Tasty Food To Go - Review - Long Beach - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"With a name like Tasty Food To Go and a location inside an old house that doubles as a barber shop, this tiny Thai/Lao restaurant certainly doesn’t lack intrigue. And we can tell you this order-at-the-counter, to-go only spot (owned by the same guy who also runs the barber shop) also serves some of our favorite food in Long Beach. Our go-to Thai dishes here are the panang curry and pad see ew, and on the Lao side of the menu we love the nam tok (sliced beef with mint and chili peppers) and the larb (spicy minced chicken)." - Brant Cox

The 24 Essential Thai Restaurants in Los Angeles

"This cash-only Long Beach option is a great stop for both Thai and Lao food, offering a mixed menu that moves from starters like fried chicken to noodle and rice dishes and right to Lao-style papaya salad with salted shrimp. The po tak, a fiercely sour soup loaded with seafood and chiles, is a must-order." - Kat Thompson

"It’s not that you dislike extravagant prix-fixe dinners, it’s just that after nine courses of seafoam shooters, your body is screaming to be truly satiated - immediately. Go to Tasty Food To Go. This Thai/Lao spot in Long Beach is located inside a bungalow house that doubles as a barber shop and has fantastic food across-the-board. My husband and I stumbled upon this gem about three years ago after a visit to the Long Beach Aquarium. We wanted to grab a bite before heading back to Orange County, and all I can say is, this place is nirvana. Since then, it has become our absolute favorite Thai restaurant, not just in Long Beach, but in all of LA and Orange County (and we've tried a lot). I’ve never gone out of my way to drive 30 minutes for takeout before, but this place is worth every mile. The food is consistently delicious, and the staff is always warm, welcoming, and kind. Today, something especially motivated me to finally write this review: The Thai Papaya Salad. I was just going to take a few bites of it before diving into my usual Pad See Ew (which I adore), while my husband got his go-to curry or Panang. But the salad was so bright, fresh, and flavorful that I couldn’t stop eating it, and that’s all I ended up having! That’s how good it was. This restaurant is truly a treasure. We used to have a favorite Thai spot in San Diego, but we’re so grateful we found something even better, and closer to home. If you’re in the area, or even if you’re not, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won’t regret it.

Google
Food was delicious. Chef/ cashier was super nice, gave each of my kids and orange before we even ordered. Atmosphere is a 4 bc it is exactly what you expect from a mom and pop take home spot. Don't expect fine dining when you are at an Asian take out place! Food came out pretty quick and everything was packaged well. We got pad see ew, pad kee mow, and yellow curry. Every dish was under $15. Good portions, yellow curry had enough to save for a 2nd meal. Pad see ew was shared between 2 kids and parents got a few bites in, so that tells you about the portion size.

I found this steel wire in my food. Extremely dangerous they need to be more aware of this. Stop scrubbing pans with steel wool and start using a different alternative

Google
My go-to spot for Lao / Thai food in the L.B.C. I stopped in today & got soup because it was cold and rainy. Soooo good! I usually get the green papaya salad & / or pad see ewe but the soup hit the spot & was exactly what I needed. The owners are so kind. It really feels homey here. Down to earth service with delicious food & a comfy atmosphere. I came all the from the San Gabriel Valley because I knew it would not disappoint. The vibe here is so good & genuine. Sending blessings to these owners. The food & service brought sunshine to a gloomy day.

Google
Fast, friendly, and delicious. The atmosphere is somewhat irrelevant as it is primarily a to go establishment. I have sat out front once and during an afternoon it isn't too bad of an experience despite the tight traffic and hectic intersection. The staff are fantastic and the food is even better!

Google
I’ve had thai food from 3 other places this year & they don’t come close to Tasty Food To Go! So flavorful & reasonably priced for the portions you get. It’s challenging to pick a dish because everything is so yuuuum!!! Tofu Pad Thai (chose very spicy) is the best I’ve ever had: perfect taste & texture, just added some lime once I got home. My mum’s coconut soup tasted wonderful, the way the lemongrass & other flavors complement each other is such a joy!

Google
This is the best it gets next to Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos cuisine (having traveled to these countries my self) and the closest! Every time I visit SoCal, I make sure to go out if my way to get me some really good authentic pad Thai and beef salad (as shown in photos). I have not yet tried any of their other specialty dishes cause I never get tired of having the same thing here lol but I’m sure it’s super delicious, you can’t go wrong! High quality and fresh ingredients for a very good reasonable price for the amount of portions you get. Make sure to get a side order of egg rolls and Thai tea with your meal, super good and rich in flavor. It’s a hidden secret gem that’s definitely worth making the drive and finding a parking spot. Cash only and carry out but they do have a cute patio in the front where you can enjoy your meal.

Carly Valdez

Google
First timer tonight. We got chicken pad see ew and chicken pad thai, and a mango sticky rice. The staff was warm and friendly, and made suggestions for what items to try next. Everything was super delicious, with big portion sizes for the noodle dishes. The pad see ew was just the right amount of funky, and very savory and good. The noodles were beautifully chewy! The pad thai was also great; everything tasted fresh and authentic. The mango sticky rice had a rich deep flavor that I've never tasted in that dish before! We'll definitely be back again for more!

Yelp
I love the lao papaya salad here. The portion is huge and spice is just right for me (I ordered medium spicy). Parking can be hard to find. I just parked in the plaza across the street (Northgate). They have some seating in front but most people just order takeout.

Yelp
Always a hit. Never miss. They deliver on flavor, portion, and consistency. I love this place. The workers are super nice. Outside patio is really cool too. Nice vibes. Pad see eew. Papaya salad. Sliced beef with mint was epic.

Yelp
Great Pad Thai in large portions, for carry-out. There seems to be two food writers who follow the Long Beach food scene very closely (Brian Addison and James Tir), and they just published a long article (search for "Essential dishes from Long Beach restaurants in 2023"). James recommended the Pad Thai from Tasty Food To Go, so put this on my list to stop if in the area. That opportunity came on a Friday afternoon, as we were headed back from the OC. The Pad Thai ($13.95 + $3 for shrimp upcharge) is a great dish, with large portions, definitely enough for two sittings. I'm convinced that the best Pad Thai uses fresh shrimp as its protein (the unami from the fish sauce just makes the jumbo, plump shrimps just pop), with tofu being second (beef, pork, or chicken just doesn't work for me). This version was good, with the noodles extremely hot but not sticking together and the toppings like green onions, crushed peanuts, fresh bean sprouts, shredded carrots, all sprinkled on top. All the accolades doesn't seem to have changed the way they make their food, large portions and all. As mentioned many times by others, it is take-out and cash-only. There is some outdoor seating and plenty of families and couples were camped out in front, waiting for their food. Available street parking was non-existent, so ended up parking in the grocery store lot across the street temporarily, with my wife ready to move in case we got noticed. I did ask our order taker , and he mentioned that he hadn't heard of any customer being towed for parking there, but obviously couldn't promise anything. My order took about 15 minutes to be ready, and we were on our way. Should make a great dinner.

Yelp
Took me a while to finally try this place, but I'm very glad I did! The pad see ew is the best I've had and the fried rice is top notch! Lam and the rest of the staff are very friendly and welcoming every time I've came to pick up :) Would recommend takeout from here if you live in LB!

Yelp
We came here because their Pad Thai has been living rent free in my bf's head since he last had it. We ordered the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. I'm usually a Pad See Ew girl, but the Pad Thai here is exceptional. There are raw slivers of carrot and bean sprouts which provide so much crunch. The flavor of the noodles were perfectly balanced between savory, tangy and sweet. We ordered it with chicken but I would probably do shrimp or tofu next time. I would skip the Pad See Ew. It was pretty average, no charring on the noodles. I liked how they used Chinese Broccoli though. Ordering over the phone was easy! We parked at the grocery store across the street and ate in the car because it was raining. For two people, two portions were huge! We could probably share one Pad Thai next time. I'll be back next time I'm in the area!

Yelp
Just want to say that I was blessed to whoever was at the register when I checked out. Ordered the crispy pork and the beef. It hits the spot! Very delicious and its the first time trying this spot.

Yelp
Wow, I can't believe I never heard of this place. My cousin kept telling me I had to try this. He was right! He picked up a great spread for three people, and we left overs. We started with the coconut soup. The mild actually had enough heat and great flavor. I love the added little mushrooms, and the soup includes rice. The shrimp egg rolls were soooo crispy and fresh. We also ordered the cashew chicken. Wow! That dish was so addictive. We enjoyed it a little more than the pad Thai. I think we just didn't physically have space for the pad Thai after that. I'm definitely going to explore other dishes. We placed an order over had phone and was really easy to pick up. Be careful with the packaging it did tend to leak, but everything was still there, including the delicious sauce!

Yelp
Hands down my favorite Thai food in Long Beach. Delicious every time, always quick and easy. And thankfully they take card now so I can go more often!

Yelp
Excellent food, worth the wait. If you don't like to wait call it in because I feel like these noodles taste better when the sit for a good 15/20 min anyways. Everything on the menu is a go . Shout out lamb, great spot homie. Hidden Gem

Yelp
Pretty average Thai food to go, especially for the price. But they deserve extra recognition for the friendliness and service. Had the chicken pad thai, shrimp pad kee mao, thai papaya salad, shrimp egg rolls, and sticky mango rice. Portions were generous, but that doesn't matter if the dishes are lacking depth and flavor, which we found to be the case with the pad thai and especially the pad kee mao. Everything else was good and freshly prepared. Being that Thai food is so ubiquitous in the area, you have many other authentic options. It's nice that, like many, however, it's family-owned and run, and you immediately see that when walking in. The cashier was extremely gracious and even mentioned that it was, so you can see they take much pride in it. That's always a great attribute for any restaurant.

Yelp
The pad ke mao and Thai iced tea are bomb. They were super fast and super nice. Definitely coming back to try more

Yelp
This place is so good. I love their Tom Kha. Lam is freaking awesome and so friendly. He takes his extra time to talk to everyone. Will try other things later but I always crave their Tom Kha.

Yelp
I've looked at various reviews of places to check out after my Carnival Cruise and decided the place I wanted to check out was Tasty Food To Go. Just 10 minutes from the Long Beach port, I made my family bring me to this small gem of a place. Came around near opening time (10:30am) and was greeted by who I am guessing is one of the family members that is a part of this wonderful place. I wish I got her name but she was very friendly and just so easy to talk to as if she was one of my family members. As you enter this small family establishment, there are many wonderful photos of their various dishes and a few stools to sit on the side. I ordered their Chicken Pad Thai, Mango Sticky Rice, and a refreshing Thai Tea. The Thai Tea was perfectly made and when I was done, I wish I had gotten more than one! Their Pad Thai is full of wonderful flavor, freshly made, and such a large portion that there was much to share with my family. Their Mango Sticky rice was also delicious. The mango was perfectly ripe and sweet and went so very well with the sweet rice. On the side was the coconut milk I drizzled on top which was heavenly. What breaks my heart is that it's so darn far away from me. Totally blows away places around me in taste and cost. I will say though that if and whenever I'm in the area, I **will** stop by here. Prices are reasonable and the food is like coming to a nice homemade meal. Just an FYi, they only accept cash! There is also an ATM conveniently outside. Street Parking is difficult but it's across the street from a supermarket. Two thumbs up for Tasty Food to Go!

Yelp
Tried this place finally. I really wanted to like it. I tried Thai papaya salad and Pad Kee mao. Honestly not my favorites. Both dishes were ordered mild however were super spicy. Even my husband, whose Mexican input spices on everything commented how spicy it was. The papaya salad I wanted to try but the little shrimps made it really fishy so I woudlnt order that again. The Pad kee mao was so spicy it was hard to detect other flavors. I would be willing to try them again and try other dishes and ask them for zero spice.

Yelp
I thought I put a new review but I didn't. Here it is. Still amazing food at an affordable price. Seriously one of the best Thai food and I am a Thai food addict. They now take credit card. I wish they bring back the bar stools inside. I like eating my soup piping hot but there is no place to sit inside anymore because they removed the bar stools: it is too cold outside for me.

Isabella V.

Yelp
Always hot and amazing food. Filled with flavor and veggies (my favs). Service is always with a smile :) and usually I just call to pick up... always quick and efficient:)

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and believe the hype. This place is definitely worth checking out. Tucked into a narrow building off of Cherry and 10th St and about two feet from a barber shop, this place is literally a steamy, loud, and fragrant industrial kitchen with a counter and a few stools (like this place has To Go in its name for a reason). The service here has always been solid and the owner is super charismatic -- it definitely adds to the charm of this space. My family has been ordering here for years and while the prices have slowly crawled up, they're still super affordable for the quality and quantity of food you get. Our time-tested favorites are: Pad Kee Mao: Hands down probably my favorite pad kee mao in the entire world ever, this slightly sweet, somewhat tangy, very umami greasy wonder has a ton of wonderful vegetables mixed in. The noodles are always the perfect consistency. We always get the heat level as "Thai spicy," and they don't mess around. Panang Curry: Generous chunks of protein swimming in a stew of creamy, brothy spicy-sweet curry and sliced peppers, and sometimes other vegetables depending on who the cooks are (I think). Zero complaints, this curry is good for the soul. My stomach is growling just thinking about it. We highly recommend checking out this spot; just come with an open mind about parking (*cough*justparkatNorthgatemarket*cough*) and with cash in hand...and an appetite because these portions are huge. Yum.

Yelp
If you're looking for some tasty food to go then you've come to the right spot! This hole-in-the-wall spot is Thai die for! We love some pineapples so we fell in love with the veggie fried rice & shrimp fried rice with extra pineapples! The portions are good enough for 2 meals, so you get double the love for one price! S/o to Kel, the cashier, for being amazing at her job. She makes everyone feel welcomed and part of the TFTG family! Due to the quality of food each dish takes about 25-30 minutes to make, so there's plenty of time to chat outside in their spacious outdoor seating area. The business is built like a home, so it feels like you're sitting on the balcony or porch catching up with the homies. Yelppie Note: This is a CASH ONLY establishment and they do accept tips!

Yelp
A staple since I moved to Cambodiatown. This spot has huge entrees at a great price, a super friendly staff, and excellent flavors. If you've already been to a Thai/Lao/Cambodian restaurant or two in Long Beach and you feel like you've seen it all then you should definitely try the Pad Kee Mao or the Panang Curry. Also, the Tom Yum soup cures literally any ailment. Period.
google avatar

Miriah S.

Yelp
This place serves quality food from scratch in a setting that feels like home. Even though it's called Tasty Food To Go, there is some seating outside. I recommend the soup or the pineapple fried rice. The soup is especially good if you like some spice. Allow a little extra time for the food to be prepared as this is actual home style cooking - NOT fast food. That's a good thing, people. You can even talk to the nice folks in front while you wait :)

Yelp
My go-to for Thai in Long Beach. HUGE portions. Prices are amazing. Cash only. Top knotch Thai food that is accessible and affordable. Got the Pad Thai with shrimp and the beef larb. The pad Thai noodles were light and chewy without being oily. Fresh sprouts, shredded carrots, and chopped cashews. The shrimp were plump and delicious. I had 3 different meals out of this and it was $11.75. The larb comes with beef or chicken, I got the beef. This dish is the perfect blend of fatty and acidic with the beef in red chili sauce mixed with generous amounts of mint and fresh lime. Served with a solid wedge of raw cabbage and a container of white rice. Thai comfort food to the extreme. I was in heaven. If you like Thai food you owe it to yourself to eat at Tasty at least once. Pro tip: Bring your cash or use the ATM out front. No credit cards, or other forms of payment.
google avatar

Omar R.

Yelp
Good food. It can be alittle expensive here. It looks like there is a couple tables outside to eat and only street parking. The Tai Tea was good, better than other places.
google avatar

Abbie N.

Yelp
We ordered 2 shrimp egg rolls (it's long and slim egg roll, only contains shrimp), pineapple fried rice, papaya salad with crab added medium spice (perfect), drunken noodles medium spice with shrimp and tofu (love the addition of broccoli), and pad Thai with shrimp. We enjoyed all the dishes but I probably wouldn't order their pineapple fried rice again, it didn't have a strong pineapple taste. But everything else was great and I want to try their other dishes. We called ahead and it was about a 30 min wait for the food. Parking is difficult to come by so we parked at north gate market. While we waited for our food, we killed time at north gate market which was nice.

Yelp
Stumbled across this place on Yelp a few years ago and I had it bookmarked for a day that I was in the area. Today was that day! This is a cash only place, so I scraped up $39.10 for dinner tonight... Guess I'll be back to try the pineapple fried rice, but he told me the Pad Thai was more popular out of the two choices, since I didn't have enough for both.... I knew there was no parking, so you need to find street parking around the corner. I was lucky ... so it was meant to be. Also lucky there was only bird poo-poo on the ground and none dropped on my head on my short walk ... I'm such a visual person, so I did my Yelp homework and scrolled thru the photos. Pad Thai, Crispy Pork with Chinese Broccoli and Beef Larb ended up to be the plan. The owner was very pleasant, told me to have a seat outside and he'd bring me my food. It came out piping hot and he reminded me to carry it from the bottom. The food was good, he gave me two small containers of complimentary white rice. The Pad Thai was similar to most. The crispy pork was delicious, but it's a very small portion. ~8 chunks of pork, at most and no fault of his, but the Chinese broccoli was dead by the time I got home. It's hard to keep "to-go" items fresh and hot while keeping the presentation on point. I'm sure the larb was delicious, but I'm not a fan of tart, so I'll try something else next time. Happy I tried it here. I like to support small, local businesses.

Yelp
Amazing food and great portions. I ordered the pad kee mao with tofu and beef salad with a large Thai tea and I think it was enough to feed 3 people. Also the spice level did not disappoint so I was happy I got the Thai tea. It's cash only and you can all ahead to order for pick up or sit out front on the patio. When I went to pick up the food was hot and ready and such fresh ingredients. I could eat here everyday, it's that delicious!

Elaine E.

Yelp
The food there is delicious and a decent price. Small and takes cash only. They get very busy so it's best to place an order over the phone to pick up. A must try is the papaya salad Lao style from there. It's flavorful, especially leaving it over night for the next day. Mouth watering... They should make a full dine in restaurant. It will be a cool spot to have dinner all the time at.
google avatar

Lheonna T.

Yelp
This place is SO good. I love their pad Thai, Tom kha, and pad se ew. The service is great and never disappoints. The only item that wasn't my favorite that I've tried is the Thai beef jerky. The flavor is so delicious but it's a little more tough than I would like. This place is cash only so be prepared!!
google avatar

Cassius M.

Yelp
Really recommend for a nice evening meal if you want some good cheap Thai food this is the place to go. A mom and pop hole in the wall with delicious spices and flavors. Also the customer service is great . There is also a dining area outside if want to sit and eat .
google avatar

Rom H.

Yelp
My only time to try this place is from the Cambodian restaurant week happened on Sunday March 18th at LBCC. Ordered a papaya salad medium spicy. I can't handle it, too hot for me. It's like a 8 out of 10 spicy. This is a real thai spiceness.
google avatar

Belle C.

Yelp
My go to Thai place. No frills, delicious and piping hot food! Lives up to their name! Parking is street parking only, and around the neighborhood so could be hard to find parking. They are located right across from Northgate. So sad they were closed today even though both the hours posted on Google and Yelp said they were supposed to be open. Will come back next week!
google avatar

Doug V.

Yelp
Tonight, we were craving some soup. I searched and a quaint Cambodian place called 'Tasty Food To Go' popped up. Everything looked great and this is a place I've never tried. So, tonight was the night. When I placed my phone order, the owner explained that every order is made once the order is submitted. Everything we ordered was SO good!! Although parking can be challenging, it was worth the time it took to hunt down a parking spot. I will say, even with a mild heat, these dishes are on the spicy side. So, you've been warned. I'll be trying Tasty Food To Go again, as everything was so fresh and hot!!

Yelp
We got food here a few weeks ago - Long Beach has an amazing amount of Thai food, and we're on a quest to slowly try all of them, or at least all the ones people say are good. Obviously, given the name, we got takeout - one thing that could be improved, for a takeout spot, there isn't really parking. Not sure the strip mall across the street wanted us to park there, especially since they took a little longer than the estimate to have our food ready... but we did anyway, haha. Anyway, generally when we're trying a new Thai place, we split orders of our two favorite noodle dishes, pad se ew and pad ke mao - and if they have reasonably-priced egg rolls, I'll generally try their egg rolls as well. Tasty Food to Go actually has 3 different egg rolls, which I do love that you can mix-and-match (for about a dollar an egg roll). That said, at least the night we ordered, I felt their veggie egg rolls (the traditional egg rolls I'm used to from Thai places) were pretty bland and kinda mushy. The chicken ones (traditional egg roll size and shape, just with chicken) were a lot more flavorful - but the shrimp ones were the winner. I'm picky about shrimp, and theirs were great! Not your traditional egg roll shape, though - they're long and thin, just a shrimp wrapped in crispy dough! Super tasty though! Great dipping sauce, too. As far as the entrees, both were a pretty large amount of food, totally reasonable amount for the price. The pad se ew was legit - perfectly cooked noodles, plenty of meat, plenty of Chinese broccoli, tons of flavor. Great pad se ew. Their pad ke mao recipe, on the other hand, the noodles were cooked right, and there was plenty of meat, but it was just *super* bland. Kind of a weird veggie mix, too - I've never seen baby corn in a pad se ew? Both their meats we tried (chicken and beef) were good, though. (Usually we'd try their pork, but the pork here is the special "crispy pork", so it's an extra $2. I might have to try it at some point, though, if I feel like braving the pickup situation. Definitely wouldn't mind giving them another try.)

Yelp
I look forward to trying more dishes. Been meaning to try this place for years since I get my haircut next door. Ordered the crispy pork stir-fry. The dish was greasier than expected. Yes, I know I ordered pork, so what did I expect? If you order it, I think you'll know what I'm referring to. The rice was delicious. Parking is terrible, but don't hold that against the restaurant. Best thing to do is order ahead. Took about 15 minutes for mine to be ready, but I knew what I was getting myself into. They have some tables to sit outside if you want to enjoy food on the spot.

Yelp
I ordered Pad Thai , the flavor was amazing but the noodles were very mushy. Service was good, the gentleman taking the order was nice and friendly. The Ambiance is not much, it's perfect for to go orders.

Yelp
My go-to spot for Lao / Thai food in the L.B.C. I stopped in today & got soup because it was cold and rainy. Soooo good! I usually get the green papaya salad & / or pad see ew but the soup hit the spot & was exactly what I needed.

Yelp
Hm, maybe it was an off day, but I didn't quite understand the hype for this place. The pricing and quantity is certainly good (about $12 for each dish) and you get a good amount of food, but the food itself was just OK and I don't know if I'd go out of my way to get takeout here again. It's certainly super busy, so there is a bit of a wait (I think 40 minutes or so was what I waited on a Friday eve for takeout). I got the pad thai, pad see ew, and pineapple fried rice. The pad see ew was my favorite of them all, while the noodles in the pad thai and the sauce wasn't my favorite. The pineapple fried rice also didn't have enough pineapple. Medium is also really spicy. I think it's a good budget meal, and maybe the experience was just off for me, but after it I'm not in a huge hurry to come back for more takeout.

Yelp
Excellent good. Great portion for the price ( it's a lot of food) you can share. Customer service excellent. Family owned restaurant. You got to check it out!.

Yelp
The food was great! We ordered over the phone Pad Thai and Pad See Ew and it was made fresh. When we arrived they're still making it. The portion was plenty also so you get your money's worth. The service was great and the staff was friendly. I highly recommend this place! Parking sometimes is a little bit hard to find especially during peak lunch or dinner hours. I highly recommend calling ahead to order to reduce wait times.

Yelp
My go-to comfort Thai food meal! CASH ONLY! I ask my partner to pick up Tasty Food To Go usually on Mondays after a long weekend or Fridays after a long week. As the name states, it is to-go only on a busy street. Also beware, the spice levels here are definitely THAI SPICE. We get the mild and it packs a lot of heat. There are at least 5 smashed Thai chilis that we can pick out. Portions are large and lasts us a couple of meals. Favorites include: Papaya Salad Lao style mild - papaya, green beans, tomato, thai egg plant with the addition of salted crab instead of salted dry shrimp. Tom Ka Gai (Coconut soup) with veggies - lots of veggies, delicious, comforting. Pad Kee Mao with chicken - My partners favorite here, comes spicy. Other notables that are on rotation: Crispy Pork - exactly as the name states on a bed of Chinese broccoli. Nam Tok - marinated beef.. almost a salad. Bursting w/ flavor. Pad Thai with chicken - honestly rarely order pad thai and I think this one is delicious! However, the mild was a little too spicy for me (I know, I'm weak and my ancestors shame me) Pad See Ew - again, just to mix up the carbs. Tom Yum soup - my partners favorite soup, we get it with veggies and is packed with goodness. Tasty Food To Go hits the spot for: comfort, price, consistency, and flavor.

Yelp
A takeout only thai and lao restaurant with no parking lot. Located in Cambodia town with street parking and a parking lot for a Hispanic supermarket across the street. There are only about 20 items on the menu which is posted on the wall. Cash only but they have an atmosphere. Listed as one of the top 100 yelp restaurants in the country 5 years ago! I loved my pad kee Mao. Better than the 3 sit down thai restaurants I have eaten at in long beach. The noodle dish was flavorful, hot, loaded with chicken and vegetables ND the portion was large. Only about $13! I look forward to trying their other menu items.

Yelp
Lived in LB almost my whole life but only until now a grown man I tried this place. Food is legit. I tried many places in LB for Thai food and this place is just as good or better. It's to go order or if you want to eat your take out food on the front patio area. I had the chicken wings delicious, the pad Thai great, the beef jerky was ok, but the highlight for me was the Laotian style papaya salad ( with black crab) Maybe the best papaya salad I had ever, If you want to cry good tears I dare you to go extra spicy lol Portion is good and price is reasonable for so cal standards. I will come back for more items

Yelp
Feeling under the weather and been a long work week. Was craving Thai cuisine some place new for the ones near me are just ok. With the power of Reddit and Google found this special gem of a place. Was my first time there and the owners were so nice and helpful. I ordered the pad Thai / Tom Yum / Jerky Beef / Crispy Pork. I was lucky and got there when it wasn't too busy. Took around 20 minutes to get the fresh nomz. Gosh this place is a winner! All the dishes were cooked to perfection and overall really tasty! My taste palettes were dancing to the spices and bursting flavors. Found my new go to TLDR: looking for something new? Come check it out. Your taste buds will thank you S/O to Khels sorry if I spelled it wrong! Thanks for the pleasant first time experience!

Yelp
This hole in the wall is what you're looking for. I only ordered the pad see ew for my first time but as soon as I can, I'll be back for more. The spice level definitely has a kick with the fresh Thai peppers added to it (I got medium and I have an appropriate amount of sweat), the noodles tasted fresh and flavorful. The fried tofu I got with the noodles were also perfect. I loved that as I waited on my food I could watch them cook it in front of me. It is cash only and there are a few tables for outdoor seating. There are no parking spaces but there are residential streets you can find parking on. I went on a Monday at 12PM and they didn't seem very busy.

Yelp
***WARNING... EXPLICIT CONTENT*** This place is so fucking delicious man... I mean every time I come here I am so pleased with what I eat. I usually get the green curry or the lad nar (no protein and extra broccoli or shrimp) and I feel joy with EVERY FUCKING BITE. Family owned business. I usually interact with their daughter when I am there and she is not only helping run a delicious place but she also has her finger on the pulse of many delicious recommendations in LA. If you're specifically looking to support female owned businesses, ask her for recommendations when you stop in, cos she is in the know! Do not get it twisted... this is one of the best Laotian Thai restaurants in all of LA County in my opinion. If you stop by, there's only a few counter stools inside and there are concrete tables and benches outside. It's usually CASH only but she may let you venmo or cash app in a pinch but usually CASH ONLY. If you're disappointed eating here, your tastebuds might be broken.

Yelp
Despite being a take-out place, Tasty Food To Go is one of the best Thai restaurants in the area. To add even more confusion to the name, the preparation of the food takes anywhere from thirty minutes to nearly an hour. If you are prepared to call ahead of time and eagerly wait, your patience will be rewarded with great food.

Yelp
Food, service, ambiance, jokes, wisdom. This oasis of delicious Thai / Laos food is like the best of all worlds. Every time I come the food hits! The prices are fair and there is so much love and wisdom in the cooking. If you see Uncle Lam, who owns the barber shop next door, say Hi. He may change your life, hella casually though. Lol. Yes this place is a MUST if you are in the mood for food. Just be prepared it may take slightly longer to make because everything is made to order from the OG's in the kitchen. 100% best Thai food in Long Beach.

Yelp
This place truly is tasty! The portions are VERY large, (we make 2 days meals out of every dish). They are busy in the evening so if you plan to eat there you should call your order in before you get there as the wait is usually 30 minutes. The flavors are good and the quality is decent, but the portions are big so if you're on a budget this place is great for leftovers
