The Best Cheung Fun In London - London - The Infatuation

"If you told us that Plum Valley’s cheung fun has London’s best waxer on speed dial, we’d believe you. The rice rolls at this multi-storey labyrinth of a restaurant on Chinatown’s Gerrard Street have a particularly shiny, oily quality, in the best way possible, and the roasted pork filling has sweet notes of soy and a little whisper of barbecue. Plus, the only way to improve cheung fun is cheung fun in motion—bring a group so you can secure one of the big tables for a spin-happy lazy susan feast." - heidi lauth beasley

I had an amazing experience! From the moment we walked in, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu offered a great variety, and everything we ordered was delicious and authentic. The beef and fried chicken are just the right amount of spice. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with a modern touch. Plus, the service was quick, and the food arrived fresh and hot. Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been to in the UK! Highly recommend it for anyone looking for authentic and tasty Chinese cuisine.

We really enjoyed our dinner on Friday night. As my friend didn’t want anything spicy we ordered a set of mild Sichuan dishes including a special boiled sea bass fillet. Everything was very tasty. It was incredibly busy so we had to wait a bit for our drinks but otherwise it’s a really good choice for dinner.

Good food, but service could be better. The dishes were tasty and well-prepared, especially the mapo tofu, but the service felt a bit rushed and inattentive. If they improved their customer care, this place could easily be a top choice for Sichuan-style food in the area.

What an amazing place with seriously sensational dishes! Stand out dish: ⭐️ Popcorn chicken with dried chillis was the star of the show. Just wow! Other dishes which were also amazing: ⭐️ Sweet and sour chicken (best ever I have had!) ⭐️ Mapo tofu ⭐️ King prawn fried noodles ⭐️ Egg fried rice ⭐️ Mango coconut milk ⭐️ Peach oolong tea ⭐️ Ice black tea Excellent and friendly service, this restaurant is definitelty worth a vist!

My nth visit to Chong Qing—super convenient location (3 min from Russell Square), and the food is always satisfying. Loved the dry pot squid (though not a fan of the fries-style potatoes) and was amazed by the deer antler mushrooms with pork belly. The Mao Xue Wang was rich, authentic, and packed with flavour. A go-to spot for real Chongqing taste in London!

Delicious and authentic Chinese food! I got boiled beef / "shui zhu niu", pork with green beans, and "fuqi feipian", and they were spicy (not the pork and green beans though) and flavoursome, providing the mala taste of Sichuan that one would expect from these dishes. However, the waitresses accidentally got our order wrong at first, and it was a little pricey.

Would not recommend! Very unauthentic Sichuan style cuisine. The menu is 20% more expensive than restaurants in Chinatown, we ate for £37/person for 3 dish and no drink. The dish came within 5 minutes, which shows that the food are not freshly cooked, particularly the pork and fish. Additionally, the food did not taste fresh and the meat smelt bad. Overall, it was a bad dining experience and we will not revisit.
