Everything taste pretty bad, especially the fried chicken, very powdery and tough to chew. All the curries give us heart burn. The soup was so gross, can’t even take a second sip. Samosa and fries are greasy and salty. The only thing gets finished is the cheesecake. Bad quality of ingredients.

@tollivertravels This is a nice fast casual place. You grab a menu when you enter, stand in line, order, then sit down with a number. You can entertain yourself and your family by talking about the spices in one of the pictures or people watch out the window. It's a little more upscale than the typical fast casual place. Still booths and seats for kids to be comfortable. The food was pretty authentic and affordable. My kids had fun trying a few new things. Their eyes got big when the naan came out. They were pretty happy with it. Nice selection of fountain drinks. We will be back! (see the menu) Allergy and Diet Preferences: Gluten Free, Vegan, and Vegetarian The photo with the kabobs and rice: To the left is the adult portion. To the right is the child portion.

First time in years with Indian food due to bad experiences with my Tree Nut allergy. Got the kids tikka masala to try. The staff took great care with my allergy and communicated it. No issues! Kids portion was great and I will be back!

We order from Tarka regularly. While their prices have gone up (which is reasonable) we were shocked to see the portion size. Here’s a pic of korma kofta (yellow white curry), it was literally 1/4th of its original size.. I hope it was a random mistake and not actual reduction .. and even malai kofta (red curry) was less than how it originally use to be.

Google
First time here. We were referred here by our parents. Food here was amazing! I was very surprised. Looks like a fast food spot. Don’t let it fool you. If you like or love Indian food, this is a MUST TRY! We got the Tikka Masala Curry Chicken and the Coconut Chicken Curry. Both amazing dishes with their own distinct flavor and texture. Were also ordered the Shrimp Basmati Rice stir-fried. All three were so good! Try their hot chili sauce on the side. It tastes great and brings some heat! I highly recommend this place and I look forward to trying other dishes.

Came in for take out at this small Indian restaurant someone recommended. The staff told me where to wait for my order, on one the tables nearby, then eventually gave me a bag sealed with my food inside. Once I got to my hotel there were no utensils in the bag. How does this happen? Why not tell the customer if they need to ask for utensils? Or if there is a place to get those? Or better yet, just put those in the bag if you are going to seal it. Sealing it gives the impression everything you need is already inside. The food was ok, not a lot of vegetables in any of the three items I ordered.

Google
We tried the Korma, Coconut Curry, and chicken Tika Masala. The food was delicious and came out quick. This site, like many others, serves the same dishes, and the tastes are always spot on. I highly recommend you try out Tarka on a cold day so the hot curry will keep you warm. We will definitely be coming back!

Google
Absolutely fantastic restaurant with a cafeteria/eatery style. The food is incredible Indian chaat and some classics you're sure to recognize. It's every bit as good as Viks Chaat in Berkeley for those who have been. The flavors are very good. The service is excellent even if you don't know what to order they will be very nice and accommodating towards you. Great atmosphere with the music and photos too. Excellent overall, no complaints. The place was very clean too!

Yelp
This experience on Father's Day included a $10 off coupon if you spent over $35 on food. I decided that was a great deal even though I am the only one in the household that enjoys Indian food I went ahead and did a curbside pick up yesterday. The ordering process was adequate. Nothing to write home about and I did have some challenges trying to get the food. I wanted in the order and enter my payment, but I was able to accomplish it after a couple of tries. My order included Vegetable Samosas (V) Flaky pastry puffs (2 per order) stuffed with seasoned potatoes and green peas. Three Plain Man reads. Madras Soup (V) (GF) Tomato-Coconut Soup cooked with Indian spices & finished with an aromatic tarka. It was a tough decision for me between the coconut curry and the Korma (N) (GF) Rich cashew almond pistachio cream sauce. Served with basmati rice.. the Korma won out this time! I usually have it with spinach but today I ordered it with shrimp. When I got home with everything, it was easily divided into three generous meals for right around $35 including tip and discount . The curbside service was great. They had said it was going to be 20 minutes and it was closer to 15. Not a bad wait for a Father's Day. !!! The food for me is salad you can order four different levels of heat, and I stay between mild and medium, depending on the dish . It was a very salad experience at Tarka and I rated it f**** 4 stars .

Yelp
Tarka is a really good Indian fast food option. It has decent Indian food, pretty americanized with classic options, including plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. If you're craving dessert, do try their rasmalai - quality of which has gone down in the recent times, but still decent. I only wish their meals weren't pre-made.

Yelp
Absolutely my favorite place to get chicken tikka masala! I'm not super close so we don't come very often. When I do, I savor every bite with a smile on my face. The food is so aromatic and packed full of flavor. The artwork on the wall is so neat. I love all of the little hidden Austin specific decals found all throughout. I have never been disappointed when coming here and you never leave feeling hungry as the portions are generous.

Yelp
When I'm having a craving for good Indian food, I know I can depend on Tarka. The food is always served fresh and the Order-to-Table is very fast. Today I enjoyed the lamb Korma. The sauce is thick and creamy with a wonderful smell and flavor. The lamb is tender with a distinctive flavor. Tarka will continue to be on 'My Keepers List'.
google avatar

Yelp
From the inviting ambiance to the rich flavors, Tarka is a true gem. Every dish is tasty, offering a journey through casual Indian cuisine. Impeccable service and warm hospitality make it a five-star experience. Can't wait to return for more.

Yelp
This spot exceeded my expectations! I got the chicken tikka masala (medium spice), garlic naan, and mulligatawny soup. The tikka masala was soooo good. The chicken was so flavorful and the spice was perfect. The soup was a little grainy, so if you're a texture person you probably wouldn't like it, but I added some lemon juice which added a nice touch. The garlic naan was also delish. I got this to-go but the service was great when I picked up my food and it looked cute inside the restaurant. It is an order at the counter place!
google avatar

Cassee A.

Yelp
Fantastic! Tiki Marsala is excellent and I like that you can pick your spice level. Garlic naan bread is also delicious, will be back to try other menu items.
google avatar

Judy P.

Yelp
Everything here was delicious! Me and my uncle went out here for lunch and got the lamb biryani, kofta korma, garlic naan, and samosas. My favorite was the lamb biryani, it was so tasty and the lamb was juicy. The garlic naan paired so well with the Kofta korma and was so tasty. I definitely would come back to this spot ! The service was great and ordering was easy. Since it's located in a strip mall area, parking was super easy to find as well. If you want quick and tasty Indian food this is the spot.

Yelp
My husband and I's favorite cuisine is Indian. We love everything about it. I expect a burst of flavors to taste and smell. We were busy running errands and we drove by this spot! We hadn't seen it before so we had to stop and try. We were pleasantly surprised to see the restaurant FULL. (That's a good sign). Food: okay, we ordered enough food to share and bring home as leftovers. First of, GET THE EXTRA GARLIC NAAN. Seriously, just do it. It's soft & garlicy and oooo, sooo good. The chicken tikka masala was good. I'd give it a solid 6 out of 10, but that's because I've had authentic Indian food. I'm a bit picky. There weren't enough veggies. Fries: tasty! Not a necessary purchase but yummy. Veggie biryani - this stole the show. So freaking good. Get it. It's spicy & delicious. BURSTING with flavor. Service: subpar! Nothing out of the ordinary. Super chill vibes.

Yelp
This is a good fast food Indian place. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. Went the day before Christmas and was not crowded. We ordered Vegetable Samosa, Chicken Tikka Masala Medium & Chicken Biryani. The medium has a good kick so if you can't handle heat i would order mild. The food came super hot which is much appreciated. The Samosas they were big but i don't think it's worth $5 for two. I would go back and get the chicken Masala and maybe try another dish. Overall it's not a bad spot for a quick Indian food
google avatar

Meghan C.

Yelp
My husband and I were very pleased with the food and service at Tarka. I wish I had ordered mild spice for my chicken biryani but it was still delicious! I love love love their garlic naan. We will definitely be back to enjoy the ambiance again!

Yelp
Tarka is one of my go-to restaurants. They never disappoint and they are always consistent (I went like once a week when I lived around the area). Their portions are huge and could last you for two meals. For the appetizers, I have tried their Tikka Masala fries and Chicken Pakoras. The fries are good and you can't ever go wrong with those; they are a little overpriced for what they are. They just taste like normal fries. The chicken pakoras are good as well! They just taste like chicken tenders, but the batter makes it a lot more chewier. Some of my favorite dishes are the chicken tikka masala, saag, and chicken biryani. You can also adjust the spice level for all of the dishes, which is perfect. I thought that more spice added more flavor as I've tried them with all the different spices. I'm good with spice, so I always went for the "hot" option. All of their dishes are very flavorful. The tikka masala is a classic staple. It's less on the tomato-sauce side and more on the buttery side, which I prefer! I always wish there is more chicken, but for the price, it's pretty good. The saag is a pureed spinach curry, and it leaves a more bitter taste in your mouth. I personally really like it and I often get it with paneer! It is filled with flavor of garlic and onions and it is more of a paste consistency. The chicken biryani is also a classic as well. The rice comes with a yogurt seasoning, which pairs very well with the biryani. I think this dish is the most filling out of all the dishes I've tried, but it's basically fried rice with a lot of different spices. Super delicious and these are definitely my top three choices!

Yelp
My go to is always the garlic naan, veggie samosas, and the chicken tikka masala. A fast food Indian restaurant that is packed with authentic flavors. Unfortunately, I did not have the best experience at this location. I was the first to enter this restaurant and there was about 6 customers behind me. All of the other customers were served with their food but however I was the last one to be served. When I went to ask why, they said it was because of my order. Other guest after me got their food before me with multiple dishes....Totally does not make sense at all. I will not be returning to this location and can't recommend this location.
google avatar

Korey A.

Yelp
We ordered take out of chicken Tikka masala, garlic naan and chicken coconut curry. The Tikka masala was my favorite by far. It wasn't incredibly spicy. The potatoes in the coconut curry were a little under cooked. The naan has great flavor but thr thickness was very oddly distributed with it being very thin on one side and thick on the other. They give you a pretty generous serving and plenty of rice. Our order was ready when I walked in but I ordered it pretty far in advance. All together, I think the place is pretty solid and reasonably priced.

Yelp
This is my first time coming after so many times I've passed by and wanted to come try. Amazing food! I should have came sooner, staff was great and store was well decorated.
google avatar

B M.

Yelp
Food is average but satisfies cravings. Definitely feel like some is just being warmed up. Service is fairly minimal.
google avatar

Josh S.

Yelp
Freakin addicted to the tastes and textures!! Such great quality ingredients AND protein options! They're drinks are amazing- it suggests they take quality of ingredients into consideration and it's priced below places that have worse food, service and ingredients. I've never got something here I didn't enjoy- I mean that! :)

Nina T.

Yelp
Usually this place is good but today I was disappointed in my meal. I ordered to go and didnt realize that instead of the garlic naan I ordered they gave me some rolls. See attached picture. I also ordered the chicken tikka marsala and it was so salty and had a weird taste.. I dont know if I would come back anymore.
google avatar

Shannon D.

Yelp
Always good. The service is always polite. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, garlic naan, and vegetable samosas. All were cooked correctly. The hot is spicy but good. Absolutely delicious.
google avatar

Madi M.

Yelp
Always fresh and flavorful. I like round rock location the most. Service is prompt and friendly.

Moss M.

Yelp
Have tried the Round Rock and Cedar Park locations. Both offer good Indian cooking and quick service. You order from the counter up front. They bring the food to your table, and you add the tip to your order. Food is better than many fancier Indian restaurants and prices are reasonable. I highly recommend.

Marz L.

Yelp
This place is good, just don't come in at 835 pm or later, we were sold very cold chai tea and when we asked if we can get hot tea, we were told no they could not serve us hot tea because they were closing in 35 minutes. The same went for thier mango lemonade. No offer for anything else and just offered a refund. A bit disappointing to say the least. I guess we cant expect full service and choice after a certain time.

Pamela-Jean M.

Yelp
The food was solid and would order again. Have only done delivery so not sure what the restaurant is like inside.

Minesh P.

Yelp
Food is great no doubt. But the staff debatable, I had the Red wine (it was nearly empty bottle, so it must have been out for some time, because I had a taste. I can tell this wine has gone bad (vinegar), was like 2oz. I told the lady and I don't think she got it . basiclly she opened a new bottle and poured into the same glass. Ruined the entire wine and did nothing and said here

Lynn J.

Yelp
For delicious Indian food that beats any fast food and won't break the bank choose Tarka. Warm comfort food with a touch of spice. I love their curries. The Naan bread is excellent too. The curbside service is super convenient
google avatar

Ed M.

Yelp
This place is a go to for me and the wife. The kids usually want something bland, since they are young so we decided to make two stops and man, was that the right choice. We take home from here a few times a month. It is consistently great! My wife almost always gets the Tikka Masala and it is wonderful. I try to get something new every time and love every time. Also, if you ask for spicy, it's actually spicy! And the samosa appetizer is great and the chutney that comes with it I could eat on its own. Absolutely love this place!!
google avatar

Macias S.

Yelp
This was my first experience with Indian food whatsoever. Proportions were great, I only finished half of my food and got full...saving the rest for later. I got the Tikka Masala, it was okay I didn't like the sauce much but I saw other stuff that I would love to try in the future. Garlic naan was good as well as the Tikka Masala fries. Did a mobile order and thought it was pretty neat that they have a rewards system.
google avatar

Rachel O.

Yelp
Great value, quick service, really tasty food. We went their during lunch. CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA Creamy tomato curry infused with fresh herbs and ground spices. The flavor was amazing. The only negative is that there were only a few pieces of chicken. Served with basmati rice. CHICKEN KABOB Tender chicken breast seasoned with marinade. Served with mint-tamarind-yogurt chutney, basmati rice and grilled vegetables. The veggies were fresh and absolutely delicious. GARLIC NAAN Leavened flatbread coated with garlic & basil. I like dipping the naan in the curry. All I have to say is this was so good! MANGO LEMONADE It was a bit sweet so I ordered a water as well.

Robert S.

Yelp
You can't go wrong with any option here. I would only say that the curry with spinach is not my favorite but other than that from the rice to the garlic bread; the food is amazing. Try their lemon berry drink it's a hit. The service is spot on. They deliver to you seat and happy to answer any questions you have. They have a kiosk for ordering as well. You have natural light that comes in from their windows and music playing at just the right volume while your eating or talking about the day. I recommend this spot to anyone.
google avatar

Rello R.

Yelp
This place was good. I didnt expect it to be this good. The cashier was really knowledgeable. She helped me make my order since it was my first time. I was very impressed with the overall service of the place. I this its a great substitute for the regular fast food. The service was fast and fresh. Great spot to go and grab lunch or dinner! Give them a try!

Yelp
We recently used Tarka to cater my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary luncheon. Working with the Tarka team to place the order, customize it, and have it ready on time was a breeze. Our guests raved about the quality and flavor of the food. I highly recommend thinking of Tarka if you are looking for an amazing Indian Food experience!
google avatar

Sandra B.

Yelp
We love this spot! It's quickly become one of our favorites for comfort food. we eat here at least once a week and it never fails!
google avatar

Shonna R.

Yelp
This was a treat for a NYE snack attack before heading to the hotel. The curbside service was a breeze. The vegetable samosas and the mirch masala was perfection. Can't wait to try more of this menu. YUM
google avatar

Gerardo D.

Yelp
Tarka is my go-to for Indian food. The owner also owns the Clay Pit. I always get the chicken tikka massala with the garlic naan. It is so good, it is hard to get something ekse. I have tried other thinks like currys and the kabobs, all very good. I also like the mango fresh drink, its great.
google avatar

Mary A.

Yelp
Fast-casual Indian food restaurant. Food is good and relatively fast. I was going to order online but saw it would be take 25 min. Since I was already at the location I went in and ordered and waited in my car. It took less than 10 min and the nice staff delivered it curbside. I got the Extra Hot but I don't think it was spicy at all. Yummy food and definitely satisfied my craving for Indian food.

Kerry R.

Yelp
The food is amazing. Samosa with mint chutney, chicken tikka, lamb coconut curry , chicken korma are our favorites. Service is friendly and fast.
google avatar

Heather R.

Yelp
My primary Indian comfort food restaurant for long days when I don't want to cook. Has gotten even better recently-- everything is a little tastier. Their chai tea can brighten your day and roll back waves of exhaustion. I get the SAME dish every time-- saag paneer or lamb korma. The Madras soup is excellent and their house salad has a nice variety of veggies, garbanzo beans, and crispy fried naan or chipati-- not sure which.

Yelp
Tarka came to my attention for their Round Rock location. I enjoyed it but didn't go too often as it was a drive to get to. Then the stars aligned and Presto! this location in Cedar Park opened. I have gone a few times. I ordered the chicken Kabob and hold the rice. So it was just chicken and vegetables. The kabob and vegetables tasted good but way too many peppers for me, plus no extra veggies to compensate for no rice. The chicken was cooked well with spices but still tender to the tooth. The vegetables were crunchy and not mush. Then I discovered the Kabob salad, the same delicious chicken and plenty of leafy goodness with the honey-Tamarind dressing. This has become my go to order. BF likes to get the chicken tikka masala. We always get an order of samosas to share. These pastries stuffed with potatoes and peas with Indian spices are a favorite. The garlic naan is also very good. If you go, check out the red wall décor. Look closely at the patterns, it is Texas themed. Oh, very reasonable pricing.

Chris E.

Yelp
Tarka is delicious. The only reason that it doesn't get more stars is because it can be very inconsistent. I say 3/5 times our experience is great (I'm only talking about the food. The customer service is always great.). The other 2/5 times the food tastes like it was leftovers from the previous day. The main example is there tika masala. It is delicious when they come correct but quite often we've gotten a greasy bowl with just a few pieces of our choice protein (usually lamb). I want to love you Tarka. Help me love you!
google avatar

Olivia V.

Yelp
Yummy fast-casual Indian. Good prices, packaging, friendly service, and convenience with online ordering and pickup. I've been twice, and the standouts for me were the vegetable samosas and the garlic naan. Yes, this is extremely basic but I could 100% eat just these two things every day. The mango lassi (both yogurt and coconut/vegan) are freshly made and super tasty. Pro tip: You get a FREE appetizer when you create a loyalty account and order online the first time. More samosas!!
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
I love his place. I just hate this location. Should of known better to venture out of my normal one. Wife and I ordered our usual, Mitch masala and we added garbanzo. Never been an issue. Never had a problem. The cashier came up to us after and said they usually don't do that but she said she'll let it happen this time..I explained to her the other location usually never says anything and we didn't know that they couldn't. No worries. She said don't worry about it we'll do it. She was great. Now the older Spanish lady who didn't realize my wife and I spoke Spanish is a different story. She kept saying on repeat they're a liar, they're a liar to the cashier. If you're that offended by us adding garbanzos to our food then just don't do it. But don't call me a liar. It's not that serious.

Yelp
I live in travisso, which has virtually no good restaurants that deliver here. Rosati's and Rounders Pizza ... i wish would. I have ordered Tarka with delivery from door dash about four times. really good, and maybe getting better each time. try aloo gobi, channa saag ( add paneer), and kofka with cashew and pistachio sauce and with garlic naan. great mix of flavor, well done. my only request that they add some chutneys on the side menu
google avatar

Sean M.

Yelp
Was pleasantly surprised. First time trying this place bc our "typical" Indian restaurant was closed that day. If you are a new customer and sign up on their website, you get a free appetizer (which we took advantage of). Husband got Tiki masala, and I got korma Kofta, both came with rice. We got samosas as an app, and also wanted to try the tiki masala fries. Honestly, how has nobody thought of tiki masala fries until now? They were so good! Definitely a favorite. I had some bites of my husband's tiki masala, it was delicious. And normally I'm not a huge fan of tiki masala but the way that tarka makes it was delicious. My Kofta is like a white sauce with dumplings eaten with rice. It was a bit more on the mintier side, which I was not expecting. I am not a huge fan of mint, but it was pretty good regardless and I ate the entire thing. Both my husband and I got it on the most mild spice level, because we've had experiences in the past where even mild is a bit spicy. But here, mild means no spice whatsoever. So next time, we will definitely have our spice level a little bit higher. All in all, we had a really good experience with the food and would definitely consider eating there again.
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
We were near this location running a few errands and got the bright idea to see if we could pick up some take out. Took about 15 minutes to order two child's plate chicken tika masala of the mild variety ( only way they will prepare it) and walk in, pay and leave. We found out you can order off the child's menu if you don't want huge portions, you just can't adjust the spice level. I like it with a little more heat but what we got was timely and very tasty and very affordable. Wifey and I think we may be doing this more often, yum. Anything on the kid's menu comes with a fountain drink or juice. I seem to have a problem taking pics of take out food, not really used to doing take out, I did get a few shots of the restaurant inside and out....i'll work on that....

Yelp
Was invited to grand opening event. Our meals were complimentary. We were greeted warmly. The place was bustling with activity. The food came out fast, hot, fresh and delicious! The Chana saag (chick peas and spinach was divine!), the garlic naan, and tikka masalas were spot on as usual. We are so happy to have another Tarka close by! I posted a ton of photos.
google avatar

Deepti A.

Yelp
This Tarka location has lousy food. I personally prefer the preparations from the South Austin Tarka or the one on Anderson lane. Every time I have been disappointed with the preparations which seen way off on spices as well as freshness. I ordered Tarka daal which was a 3 star in terms of preparation. They also have Chai tea which is okay.

Jason S.

Yelp
I usually pick up from Lakeline Tarka, rather than dining in. My order is always ready in time, always accurate, and always delicious!! Try the Mirchi Mirch if you haven't yet!
google avatar

Amber B.

Yelp
Food is very good and consistent across the different locations. It's not a small Indian grandma's restaurant, but it's better than every other chain place I've ever been to, and I know exactly what to expect when I roll up to one.
google avatar

Kaya Z.

Yelp
Delicious food, from a chain restaurant. Flavors are all on point. Especially like the Tikka masala and Saag, strong flavors.
