Tasty Szechuan

Tasty Szechuan in Concord is an excellent spot for flavorful and authentic food. The variety on the menu is amazing, and everything we tried was delicious. My favorite dish was the dry pot, which had great spice and depth of flavor, while the fried chicken was very unique and worth ordering again. I also highly recommend the green beans and eggplant, both cooked perfectly. The interior is clean and modern, giving the restaurant a nice, comfortable feel. Service was a little slow, but it was understandable since they were busy. Overall, a great experience and an easy five stars.

Pretty decent Szechuan-style restaurant with the options of American-Chinese. Very friendly staff and a vibe of family-owned business. The "water-boiled fish" was delicious with great portion and the seasoning was on the spot. The"dried hot pot", on the other hand, was being outshined. The pork ribs taste like they came straight out from the freezer and cooked in a pressure cooker, with no base seasoning to cover the hint of the freezer smell, and soulless texture of the meat. The intestine could use some more cleaning to get rid of the unpleasant taste. And the beef, and altogether the whole pot, were over-powered with cumin. I ended up rinsing them in the water boiled fish broth to make them taste ok. With the excellent reviews here, I came in with high expectation. Not only the food was 50% disappointing, the tables were also cramped. That being said, I'd give them the benefit of doubt, especially with the hospitable service, and hence the 4 stars. It could be a passable Chinese restaurant if you live nearby, and if you're not chasing for authenticity.

Authentic and delicious schezchuan foods. Plus hot tea while waiting. The restaurant is spacious and clean. I always order DoorDash food and this I did check em out! Highly recommended!!

Wow the food was absolutely delicious. We usually go to Z&Y and Chengdu (Berkeley) but this spot was phenomenal and more flavorful.

I love to see restaurants busy even during the week. This place is very good. I’m excited to try more of the menu.

Phenomenal and Authentic. Every dish unique and so tasty ~ The flavors were amazing! Loved the cucumber salad. The watermelon juice was delicious! Comfortable, cozy atmosphere and friendly and service! Lovely!

Food was good, as were the portions. Service was terrible. Called in an order and received a text saying it would be ready for pick up at 6:30pm. Got there at 6:30 and waited in a very large crowd. Servers were brisk and rude. Order was handed to me at 7:40pm!!

This place is really nice! They give you free tea in this nice teapot and free peanuts too and I actually don’t see many restaurants doing this. The place is clean. The food is fresh and delicious. I honestly was not expecting much but definitely exceeded my expectations! Will definitely be coming back here again soon

Location is in a strip mall so lots of parking. Costumer service is above and beyond. They are so friendly here. The restaurant is clean and inviting. The menu was huge! We ordered so much food for our party of 8. Everything was fabulous. My favorites were: the salt pepper fish filet- the fish was so fresh and flakey and not greasy at all. Fantastic! The Szechuan chicken was to die for! This was everyone's favorite dish. It had the perfect amount of spice and the chicken was cooked perfectly. I also loved the American-Chinese options of orange chicken and general Cho's chicken. The kung pao shrimp was perfect as well! The shrimp was cooked perfectly and I loved the contrast to the crisp bell pepper. We also enjoyed the soup dumplings, fried rice, chow mein, orange tofu, a scallion pancakes, and dry fried green beans (which had a lovely ginger kick to them). All the dishes tasted fresh and the flavors were on point. This is my go to Chinese restaurant now in our area. You got to come try this place!

Parking: its in a plaza so plenty of parking. Seating: we came around 2pm and we were seated fairly quickly. Service: excellent service. From the staff taking our order, to checking in with us and even to checking out. They were so kind and even packaged our food to go for us. Food: incredible taste. We had the sweet and sour chicken as well and their sweet and sour ribs, veggie chowmein and some beef dumplings. Everything came in a pretty big portion and was delicious. Overall, amazing service for delicious food. Completely worth the visit.

Been a regular at Tasty Szechuan, especially for dinner, and it can definitely bring the heat and numbing spice, but also has a variety of dishes to enjoy even if spicy food isn't your thing. Located between a Little Caesar's Pizza and an international Mediterranean market, it can be easy to miss off Treat Blvd, but that would be a mistake. Tasty Szechuan does a pretty brisk takeout business but we really like eating in to enjoy the food at its freshest. We have always experienced friendly service here with our cups of cold water flavored with lemon and hot tea kept full. The seating arrangements can be a little tight with a mix of booths and tables, but they make it work. The decor feels more like the 80's but the place is clean and they have signs up about the various dishes they offer. PROs: - Spicy Szechuan dishes can really be spicy if you want it which is great - Mapo tofu had great flavor and kick - Sautéed bok choy with black mushrooms isn't spicy but cooked really well and consistently each time - Silken tofu with crab roe was a creamy surprise and terrific over rice - Beef tendon noodle soup included tender beef pieces, hearty broth and noodles with a good chew - Steamed soup dumplings which were flavorful and had a good dough - Various boiled dumplings Dishes that were less of a standout for our palate were the orange chicken (which is a favorite of some in our family but I found to be too sweet), the crab-fried rice where the crab didn't really stand out, and the wonton with chili oil (great chili oil but the wontons were not as flavorful as we expected). Overall, we are still exploring the large menu and can't wait to get back again soon!

Restaurant is very clean and quiet, they have free parking, and the dishes that we ordered are very delicious, service is pretty good

The first time we ordered from here was about a year ago and the cold noodles and cucumber salad were on point! We loved it so much we kept ordering those 2 things but over the last few orders, the quality has declined. The noodles were super spicy despite we asked for very mild spice and the cucumber was kinda mushy and wilted, the peanuts were no longer crispy. Sadly we may no longer order from them unless they improve their quality.

Mom and I came here for lunch just by chance and we were blown away! The service was outstanding! Sylvona was fantastic, as was the young man working along side her but I didn't catch his name. The vibe was so easy breezy in there, mom and I just chatted away. The food was extremely tasty as well. We both had honey walnut prawns. It tasted amazing. We also had pot stickers. You could taste the freshness of the food. They boxed our food for us so neatly afterwards. The entire experience was 5 stars. I really dig the cups they serve the water in and it came with a lemon!!;) Next time mom and I agreed to be more adventurous with our orders. The rest of the menu looks delicious. Don't you love leaving a restaurant now a days feeling like it was money well spent? We will definitely be back.

I have no known food allergies, so if I'm eating a meal and my tongue starts tingling and my lips get slightly numb, then I'm probably eating yummy szechuan cuisine. Tasty Szechuan delivers the experience perfectly! This isn't the nearest szechuan food to me, nor is it the cheapest, but I find myself opting for this choice over others because it Tasty Szechuan is consistently great. Mapo Tofu and Eggplant String Beans are my go-to dishes, and they never disappoint. The service is very friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. Plenty of parking in the large lot, and lots of seating inside.

Aug 24, 2025 2 pm Solid four stars We went here for a family lunch. A few observations. One male waiter talks to fast when repeating our order. This may have caused some confusion. A woman comes over ten minutes later to tell us "Sorry, we are out of Dancing Prawns." We told her we hadn't ordered Dancing Prawns. She said "Oh good, you didn't order Dancing Prawns." The Walnut Prawns we ordered were brought out much too early. Better if they were timed closer to our other items. They forgot to bring us our cola.. To the young waitress. You are charming and attentive but perhaps look up what Sichuan peppers are and how they make for a numbing mouth sensation. We had to fact check you. There are two Choose Your Own Gender bathrooms. The one I used was clean but I had to wrestle with the towel dispenser. It is unclear if it is supposed to be motion activated or not. Some noisy man from Oakland seemed to have stopped by just for a glass of water and to chat up the charming waitress. Seemed to go on for about 30 minutes. I would ask my employees to discourage that. The food was satisfying. Nothing overly impressive but it was a solid Good. I felt the price was fare. The place looks clean and organized. (Organized but for that Dancing Prawn thing.)

A solid Szechuan experience with that characteristic mouth numbing spice. The decor inside is super cute including the stuffed pandas that greet you and it's quite spacious so I don't expect too much of a wait even on a weekend at dinner. The staff is really friendly and helped make some recommendations for us on the menu too. The dishes are large and there's definitely going to be enough for leftovers. All in all, a great spot to come for lunch.

Glad to have a tasty Asian spot near the house. It's mostly westernized Chinese food but has other Asian influences in some dishes. (I'm not aware of what those are so I don't want to generalize.) We went on a Friday night and it was BUSY! Very casual spot and food comes out as it's ready. Very flavorful and fresh. We had the fried egg rolls, lo mein type of noodle dish, fried rice, and something with beef. This will definitely be my go-to for Chinese food.

Holy one of the best Szechuan spots in the Bay Area and rivals China Village in Albany. The service was amazing and all the servers were super friendly and offering recommendations when needed. As for the food, the food was the highlight. It had just enough spice to get the tongue going, but still managed to be so so flavorful. When I am in the area or craving szcheuan, l'll def make sure to come back here!

Came here on a Thursday afternoon and there were lots of seats available. The restaurant was bright and very clean. There were also plenty of parking available. The staff was friendly and checked on me several times. The staff also asked if I needed an extra bowl to eat with. I ordered the boiled fish fillet which was very good. It was not too spicy for me since I can eat very spicy. I wish the spare ribs with cumin could be more salty. It was crispy and only missing the salt flavor. A bowl of Rice cost $1.50. I would come back next time and order the same dishes again.

I am so glad something like this opened up near me! I love my Chinese spicy numbing spice food and this place did not disappoint. The place is not too small and roomy and we went on a Friday night 7:30pm with no wait. The service was very attentive and quick. We ordered the scallion pancakes, dried fried green beans (not spicy), cumin lamb, spicy chicken wing, fish fillet in chili oil and of course steamed rice with it. This was perfect for four people. Everything that is spicy was a good amount of spice. My favorite is the fish - so soft and the chili oil sauce is flavorful on rice. Second would be the chicken wings, so crispy! Just beware there are bones but that's what makes them moist and tender. Cumin lamb is an honorable mention as well. I cannot wait to come back to try other things on the menu!

We were craving spicy Chinese food and this place did not disappoint. We ordered the fish with chili oil, chicken wings, green beans, and scallion pancake. The food was amazing. It was flavorful and tasted like chilies. Will definitely come back again. Lots of parking and space inside to sit.

My review of Tasty Szechuan is long overdue. We have enjoyed dinner here several times over the past 10 months. Very tasty food. Friendly people. Decent location that is close to our home. While we like to try new things, DH and I will probably never order something like Gluttonous Bullfrogs. Too much for our Western tastes. But on our first visit I was adventurous enough to order the Special XinJiang Style Chicken with Noodles even though I had no clear idea what it was. Surely I would like chicken and noodles. First of all it was a huge portion and served in a casserole-style dish. Guess that why it is also known as Big Plate. In addition to noodles, it had potatoes which I don't associate with Chinese cooking. The chicken was unboned and essentially hacked into small pieces. Flavorful but a little hard to eat. Plenty to take home. I later read more about this dish and learned it was originally served to truck drivers on the highways of XinJiang. While I would probably never order it again, I'm glad I tried it. As a pre-entree, we've enjoyed both the Pan-fried Pot Stickers and Hot and Sour Soup. IMO the soup is some of the best in the Concord area. The first couple of visits, we avoided the Chinese American section of the menu, but admit on recent visits we have ordered a few of our favorites from that part of the menu. A new dish on our last visit was Dancing Shrimp. DH saw it online, but did not see it on the menu when we sat down. Then I looked up and saw a small poster advertising four new dishes including Dancing Shrimp. Twelve good-sized shrimp were topped with minced garlic and served on a bed of glass noodles. Try it! We are glad we did. Tasty Szechuan seems to have a very thriving takeout business, although we prefer to dine in. Plenty of booths and tables. Soothing colors and nice dishware. A small dish of Spanish peanuts and hot tea always arrive at the table shortly after we are seated. Forks are almost always offered, but we prefer chopsticks even it we struggle with some foods. I am still waiting for Tasty to have a liquor license. While hot tea is fine, sometimes I like a beer with spicy food. If you have a friend whose idea of Chinese food is Panda Express, don't bring them to Tasty Szechuan. Or maybe you should bring them ... and introduce them to some of the best Chinese food in Concord!

The staff was so genuine, friendly and had amazing service skills. The food was ridiculously yummy I am kinda bummed we don't live closer! Highly recommend!

TASTY! I definitely recommend. Glad to see more Szechuan style Chinese food in Concord. This place has a family feel to it and everyone was very friendly. It's off of Clayton and Treat in a large shopping center so it has plenty of parking. I order the spicy fried chicken, shrimp chow fun, and minced meat with chives. Everything was so good. I would love to go back and try the spicy fried pork intestines they looked so good.

Highly recommend checking them out if you are in the area and want some good Chinese food. Modernly decorated and very clean establishment. Staff were very friendly and attentive they made sure we had everything we needed. When you sit down they even bring out complimentary tea and peanuts. The peanuts are addicting. We ordered the sliced beef in chili oil and the beef chow fun. The beef in chili oil was perfectly spicy and compliments the cabbage and bean sprouts in the dish. I also recommend the chow fun, similar to chow mein but with a wide ribbon noodle. We will be going by again to try more from their menu!

The service was amazing here and the restaurant itself is very nice. However, the food was not the best. The noodles were not very flavorful along with the beef and green beans. I would only recommend their walnut prawns which were very flavorful and tasty.

This place is soooo tasty I can't wait to go there again. They are so nice and welcoming soon as we walked in. There is nooo complaints from me. The ambiance is creative, I love it.

I've been to Tasty Szechuan twice and each time the food and service was wonderful. If you enjoy spice this is definitely a must. First time I ordered Mongolian beef and it was delicious. Second time shredded spicy pork, nice heat but not overwhelming. I try to dine here about once every 2 to 3 months. You will not be disappointed. Lastly nice portions so easily the dishes can be shared.

Moving to the bay, I'm so happy to find a good Szechuan place nearby! The food was really good! The eggplant was full of flavor! The Mala Xiang guo was pretty good as well, for the buck it's definitely worth ordering! For around $20, you can order up to 3 meats and 3 veggies! The pig ear salad was one of our favorite dishes here! Definitely worth coming back! However, I noticed that the restaurant was a bit dirty. There were pieces of food on the ground. Hopefully, that issue can be addressed soon! Otherwise, I would come back! For all three dishes, the bill came out to around $56!

Solid 4.5 restaurant. Great service, friendly staff. Super tasty food. The shrimp & pork sioma was something we never had before and it was delicious. Asked for the Schezuan Beef to be made mild and they nailed it. We really enjoyed the pot stickers as well. We will be back to try some more dishes!

My family and I love Tasty Szechuan. Every dish we have tried has been delicious. My dad is not normally someone who will express how much he enjoyed a restaurant but on the rare occasions where he has, Tasty Szechuan was one of them. Their menu is extensive but each dish is flavored perfectly. I really like their boiled fish with pickles, chili fried chicken, garlic eggplant, and mapo tofu. But I have to say their honey walnut prawns is hands down the best I've ever had, something about their sauce makes it superior to all others. Not only is the food consistent but so is the service. Their staff is friendly and gave us freshly fried sesame balls as dessert at the end of our meal.

Tasty Szechwan serves up some solid Chinese food, but there are a few things that could be improved. The dishes I've tried have been tasty, but the portions are on the smaller side for the price. It feels a little overpriced given the serving sizes, which left me wanting more. The ambience is nothing special--kind of feels like a cafeteria setting, so it's not the best place for a cozy, sit-down meal. That said, the service has always been friendly and the servers are nice, which adds a positive touch to the experience. One thing I'd love to see is a larger variety of dumpling and noodle options on the menu. Overall, it's a decent spot for a quick bite, but I'm hoping they can improve on value and menu variety.

Great Szechuan spot in the area. I've had them togo, dine-in, more szechuan regional dishes, and more Chinese American dishes. Their deep fried intestines are a fan favorite, though I do find them to have that slightly grimy intestine taste. Not my fav imo but love the flavors aside from that. The kao yu or spicy grilled fish is delicious. Giant portion that can easily feed a family of four alone with just rice. Plenty of veg and well seasoned. So delicate that I assumed it was braised. The honey walnut prawns and chicken fried rice are lovely as well. The green beans do seem very ginger forward which can be unexpected. Staff is friendly as well and food is relatively quick.

I tried this restaurant when they first open and it was okay . My favorite thing was chow mein combination. I tried again and the chown mein was awful no flavor and alot oil all over . barely 3 shrimp and way expensive than other places I wouldn't recommend this place for someone whose knowns real Chinese food this is not your place to go !

Great service, excellent turn around time for food and freshly served with great tastes. First time going and will return. They also have super cute pandas on a table

I was hungry and wanted something different but didn't know exactly what and the nice lady at the counter helped me find something I would like and was super patient with me and kind she treated me like royalty because it was my first time there even though I asked for to go she came out while I was waiting and served me some tea and peanuts and some soup she's amazing! Had the biggest smile on her face made me forget all my troubles. Also the food was hot and fresh. 5 stars.

Ordered take-away again today. Their hot & sour soup (vegetarian by request) hits the spot for these cold weather, I like ordering from their website and the kind ladies at the restaurant told me they can also make Fried Chili fish instead of chicken on menu. I love that they accommodate special requests. If you're seeking authentic Szechuan food, this is the place. I am so happy I live nearby. :)

A bustling, new (at least to me), yummy option for Chinese and Chinese American food in the area! My first visit to Tasty Szechuan (aka Tasty Szechuan Noodles) was on a Saturday evening and while my party of 4 did not have to wait, tables were pretty full and remained that way for the duration of dinnertime. The restaurant was bright and decorated. Service was fairly attentive, with waitresses checking in on us throughout the meal. We ordered: - Wontons in chili oil (3/5): good meat flavor in wontons but chili oil a bit diluted - Deep Fried chitterlings with peppers (4/5): great crunch and chew even for the shy eater - Fish in hot chili broth (4.5/5): great spice, addition of napa and bean sprouts were delicious. Get rice to pair with though! - sauteed eggplant and green beans (4/5) good flavor and texture despite two unlike veggies in one dish - mapo tofu (4/5) yum! Spicy though and red I'd like to come back and try more dishes. They also have a great lunch special on Chinese-American dishes, although normal prices are reasonable too.

Finally got to try this place after hearing high praise from friends. Can we say spicy and authentic??? This is real Sichuan cuisine so come prepared for flavor. But the chili and peppercorns does not overwhelm the flavor. The fish was so tender and delicious. The lotus sweetness still came thru.The beef and short ribs melted in your mouth. You can order via QR code or with the server. The tea was hot. The dining room was light and modern. The service was friendly and quick. Parking is easy in the shopping center. Can't wait to try more.

Fridge was completely empty. Wanted to have Chinese food for takeout and settled on Tasty Szechuan. Our online order was fulfilled in around 25 minutes. Steamed Sole Fillets with Tofu and Chilies (剁椒鱼片) was pipping hot when we unwrapped it: meticulously cling-wrapped and covered by aluminium foil, beautifully laid out in a large aluminium pan. The fillets (swai) were shiny, with smooth texture, not too salty and had a great mouthfeel especially when paired with dashes of chili/bean paste (no ma) toppings. The gravy/sauce was neutral tasting, quite oily. Tofu underneath the fish was soft (not the silky variety). Enjoyed napa cabbage slices underneath as well. Would have preferred the dish to have more spice elements to it. Salt Pepper fish fillet (with plenty of garlic) was good sized, but lacked crispness (can be rectified with a stint in oven). The staffs (and owner) were very friendly during pickup and reminded me to be careful with the liquid in the container.

Located off of Treat, right around the corner before it turns into Clayton, you can find Tasty Sichuan. If you want an easy to find landmark, just look for Starbucks at the intersection of Treat and Clayton, and you'll be able to track down this spot. The place is decently sized, at the place itself isn't huge, but the way it's laid out, there's plenty of tables inside for seating. The service at the spot was just okay overall. It wasn't bad, but for a restaurant that just opened, and nobody was inside, they really weren't all that attentive to the people who were sitting down, even when there weren't any to-go orders coming in. Had to go out of our way to walk up to the counter at one point to flag someone down having sat down for a good 5 minutes after getting the menu, but it happens, so I'll overlook it this time. The menu they have is, not quite the selection I had hoped for, but they do have most of the general stuff there, so it's fine. The pricing is, just okay, but comparable to the other Sichuan spots around. One thing I do wish they had was an actual lunch menu, for their Sichuan dishes, or some combination of them. They do have a "lunch" menu, but it's under their Chinese American section, which is what we decided to try today because, how can anyone mess this up right? We tried out two things, the honey walnut prawns, and the kung pao chicken. The honey walnut prawns were alright, nothing special, and you don't get a whole lot of shrimp from the order. The kung pao chicken was...really weird. It wasn't really kung pao chicken as the sauce they used was really sweet, and mixed with the ginger, it kind of gave off a really bitter taste profile when combined together. The spiciness from the kung pao wasn't right either, and just ended up eating a very pasty chicken dish that wasn't very good. I don't know, perhaps trying their Sichuan stuff next time may get me a better idea of the kind of food they serve, but if they can't even get the simplest dishes such as kung pao chicken right, and they already look down on these dishes clearly by stating they're "Chinese American" dishes, which they can't even get that right, I'm a bit hard pressed to believe how spot on the rest of the stuff will be, but may give a try again in the future, though, there's so many more dumpling and noodle, but I guess you could still come here for the Sichuan stuff since there's still just a handful of those around, though, there is one down Treat in Countrywood too if you want other options. Not a great first impression I guess, but hey, I'm optimistic next time will be better.

I had always been ordering Tasty Szechuan from the delivery apps and loved their Potstickers and the Kung Pao Chicken. I had always seen where the restaurant was located and finally had a chance to dine in the restaurant in Concord location. The place looks larger inside than from looking from the outside. We slid into a booth with a party of 4 and we were greeted with Hot tea. The lady who greeted us actually works at both locations and recognized the family. Apparently the family picks up take out at the Pacheco location quite a bit. We had ordered a lot of food and all of it was really good. My favorite was the Orange Chicken but that Veggie Chowmein comes in to a close 2nd. We had ordered Tofu , Chicken Fried Rice, Pot Stickers, and Spring Egg rolls. Those roasted Peanuts they serve as an appetizer are also very good and they give you more if you ask for them. We will go back for more of their menu items when we are craving Chinese food.

I use DoorDash because I don't drive and first time I got wrong order but after tasting the mistake it is now my go to and love everything about it except for DoorDash pricing but will continue to order as this is the best in town over all else! love tasty Szechuan!

On this Saturday, we gathered for a large family lunch. We walked into a super clean Chinese restaurant that even had a clean restroom! I love that they were able to accommodate our party of 18 people with huge appetites. The seats are pretty comfy as they are padded for your comfort. At first, my toddler sat in one chair until they brought him a highchair; the highchair wasn't as comfortable as the adult chair, so we switched back to the comfy chair. I didn't get a chance to take photos of all the food because everyone was so hungry that the boys at our table just started eating. I asked the owner, Scott, which were his top three favorite dishes. Three of the dishes that he chose were already on our table as we ordered the chicken wings, the won ton with chili oil, and the walnut shrimp. He was super nice! The customer service was amazing!! My favorite dishes were the xlb's with the fresh filling where the quality can be tasted! The won ton with chili oil is a must have!! Next time, we want to try the cucumber salad. We ordered four tables full of entrees, and were too full to try more.

We've been eating take out from Tastys every Sunday for the last year and a few random week-days. The food is delicious! It is clean. We always order the egg rolls which are nice and light along with the Honey Walnut Prawns Lunch Special that they run well into the afternoon. They are crispy and we always request no walnuts since I am allergic to nuts. They have never once made a mistake regarding the nuts. We order the wontons in chili oil and the vegetarian chow mein. I think no matter what you order you would be happy. I would highly recommend Tasty Szechuan. It is a small stand alone restaurant with a few booths and a couple of tables.

I ordered a soup and it was good. Although for the price I would have liked more meat. The pork buns were great. They tasted very fresh. Good customer service. I was able to call and pick up. I enjoyed both. The soup was huge, definetly to share.

First time visit, ordered a couple of items for takeout. The staff were friendly. The food was mediocre at best. The siu mai dumplings had a grainy texture and little flavor. The garlic crab fried rice had very little crab and strong off-garlic flavor that overpowered the crab anyway. For the price and food quality I won't bother to try them again.

Updated review: In general the food was still good but we experienced some inconsistency with the way the food was cooked this time around compared to the last time we visited this restaurant. - Dry Hot Pot with fatty beef, beef slices, pork belly, lotus root, king oyster mushroom, and baby bok choy: delicious and hearty meal with a good balance of meat and veggies. I absolutely loved the lotus root which was crunchy, and hated the way they cut and sliced the mushroom into super tiny pieces. I loved the beef but couldn't find the pork belly for the life of me. I'd order this again though. - Cumin Lamb: while the flavor was spot on, the lamb was unfortunately tough :( but I loved how the cumin came through really well. - Sliced Beef In Hot Chili Oil: not the best. The broth was overly thickened with starch making it slimy and snotty, even though the flavor was pretty good. I would not order this again. - Special XinJiang Style Chicken W Noodles: we loved it during our first visit but the second time we tried it they way overcooked the noodles, and the chicken didn't get a chance to absorb all the good Szechuan ma la flavor. We were a bit disappointed, but we did like the fact they switched the chicken up to boneless this time. - Steamed rice: horribly overcooked :( super mushy borderline porridge-like consistency.

I'm new to Concord, but I've been to this place about 5-6 times in the past few months. The food is gas. Everything is extremely flavorful. The cumin lamb is an absolute standout and the fresh watermelon juice is also a delight. The Pacheco location is also dynamite. The service is extremely friendly and attentive as well.

Service is friendly and food is delicious. I've only ordered from the American Chinese potion of the menu so far, but looking forward to trying the noodles. Last time they gave me a small bowl of pickled vegetables with my meal which was very tasty!!

They're a new business & have a long way to go to be successful. It was my first time here as it's reviewed well on Yelp. I decided to take my mom out for lunch and when we arrived, the staff was sitting at a table by the door & shoo'd us off to find a seat. They did not get up to greet us nor did they show us to our seats. There was only two other tables being occupied in the restaurant. No one checked on us at our table for about 6-10 minutes after we sat down. We were sitting there ready to order for about 5 minutes, then we saw there was a sign on the table with a QR code to order on your phone. When we put our order in miraculously one of the staff members greeted us at the table, & gave us hot tea with peanuts. It was a confusing experience, as a new restaurant it should be expected to greet your customers and make sure they are comfortable by informing them the option to order via phone or by waitress. Nevertheless, the appetizer arrived after about 5 minutes which is pretty good timing. Yet, lo & behold it wasn't what I ordered. I selected the "scallion pancake" which is the green onion high rise pancake that is pictured on yelp, but what arrived was a flatbread version. I told the waitress this is not what I ordered and showed her the picture on my yelp app, she said it's not listed on the QR code menu & I should have ordered with her in person, then tried to convince me this version of the pancake was good too & then proceeded to stare at me. I told her once again, this is not what I want and slightly pushed the plate away to show I was not going to eat it. Instead of correcting the error, she just walked away. Next our main entrees arrived. We ordered the stir-fried cabbage, wonton soup, and veggie fried rice. The only item that was acceptable was the veggie fried rice. The Stir-fried cabbage was way too spicy, & I love spice, there was no flavor. I couldn't even finish it if I wanted to. The wonton soup wasn't fresh, the filling had an off taste about it. While we were eating the rice, I noticed a party come in who happened to be our white counterparts, the staff was still sitting by the table laughing and chatting but when they seen them come in one waitress immediately got up from their chair and showed them to a seat instead of shooing them off. That was odd. After our meal arrived, not ONCE were we checked on by any staff members or waitresses. I was appalled, that is standard service to check on the table to see if they need any more assistance after their meal has been delivered. To make matters worse, we were in a rush and couldn't even get a hold of the waitress to get a box for the leftover rice. I didn't even get eye contact to wave them over to help us checkout, I had to get up and go to the counter to get even noticed. This was the worst experience Ive had at an eatery in a long time.

My first time to eat here with my family. It was the best food and service was excellent, and ambiancy. Would be definitely coming for 25th wedding anniversary!!!
