Tastykake - Review - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Tastykake is a classic brand in Philadelphia shelling out Butterscotch Krimpets, Koffee Kake, cherry pies, and other cheap pastries at Wawa (among other places). We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Candis R. McLean

Look closely at your packages. I bought a box of cupcakes and one of the packs had half of a cup cake in it, along with what looks like soap bubbles. I checked the other packs and they look like they had soap in them too.

I have purchased Tastykake products for years. What has happened to their products!? They are tiny! Recently purchased 2 boxes of Krimpets. The plastic wrappers inside were open and cakes obviously hard! Registered a complaint at Mfg website. After 2nd complaint I received a call from a very condescending woman saying she sent a email in response. I have received nothing! All very disappointing!

My go to is tastykake coconut junior. Well no more. I bought a whole box and there was no coconut on or in it. It's now just a cream and again doesn't taste like coconut. Very disappointed

You have cut back to your product is smaller and you have jacked the price up and makes it unbearable to even wanna think about buying it. Your tasty cakes. I just literally sat here and ate a crumpet that was so small and nasty because it was not fresh that I would never buy your product again.

Quality has come way down. Cupcakes are dry and much smaller. The small part doesn't bother me as much as the quality. I just had a junior and it was terrible also. I stopped buying the blueberry pies long ago because there are no blueberries. Flower Foods has ruined a Philadelphia tradition. I hope your proud of what you've done.

First, they raised the prices. Then they shrunk the products. I use to buy 2 boxes every week. The price increase was an issue but I still bought them. Now however, after shrinking the product size I no longer buy them. increase the product size to the sizes they were before COVID and I'll return. Otherwise, you're loosing customers according to the people I've been talking to about this. There are options in case you haven't noticed.

Tastykake used to be the standard by which all others were judged; that no longer holds true. The prices keep going up, but the continung massive shrinkflation is ridiculous! Bought a box of chocolate creme filled cupcakes and out the 6-packs inside (12 total cupcakes), only 1 cupcake, 1 not a pack, 1 cupcake had a smidgen up creme filling. Terrible! This is also exactly why I stopped buying the pies and tandykakes-a smidge of filling in the pies, basically just crust. Same with the tandykakes, smidge of peanut butter. Sorry, tastykake, you've failed and lost a life-long customer. I'll be buying Little Debbie products from now on. Hopefully, their products don't suffer from massive shrinkflation as Tastykake products do!
