Everything seems wonderful but a part of the menu just doesn't work anymore, which is a problem if you've already eaten something from the menu and it's always out. I ordered something simple, American Chinese food, the sasame chicken and a sour & sweet chicken, looks amazing but the chicken was tasting just so bad, no real flavor and the chicken was bad quality, bad at the point that in the first bite we didn’t wanted anymore. So we paid around $45 for both meals and throw it in the garbage.

For Asian-American fare, I was pleased. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken lunch. The breading wasn't overwhelming, the chicken ratio wasn't disappointing, and the sauce met expectations for consistency and flavor. It didn't blow my mind, but it was tasty. It included fried rice and vegetables. I was surprised an egg roll was added. I was too full to eat it, however. Food was plenty. I did not check on the quality of the ingredients or whether this restaurant uses MSG, artificial colors or flavors, emulsifiers, preservatives, GMOs, or anything else. I'm judging strictly from presentation, quantity, relative freshness, and flavor, and what you would expect for standard asian-american fare.

Great food with competitive price in a downtown area. Ambiance was nice, got complimentary cake as well.

Google
I had the vegetable spring rolls and beef with scallions. I liked the crunchy outside of the spring rolls but didn’t really like how mushy the vegetables inside were. I think I’d like it more if there was a non-vegetarian spring roll option, but these were still pretty good for the price. The beef and scallion dish was ok but nothing really special. Next time I’ll try a more spicy entree as it seems like the spicier items will have more flavor than the non-spicy dishes. Overall a pretty average experience, but I’ll probably come again to try other dishes.

Taste of Sichuan is a great Asian restaurant in Madison, especially if you enjoy bold, spicy flavors. They offer a wide range of vegetarian options, many of which are well-suited to Asian taste buds. The food is flavorful and satisfying, making it a solid choice for anyone craving authentic Sichuan-style dishes. I’ve visited the place twice and both times I went with a large group. They easily accommodated us with big tables, and I didn’t even need to make a reservation. So it’s a good option for group dining as well. Overall, highly recommended for those looking for a spicy and authentic Asian food experience in Madison.

Google
Nice atmosphere, the servers were very friendly and attentive. The Pork Blood, Beef Stomach and Soybean Sprout Stew wasn’t for me personally, but still tasted very good, and the Ox Tongue with Tripe Chili Sauce was amazing. The only slight criticism I have is that the portion sizes are ludicrously huge. Seriously, if you’re thinking of eating here, bring some friends because a bowl of that stew could feed a family of 6.

Google
The braised pork tasted very salty and was definitely below average. We ordered the braised pork. It was very different from the picture on the menu. Too much soy sauce. When we told them our review at checkout, the first thing they did was not to apologize but to blame us for not telling them earlier. I am not looking for compensation, but for a sincere apology from them. Not even a "sorry" in the end.

Came here after about 5 years, if you want good food freshly prepared by the owners who are extremely hard-working, you need to come here. I have been eating here for at least 7 years and the food quality has been amazing. They are no frills, hard-working people who make excellent food.

Yelp
I've been in Madison for work for the past 3 weeks and have been to Taste of Sichuan several times each week! It's been consistently good, with extremely fast service. The food is mostly Sichuan, with some American Chinese staples as well. It's also a huge space, so you'll never have problem getting a table. They do a lot of takeout business as well. I highly recommend the spicy Sichuan chicken (with tongue-numbing peppercorn), the Chongqing chicken, home style tofu, and spicy green beans. I also brought several colleagues who enjoyed Taste of Sichuan very much, and returned themselves!

Yelp
Taste of Sichuan hit the spot! I had been bar hopping and needed a bite. I was realllllly hankering some Asian food and reallllllly not wanting to go for a long hike to find some. Alas, Taste of Sichuan! It was after 7 and there were a handful of folks dining in. (Though, I will say, a TON of takeout orders occurred during my dining experience. It was happenin' spot.) The crab rangoons were worth ordering and while the fried rice didn't blow me away (it did my littles -- who inhaled all my leftover rangoons and rice at the hotel upon my return). The vegetable rolls were great and the two entrees I tried were no frills but solid. Service was quick but not the most personable. Location was convenient. Pricing was right. The inside was clean and not trying too hard. In hindsight, you could tell why there were only a few folks dining in and a ton to go. It is a definitely a solid options in Madison, just call it in and pick it up.

Yelp
Amazing dinner. Close to hotels so convenient walk. Staff was courteous and knew their stuff.

Yelp
I took out lunch from here. It was not busy. Sour spicy chicken was my lunch item. The dish had a ton of red chili in it. It was flavorful, but not too spicy. Food was ready within 15 minutes of ordering.

Yelp
Our food was delicious! Service was very quick and there were lots of happy people eating there. I thought the prices were reasonable as well. There is a section towards the back of the menu for American Chinese food :)

Yelp
Ordered this when I was hung cheddy on a Sunday morning. Not really sure why this was my initial thought for food at 11 am, but I was not disappointed at all. It did not look very appetizing at first, as I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, and it came as bare chicken, and I had to add the sauces. However, once I dug into it, I was mesmerized by the quality of the chicken and flavors I was hit with. Definitely will be back, maybe dine in this time to get the full experience.

Yelp
Chicken fried rice had a lot of onions in it and the chicken looked like it was just boiled. There was no seasoning on the chicken at all. The rice itself was fine.

Yelp
Stopped here on the way to Milwaukee. It was pretty empty seemed like most people ordered to go. I just had some potstickers which were decent. The restaurant just needs a bit of a refresh.

Yelp
I ordered the shrimp fried rice and it barely resembled the photo outside the restaurant. The shrimp on the photo were large and looked stir-fried. The shrimp I got were pale, small and tasteless- they looked like thaw and eat shrimp. The fried rice had a lot of chopped vegetables in it and scrambled egg, neither of which were in the photo. My wife liked her sesame chicken, though I found it to be tough. We won't go back.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place because I'd heard good things and it's been on state street for so long. I even had hope while looking at the menu and all the great options and reasonable prices! Orders were swiftly taken, then all hope was lost as the food came out. The won tons were okay, they had good filling but the wrap was really soggy. The soup had a good amount of ginger in it which was different but gave good flavor and the seafood was fine. The issue was the noodles. They didn't use egg noodles and instead were more so the stir fry ones that don't really belong in a soup. The braised beef was tender but the flavor was off. More sweet with a thick sauce? It was.. sub par and the seasame chicken was good but was more reminiscent of orange chicken. And the fried rice could have been from a frozen bag. Then the service was, what I would expect from a good Chinese restaurant. They ignore you. And usually that's fine cuz the food is so good. But this time I needed hot sauce, some water, and a to go container, against my better judgement. So sad to say I will not be back. But I suppose if you're in the area?? No, I would probably just pick up happy wok instead.

Yelp
Probably the Chinese restaurant that I visit most often. Warm people with nice food. 10/10

Yelp
Ordered a ton of dumplings from a Taste of Sichuan on State Street in Madison Wisconsin, which is not too far from the Capital building. The place was clean, but a little bit more ambiance could go a long way. The restaurant looked small, but there is plenty of sitting upstairs. We ordered 3 sets of dumplings and an order of the beef and chicken soup. When I first tasted the beef soup, it was bland.. however, I neglected to add the flavor packet. After adding the flavor packet, the soup tasted much better. So don't forget to add your flavor packet, or you will miss out like I almost did. Next on to the pork buns and vegetable dumplings, which were not bad but needed additional flavoring like the soup. The dumplings tasted ok, but I needed a bit more. There were other items on the menu that I am looking forward to trying.

Yelp
My daughter wanted chinese for lunch and I didn't want your regular Chinese for Americans. I knew I made the right choice because it smelled so good in here and everyone's food looked amazing. I got the dry braised chicken in hot pot and my daughter got sweet and sour chicken. I was so happy with my food. Tons of mushrooms, bell and shashito (I think) peppers, garlic and maybe tofu and the right touch of numbing peppercorns. Folk, if you don't know this dish comes with a ton of dried chili peppers. That's how it's supposed to be for the complaints I saw in the comments. My daughters chicken was good too. What you'd hope for in Sweet and Sour chicken. Fluffy crispy batter and the chicken wasn't greasy. Hers also came with some fried rice and a little egg roll which I stole from her:). I took home some dumplings for another daughter who loves them and they were tasty as well. I'm excited for a place in Madison that I can take my family who likes American-Chinese food and I can get something that I really want! And they have Hot Pot Side note: The service was great. I don't think some people realize the service at somewhere that isn't a typical "american" restaurant may not have the wait staff at your table every three seconds but they were nice, made sure our drinks were full and we got our food promptly.

Yelp
My new favorite Chinese spot in Madison! All of the food was fantastic. Not pictured: spicy and sour chicken, which was so flavorful and delicious. Portion sizes are excellent. The fried rice was awesome and the crab rangoons were **chef's kiss**!! We ordered take out directly from the restaurant and our food was ready when we arrived! Still hot and fresh by the time we walked about 10 min home. I love the convenience of it being located right on State St. I will most definitely be coming back!!!

Ram V.

Yelp
The food was great. We ordered the lamb dish from the Chinese menu and the garlic chicken from the regular menu. The lamb was excellent and chicken was a bit too sweet for us. The shrimp fried rice wasn't that good. The service was fast and good. I'd give the ambience a B+. Understandably it was on busy street.

Yelp
Came here for hot pot, maybe the only place that does it in Madison anymore. It's an in-house only menu item that doesn't appear online. You can order meat platters pricing about 21-25$ that comes with meat, Napa cabbage, radish, greens (one I can't remember, spinach), taro, a small portion of noodles, fish balls, fish tofu cake, and some other meat ball. This comes with the broth... I generally opt for half spicy, half not spicy. This is plenty for two people considering you like what's included on the plate. I ordered a plate of vermicelli noodles in addition too! If you're looking for spice, they don't hold back...one flake hitting at the back of the throat will really set off a coughing fit. I'm all for this until the broth gets over saturated with chilies in which I just scoop them out. The broth is probably plenty for even a group of 4, but I'd opt to get two combo platters if that's the case. They have a side table where you can add additional sauces like oyster, soy, bbq, sesame oil, sesame sauce, green onions, garlic, and sriracha. Not much is needed though so add sparingly!

Yelp
This place have very good hot pot and came with standard toppings and items for them. The downside to the food is that the deserts are self served so they stay at their counters for a long time, making them very dry and off putting to eat. Another problem after Covid is the way the hot pots are served. The food come in a giant bowl for the table to share, which is not viable with current awareness of public health. Other than that the place look a little dull with yellow paint so it look a little old. The tables are all booths but there is no space between the booths nor is there a divider to block out the conversation next to you. I say you can go here if it's the closest hot pot place but there are places in town that are more preferable

Yelp
My husband and I came to the restaurant to have lunch, totally impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and flavors from the dishes we ordered. We loved it! We'll be back :)

Yelp
We got takeout from here on Christmas and everything was delicious! They do have a deal where you can get a free chicken dish, I can't remember the exact one but I think it was the general chicken if you spend $50, make sure you ask about this because they did not mention it when we placed our order on the phone. The chili chicken was hands-down some of the best chicken that I've ever had. The garlic green beans were also delicious, but rather oily, so maybe be ready to clean them up a little bit. Food was prepared in a timely manner, and for takeout they gave us a cute reusable bag. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I love taste of sichuan! The food is always delicious no matter what I ordered and the ambiance is very warm and welcoming. I really appreciate how quick the service is as well. One of the best thing on the menu is the sautéed green beans. 10/10 would recommend. I also love the spicy pork also 10/10. Ultimately, this place is great and has so many yummy options to try!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I made a trip to taste of Sichuan for hot pot since our favorite hot pot place (double 10 mini hotpot) is no longer open due to Covid. We were excited because we haven't been able to have hot pot in over a year. When we got to the restaurant, we were a bit confused as to what the combo meant in comparison to ordering things à la carte. The woman acting as our waitress (also working as the carry out person) did not understand us when we were trying to ask about this which made it a bit difficult. We decided to go with the a la carte because we thought it would be a bit cheaper than the combo (the waitress told us the combo comes with only a small amount of noodles and we wanted a full serving). The menu says that the broth is free, so that's what we made the estimate based on. Fast forward to the end when we learn (from our check) that the broth must only be free when you order a combo? That was confusing. The hot pot itself was OK. The flavor of the broth was not bad, but it was not spectacular either... it was 3/5. They do have a condiment bar where you can go and make your own sauce for dipping, which we love to do. They do not give you any recommendations or guidance on how to make a good sauce, so you end up just guessing a bit. The place we used to go to before covid (Double 10 mini hot pot) was cheaper, more flavorful, had unlimited noodles, and provided guidance on how to make a good dipping sauce. I was hoping this would be more similar, but it was not. I keep hoping and praying that they will open up again. If they do, go there instead. If they don't, and this is your only option, I guess you could give it a shot.

Yelp
We ordered through DoorDash. My boyfriend got Mongolian beef and I got spicy beef noodle. He didn't like his. He thought it was not very flavorful. I thought mine was good. It was spicy and interesting broth. The meat was pretty tender. The bok choy was pretty mussy by the time I got to me since traveling time. I like my boy choy to have a little bite in it. Also, there were some peppercorns in the broth. They gave you this numbing effect. This was like the first Sichuan place that didn't make feel sick from the oil. Typically, Sichuan food did not agree with me because they used so much oil. My stomach couldn't handle that but this place was different. We also ordered fried pork dumplings as an appetizer. The filling was small but the taste was good. Overall, I would recommend order their specialty foods.

Yelp
This is the same restaurant as the old Soga Shabu Shabu if people are unable to locate it! 3.5-4 stars. I've only tried their hotpot and nothing else, but am a big fan of it. In Madison, there aren't too many options for hotpot. Here, the portion sizes are great, and half and half (spicy and non-spicy broth) is always the best option for sharing. Their prices are better than Double-Ten if you're not big eaters and share one combo with another person and it is located right on state street. Their vegetables are plentiful and fresh and all of their fish balls are always delicious. I also like that the veggie plate doesn't come out obviously frozen. The one downside is the sauces. The sauce options are much better at Double-Ten and they have unlimited noodles. Here, I feel that the sauces are left out all day under the fluorescent lights and I wish that they were put on ice (I personally love spicy and don't really need sauce anyways, so it's not really too much of a problem for me). They also include a free small dessert bar, which is a thoughtful gesture. I haven't tried any of their other dishes, but it seems like family style eating. Prices can get a little high for the other dishes, I've noticed, but I really can't comment on how good they are. All in all, this is my go-to for dinner in Madison if I'm craving some hotpot.

Yelp
I loved the shredded pork in garlic sauce! it was amazingly tasty and the staff was so friendly. the vibe was so nice and there were.

Yelp
I consider myself to have a pretty high spice tolerance and have strong love for Sichuan spices. The dishes at Taste of Sichuan were great, but just a heads up that they can get pretty spicy! Much spicier than other Sichuan places I've been to in the Midwest!
google avatar

Erik S.

Yelp
Good little Sichuan place, pretty authentic if you order the right thing. We had the 辣子鸡 and the 麻辣鱼片 (the spicy chicken and the spicy oil fish) and both were quite yummy. The 辣子鸡 in particular had a nice heat level! Thanks for being open on Xmas Eve, Taste of Sichuan. 我们喜欢你们的四川菜。We'll be back another day to try the 火锅 (hotpot).

Cindy T.

Yelp
Order twice and both times made my stomach sick af, fried rice was very oily and did not taste good

Yelp
I ordered from Grubhub so I can't speak to the ambiance. But the food all arrived on time and was piping hot which was appreciated. We got edamame and spring rolls (quite small, see picture) and squash cakes for vegetarian friendly apps which were all good. Especially the squash cake which is a pumpkin purée breaded into a pancake (not at all spicy). For main dishes we tried the home style tofu which has tofu, savory sauce and some veggies and a side of rice. Very generous portions! The meat eaters had rice noodle chicken and cashew chicken which was good by their report. There are plenty of spicy menu choices too if that's your jam. I wish the menu had more (ok, any) description of the item to help with selection.

Yelp
This was our first time ordering (delivery) from Taste of Sichuan and we are thoroughly impressed. By far the best Sichuan food I've ever found in Madison, far better than Fugu and Ichiban, which are the other two we tend to order from. I like that the Taste of Sichuan chefs aren't afraid to make things spicy rather than dumb down Sichuan cuisine for the beige masses. I also like that they know how to use Sichuan peppercorns, again without being afraid to scare those beige tastebuds. I've traveled in Sichuan Province and this food is the real deal. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience Sichuan cuisine. Disclaimer: I can't speak for all of their dishes. We ordered the Chicken w. Chongqing Chili Sauce, Spicy & Sour Chicken, Sichuan Munbean Noodle, and Ma Po Tofu. The Ma Po Tofu wasn't as impressive as the other dishes, but it was passable. The order included a free General Tso Chicken, which although more of an American construct and certainly not Sichuan, was actually very well prepared.

Yelp
I'm lucky enough to live in an place where I have access to a lot of Szechuan food and I think this stacks up pretty well. The restaurant is huge. We walked in around 8pm on a Saturday and the place was about three quarters full. We ordered... Cumin Lamb - Stir fried until crispy. I wanted a little more cumin flavor. It was a tad salty but I liked it. Pea Shoots - Super garlicky. Good contrast with super seasoned spicy items. Spicy Fish - A ton of fish. I appreciate that it didn't have a one inch layer of oil on top so I could spoon the soup onto my rice. I would reccomend to anyone who happens to be in Madison.

Yelp
I wanted to write this review because I want more people to recognize this restaurant-- this is my favorite restaurant in Madison, period! This place is the best Chinese restaurant in Madison by a long shot. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this hidden gem! My favorites are their twice cooked pork, their spicy sichuan fish, and their tripe ox tongue and tripe. The portions are generous, and they don't skimp out on fish or tripe like some other restaurants! Their food has a good spice level, although if you dislike spicy food, their pork melts in your mouth and is incredibly delicious as well. Even more, delicious rangoons are free if your order is over $30! Every dish I've tried here is excellent. I've also only tried their non americanized dishes, so I'd recommend you stick to that as well. I would highly recommend this spot to anybody-- it's much better than any overpriced pub with $10 cheese curds, I promise! On top of that, the staff is very polite and they were very careful with Covid-19 policies, so all staff members wear a mask. Go support them and try it!!

Yelp
I had no idea what to get so I went with the farm style pork that was recommended. The menu has quite a few options, plus an "American Chinese food" section. I was told it would be spicy but it's really not, sriracha is spicier (note: I have decently high tolerance). Portions are huge - I was super hungry but still wasn't sure I could finish it off. Two normal people could easily share this one dish. I'd like to see more veggies and chili in this dish, but it was a solid meal. Sadly they were out of bubble tea on my visit. The food came out surprisingly fast, like within 5 minutes. There is also what seems to be some sort of dessert bar for the hot pot but I don't know how it works.

Nate H.

Yelp
Ordered 2x Shrimp Fried Rice to go. Took 38 or 39 minutes, not the 15 minute expectation communicated by the lady behind the counter. Order was placed a tad before 6pm Saturday night, so they were definitely quite busy! Taste was good, not Excellent or Mediocre/Poor. Waiting an extra 23 minutes (especially when in a situation of keeping an eye on our watches) is the reason for 2 stars instead of high 3 or 4.

Yelp
It was a cold, rainy day in Madison. Me and my two friends were wandering for a place to eat, and craving sesame chicken. "What about this place?", my friend asked, pointing towards a restaurant with a dark red awning and a sign saying "Taste of Sichuan". "It's worth a try," I said, and we entered. Yet, little did we know, our lives were about to change. Taste of Sichuan has become an integral part of my college experience. It is by far and away one of my favorite restaurants. Not only is it cost effective($9.95 for a sesame chicken meal), it boosts the most amazing ambience. For example, the dining ware is never the same. Sometimes we receive our drinks in styrofoam cups. Other times plastic. Furthermore, our plates are always different, not to mention we sometimes get chopsticks yet get forks other times. Taste of Sichuan's only flaw is the service. Sometimes, it is slow. Other times, you may ask for white rice instead of fried rice, but still get white rice. However, this simply reminds me to sit back, relax, and savor the experience of dining at such an amazing institution. Overall, I recommend Taste of Sichuan to every person ever. Like literally ever. It is an amazing place and their food slaps. So, next time you are craving sesame chicken, or egg rolls, or crab rangoon, I urge you to wander to the restaurant on state with the red awning.

Yelp
Almost choked on a metal piece the size of a staple in my beef. Have loved Taste of Sichaun in the past but the quality has slowly gotten worse and worse. Now this happens.

Yelp
Hotpot was excellent. And amazingly service was fast and good. We also ordered a bunch of appetizers. Loved the spicy beef which is a cold meat but it was extremely flavorful. We got the mungbean noodle which wasn't great. We were four of us. We ordered half and half hotpot with half plain and half spicy. The plain broth was more flavorful but the spicy one added it's own zing. They didn't have a huge variety sauces but I appreciated the free cookies and some fruits they had on the side. We ordered the combination meat that came with the hotpot and an extra wagu beef, along with potato, udon, fish cake and tofu. The hotpot also came with some vegetables, rice noodle and fish cakes. All in all, we had a wonderful meal. On a cold winter day- it was a perfect dinner for us. Must visit if you love hotpot.

Yelp
Great Chinese restaurant. Will definitely come back. The food was like exactly what we could get in china

Yelp
Overall great hot pot place for Madison. Best things I liked about here were the fact they had a create your own sauce bar. This to me is the best part about hot pot. I have never been to any hot pot in China that did not have this. I also like the picture menu as I don't always remember the Chinese words for foods I have had there. The only thing that kept this from a 5 star was they don't have an all you can eat option for the hot pot. Although this will not stop me from coming back again. Great mapo tofu as well.
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
We had so much fun here from the hot pot to the bubble tea. Our waitress was a bit too blunt about her preferences but it didn't bother us too much. We did a half and half: spicy vs nonspicy seafood hot pot. Also, got a bowl of beef udon noodles which was our fave!!! The thai iced tea was a winner too. Have I mentioned the sauce table?! You can pick your hot pot sauces, and there are tons of fun and yummy options from garlic sauce to oyster sauce. A wonderful late night dinner option!!

Yelp
Food is alright. A little bit too expensive for the quality. Worth an occasional visit but I could not be a regular for the price. Known for the hot pots so stick to that. Spacious area, no wait. I got the spicy chicken and fried rice. Spicy chicken was good. Fried rice looks like they dumped far too much soy sauce on it. Taste okay. If trying to limit salt intake, avoid fried rice here especially.
google avatar

Grant K.

Yelp
There's something to be said about cooking your own meal... which is the point of this review. The hot pot experience is so unique and do interactive, especially relative to the rest of Madison. The ingredients aren't super gourmet, but you have absolute control over portions, what you eat, how well done it is, etc. I got the combination pot with beef and lamb. Keeping in mind that I'm not huge on heat (I'm not even a fan of buffalo sauce), it took me only one mouthful to recognize I wanted no part of the spicy side of the pot. vegetables were very fresh. There's also a condiment bar for extra flavors. Fantastic location on State, and there's usually no wait.

Gillian W.

Yelp
This place was great! Go with a group for the hot pot! We were told that all of their broths were vegan, and they did a split pot for us, so we could do one spicy and one mild. Both were really flavorful and it was so nice to have the contrast. The hot pot comes with a heaping plate of veggies and noodles, plus whatever main you ordered (we got tofu), good for a couple of rather hungry people or a few people wanting a lighter meal. You can continue ordering more plates of things to dunk in if you're still hungry. There is a bar set up with various dipping sauces, fruits, and jello (not vegetarian). More dipping sauce variety would be nice, but overall we were very satisfied. There are also many vegetarian and vegan options in the menu. My friend got an eggplant dish that was also very tasty.

Yelp
Food was okay and hit the spot. Make sure you look at the lunch options towards the back of the menu. What's great about this place and separates it from other places is the bento lunch box. With your main entree order you get soup, two dumplings, and option for a cold protein with chili oil. A lot of food for the price!

Yelp
Good food, decent environment, affordable price. Visited couple of times. They have delivery service too.

They gave us an expired bottled drink from (Asian standard date and time) 2021-03-22. That day we went was 2022-01-13. For American conversion of date and time it's: 03-22-2021 and 01-13-2022. When we told them about it, the lady raised her voice -- probably from embarrassment and the lack of wanting other customers to hear about the drink. And in all honest, I didn't even speak loud and it was only when she raised her voice that other customers began to look our way. She then proceeded to say that the date was a "product code". That was not a product code. I looked at the date and it was in the Asian standard of date and time (the dates mentioned earlier). She assumed that because it was in a different date and time standard that we wouldn't recognize that for what it was. She also said they just got the shipment -- which was probably a lie. And even if it's a new shipment, why serve customers expired drinks and raise your voice at them when they mention this and ask for a refund. I should also include that I was given a lychee smoothie as well as an expired drink. Unlike the expired bottled drink, I had no date of expiration to go off of. However, I've tasted many lychee smoothies And you can tell it was expired. Some main ingredient(s) that was used was expired and you could taste it. It's one thing to have expired drinks, but what makes this restaurant worse is that they raise their voice at their customers when bringing an issue to light. Also, I even have a picture of the expired drink. I'm not too sure how to post it on here though because I'm new to this. If I figure it out, I'll upload it.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch today. Every meal with a toddler is an adventure, so we didn't order that much just in case we had a meltdown on our hands. The gyoza was steamed and very yummy. The spring rolls were fried and crisp without being greasy. We ordered veggie lo mein and all of the vegetables were fresh and crunchy. Everything was great and we were quite impressed. They also are on Eatstreet so you can order delivery. I'm looking forward to trying more.

Yelp
Quite a gem in a saturated area of the food scene in Madison. I was weirdly craving just simple fried rice, which never happens, so I wanted to make something of it. I called to order the Yangzhou fried rice and the lady on the phone, though a little short in tone, was very helpful. I asked to make it spicy and she suggested I get the Chengdu fried rice instead, which is the same dish for the same price ($11.56 total), just spicier! I thank her for her recommendation because that fried rice was nothing short of perfect! The level of seasoning elevated a simple dish like fried rice to gourmet status, without the price tag! The Yanghzou fried rice also includes shrimp, chicken, scrambled eggs and cubed ham (or spam), so only for a dollar or so more, you can get multiple meats instead of the normal fried rice. 10/10 will definitely be returning to Taste of Sichuan!

Yelp
My friend and I like this restaurant so much though we waited for around 30 mins. Funny thing is since I know I can track my waitlist, we went away to get Starbucks. However when we got back, they deleted us from the waitlist regarding we ain't present. Luckily it's easy to get back to our waitlist lol. Food are perfect for my Asian stomach and we spent around $40 per person. I definitely recommend this.

Yelp
We ordered the nutritional clay pot and the spicy fish and both were delicious. Although the fish was way too spicy for me, the clay pot's broth was delicious and so was everything in it. The fish was still really good, but if you don't have a super high spice tolerance ask for it with less peppers.
