King Street Oyster Bar and Tatte Bakery Expand to Northwest D.C. | Eater DC

"Moving into a 3,100-square-foot spot this summer, Tatte Bakery — the quick-expanding Boston import with an Israeli-leaning menu that first arrived in D.C. in 2020 — will open its sixth metro D.C. location offering all-day dining, weekend brunch, coffee, and a separate gluten-free menu; Tatte is also opening a location in Foggy Bottom." - Stephanie Carter

I had a terrible experience at this business and I do not recommend you spend your money here. This restaurant is deceptive as it appears to be an elevated cafe experience but it operates like a greasy spoon diner. A nagging desire for capuccino and a sweet pastry led me to Tatte. The cashier was pleasant and rapidly served my slice of carrot cake. I informed the cashier that I planned to dine-in. However, I was only given a fork and a plate. I had to ask for a napkin. The cashier mumbled something and pointed towards the far corner of the pastry display case. I was instructed to get the napkins myself. I sat down and waited for 10 minutes or more. It took so long to get my coffee that I finished the cake without a hot beverage. That delay ruined my experience. After looking around the cafe, I noticed that while it was fancy and spacious there was only one coffee station operated by one barista. No wonder service was slow! When my cappuccino finally arrived, the server provided me a cup and saucer without a spoon or stirrer! So, I had to get up, again, to search for a spoon. That was absolutely disruptive and negligent. Moreover, these oversights undermined the sophisticated ambiance and dine-in experience the owners want you to believe you will have. Worst of all, the coffee lacked complexity, so the coffee flavor profile was flat. A waste of my time, money, and expectations. Clearly, this cafe is punching above its weight. I give it an “A” for being aspirational, but it gets an “L” for loss of credibility because it uses decor and product placement to distract consumers from its inefficiencies. Fifteen dollars for a cup of coffee and a slice of cake (not to be consumed at the same time) is an excessive price for a pedestrian experience. Don’t waste your money or time at this cat fish of a cafe.

I’m torn about the review. I’m not personally too impressed here but the food is not bad. There’s no clear indication of where the line starts or end. When it gets busy, the customers are basically on their own. The staff have very limited care. Duck hash meat was a little overcooked to me, husband likes it a lot. Sandwiches with croissant was good. Tried the Pistachio latte, the pistachio paste is very thick. Great as a dessert, very filling. We ordered some pastry to go. A guy tried to put our things in a paper bag, he tried a few ones and decided to not put our stuff in a bag in the end. Before they handed us our order(a box and two bags), one of the bag with cookies fell on the floor. I saw it from a distance (they didn’t think anyone saw it) and waiting to see what they’ll do. They did nothing, just called my name and handed everything to me loose without a bag.

I visited The Tatte Bakery in Washington, DC, and had an amazing breakfast. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made the experience truly enjoyable. Thank you so much for a wonderful visit — I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
Stopped by Tatte Bakery and tried their special Honey Baklava Latte, breakfast, and the Pistachio Croissant. The croissant was absolutely amazing — buttery, flaky, and full of pistachio flavor! The latte was nice and unique, though I wish it had just a bit more of that baklava sweetness. Overall, a lovely spot for breakfast or coffee — cozy vibe and delicious treats.

Google
Such a lovely, consistent coffee house and bakery experience. The environment and aesthetics are nice and relaxing, the food selection for pastries, sweets and meals are great. Love the new summer tea choices along with their tried and true coffee choices. Prices for drinks are similar to Starbucks, but with a more elevated and welcoming experience.

Good ambience. One of the best café latte I ever had!! We tried Smoked Salmon and Avocado Tartine. The sourdough was too toasted to hurt my mouth; everything else was good.

Food: 5 out of 5 Service: 4.5 out of 5 Atmosphere: 5 out of 5 Price/Value: 4.5 out of 5 Overall: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.75 out of 5 Recommendations: Smoked Salmon, Avocado, & Egg Sandwich, Almond Croissant, Tiramisu, Black Sesame Latte I’m so grateful of Tatte’s existence in D.C. It is the reason why I love brunch and why brunch deserves to be loved by everyone. They have an expansive menu of brunch items, and everything is so good. I had the best salmon and egg sandwich in my entire life here. The almond croissant and tiramisu are also top-tier. I had to get the back sesame latte because where else can you get that? This is easily my favorite brunch spot, and I hope I will have a chance to come back again!

Google
IMPRESSIVE! Stopped in here for a colleague to grab coffee while in DC. The fresh baked breads and cupcakes and cookies looked amazing. We were in and out quickly and the staff was friendly.

Yelp
We ate at this Tatte Bakery by mistake. I was tired and tapped on this one on the map instead of the one near Farragut Square. We laughed and figured we could try a different location to see if they are the same or not. For the most part, they are the same quality food but the service is definitely different at this location. The staff we encountered were very nice and they were trying so hard to get things right. It wasn't just us that were getting our orders correct from the start, but it wasn't for a lack of effort. It only added a few minutes and a little patience went a long way towards getting it all sorted out. We ended up not getting our drinks and we were given an incorrect pastry. Once we had the right drinks and the correct pastry things were pretty good. My wife has fallen in love with the passion fruit krembo and I agree, it was really good. The breakfast sandwich was great and a nice change from pastries every morning. I really need it and it didn't disappoint. We really enjoyed our visit to this Tatte Bakery & Cafe and would happily come back.

Yelp
Tatte seems to be one of those hypes, and this location further confirms this. All locations serve the same menu of an all-day breakfast, soups, salads, quiche, shakshuka, sandwiches, plates, and bowls. We had a large group order from here, and it was a disaster. I ordered the Short Rib Grilled Cheese, which was described as one of their most popular items - I opted for the sourdough instead of the challah, and it was supposedly filled with braised short rib, aged cheddar, and a horseradish beet relish - the bread was dry, there was hardly any beef, the braised ribs were dried out and had no flavor, not sure where the cheese was, and it seemed to be mostly chopped up beets, as there was no hint of horseradish. The sandwich was poorly prepared with poor ingredients, and this was tossed after having the bite spat out. I also ordered a Cheese Boureka, and this was missing. My other counterparts were missing their sides, their pastries, and/or their breads/rolls that accompanied their entrees. How hard is it to just go through to ensure that all the items are included and accurate? How is this a bakery if the breads are not even right? It seems that these are continuous issues for this place, and they still have not addressed any of it. Super disappointing, and such a waste. +inaccurate items +missing items +ill-prepared items +low quality ingredients +stale, dry breads

Yelp
I think this Tatte location is on the newer side. It's very modern, very spacious and probably a spot where a lot of GW students would go to get some studying done since it's on the campus. A few of us stopped by a couple Sundays ago at around 8:30 AM for a quick coffee and pastry stop. Service was a bit slow for the drink (we waited about 20 minutes for 5 drinks). I got a raspberry tea cake (only like 2-3 small bites) for 3.50. Good texture and strong raspberry flavor, but it's small for the price. I also got their lemon, thyme, and espresso spritz for 5.50. I don't think I was the biggest fan of the spritz, but the syrups helped balance the overall drink. Probably would not get the spritz here again and go for a normal latte in the future. Good space, not too crowded when we were there. Very fancy interior.

Yelp
All in all, a 5 star experience: Food: we ordered a Turkey BLAT and a standard breakfast sandwich (egg/bacon/sourdough) and I was thoroughly impressed. Turkey BLAT was the star of the show. Ingredients were well balanced, well seasoned, not soggy, and fresh! The apricot danish was delicious, a perfect complement to the mocha and americano. Service: line was very long when we got there, but the wait wasn't long. The two cashiers were moving the line along and giving directions to the people waiting in line like they were TSA. Kudos to those guys. Ambiance: big, roomy, modern, but packed with people! Seems like a good place to work remote or study, there were lots of people on laptops. We were there for a little while and the number of people inside never let up so if you're looking for complete silence and peace, this isn't it. Parking is a gamble but if you are in the area, this place is worth a visit!

Yelp
Modern place with wifi so many people were working here, surprised as it was loud with the cooking and talking but people worked well. Modern architecture with subway tiles all around and lights, vaulted ceilings and nice outdoor seating. It was too hot but if cooler I'd do it. Chicken pita was fresh with warm pita. Some chicken was chewey but dressing and veggies with freshly spread. Latte was something different, turmeric can remove other tastes but I wanted to try something new. While service was quick to my table I felt like the lady in the front was rude, anything I asked she nodded her heard yes. I asked if I order here, can the coffee come cold, is that where I get utensils, if she just said it then employee service would push it to 4 stars

Yelp
Another lovely Tatte location with the great service and delicious drinks that are their signature. I got an iced matcha latte because it is a HOT day and I was pleased to find that the reviews about the lack of sweetness were on point. I added about a half packet of Sugar in the Raw and it was just right for me (most places make them a lot sweeter than I prefer). No glasses for cold drinks but they were happy to use my personal Yelp cup, and I can't ask for better than that!

Yelp
I love tatte bakery. This location is busy because it's right next to GWU, foggy bottom metro, and the hospital. It's always packed in here. I recommend coming here during when college students are leaving for class. Most seats are taken. There are limited outlets. There was a line to order food. At least they bring your meal and coffee to you. The tables are small to eat and put multiple devices on there. It's really nosy in here. I wanted to get the turmeric and honey latte but they ran out of the syrup. I got the pistachio latte which is pretty creamy and you can definitely taste it in there.

Yelp
Decided to meet a friend for breakfast my last morning in DC and I can say we made the right choice by coming to tatte. The bakery itself is well-designed, it puts you in the mind of a French bakery with lots of natural lighting and seating areas both indoors and outdoors. Most of the pastries in the case were French and I didn't know what many of them were, but they looked delicious and the descriptions on the card as well as the menu helped. You place your order at the display case of pastries then they bring your food out to you. I had the breakfast croissant and while it sounds basic, it was actually very delicious. every element of the sandwich was incredibly fresh. The house-made croissant made all the difference and I could've eaten it by itself. My friends had other sandwiches and pastries that I tried a couple bites of, all of them were equally as delicious. This location is conveniently located in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of DC, which I was staying in so the walk was manageable. Overall, it was a great experience, I would like to try other locations in the future.

Yelp
We needed a mid-morning fueling near our hotel on a warm sunny Saturday after checking out the early cherry blossom blooms at Tidal Basin. We went just in time around 1030 before the rush started and grabbed a table outside. We had the breakfast sandwich and croissant breakfast sandwich with our coffees. Portions of the sandwiches were generous and the sandwiches ingredients were fresh. I like that you can order the eggs the way you like for your sandwiches. I debated between over-hard and over-easy. I made a very foolish decision to get over-easy for a sandwich to be eaten with hands.

Yelp
I've gotten Tatte's lattes before (the honey halva is a must-try) but this was my first time sitting down and eating. They also have a brunch menu on Saturday and Sundays. We ordered the shakshuka and shared it with 2. I wish there was more bread (only got 4 pieces). The egg was cooked perfectly runny and the cheese tasted good with the tomato. I also liked the peppers, and I don't usually like pepper. There is a lottt of tomato. I also really enjoyed the grilled cheese sandwich. I mainly tasted meat not the cheese, so I would recommend if you like that. It definitely wasn't nearly as filling as the shaksuka. Overall, would definitely come back to try some more stuff here! There seems to be a lot of options and many delicious food!

Yelp
If you want a trendy and cute coffee shop that actually sells good food then come to Tatte Bakery! Let me just say this coffee shop is a bit pricey but worth it. I ordered the Smoked Salmon, Avocado & Egg Sandwich and a Matcha and loved it! They have so many other food options along with baked goods. This location is super spacious indoors and outdoors with seating. Perfect spot to work remotely or study for your next exam. Tatte has quickly become one of my favorite coffee shops to frequent! Definitely check this location out or the many others around the city.

Yelp
Aestheticallly pleasing and tasty breakfast sandwiches. The cafe is very large and open, its coffee, sandwiches, and baked goods were pleasing. We walked from our hotel within the GWU campus and thought this was a great find for a nice cup of coffee and/or meet up with friends... You order at the counter and wait for your order to be delivered to your table if it's a dine in order. There are many tables and sitting areas throughout the cafe and outside as well. A lot of business people, students and some tourists on vacation like us. The vibe was very chill and inviting.

Yelp
The prosciutto and fig sandwich is good at first, but then it gets sickeningly sweet. The pears were a lot- especially Bosc Pears which are known to sweet, while paired with a sweeter than normal fig jam. The short rib bowl was so yummy! Very herby but very yummy.
google avatar

Yelp
Gorgeous spot near GWU and hospital for breakfast. Quick service on a Friday morning with delicious coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Pricey but worth it.

Yelp
I can never get enough of Tatte on my visits to DC. I'm always excited when I come across a location and this one is very close to the George Washington University campus. There's always a crowd, but they do offer online ordering. Pastries and sandwiches are always fresh and tasty. The Turkey BLT I ordered was a great portion and very satisfying for a quick lunch when I was in the area. Make sure you visit any location you come across as you won't go wrong.

Yelp
I wish I went back and got more things to try! My first time at Tatte, I kept it simple by ordering an iced mocha latte, pistachio croissant, almond croissant, and chocolate croissant. And oh my goodness, they are delicious! The mocha was not that taste where it was flavored by syrup. It tasted like real cocoa powder, not too sweet, but not at all bitter. The croissants are just flaky to perfection with the right sweetness! They also had cute merch! I might come back to get some of those too while I get some more pastries to try!
google avatar

Yelp
I really like this place (despite location) and recently stopped by for lunch with a friend. We walked from the office and got there JUST before the rush. We both ordered a salad and mine was DELICIOUS. But, it took a long time for it to come out. They said bc it's "made fresh" but my friend had a chicken salad so was the chicken not made fresh? Lol. Anyway, this is def one of my favorite places and that salad was deliciously! I'd go back but probably try to avoid the rush
google avatar

Yelp
Great coffee shop with a unique atmosphere. There are several Tatte bakeries in the DC area, this one is near George Washington university. I ordered a nitro brew which was strong and flavorful like I expected. There was no line this time so it was fast. The pastries are delicious here as well, I just didn't have time to stay and eat.

Yelp
Went here on a Saturday morning and was it busy! I had a pistachio oatmilk latte along with a gluten free smoked salmon sandwich. Both were wonderful!! I loved all the gluten free sandwich accommodations and dessert options available! The overall wait for our food was around 15 minutes together. Although very busy I felt like it was an effective system to get everyone what they wanted and ordered. Highly recommend. The shop is so cute and chic! Such a fun experience and truly cannot wait to go back!
google avatar

Tex W.

Yelp
This place is awesome!!!! Even though sometimes it can be busy and there is a line, it is worth the wait. I tried the Sausage breakfast sandwich, it's awesome but could use a little bit of seasoning. The pistachio latte is amazing but make sure you mention light of the pistachio. The oatmeal cookies are THE BEST!!!! The chicken fita wrap is delicious!!! The salmon bowl is good but could use some better seasonings. No seasoning and usually salmon comes with a dill sauce or some kind of glaze at least . It is definitely the spot for chilling and having a great vibe and conversation.
google avatar

Alice J.

Yelp
A nice spot in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood: airy, lots of natural light, and delicious cakes. Service was prompt and very friendly. It is not too noisy given that the space comes with a very high ceiling and industrial design. I tried their passionfruit cake (see photo) which comes with an impressive presentation.
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
So the food and pastries are crazy good. I had a pistachio and cherry crumble that was even better than expected. Everything in there looks delicious. I got a little too adventurous and got the tumeric and honey latte which, honestly, looked and tasted like something out of a pool skimmer. Definitely avoid, gag. Normal coffee drinks looked awesome and I'd expect they'd live up to expectations.
google avatar

Robert H.

Yelp
Great place around GW University for coffee, pastries, and sandwiches. I was meeting with my financial advisors from New York City and they actually pick this place and it was very good. The coffee was great. Good place to have that kind of meeting.
google avatar

Sarah A.

Yelp
This food was amazing! Their pastries were also so delicious and so fresh. I don't know when they make them but it felt like the pistachio croissant that I tried was made today. I got the lamb hash and it was so tasty. The ingredients were so fresh, and it felt like farm to table. The whole menu looked really great and I would definitely come back again. This place gets super busy and packed! The restaurant model is to find your own table and we had to wait quite a bit just to get a table. Everyone wanted to be there on a Saturday morning. As far as the vibe, it's a spot that is very very popular for students and others in the area. If you want to go get there early or be prepared to wait to get a spot for a large party. Because of the busyness, it was hard to get personalized service like you'd get at a traditional restaurant with a dedicated waiter. I could tell that the staff was really trying, but to get 5 star quality service would mean a shift in how they navigate the busy spells. The wait for food varied. Some in my party got speedy service and others waited longer. All in all, the food is really worth all the hassle. The matcha latte was mid. Next time I'd get something coffee or espresso for a drink like my friend did (see beautiful photo).

Roxanne Y.

Yelp
Zero stars!!! Twice today I have tried to order an iced chai from them. Both times I got an iced coffee. As a coffee house cafe they should really know the difference! And when I tried to call them about it first they hung up on me and then they pretended they were closed (they're not closed. It's 3pm and they close at 8). Whatever happened to customer service?
google avatar

Kate F.

Yelp
It's a winner!!! Have visited twice w my kiddo and both times were a hit. Visit 1: Ordered many pastries to try, our favorite was the lemon drizzle cake. Visit 2: Came for a late brunch / lunch Ordered: egg croissant sandwich & summer farro bowl and of course lemon drizzle cake. (And a latte, fabulous latte!!) The staff is super efficient and friendly. Even if it looks like there is a long line it will be short in no time. Clean inside, it can be a smidge loud. I wished we lived a bit closer!!
google avatar

Petch S.

Yelp
One of the best breakfast place in DC area! All pastries and great. We have couple of other breakfast dishes on the menu, can't even decide which one was the best!!! Will be back again!!!
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
Cute spot to have lunch and get some work or studying done! Ordered a turkey BLT with avocado and it was delicious! Full of flavor and not dry at all. Disappeared in my matcha latte which I asked to be sweetened and it wasn't sweetened at all. In addition, I had a chocolate sandwich cookie which was in between hard and soft so it felt like the texture was off. Looked better than it tasted. Maybe I just chose the wrong item!
google avatar

Yelp
Tatte is always deliciously gorgeous. Walking into Tatte always makes me smile. I think it's the tiles. This is my time visiting the Foggy Bottom location. Great cafe with pastries, bread, Tatte All Day menu, and an incredible coffee bar like other locations. Because it's on the GW campus, it was very packed and busy. Nevertheless, it's a great place to study, work, or hang out with friends around great food and pastries. Indoor and outdoor seating is available.
google avatar

Iris P.

Yelp
i've been to this tatte location several times and it's consistently had great food and a lovely (although loud and bustling) atmosphere. pricey but unbeatable lattes, and great shakshuka that's affordable for brunch. shakshuka + coffee comes to about $20-25 which is reasonable for a filling brunch!
google avatar

Mara W.

Yelp
Service was good but desserts fell flat. Only one I liked was the linzer cookie. The monkey bread and cinnamon roll were dry. The chocolate sandwich cookie was hard, not enough cream filling and chocolate cookie was not sweet enough. The passion fruit dessert was okay, but nothing memorable. Ambiance was okay. Very loud...probably due to the high ceilings.

Yelp
We were over by GW Univ for a school tour and needed a coffee break and found Tatte nearby instead of the usual Starbucks. Glad we walked over as when you enter you feel you are instantly transported to NYC as the cafe is beautifully decorated and modern. Numerous pastries are in a glass case inviting you to buy them. I see there are also numerous entrees spanning breakfast and lunch...too bad we came full and only wanted coffee and a snack. We order a latte and a drip coffee plus a ham & cheese croissant. The ham and cheese croissant is tasty, the coffee is also good, although the server forgot to get me my drip coffee and I ended up waiting 5 minutes until I reminded her. Most importantly, I see that a new Tatte is going up at the Reston Town Center which is much closer to home. Looking forward to it opening so we can try the menu items. In the meantime, if you are near GWU and looking for coffee and/or breakfast/lunch/snack, give Tatte a try.

Tracey C.

Yelp
I LOVE this location! Every one is friendly and accommodating. My orders are always correct and food/beverage hot. I come to this location 1x month after a monthly doctors appt. I bring a journal and my pen and so enjoy spending time by myself. Tomas (Ken) is the best person! I look forward to meeting/seeing him when I visit. It's like he's the bright light after an appt that I must go to that helps me continue living. Every manage that I've encountered has been dynamic as well.

Yelp
Excellent gluten-free menu and fast and friendly service! The location is close to the metro, and the seating is open.. first come, first serve.

Yelp
I've tried Tatte at other locations before but this was my first time at the Foggy Bottom location! The interior was very typical of Tatte, very nice and open, but seating was super limited. I had the prosciutto and egg tartine and the traditional shakshuka, along with the house latte and the crumb cheesecake cup. The tartine was delicious although there were only two very thin slices of prosciutto. I'm not a huge fan of goat cheese so I found the taste to be a bit strong, but this wouldn't be a problem for fans of it (and I thought the flavors still complemented each other well). I wished that there was more pesto as I was eating but it turned out that all the pesto was just collected in the middle lol so maybe they could do a better job with the distribution of it? The shakshuka was also good even though I can't claim to know what an authentic shakshuka tastes like. I do like the house latte at Tatte and get it often. My one complaint is that there's often a sandy texture left by the spices they use, which makes drinking it an unpleasant experience once you get to the bottom of the cup. The crumb cheesecake cup is absolutely delicious - I think they say they use Israeli cheese which gives it a unique flavor from regular cheesecake, and they whip it for a nice airy texture. It's outrageously expensive for the portion size but I guess that's standard for coffee shop cakes.
google avatar

Yelp
The black sesame latte is a beautiful thing. Smooth, flavorful, not too sweet, not too bitter. And the Cilbir (egg, Jerusalem artichoke, spinach, labneh, Aleppo pepper oil) was wonderful as a whole and each component individually. Got my egg poached hard by request and it was just right. Beautiful space, very open and airy.

Yelp
My favorite cafe in Washington, DC so far. Great coffee and pastries. Very crowded on weekends, but the lane moves quickly. I've never been to France, but it doesn't really feel like French :)
google avatar

Meghan R.

Yelp
The atmosphere of this restaurant is fabulous! The coffee is so good! We went two times on our trip in DC! We had amazing breakfast sandwiches, one day, and an almond croissant the other day! They were excellent! I highly recommend this as a place to visit!
google avatar

Bridget Y.

Yelp
I ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich and the iced (light ice + almond milk) honey halva latte. The breakfast sandwich was delicious; the croissant was flaky and buttery, the eggs were perfectly cooked, and the tomato, arugula, and avocado were very fresh!! However, the honey halva latte was interesting. I had never had halva before this, so I was a bit perplexed by the flavor. But if you like the flavor of halva, I think you would really like this drink. I came in at around 12:30 PM on a Thursday and was able to snag a table inside (was the only open one) and got my food pretty fast. The interior is super aesthetic and bright; this is definitely a great study spot!
google avatar

Saha S.

Yelp
This is a nice little cafe. We got the salmon and egg sandwich and the hummus and fava bean plate. The sandwich was meh, but the chickpea and fava plate was pretty good. Points taken off for how small/crowded the place is and limited seating. The prices are reasonable. A good place for a quick stop. We will likely stop by again for the pastries.
google avatar

Verina B.

Yelp
Great place to grab a quick bite with an amazing menu. Short rib sandwich was good- but wish it had more cheese. The cheesecake was very different than anything I've tried - had a yogurt flavor. Ambiance is great, makes for a great wfh or study spot.

H B.

Yelp
I've had coffee here a few times. The coffee and pastries are all very good. The pistachio latte is different but quite nice. The only thing that could be better is customer service. Some of the employees are great, and the others make you feel like an inconvenience to their day.
google avatar

Nupur C.

Yelp
tatte never misses with their food. service is somehow so fast despite how busy it gets. it does get a bit loud in there, but it's a great study spot if you have some good noise cancelling headphones.

Yelp
Stopped this relatively new location as I was exploring Foggy Bottom. My experience at other Tatte location has always been great and this visit was no exception! I got their Tatte latte, which includes honey, milk, halva, and other spices poured over espresso. I liked how the flavors of the honey and spices came through in conjunction to the coffee flavors; enjoyed how it wasn't too sweet either. I like my drinks closer to room temp (cold no ice or lukewarm) so I really appreciate how they had the "kids temp" option so you can get your coffee still somewhat warm but not pipping hot. Their pistachio croissant was pretty solid! Croissant itself was crunchy, flaky, and buttery. Besides being covered with little pistachio bites, the croissant also had pistachio-derived/jam filling which was nicely semi-sweet, and almost had this flora aroma that I liked. The espresso mousse was pretty good too! Very smooth and rich texture! I really liked how the cream and the mousse itself were not too sweet so you could taste the cocoa. Unfortunately the espresso coffee flavors were a little lacking. Space and store wise - very similar to other Tatte locations, cute aesthetic per usual. Great for studying or brunch time! You know I'll be back!

Yelp
Such a great spot for pastries, brunch, breakfast coffee, work, study or conversation. My go to is the Halwah latte, Pistachio croissant, smoked salmon sandwich. Really good service and I love the atmosphere.

Yelp
Tatte is my go-to cafe in DC, and this location definitely didn't disappoint! I ordered my favorites, the house latte and the crunchy halloumi salad. Food always comes out fast and service is great. Menu is amazing, there's so much to choose from. And I love sitting in the cafe to work, there's so much natural light and lots of places to plug in a laptop. Coming to Tatte is always a treat and I can't wait to return!

Yelp
I love this place. When I come to DC I always need to grab a pastry and a coffee. If it's your first time, do that in the morning and walk to the White House.

Yelp
Very eclectic menu items. If dining with a mixed-diet group, know that veggie & meat eaters will find something off the menu. I'm still salivating from the several items I've tasted and can't wait to try the whole menu. I haven't even tasted the bakery portion yet! Mocha latte was great... the roast used was smooth and balanced. Chocolate actually tasted like cocoa. A+ Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Had another great experience at Tatte! I always get something different, but it always hits the spot. This time, I had the smoked salmon avocado sandwich and a chai oat milk latte. My fiancé had the savory French toast. We also tried the chocolate chip cookie and the monkey bread. Everything was very yummy. Monkey bread was not as gooey as we would have liked. I will be back again for sure. Clearly, I am a fan.
