yet warm and friendly. The dim lights created a romantic feel for our dinner. I am currently pregnant so kept to water for my drink, but my husband ordered the Pink Pepper Italian Beer. He really enjoyed the flavor!! the wine list is extensive, which is really nice! To start we ordered the meatballs. They were perfectly cooked and served with plenty of marinara sauce. Perfect for dips your bread in. The order came with approximately four meatballs. We split an order of the lasagna, which was the perfect size for us to share. If you are hungry, this better suited for one person. Overall, we had a wonderful time and I would high suggest stopping by!

Good food, let down by extremely non existent service. The hostess was grumpy and treated us with contempt, and we constantly had to wave to staff to get attention. Such bad service like theyre doing you a favour. So many other options in the area, so you can give thai place a skip.

Tucked away in the city in Union Square this place is a gem. Staff are courteous and the food is excellent. Entertained business acquaintances here and this spot was amazing.

I can't believe that I missed this gem for the past year even though I live quite close by! It has a beautiful layout. U shaped bar surrounded by sit down tables. For happy hour 5-7 pm, you can order oysters for $1.50 each and spritzers and wines for $9 and below. We ordered 2 dozen oysters and they were deliciously fresh! Went really well with the white house wine. For main, my dad ordered the risotto and I ordered the spaghetti. I love ordering spaghetti at Italian restaurants as I find it the purest Italian dish to judge how well the food is prepared. It was scrumptious; had that bouncy quality that only homemade spaghetti can have. The risotto was rich and delicious too- came with butternut squash and sausage mixed within the creamy sauce. For dessert, we split the tiramisu (as we always do when eating Italian.) So gooood! I will be back for sure

This restaurant/wine bar is very low-key yet elegant and impeccably clean. The music selection is often sensual and relaxing. I always come here to meditate over a bowl of fresh pasta after my monthly facial at Savor Spa, which is right across the street. I dated an Italian (Torinese) for three years, and trust me, this is as authentic as it gets in Manhattan! I am not sure if they make the spaghetti from scratch, but every time I finish my bowl I want to cry (and am one glass of wine away from ordering another bowl). The only thing that keeps me disciplined is knowing that I will be back again in four weeks. Enjoy my spaghetti shoot below.

Tarallucci is a regular spot for my wife and I. Mainly because of the staff. We often stop by and grab a glass of wine for happy hour. Ernesto and Nikolai are amazing - making every time we go fun and full of laughs. As far as food, everything is pretty tasty. I recently tried the mushroom and gorgonzola flatbread and that was really tasty. Great neighborhood spot to stop by for a glass of wine or a beer.

I had a great experience here! The outdoor seating area was really nice with a great view and heaters. All of the food was 10/10 except for the calamari. I didn't like it, so they took it back with no problem. Great service and ambience, I will be going again!

Super cute place one on the UWS. Fresh frothy coffee in the morning is a must. They did run out of all pastries when we got here at 10.30am on a Saturday. Disappointing but we'll be back to try them!

Vegans, don't bother. Of course it's normal for a restaurant to not have any vegan options on the menu as-is, but the waiter was so incredibly rude and condescending about it. I asked if they could make anything vegan and he just straight up told me "no." I asked him to ask the chef if any of the pastas or the gluten free pasta option on the menu did NOT have egg in it and he just said "haha most pasta has egg in it." I clarified that I would like for him to ask the question to the chef, given his "most pasta" response indicated that he had no idea what he was talking about. He "asked the chef," came back and said "unfortunately most of the pasta has egg." What? Most? Is there one that doesn't and you're not telling me? He clearly either never asked the chef or the chef is as clueless and green as this guy. And he was saying all of this in a rude, mocking way. So I ended up (without asking if the items could be made vegan since that clearly wouldn't get me anywhere here) getting the insalata, and roasted potatoes and broccoli rabe sides "with no cheese or butter." The potatoes were dry and flavorless. Broccoli rabe was watery. Insalata was difficult to eat and lacked seasoning. All of this I could tolerate but the rude, condescending, idiotic service is unacceptable and doesn't belong in New York. Tons of other italian restaurants in the neighborhood with better food and service. Don't give your money to these entitled fools.

I was so underwhelmed by this trattoria. We walked by and it looked pleasant and vibe was good. Service was a little slow but I didn't mind it. What was not great was the food. Dining out now after being home and cooking lots you expect the restaurant businesses to make sure to serve amazing food but alas the salmon had no flavor and the Bolognese was a little sour and pasta was not fresh (for $28) a plate I'm sorry but don't charge that much if the quality of the food can't match the price tag. The only thing that was good was the wine, i would just drink at this spot, don't bother with the food. Really disappointed and unfortunately will not ever return.

The server was friendly and knowledgeable, but he was the only one working the floor so it took a while for him to get back around to the table. The different wines we had were good quality. The food we had was great. The tomato/pea soup was creamy and thick, definitely filling enough with some bread for dipping. The meat/cheese plate options are great quality. And the spaghetti was as it should be. We also had dessert. The tiramisu was the classic recipe and was up to standard. The berry sorbet was delicious, would definitely recommend this one! All in all we had a great experience here and would definitely recommend this place!

Amazing, delicious and well priced Italian food in the upper west side! Came for lunch during a weekday during quarantine and found that they had adequate seating. They have a nice wine list that isn't too expensive and they have a very reasonably priced lunch menu. The staff is super nice and in general loved the places. I will definitely be going back and highly recommend!

If you're looking for an Italian restaurant with small portions of overpriced, flavorless pasta, look no further. My cacio e pepe had plenty of cacio but I couldn't taste even a hint of pepper, and one of my dining companions was equally disappointed with their pesto dish. Our third person enjoyed their small bowl of classic spaghetti.

Huge breakfast portion, delicious, fresh. Came here on my morning walk specifically because they have been donating DALS to the neighboring hospital during the pandemic. The food portion matched their generosity... SUBSTANTIAL! Nice staff, cute outdoor patio. Was a lovely breakfast on a nice day.

Was very much looking forward to going to Tarallucci e Vino last night for the first time with a friend. I'm very sad to say I was extremely disappointed with the meal. We ordered two glasses of wine and shared a prosciutto and mozzarella flat bread. The wine was fine but overpriced at $17 for a glass of Montepulciano. The flatbread was overcooked and dry, the mozzarella slices were sparse and rubbery and there was no flavor or seasoning whatsoever. The only saving grace was the decent amount of prosciutto. Props to the waiter btw who did a fine job of taking care of us. I'm very sorry to write this review. . I support my local restaurants and of course want them to do well, but to spend $80 for some wine and a flatbread was very disappointing.
