The 16 Best Restaurants In Hollywood, Florida

"This Hungarian bakery serves a variety of Central European pastries, breads, and desserts, including some lightly sweetened poppy seed rolls and rum balls the size of your fist. However, we like stopping by on Saturdays for langos, a favorite Hungarian street food. Imagine a savory elephant ear topped with garlic oil, cheese, and an avalanche of sour cream. It can take a while to get your langos, since Hungarian expats congregate here on Saturdays looking for a taste of home. The wait is a silver lining, though, because it allows you to pop into one of two Russian grocery stores that sandwich this small bakery. " - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino, carlos c olaechea

Tastes of Europe Bakery Hollywood, Florida - Review - Hollywood - Miami - The Infatuation

"This Hungarian bakery is located right off US1, which goes by Federal Highway in these parts. They serve a variety of Central European pastries, breads, and desserts, including some lightly sweetened poppy seed rolls and rum balls the size of your fist. Grab a beer or tarragon-flavored soda, and walk back to Tastes of Europe after about ten minutes. You’ll be rewarded with one of the most decadent snacks in town." - Carlos C Olaechea

The lovely lady who works at the bakery is so nice. The bread is always fresh and delicious, reminds me of being back home in Europe. I went there earlier than their regular opening time of 8:00am. I was there at 7:40, but the kind lady let me in and served me 🤗. Lovely customer service 👏🏼😊🥨

Google
great authentic little Hungarian shop. The langos are sooo amazing! had high expectations and they delivered above and beyond. My son said that the langos are better than the ones we had in Budapest! immediate fans. You can eat the or take to go. You can also buy the plain langos and take home to customize as you wish

Google
Reminds me of my grandmother on my Dad's side, who was 100% Hungarian, and made a lot of the items available in the bakery. Nostalgia got me when I saw the poppy seed rolls and the fresh bread. Saturday is the day of all days to go, lángos daaayyyy!! If you have never had lángos, it's time to take a long, hard look in the mirror and evaluate what you have done with your life up to this point. It is exquisite. Fried dough with garlicky sour cream and shredded cheese on top? What more do you need? Go for the lángos, but buy anything you see, and it will be incredible. Guaranteed.

Google
Here you can enjoy excellent langos and other Hungarian baked goods. You can also buy other Hungarian products here, for me the Pick salami is an absolute recommendation. The service is also friendly and courteous and you can even have a chat in Hungarian. I'm jealous that we don't have stores like this for the Hungarian community in Germany.

Google
Small local bakery specializing in Hungarians pastries, dishes and a few grocery items. Helpful staff and the Langos is incredibly good. Hit it up on a Saturday morning. You’ll love it.

Im from Spain but my mom is from Érd, and i have to say i had the luck to be in Hungary many times as a child when i was back in Spain we would go almost every summer and spend there at least a month, i absolutely LOVE HUNGARY and everything its has to offer, from the sweets to the savory pastries, the Langos and the turorudi, excuse my spelling i can speak in Hungarian but writing it its a different story, thank you for bringing a piece of home to the US, i dont come here too often as it is far from where i live, but i love it, and they are amazing and kind people that cares about what they give to the costumers, if you reading this please try everything because i asure you will love it ♡

Yelp
Wow what a find! We went to the grocery stores on the corner but saw this little bakery and had to check it out. The challah bread is out of this world - sorry didn't snap a photo - but this traditional Romanian custard pastry is even better! I could not believe this existed in south Florida! I've only had it in Europe and it tasted even better than I remember! Can't wait to try more next weekend! Worth the drive up for sure too! Parking on the street or in front. Be ready to speak Romanian or Hungarian. ;)

Yelp
I will be coming back here for sure. The bread and pastry were so delicious and fresh. The place is small but quaint. I wanted a cheese Danish and received apricot instead. It was really good even though not what I ordered. It wasn't until I left that I realized the mistake. Sometimes things are meant to be. The raspberry was equally fresh. You dive into pillowy soft dough and sweet filling. Perhaps next time I go back I can get the cheese Danish! I have yet to try the rye bread. It was fresh and already sliced. The quailty was better here for baked goods than the two European grocery stores nearby. I reccomend trying this bakery.

Yelp
Made a trip just for the Langos that I had heard was good. And it was!!! quick service , good coffee and the Langos which was the focal point for the trip was fantastic.....also purchased some cherry pastries which were excellent as well. Nothing fancy, but good food and direct service! Go if you want some good Langos!

Yelp
Great authentic little bakery! Definitely going to return and try more items. Got the chocolate snail and dark rye bread. Both were excellent!

Yelp
Good product. Inconsiderate service. We ordered ahead a special vegan ethnic pastry for a memorial service in church starting at 10:00am. When we went to pick up at 9:45am, they said it had not been made and would not be ready until 3pm. They offered us a non-vegan alternative knowing that our church observes Great Lent by abstaining from dairy amongst other things. So much for ordering ahead for a special event.

Yelp
Maybe I went too late in the day, but not sure as to why the place was even open if they had nothing to sell. I walked in yesterday and there were only a few rolls of bread in the two cases - nothing else. The place is very dark, not pleasant at all. Two Hungarian men sitting in the front and a blond lady behind the counter. All three of them gave me a weird vibe, not one of them was friendly - I left quickly.

Yelp
This place is delicious. Great cremes desert. The best I've had. Come on Saturday morning for the Langos. Its an Eastern European treat- fried dough topped with sour cream, cheese, and garlic. You can also get it sweet with powdered sugar. The coffee is amazing too. It's small inside, but the breads and pastries are amazing. They don't use preservatives.

Yelp
The place looks dark & dirty, she can definitely take more care of it instead of constantly talking on the phone. She also put up the prices like twice since the bakery is opened. I love her Easter breads, though. They are outstanding but pretty pricey!

Daniela I.

Yelp
They have a new owner, last time I was there was a arrogant blond lady with no manner and no customer service skills at all.I ask for some pretel they have for a day before,I did not want to by four of them I wanted only two,her answer was they are already in a package,I can not open them, they where on a simple tie plastic bag.I wanted to live not buying nothing, but I said let me a better person then her. This women does not understand, when people pay money for something, they deserved courtesy and respect.

Yelp
Bread is so authentic! Love it so much, always fresh and soft. Don't like a decoration of that place itself, but all products are very tasty. Limited choice, since people buy a lot. Would definitely buy again from them sweets for my guests!!!

Yelp
I love this place! I was so sad when the other Hungarian Bakery was sold. But this place is better and everyone is always so friendly. Best Croissants.

Yelp
When I used to eat wheat, we'd buy danishes and fresh baked bread. The cheesy pastries were not too sweet and had the right bite. Prices are good and it beats going to a grocery store where you don't know how long the bread's been sitting our or what chemicals and transfats it may contain.

Aarona J.

Yelp
This is by far the most authentic and delicious bread and "Kifli" the crescent shaped rolls are like soft bagels- amazing!! It's a new business and they need support - in return we have a true taste of Europe- not the fake baked goods from Publix!

Susie R.

Yelp
The chocolate in the pastries doesn't taste chocolatey at all. Most of their Romanian Hungarian baked goods are just adequate.

Yelp
This place is definitely a hidden gem when you drive pass the main road. I stumbled across this place after a quick visit to the Romanian grocery store next door. It was just before lunch when there was no one in the store. The minute you walk in you can get a whiff of their fresh baked goods. On the shelves, there are specially made loaf of walnut and poppy seed bread waiting for you. The walnut bread looked like marble cakes in a way but they are pretty tasty and not overly sweet. As the nice owners were going over their baked goods behind the counter, I was instantly eyeing the fresh out of oven cream cheese filled pastry as that was mentioned at last. I don't think I caught the exact name of it but I bought one. I paid cash and ate it while it was warm/hot in the car. Since I had a quick lunch stop over in downtown Hollywood I went back for two more. They recognized me but of course were happy to sell me two more of those fresh out of oven goodies. This is definitely a good place to go back to. I'm recording this place as one of my many hole-in-the-wall findings in South Florida.

Yelp
I drove about 40 mintues to Tastes of Europe thinking that it was going to compare to Gerbaud Bakery which I visited a few years back in Broward County as well but apparently no longer exists. I was a little disappointed when I arrived at 1:30 in the afternoon (the bakery closes at 4pm on a Saturday) and the shelves were literally empty. There were maybe 20 cookies left, and bread from the day before being sold (they were labeled as such). No other pastries, no sweet breads (there was a bag with two that were for an order to be picked up), nothing else. I thought...hmmm..I drove all the way here for this? I bought about 1/2 dozen cookies and left. The cookies were good, but again, I was upset that everything would be so empty after my long drive. My comment/advice is, be there as soon as they open or forget it, unless you live close by. I'm sure the bread would have been great, had they had any left, but not a good lure for visiting again. They definitely need a better stocked Eastern European bakery in South Florida :(
