"The second iteration of Tavern on Rush has opened around the corner from the original site of the Gold Coast nightlife icon. Forced out after a landlord squabble, Tavern — which is also a steakhouse — has been refreshed for a new generation. For example, there’s a $40 tequila and mezcal drink, called the Oaxacan on Rush. Chicago is in a spicier place compared to the ‘90s. Phil Stefani and his children are hoping there’s still some magic left in the area. The original was a celeb hangout and a prime space for people-watching across from the park unfortunately called the Viagra Triangle." - Ashok Selvam

"The original Tavern on Rush is located just up the street and is now the Bellevue. At the new tavern location, Phil Stefani and family have created an all-day restaurant for the general public and guests of the Thompson Hotel. There are fancy steaks, including A5 wagyu, seafood towers, and more." - Ashok Selvam

"Tavern On Rush is a steakhouse in the Gold Coast. Upscale but still somewhat casual, you can always count on this spot to have tables outside as soon as the weather turns nice." - adrian kane
"Mansion On Rush is another option if you’re looking for an upscale date night. This Japanese and Latin-inspired Gold Coast spot opens on May 15th, and will serve sushi along with dishes like wagyu beef and duck confit with mole. If you really want to go all out, book a table at their Champagne Lounge, which has a separate menu, bottle service, and a live DJ. Is this place over the top? Probably, but after a year where putting on shoes felt fancy, who are we to judge." - adrian kane
"Tavern On Rush is making a comeback. After closing in 2023, the decades-old Gold Coast steakhouse reopened across the street from its original location in a larger space with an updated menu." - john ringor, veda kilaru, nick allen
