8 Great Restaurants Near Hard Rock Stadium

"If you like a big, super flaky Jamaican patty, this is the place to go. Taste Rite Bakery in Miami Gardens has nine options to choose from, including a lobster and shrimp. They also have coco bread and potato pudding. It’s a small spot that’s more of a takeout operation, so stop by if you’re cool with eating in your car. These patties would also make a great stadium traffic snack as you’re heading into the game." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo

The 19 Best Bakeries In Miami

"Taste Rite is a Jamaican bakery that has five different locations scattered around Miami and South Florida. They make one of our favorite Jamaican patties in the city, as well as fluffy coco bread, hard dough bread, gizzadas, and more. But the patties should be your focus. They come in nine different versions including lobster, shrimp, ackee, and beef." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino

The Best Jamaican Patties in Miami

"There are 6 different Taste Rite locations in South Florida, but the one on 2nd Ave in Miami Gardens is where the magic happens. All their patties are baked here and then shipped to the other locations throughout South Florida. Like most mass-producing bakeries, there’s a little filler in their beef patties, so it’s more of a meat paste than minced meat inside. But if you like a super flaky, golden crust and a generously sized patty, this is the place to go. There are nine options to choose from, including a lobster and shrimp." - yolande clark jackson

Taste Rite Bakery Review - Miami Gardens - Miami - The Infatuation

"There are five different Taste Rite locations in South Florida, but the one on 2nd Ave in Miami is where all the magic happens. Patties are baked there and then shipped to the other locations throughout South Florida. Like most mass-producing bakeries, there is a little filler in their beef patties, so it’s more of a meat paste than minced meat inside. But if you like a super flaky, golden crust and a generously sized patty, this is the place to go. The Taste Rite slogan is, “One bite is never enough!” which is why you might want to try a few different patties while you’re here. There are nine options to choose from, including a lobster and shrimp, but unlike most places on this guide, Taste Rite doesn’t offer a mild beef option." - Yolande Clark-Jackson

Google
I am a frequent customer because the quality of the food that is served here is excellent. The workers are welcoming. They are very experienced because they know how to deal with a large group of customers. These are the exact reasons why there are always packed.

Google
The filling of the patty is good but the consistency is off, some days the veggie and ackee is perfect a next time yuh go the patty fillin a drop out, patty look like it dead it half cold,mi nah go back a dis place. Thats where golden krust win the consistency is always the same but the filling nuh great. Taste rite have the filling but mannnnn.

Google
Patties and potato puddings are very delicious. I have tried almost every flavor and all of them are good. However, veggie and beef are my favorite. Also, I almost always leave with a slice of potato pudding. I have even ordered a small pan of pudding for parties and family gatherings several times and people literally fight over it. Try their pastries and baked goods if you haven't, you will not be disappointed. 100% more delicious than any other South Florida 🇯🇲 bakery. Order for the office, friends and family too...you'll be the office or family favorite 😉

Google
Not because we love your patties means we want to stand out here in the hot sun every morning. It says open at 10am but the doors are never open before 10:15am, why after 10 you’re just cleaning the floors? and then we get inside and nothing is ready. Get it together!

Google
The patties are delicious and the service girls are nice.Best in the area.Would have given them 5 stars but I hate when they dont have simple stuff that is on their menu like porridge.

Google
Some of the best flakiest Jamaican patties I’ve eaten. The outside layer was flaky and super soft and fresh. The fillings they offered were pretty unique from the usual selections. The jerk chicken was amazing and when you get those small pieces of whole chicken, it’s a beautiful delight. Seeing curry shrimp was a bit of a shock but that curry filling was tasty and spicy goes so well with the pastry. Then you get those pieces of shrimp, just a great one to get. The patties weren’t super filled but they make up for it with a great flavor and pastry that’s one of the best. Will be coming back soon.

Google
I was told they have the best patties i must say they are pretty good. I was a lil disappointed they didnt have spicy beef patties so i tried the regular beef.

Samera N.

Google
Made an order for the next day for the office. The bakery called the morning of the due date to confirm the order, and everything was ready by the time I got there (picked it up on the way down from Palm Beach Gardens to Miami). Excellent service, I could not ask for this to go more smoothly. Everyone at the office was happy and loved the patties. Fantastic experience and will definitely do another order again.

Yelp
I only tried the Jamaican patties. They only had beef. The heavy set lady was rude to me and skipped me in line. The pattie was hot. It has a good amount of filling but I don't like the consistency of the meat filling, it's like minced beef and gravy. It's OK I wouldn't go back due to the rudeness and purposely being skipped over but actually all she did was inconvenience the guy outside waiting to deliver their supplies to the store because I parked in his spot apparently, but had she not skipped me to take someone's order who ordered a way more complicated order than I did everything would have worked out fine because all I wanted was two patties. I dislike when people look at you with an attitude and try to judge you and usually they're always wrong. Lol, It's just ignorant. I apologized to the guys outside for their wait.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice selection of Jamaican baked goods and reasonable prices, however the customer service is horrible! The ladies at the counter were so rude.

Yelp
The patties were very delicious, I tried the chicken, beef and cheesy beef . They were all delicious and had an amazing crust to it. The chicken they used cut up chicken, it's not minced like beef so you get a few pieces but none the less still very yummy. The patties had a good meat to crust ratio. The only critique I have for them is I wish they had a more mild version of the patties because although they are very flavorful, they are a tad bit on the spicier side. The lady told me they had a little kick but they were spicy. Not unbearably spicy but it's there. Very affordable you're paying less than $3 for some freshly baked patties you can't beat that. I also got the cocobread and it was very soft and melted in your mouth. 10/10 recommend this place for some good Jamaican patties
google avatar

Yelp
The red bean soup is amazing, it's bursting with flavor. Absolutely delicious! Nice little place, nice workers. I definitely recommend trying the red bean soup and their Jamaican patties, they taste different than others I've tried, they are quite nice. Catch the red bean soup early, it runs out quick, high demand. This place is worth the money. The red bean soup was something I never tried, try new things, you'll be surprised.
google avatar

Adam E.

Yelp
Wow and yummy and then a nice kat nap right after you have one. Very fresh and tasty I must say. It's not somewhere you go inside and eat. Get what you want and go on a picnic

Dahvia P.

Yelp
The red bean soup is delicious! Great customer service, (so far as I have seen) and overall a pretty nice little place. It got packed quickly, not much space to stand but it's fine, I recommend trying them!
google avatar

Shania M.

Yelp
My go to Pattie shop. The crust is always nice n flaky and it's always stuffed. My go to are the beef and ackee n salt fish. Go early on the weekends because they get packed.
google avatar

Roy H.

Yelp
Very nice local Jamaican bakery... the Patties are amazing!! I def recommend getting there early as by end of day certain options are out, but we'll worth it. They also carry other baked products as well.
google avatar

Judy S.

Yelp
The place was recommended to me by many of my jamaican friends. It had a great reputation for good paties. I had to try it. It is a small place. It is a pick up only type of restaurant. They only let so many people in. They do have food items on a menu and traditional jamaican type pastries on a counter displayed. I ordered the beef paties I was pretty happy with my paties. They had a really nice thick flaky crust. They tasted good. A good ratio crust to filling. The filling tasted real good too. I liked them. They tasted freshly made. I had the coco bread. It was OK . The employees where very nice and helpful. My order was handled quickly and professionally. The place looked clean. As we left the place a line was formed outside. This place is popular. I am glad I tried it out. The place where this bakery is located looks busy. Parking can be an issue.
google avatar

Nisha M.

Yelp
Only 4 stars because the full menu is not always available. Other than that this is a perfect grab go snack place especially if you appreciate Caribbean flavors compiled into flaky pastries .

Hazel C.

Yelp
Does not open at the time indicated online (0930). Got there by 0925 and 2 employees informed me to give them a few minutes. After 7 minutes, a car pulls up and says they don't open until 10. It would've been nice if those employees informed me of the 1000 open time. Patties are great, but I really don't like my time being wasted. If the time online is incorrect, as a business, they should correct it. I ended off leaving.
google avatar

Damian C.

Yelp
I don't know what happened to this place i think the owner are just doing to much cut backs nothing taste the same anymore pattys are 80% crust now the flavor is not the same maybe new bakers but I don't buy here anymore no good patties in south Florida no more mi miss nice mon

Yelp
Best Jamaican Pattie's I ever had with lovable Jamaican staff one love brother !! The only thing bad about it if you come late no more Pattie's they sell out fast
google avatar

Jeane N.

Yelp
Best Jamaican patty's ever!!! Always fresh and hot so make sure you give it a second to cool off. I love their coco bread too! I've been coming here for years and I love it. It's a small restaurant so sometimes if the line is long, you may have to wait outside but they do work through the line very quickly and it's worth it!
google avatar

Yelp
OMG, the best patties, and coco bread I have had in an awfully long time. The ladies who took my order and cashed me out were very polite and friendly. This was my first time here, a friend had brought me a patty from this location on Friday, 6/11 and on Saturday, 6/12 as soon as I woke up and got dressed, I was on my way to this restaurant. I ordered 12 patties and the ladies at the restaurant set-up 2 boxes for the patties and labeled the boxes with the types of patties that I bought. Great experience and delicious patties. There is a line, so pack you patience, I can also say the like moves pretty fast. I will definitely return and tell my family/friends about this place. It feel really good to post a very positive experience and very tasty patties.

Yelp
The Patties, breads, and cakes are great! Always hot! And great customer service! Right Nextdoor is Treelion which is also a great vegan restaurant

Yelp
4.5 Stars I was driving down 441 headed to Miami when the desire for some "immigrant" patties hit me. I knew there was a Taste Rite location along the way so I decided to pop in. There are only two places where I buy patties, the Taste Rite location in Pines and Five Star Bakery in Lauderhill, which the latter wins hands down. This location is tiny, and it's only take-out. They have some of the more popular items I'd find at a Jamaican bakery like hardo bread, bulla, gizzadas, puddings, and spice buns...but everyone primarily comes for one thing, the patties. Their patties come in beef, curry chicken, vegetable, jerk chicken, seafood, shrimp, callaloo, lobster, shrimp, and fish. I ordered a curry chicken, ackee & saltfish, and a curry shrimp. I ate all of them pretty quick, one right after the other. They were all pretty moist & tasty, and each one had a nice flaky crust. Curry is my favorite spice, so anything with curry is a palatial circus for me. But what came next I didn't expect at all, as I was headed down the I-95 I started to play my favorite Michael Jackson song," I don't know if I'm Black or White". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2AitTPI5U0 This only happens when I'm really satisfied.

Linda C.

Yelp
Patty tastes great. However customer service n customer needs improvement. They collect your money then tell you Pattie's is baking you need to wait 15 minutes which becomes 25 minutes.

Yelp
As I was visiting Miami, I'm such a foodie! I.was trying a lot of cultural foods but this place turned me on to Ackee Loaf. OMG! Where have I been all my life? This food was sooooo.good! It was like eating coco bread stuffed with saltfish/ackee. The flavors were definitely tantalizing my tastebuds. I can't express enough how good this food was. I went back twice but the next time I.will try the callaloo loaf. It is definitely a "whole in the wall" place but the ladies were very welcoming and waited on me with.great customer service. They were very patient with me because I wasn't sure on what I wanted but they help me choose wisely..lol! Great food...
google avatar

David J.

Yelp
Great local spot for piping hot, FLAKY and crisp, FRESH Jamaican patties. I've been loyal to them for years. The consistency in their product has not changed. Be careful when you bite into your patty--the freshness from the oven is REAL
google avatar

Moe C.

Yelp
Not bad for flakey pastries...just wish they had spicy option, rather than just mild, overall fresh and juicy
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Waited almost an hour to be totally disappointed with the worst patties ever! They also sell large quantities to people ahead of us, which clears them out causing the rest of us to wait for another batch. They need to get their game together.
google avatar

KD S.

Yelp
I never intended to visit this place. I was at a nearby market and noticed a long line outside of the door. I figured that it was due to physical distancing practices (which was part of it) but the line was VERY LONG. That was my cue to get in line and see what the hype was about. I got one of each patty and my friend and I loved each and every one! Check them out!
google avatar

Sharene M.

Yelp
Never have I eaten a patty that made me float in the air. I don't know what kind of magic they put in the crust, but please never change the recipe. This bakery has perfected the patty. I don't say this lightly. In fact, I don't even really post on Yelp, but I couldn't stay silent. They could ask for my first born as payment for a patty and coco bread and I would really have to think about it. I have erected a shrine to Taste Rite bakery in my home, and I will faithfully light a candle every night. You have my allegiance! All jokes aside, the price is right and the patties are hot and fresh. They observe proper social distancing as well and allow no more than 4 folks into the shop at once. The employees should feel proud to work in an establishment that has somehow achieved perfection. Taste Rite for president 2020!
google avatar

Veron P.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem, best patties I've ever had in my life and everyone who I introduced to this place has been coming back non-stop. My go to is the beef and cheese. If your really hungry try it with the garlic coco bread ridiculous flavors from the perfectly spiced, super flaky crust to the luscious meaty filling. A must try, one of Miami's best kept secrets!
google avatar

Jazz R.

Yelp
First stop from the airport and last stop when taking an afternoon flight! Even bought the Uber driver two and he fell in love, he literally groaned at the first taste! Hands down the next best from being in "yard"! Keep up the great work guys!!!
google avatar

Mayella C.

Yelp
Authentic and delicious. The beef patty and coco bread were delish. There was an entire assortment of traditional jamaican pastries you could get at this place. Most of which looks mouthwatering.
google avatar

Brett T.

Yelp
Always clutch for a patty and coco bread. Just might catch someone cutting fresh sugarcane outside on most days as well.

Jamie R.

Yelp
Best patty I've had in my life, I don't even eat meat but heard about the patties...it was out of this world....everything is made to perfection....tried the beef and Callaloo just wow. My only recommendation is to renovate the place. Appearances sometimes make me feel the food isn't as clean. Nonetheless it taste amazing
google avatar

Adrian M.

Yelp
Not too bad. Beef patties are different than what we get in Jamaica. The coco bread is good.
google avatar

J D.

Yelp
And STILL...pattie champion of the world!...that we have traveled. Whenever we visit South Florida, Taste Rite is a must stop on any day. Raised in what is now known as Miami Gardens, I remember the original shop when Gordon was there regularly. The always flaky patties were incredible then and they are flaky, outstanding and taste right now. The well-seasoned chicken, jerk chicken along with the calaloo loaf are our all-time favorites followed by the calaloo, shrimp, and vegetable patties are always a good fall back plan. The coco bread is sensational when fresh from the oven. Tip 1: Call ahead and ask if they have chicken/shrimp because they go fast. Tip 2: Ask how long the coco bread has been sitting. Tip 3: Enjoy! A true delight from Taste Rite.

Paul Anthony S.

Yelp
I use to recommend taste rite to people often far and wide and recently, meaning today I have to take a few steps back. I traveled on a 6am flight from Brooklyn, New York and I walked in at 11am, said morning. I ordered 4 beef and 2 vegetable because their was no Callaloo. I left and started to eat the beef only to find it was filled with food fillers (clear gel/ adulterated meat). The veggie was also filled with a clear gel like filler. The business should charge more and keep a good product. The business will fail once the food change. Start Charging $2.50 for beef and $2.00 for vegetable. Minimum wage changes and so should the price of your product.

Toya S.

Yelp
Best Patties and Coco Bread in town. This place stay busy with customers. Parking sometimes tend to be a little scarce.

A. E.

Yelp
First, I must say, I LOVE the Ackee Patties. Mi nah luk fuh nuttin else. A close friend let me taste a cocktail-size Ackee Pattie last summer and I was in love. Before, I left town I was sure to place an order of 2 dozen full-size Ackee patties to carry back home with me. Yesterday, I was in town again and I called in the Miami location first thing in the morning to place an order for 2 dozen again and I picked them up from the Sunrise location right before my evening flight. I carried them through security and on the plane like precious cargo. I rationed them out to some close family and friends and put the rest in the freezer. I just ate one today and it tasted even better than I remembered. I will be back again and again...no doubt.
google avatar

Shannon A.

Yelp
The callaloo loaf is so GOOD! Perfectly seasoned and the cocoa bread is so soft and warm. I'm a meat eater but I could this everyday!

Alex D.

Yelp
Absolutely, hands-down, undisputed, best Jamaican patties known to mankind!! The crust, OH that flaky delicious crust! Then they fill up the patties with a very generous amount of amazingly scrumptious meat filling. WOW.
google avatar

Sean W.

Yelp
This is my favorite patty place in Miami. I have tried every patty place in Miami and even a few in Broward. No other place compares. I always eat the beef patty and curry chicken patty and the cocoa bread. The meatloaf is great also! This is next best thing next to Tastee patties in Jamaica. This is a small but clean place.
google avatar

Tina T.

Yelp
Best beef pattie and chicken pattie.. Filling was flavorful and pastry was nice and flaky...Great corn meal pudding super moist .. Chocolate cake was fluffy and moist .. Lemon cake was sooo good and moist .. Will go bak for much more
google avatar

Belinda B.

Yelp
Good patties..smiling staff! Tried the jerk chicken and the beef patties. Will return.
google avatar

Gary G.

Yelp
Tried the shrimp and ackee patties today and they both were outstanding! A Jamaican friend recommended the place and he was spot on. I will have to agree with some of the other reviewers that the parking is tight- I was there around 3 pm but well worth the effort. The place is kinda hidden back in a little strip mall and the signage isn't the best.
google avatar

Jesus R.

Yelp
BEHOLD!!! The undisputed champ. These are the best patties I've ever tasted. Period. Especially the Jerk Chicken Patties. Not even the stuff in Jamaica was this tasty. Granted I haven't been on a massive excursion back a yard fi dem! ;-) But maaaan, these patties are good.
google avatar

Tamar M.

Yelp
Best Patty and meatloaf in South Florida.. The Ackee loaf and Patty is very good. Just make sure you go early because the jerk and Ackee is the first to go.
google avatar

Camille F.

Yelp
Have wonderful quality, with amazing prices fresh and ready to go. They even have healthy choices like whole wheat cocoa bread sometimes even garlic bread . With delicious Jamaican drinks and pastries. Taste rite is just rite.
google avatar

Tammy H.

Yelp
Your search for an authentic Jamaican Restaurant has come to a stop. This is by far one of the best patties I've ever tasted and it gets better........They have great Jamaican food too. I moved to Tampa and can't find a restaurant that compares. So anytime I visit, it is mandatory that I get some of this food!

Neil M.

Yelp
Best patty in town for real. They are small & quaint but they do an excellent job in ensuring the food taste as authentic as you remember them form the homeland. Kudos. They had slipped up once when the changed the cocobread, but the original taste is back
