The 42 Best Restaurants in Rome

"A light-filled former cafeteria that's now a wine bar and restaurant with sleek orange-tiled floors, polished timber tables, and shelves filled with jars of jam and homemade antipasti. It's the perfect place for a midweek date night: the dishes are smart and picture-perfect, drawn from a menu that changes nightly and features seasonal charmers like handmade gnocchi with lamb ragu and squash blossoms and risotto with Castelmagno cheese and pear; and the wine list is a selection of Italy's best carefully curated to pair with the food. The servers are true gems—ask them about the list of 150 types of cheese to prove it." - Maresa Manara

Happy Hour in Rome: A Guide to Bars for Aperitivo | Eater

"An offshoot bistro and wine bar born from a beloved neighborhood grocery, serving the same high-quality cheeses, salami, and wines sold next door plus a full menu of refined dishes—think spaghetti with raw shrimp and lime or a poached egg with potato cream—making it a sit-down spot that channels traditional deli flavors in a more formal dining context." - Luciana Squadrilli

Small, family owned spot in Rome. Very small space, intimate, great jazz playing in the background. The food was delicious and the server was charming and well informed about the dishes and wines. We trusted his recommendations and had a beautiful meal with plates that we shared. I'd definitely eat there again. Make a reservation because it fills up quickly. I don't typically take pictures of my food, but I've added a pic of the wine we ordered because it was wonderful.

I had chef specials on that day which was recommended by the staff there. Food is quite nice. Service is definitely the part made my experience here 11 out of 10. The lady who served me is passionate and attentive the whole time I was dining there. This places is definitely one of my favourite one is Rome.

The best meal we've had in Rome. The menu is small but carefully curated. We ordered the Mediterranean bluefin tuna, which was cooked to perfection and paired with a rich, smoky sauce that balanced the flavours beautifully. For dessert, we enjoyed a mascarpone mousse atop a fresh strawberry glaze. The whole experience was enjoyable and look forward to visiting again.

Next level amazing!!! The service, drinks and flavour of the meals was above expectations. Our party of 8 enjoyed most of the menu and the pork ribs, tenderloin and pesto pasta are stand-out dishes! We’re only here for 3 nights and will be back !! ❣️❣️❣️

This was an amazing culinary experience for myself and two young adult children. The food here was absolutely amazing. The service was impeccable, and the whole atmosphere and experience was a great way to end our time in Rome. I love to see where they are excited about the food and engage. I would highly recommend this place if you like quality food that is made with love and care for the food. I got lost in the food and forgot to take more pictures, but everything was absolutely amazing. Wish I had more room to eat more.

Incredible food and the warmest service! While we waited for our table, the staff invited us for two glasses of wine, which was such a thoughtful touch. Every dish was delicious, and the team made us feel like family. Highly recommend if you’re in Rome!

We arrived late for lunch, but were warmly welcomed by the best wait staff we’ve encountered in Rome. The daily black truffle specials were both amazing as was the artichoke starter. The tiramisu was excellent. The friendly service combined with amazing food means we will remember this meal for a long time. We hope to return soon.

One of our favorite restaurants in Rome! Antipasti: Swordfish pazanella was excellent. Wagyu with roasted vegetable was unctuous and amazing. Veal ragout in vegetable pouch was also wonderful. Primo: All of the pastas were tried were excellent. Risottos were excellent too. Secondi: Duck with pumpkin and pistachio was tender, moist and delicious. Desserts: This is by far the best tiramisu I've ever tasted. Gorgonzola semifreddo was delicious too. Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
The place is lovely, it could do with softer lighting in the evening or something to warm up the ambient. Service was friendly and attentive. Wine list is really good even for by the glass selection. Food was excellent, simple yet sophisticated. I had "drunk octopus", which was really good and perfect truffle tonnarelli.

Yelp
Was really great-had the gnocchi ragu and it was awesome. Was reasonable and in a cute neighborhood.

Yelp
Overall, I was disappointed and found it overpriced and little care for the price. I was in the mood for vegetables and therefore had two vegetable plates, a caponata (that they recommended to me) and a gratinee artichoke. The artichoke was actually rather special - with an unusual cream sauce on the side. However, the caponata (at a hefty 9 euro) was clearly microwaved and came to the table partially ice cold and the other part warm. The bread was more interesting than the average, but the charge of 2.50 euro for once person was simply too much. My simple two vegetable dishes with water and bread (no coffee, no dessert) cost 22 euro. Many other places provide spreads of vegetables for much less.
