Tasca del Puerto

"A family-run restaurant where the love of good cuisine is clearly evident. The cooking here is based around quality ingredients with a maritime flavour, including an array of rice dishes, fish direct from the auction, and seafood." - Michelin Inspector

07/09/2024 A wonderful song by El Último de la Fila mentioned the quality and expertise in preparing rice dishes in Castellon, and this restaurant is an example of that. Incidentally, the owner claims that the song was written in his establishment. who know... Food: Fantastic, with freshly caught seafood of the highest quality, perfectly cooked with unbeatable flavor. Service: Indisputable when you go with a local; the attention is wonderful. It would be interesting to try it incognito to see if they maintain their standards. Ambiance: Select, in an area that is changing but somewhat complicated. Once you cross the door, you enter a different world. With closed eyes, I recommend this place and let the house's suggestions delight your palate.

I visited recently and was excited to eat at a Michelin Restaurant. I decided to order the Menú Degustación to have a good impression about their cuisine and it's flavors. I must say that overall the food was ok but nothing out of the ordinary. I noticed the use of soy sauce (or something similar) through out multiple of the 8 dishes which was a bit disappointing as I was expecting to have more contrast between the dishes. I would have liked to have the name of the dishes written down on paper so I could see it multiple times. They just bring you the dish and say what it is and you just remember the main component of the dish. Out of all the dishes, I didn't liked much the bacalao one, I found it quite heavy, and a bit plane in flavor. I also didn't enjoy the octopus with potato, was heavy and lacked more nuances in the flavor. The erizo was okeish but it was kind of a cream with a bit of a weird consistency, in my mouth I felt I didn't know what I was eating. I appreciated they didn't charge me for the appetizer from the beginning and the bread and olive oil. Although it is of course included in the price.

Phenomenal restaurant. Simply delicious food and wonderful staff that take great care of you from the moment you walk in the front door right through the entire meal service. Food is fresh, inventive and cooked to perfection.

Nice place with delicious food. Unfortunately almost no one speaks English, which make communication pretty broken...Fair prices, polite assistants. Recommend to go

Clasic furniture and ambience in this sea food specialist local. Attentive service and a vood option of menu, with four entrances and a main ( three types of paella) or a savage fish (turbot, sea bass) and a dessert. 46 €, drinks apart. We tasted 'titaina', cod fritters, mussels, and 'granny's anchovies. For main: the turbot, really good. For desserts, also so good: 'capichina' cake, three chocolates cake and cream and two chocolates cake. With coffee and two bottles of chardonnay from Somontano, we paid 57€.

This is a very good restaurant with an excellent service. Some staff can communicate in Italian and English. Food was fantastic. Price is on a high side, but service worth it.

The food is very good and I would come back. However, the service should warn you that the hors d'oeuvres and the huge basket of bread that are brought to the table are not free. You will be charged. Besides that, the service is very attentive. The climate control is an issue - all over spain - but it's almost not even noticeable here. Luckily, I saw many people in shorts and t-shirts, so that helps for next time.
