Tarka is one of my go-to restaurants. They never disappoint and they are always consistent (I went like once a week when I lived around the area). Their portions are huge and could last you for two meals.
For the appetizers, I have tried their Tikka Masala fries and Chicken Pakoras. The fries are good and you can't ever go wrong with those; they are a little overpriced for what they are. They just taste like normal fries. The chicken pakoras are good as well! They just taste like chicken tenders, but the batter makes it a lot more chewier.
Some of my favorite dishes are the chicken tikka masala, saag, and chicken biryani. You can also adjust the spice level for all of the dishes, which is perfect. I thought that more spice added more flavor as I've tried them with all the different spices. I'm good with spice, so I always went for the "hot" option. All of their dishes are very flavorful.
The tikka masala is a classic staple. It's less on the tomato-sauce side and more on the buttery side, which I prefer! I always wish there is more chicken, but for the price, it's pretty good. The saag is a pureed spinach curry, and it leaves a more bitter taste in your mouth. I personally really like it and I often get it with paneer! It is filled with flavor of garlic and onions and it is more of a paste consistency. The chicken biryani is also a classic as well. The rice comes with a yogurt seasoning, which pairs very well with the biryani. I think this dish is the most filling out of all the dishes I've tried, but it's basically fried rice with a lot of different spices. Super delicious and these are definitely my top three choices!
