Great place to spend few days out of the tourist pressure. The hotel is a family business, warm ambiance and of course, excellent food. Bistro is top for diner and breakfast is amazing, in front of the sea.

Absolute 1st class experience! The hotel and staff were very attentive to our needs and made sure that we were well taken care of. And when I had the misfortune of feeling a little ill on one of the days, the team went above and beyond to meet our needs. Finally, the food was amazing! The included breakfast never disappointed and the two, on-premises restaurants provided us with a great dining experience and excellent food to match! We look forward to returning someday.

Excellent dinner. We had a 9 courses taster menu and evey one of them was exquisite . We had a chat with the chef at the end which was great. All staff very helpful and polite. I know that it is a bit pricy but it is Michelen star restuarant. We paid £900 for 4 people but it was worth it. We did not stay in the hotel so cannot comment of the rooms. If you are in Nerano, you should try this gem.

Amazing! Thank you - my husband, our boys and I had the best time staying with you in your beautiful small hotel. The real standout were our 3 dinners - some of the best meals we’ve had! Those tomatoes were the best we’ve ever had. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully done, and the setting just made it even better. Grazie mille for having us, and see you again next year!

My husband and I came for our honeymoon trip. We were absolutely in love with the staff, the room, and the location, not to mention the FOOD was amazing!!! Amazing hospitality very cozy they made you feel like you were part of the family. I would definitely come back one day!

Hidden treasure. We could not be happier while staying in the Amalfi coast. A gorgeous and quiet little hotel, ran by the family. Amazing restaurants with fantastic food and wine selection, friendly, polite and attentive service. Clean rooms with a beautiful view over the sea. Highly highly recommended!

What an amazing place. Nestled in a small inlet in Nerano you find this beautiful hotel and Michelin restaurant. A family business for the last 56 years, were they treat you like family. The hotel and the restaurant staff is excellent and the food was very good. Probably the best quality breakfast we had in Italy. We plan to return and spend more time.

We went to the restaurant for my birthday and it was everything I wanted for a meal to celebrate. Our waitress paid amazing attention to detail. The food presentation was beautiful and the taste was even better than it looked. I was surprised with a special dessert and the chef was so gracious to speak with us at the end of our meal. One of the BEST restaurant experiences I have had. Thank you Chef Alfonso and the staff of Taverna del Capitano for making our visit special!

3rd generation family owned hotel and restaurant. World class dining experience. Over the top from beginning to end. Absolutely exquisite!

We were surprised to find a restaurant with a Michelin star across the road from our hotel, but delighted to try it. We had the six-course tasting menu, which was excellent and understandable heavy on the fresh seafood. Great wines on the menu; we paired with a beautiful local white wine of a type called falanghina. Service was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant looks out over the harbor with lovely views. A meal I'll remember.

Let me just say, I have never been compelled to write a review for a restaurant until now. Taverna del Capitano is the complete "wow" factor. My significant other and I went for dinner around 7:30. We were greeted immediately by a very friendly waiter who sat us right away. We had a complete view of the ocean while the sun was setting and it was gorgeous. The staff was truly next to none. They treated us as if we were family and spoke perfect English. Even asking us which language we preferred which was nice for us as we really only know how to greet in Italian. With our experience thus far, many other restaurants would take a greeting in Italian to mean that we spoke the language fluently. We ordered the seafood soup and it was delicious! The noodles were wrapped around the shrimp and the broth was very flavorful. I am not one to eat seafood but am wanting to order this soup again it was so good! We also ordered the chicken and pork which were both phenomenal. I know it's not all about the presentation but every meal came out beautifully. The table next to us ordered this gorgeous tuna dish which my significant other wants to come back and try! We were lucky enough to meet the chef/owner and he is the kindest! Truly made us feel even more welcomed. Dining here was worth every penny and we were already planing on returning before the end of our meal. If you pass this restaurant up you will truly regret it!
