We have been here a couple of times and both times were excellent. We didn't make any effort to get there right when they open and their inventory seemed to be quite complete, even though the place is very popular. That's not to say that they will not run out of things, but both times we have come in the morning, the cases were full and the bakery racks were stocked: I think they know how much they usually sell and plan accordingly.
The place is small inside, but they have plenty of staff working to help customers. They're friendly, efficient and patient. There are a few patio tables with a few seats, so you can grab a pastry and coffee then sit on the patio to enjoy it. If you're like me, you can go back in and order more to go :)
This time, "for here," I had one of the beehives (I think that is what it was called -- a pastry with cinnamon filling, covered in honey like a "bowtie" dessert I remember as a kid at a Chinese restaurant. I love both honey and cinnamon, so this was a perfect choice for me. The pastry probably started out flaky though the honey soaks into it and it is more pull-apart and sticky. Definitely get some napkins because there is no way that this is not messy.
I took one of the big pretzel-shaped almond kringles to go and everyone who shared that the next morning said is was great. Theirs is lighter than many I have had before, but still very flavorful.
I will definitely be back!
