Happened upon this market in the village after walking around for hours and looking to buy some water. I thought oh, what fun, an Uzbek market, I'd like to give them my money instead of a corporate chain.
Oh, when I walked in, it was entering a wonderland. They had so much on offer. Bars and bars of hot food, fresh cold salads, manti, samsa, perozhki, kutabi, pastries, plov, buffet, and if that's not enough, a made-to-order station where you can get schwarma or other hot foods to order.
There were staff everywhere making sure the self-serve food was staying clean and fresh. Replacing if needed and keeping an attentive eye on it to ensure food safety.
This wasn't even everything! I didn't get pictures of the bakery and pastries section, the deli, the produce, the cold cases, or the dry goods aisles!
I only got a few peroshki, some cut watermelon for the hot day, baba ghanoush, and drinks, since I was walking and not done for the day, but it is conveniently located right on TOP of a subway entrance.
I can't wait to go back and go big with everything I want. (Bonus, English-speaking staff but Uzbek, too, if you want to talk in Uzbek 😊)
