11 Best Bowls of Pho in the South Bay | Eater SF

"Though Tay Ho started in SoCal and now has numerous locations across California, it’s still a family-owned venture at heart, as each spot is run by a family member. Named after the Tay Ho District in Vietnam’s capital Hanoi, the restaurants serve a variety of Vietnamese dishes from recipes that have been passed down through generations. For pho, the difference in Tay Ho’s lies in the satisfying and refined broth. The Special Pho, in particular, incorporates different cuts of beef each day — reminiscent of what other restaurants refer to as “chef’s choice.”" - Cathy Park

Came here for lunch and it was very easy parking. We were seated promptly. Clean bathrooms. Great variety on the menu. I liked the woven noodles which was a fresh dish for a warm day.

Google
A great pho spot in the neighborhood! We had the A2 spring rolls and the P12 pho — both were fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. We also tried the sugarcane juice; it was decent, though I recognized it as the bottled kind I’ve had before, not freshly pressed. Was expecting the fresh sugarcane juice so was a bit disappointed. But overall good dining experience.

Very good chicken vermicelli. Ton of protein and cooked well with an extremely large fish sauce. Great Vietnamese. Would come again.

Loved the food here. Had a staple, pork chops. One of those dishes I use to judge new places. Was pretty good, flavorful for sure, but nothing too special.they did give two chops, so props to them here. My family loved the pho' they ordered. Had the bbq shirt ribs last night, another tasty option. Second time back. Had a dish where you basically build your own spring roll. Fun experience. They did not have what I originally was craving, a beef onion roll. The secondary choice was tasty. Tried the grilled pork, yummy.

Ordered Hu Tieu while not the most authentic, it was decent for a quick meal. Service was fast, and overall a solid experience for a casual bite.

Went here for lunch and dinner this week with different people. Pho was the best in the SF South Bay. Fried Chicken was mild, perfect for my daughter, and adding some of the teriyaki sauce on the side added the right amount of flavor. Pork Vermicelli was great, especially after adding some the of red sauce at the table. Surprised to see my daughter enjoyed everything she tried, including the egg rolls.

This Vietnamese restaurant is in a strip mall with several other small Asian restaurants. It was very good food and service. The staff was nice. Interesting that there are table grills but I hunted the menu for something to grill and didn’t find it. Maybe they haven’t set that up yet. There are buzzers on the booth to call wait staff, which was pretty handy. It was very clean and well lit. We had egg rolls, spring rolls, rice plate chicken and a noodle plate. There were sauces and accompaniments that were great. I would have liked additional beef options tho again maybe they’re setting up for grill tables to cook beef. I also had the soda lemonade (non-salty version), which was nice tart lemon juice with sugar served with a can of soda water. Better than the usual premixed version. We’ll be back to check out what they’re doing with the grill tables and if it’s what I think, I’ll be parked there regularly when I’m in town.

Google
Very busy restaurant during lunch hour. It have some unique dishes like Banh Tam bi tom chay which is coconut based sauce. Service was quick and food price is reasonable. The restaurant looks like used to be Korean Bbq place as the table has for grill. Food is yummy but wish the soup is bit hotter.. It is interesting the pork chop with rich and egg which is similar to broken rice plate doesn't have broken rice and it didn't look very appealing so we didn't eat it at all and decided to bring it home as to go. At home we had it as dinner and it was yummy. It is just in the restaurant the porkchop looks pale and it was cold. Good lunch

Yelp
Came by for lunch the other day and it was surprisingly a tasty experience! Parking was plentiful in the private strip mall lot. Dining was available both indoors as well as on the covered sidewalk. Staff wore a uniform t-shirt along with disposable gloves. The restaurant had their A/C running which was perfect for a warm summer day. Ordering was done with the staff via their tablet. Started off with the combination pho and it was excellent. The noodles were the dried rice noodles and the broth was very flavorful. The meats were tender too! The webbed vermicelli platter was excellent, just like in Vietnam with the lotus wrapped grilled beef served with a side of vegetables and rice paper. The rice noodles were excellent too. They were super thin and light, served with a side of grilled pork and some vegetables. They have a FiveStars program where you earn points after spending on dining in. They also offer a 3.75% cash discount for paying cash.

Yelp
We decided to stop by here to get some take out. They do have an extensive menu. We ordered the BBQ Pork Chops, Shredded Pork, and Pork Cake over broken rice, BBQ Pork with Shrimp Vermicelli Bowl, and BBQ Pork, Shredded Pork, and Pork Cake over broken rice. The food was ready in about 15 minutes, which was pretty quick considering the restaurant about half full. We appreciate them wrapping the shredded pork and vegis separately versus to just throwing them in a box. The BBQ meats were kinda of salty and on a dry side. The vegetables were fresh, and the Pork Cake was tasty. After our meal, we were pretty thirsty for rest of the night.

Yelp
The service was good as they sat us down and provided menus quickly. All the condiments are readily available on the table with utensils. We originally came here for the banh xeo as I saw was available online. But once we saw the price $18.99? Pass. The other food we ordered was good. The pho broth was flavorful. The thit nuong was grilled just right it wasn't dry. The bang cuon was good. I got the dessert to go. It is a good size dessert for the price. All the components of mung bean and agar jelly were all made well and perfect mixed up. The only downside was the banh Tom chien khoai. It was a good balance of sweet potato and shrimp. It wasn't overly greasy meaning it was fried in the right temperature. The only poor thing was the temperature. It was like warm when it came to the table. While eating lunch I noticed all the other tables near us also ordered this plate. I wonder if they fry them in advance to keep up on all the orders. I definitely will return one day.

Yelp
One of my favorite Bun Bo Hues I've had! South Bay never disappoints when it comes to vietnamese food! This was literally utmost comfort in a bowl, from the perfectly seasoned broth, copious amounts of meat, to chewy rice noodles, I saw no flaws. Cabbage, sprouts, jalapeño were all fresh. My boyfriend's pho was just as tasty. Let's just say our bowls were completely empty by the end of the meal. I definitely want to come back for their other dishes. The place has TONS of seating and is nicely decorated. The biggest negative is the lack of service, but everything screams authentic. Really just enjoyed the food a lot and want to be back already!

Yelp
My friends and I came in on a Saturday night and it was packed! The four of us were immediately sat. The vibe is casual, lots of families but also friends dining - pretty loud in the restaurant. For the 4 of us we ordered the following: - banh beo - good! Glad it came with the shredded pork - banh cuon - the one with multiple kinds - this was also solid - banh hoi - the nem was so juicy! Drinks: - sugarcane was good for restaurant quality - durian smoothie - MUST GET IF YOU LOVE DURIAN LIKE I DO!! Overall, pleasant experience! It wasn't the best Vietnamese spot I've been to but overall good for the variety that they offer and it definitely hit the spot for our Viet food cravings

Yelp
Delicious banh cuon plate! Plenty of other options such as pho, bun, and com. Service is courteous and polite. All of the staff is welcoming and quick to help. The back of the restaurant seems cluttered, The dining area is neat and spacious.

Yelp
Tried out Tay Ho for lunch with some friends. Tons of parking, which is always a win. The menu is huge, lots to choose from, and they've got some solid vegetarian options too. I got the vermicelli with tofu and a vegetarian egg roll. Tasty, and it comes with fish sauce on the side, but they also have a vegetarian sauce option if you'd prefer that. I was so caught up chatting with friends that I forgot to grab my leftovers to go... still thinking about it.

Yelp
Came here on recommendation from some friends in the area and it did not disappoint. It's located in an unassuming strip mall in between a bunch of different businesses. The interior is pretty large and very clean, which left me a little skeptical, but the food did not disappoint. What we got: - Banh Cuon Dac Biet: This had a little bit of everything - steamed rice rolls with pork and mushrooms, pork, egg rolls, tempura, etc. It was huge, delicious, not overly greasy, and definitely a must order - Women vermicelli with grilled pork: Make your own spring rolls essentially with tasty pork, perfectly steamed rice noodles, and many veggies to complement The waitstaff was super friendly and attentive and the place was reasonably busy even around 3pm on a Tuesday. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area!

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick lunch and left thoroughly satisfied. The banh xeo was excellent--thin, crispy, and packed with fresh, flavorful ingredients. Every bite had that perfect balance of crunch and tenderness, making it one of the best I've had in a while. The sugarcane juice was just as refreshing mixed with kumquat. Perfect for a warm day or just a little midday pick-me-up. Service was friendly, the space was relaxed, and the whole experience made for a solid meal. Definitely looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu!

Yelp
We just got back from Hanoi, Vietnam recently, so we were excited to try this place and compare the authenticity. Named after the Tay Ho District located in Vietnam's capital Hanoi, Tay Ho focuses on traditional Vietnamese street food like Banh Cuon. I really enjoyed the Bun Rieu and Banh Xeo. The place was a full house on a Tuesday night and non-stop to-go orders. I'm happy to say, the dishes we had tasted just like ones we had in Hanoi.   * Bun Rieu * Banh Cuon Tay Ho Dac Biet * Banh Beo * Banh Xeo

Yelp
Yummy and flavorful!! My sis and I were craving some pho and decided to try out this place. I love myself some BBH so I decided to try it and my sis got their pho duoi Bo since it has oxtail! (She's a big fan of oxtail). I'm not a big fan with the blood cube on BBH but their flavor was spot on! Might've needed more spice IMO but the flavor was there. My sis enjoyed her pho and we also enjoyed our Thai teas. The eggrolls were crispy! Ambiance is small and cute. On the tables, you have everything you need. From chopsticks, fish sauce, oyster sauce, etc.

Yelp
Spacious restaurant with generally good service. That said, when it's not busy, they can be a bit slow when checking in or bringing the bill. I ordered the bun thit nuong, which was solid--no complaints there. However, the banh cuon was underwhelming. The flavors didn't quite hit, especially with their watery nuoc mam. Overall, it's an okay spot, depending on what you order. I've seen people rave about their soups, so I hope to try next time.
google avatar

Yelp
Located in Santa Clara, this place is solid and cheap. I have been to the chino hills location as well. We ordered the banh cuon thit, and I couldn't praise this dish enough. The rolls were so fresh and soft, the fried yams were perfect, the meat loaf, good. We also ordered a bun dish and fried egg rolls gia gio, and it came with lots of veggies and mint leaves. Unlimited nuoc mum you can pour. I'm a fan of this chain. For your reference my great grandma is Vietnamese.

Yelp
We had the chicken barbecue vermicelli bowl, and the vegetarian pho along with the vegetarian egg rolls and shrimp summer rolls. Overall, it was a quiet tuesday late lunch around 2-3pm. We were trying to find a place that was pet friendly and came across this restaurant. We sat outside. The service was prompt, and the servers were kind. The restrooms are very clean and the ambience was good. Ask for the food, the pho had a very delicate clean crisp broth. People who like simple and clean soups this might be the place to go. The summer roll was mediocre. Nothing special. As for our meals, the fried spring rolls were crisp and were very generous with the side vegetables. We will definitely come back and if you do have a pet, they are pet friendly.

Yelp
Came here for a weekend dinner without a reservation. They were pretty busy but we got seated right away. We got 2 orders of banh cuon dac biet, banh hoi nem nuong, and banh beo. This was for 4 people and a ton of food. We probably could've gotten away with just 2 entrees instead of 3 and the appetizer since we had leftovers. The banh beo is steamed rice cakes with mung bean paste, scallions, pickled carrot and daikon, bean sprouts. I love mine dipped in the fish sauce. The banh cuon is steamed rice sheets with ground pork and wood ear mushrooms, egg roll, Vietnamese ham, fried mung bean roll, fried sweet potato, cucumber and bean sprouts. This is one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes and was a huge portion. Also dipped in a ton of fish sauce. The banh hoi is rice noodle in sheets with scallions and fried shallots, pork meatballs, rice paper, herbs, and lettuce. I like to eat my rice noodle sheets in lettuce with the meat ball and then dipped in fish sauce. My favorite was the banh cuon and my friends favorites was the banh hoi. The pork meatballs were super juicy and delicious. Honestly everything was so good and these are dishes I don't typically eat at home so my cravings were satisfied and I had a great experience. Would highly recommend if you're craving these type of Vietnamese dishes and are in the area!

Yelp
Decent place to get Vietnamese food and the service was very quick and attentive. The food was okay, the Vietnamese crepe we got looked big, but the majority of the filling was bean sprouts. LOVE that they serve beer though! Overall, I don't think it's worth the drive from UC as there are better places.

Yelp
I've been craving a vermicelli bowl and I'm glad I stumbled upon Tay Ho. The restaurant is a hole in the wall, and the servers are super friendly. The menu was well priced and the food was well flavored. We got two apps to share and they were ginormous! The combo app was a great option for us to try everything. My bowl was delicious, but the pork was slightly over cooked. However, the overall experience was great and my group all agreed we'll be coming back!

Yelp
I've always wanted to try Tay Ho after visiting their OAK airport location, and also have had great experience at the Tay Ho's in SoCal. This location did not disappoint and the pho here is excellent!! And will come back to try their famous and favorite dishes ... such as their egg rolls, bun or their rice dishes. Very nice and clean environment. Service was prompt and efficient. Also found out that this location does not accept loyalty points from the Tay Ho app (e.g. was hoping to redeem some points for their Vietnamese iced coffee or appetizer). We were told that the SoCal locations are "family" but the NorCal locations does not use / utilize the app for collecting or redeeming points. oh well. Overall a great dining experience. Food is very good. :)

Yelp
Excellent pho experience in the South Bay. Food (5/5): The pho with filet mignon and beef meatballs was exceptional - the broth was perfectly balanced and the beef meatballs had lots of flavor and were well seasoned. Loved that they provided plenty of fresh veggies on the side and generous green onions in the soup. The spring rolls with shrimp hit the spot with great texture and a perfect balance of protein and lettuce. The peanut sauce was exactly what I wanted - no complaints there. Service (5/5): Good service throughout. Had to wait about 30 minutes for a table on Saturday night, but that's expected since we were a large party. Ambiance (4/5): The restaurant was clean and not terribly loud despite being busy. Will definitely be returning to try their rice plates, which looked amazing as well. Food here is not inexpensive, but completely reasonable considering the area and the quality of food you're getting.

Yelp
Located in a big strip mall so parking is available but can get tight during weekends. The service is fast and not nonsense and the food comes out quickly. The vibe is definitely family and eat quick and go. The egg rolls were top tier and I could eat a dozen if my stomach would allow it. The egg cake was good, the BBQ pork was also tasty but a little dry. the broken rice was well cooked. The pho was okay and the low light of the meal. Overall this place has great food and great value. Will definitely return

Yelp
I went to Tay Ho for the first time after reading the review on Yelp. I will definitely go there again. All cons! - The food was pretty good, and all the ingredients were very fresh. - All staff members are really nice and helpful. - The interior is spacious and clean. - Parking is easy.

Yelp
This is one of my staple places to get pho. It's great especially on a nice cold day. The broth is flavorful and the quality of food is good. If you sign up for their rewards, you can get free apps or meals. They're very quick with bringing food out and are nice. There's good parking so I never have to worry about looking for a spot for good pho.
google avatar

Yelp
Tay Ho has always been our go-to Vietnamese noodle soup place for weekend lunch! We usually get their Egg Noodles with Steamed Pork, Shrimps, Fish Cake, and Quail Eggs (Mi), Banh Canh, and Banh Cuon Nhan Thit. One complaint I have is how their Banh Canh broth is sometimes a hit or miss. Some days, they are really yummy and flavorful, but sometimes they are blend and not as good.
google avatar

Sai G.

Yelp
Got the food with a group order and I mentioned veg but the food has shrimp inside a vegetarian food. Can we trust the veg food if we order? How come a chef or packing person doesn't pay attention to details. Kills the trust of a restaurant. Very disappointed
google avatar

Allison M.

Yelp
This review is only for their takeout banh cuon. We ordered in person at the counter and our order was ready within ten minutes! I was impressed, especially since the restaurant seemed so busy. The loud and casual atmosphere is very typical for a popular Vietnamese restaurant. I've never seen such beautiful packaging for takeout banh cuon... not to say that other spots with their regular plastic takeout boxes aren't also delicious, but I was wowed by the presentation. I got the banh cuon nhan thit, which has ground meat filling. They have a good banh cuon to meat ratio, though I thought the banh cuon was a little dry. That said, I'd probably come back for a solid casual but homey meal.
google avatar

Yelp
Found another authentic Pho spot with a variety of delicious Vietnamese Pho and dishes, at a reasonable price. First, the Pho, the broth is light but tasty. Just the right amount of flavor and saltiness. The meat is good and easy to chew. The appetizer plate was filled with a variety of flavors and textures. It's all good to share and enjoy. I enjoyed the rice crepes. Service was decent. The place has a good number of tables, with booth seating. The ambiance is authentic pho restaurant, nothing fancy, but the food speaks for itself. Hope to come back again, especially in this cold weather.
google avatar

Eric R.

Yelp
First thing I always do with Pho. Taste the broth. Then, decide what it needs. I don't just start grabbing the bottles and randomly squeezing sauces and spices in. Well, this broth needed nothing! I could taste the cinnamon, the star anise and the misc. spices required for good broth. This broth was made right and with love! I added the basil, bean sprouts, chili peppers and the lemon juice. Wow! This was a good bowl of Pho. Perfect amount of meat and a piece with every bite of noodles. The noodles were not overdone or soggy. This is honestly one of the best Pho I have ever had. Plus, no MSG hangover. I actually felt good after my meal. Solid, clean and nice place. I will return for Bun, next time, as that is my most favorite. Today, I felt a cold coming and knew I better get Pho. This Pho hit the spot and cleared me up. Excellent!

Yelp
Service was pretty quick. After ordering we didn't wait too long for the food to come out. We ordered the usual: pho, egg rolls and rice place. We also wanted to try something new so we ordered Banh Cuon Dac Biet. It's a special plate with different small dishes. Everything in that order you have to dip in fish sauce or else there is no other flavor. The only thing that caught me off guard was when we went to pay on that portable machine, it didn't let me choose to tip. The screen automatically went to ask me to put my card number in and the waitress pressed something and only saw the total which was higher than expected. If I wouldn't asked for the receipt, I would've gave an extra tip in cash without knowing 30% tip was added.

Yelp
tl;dr Solid Vietnamese spot with good selection and fair pricing. My husband enjoys the flour sheet combination plate while I prefer the P12 pho most times. Updating my 2018 review - Tay Ho has stayed consistent in quality over the years. Service is generally prompt and no frills. They seat you, hand you menus and water, and may check in once or so over the course of the meal. The portions are a good size for all the different options I've tried, but I typically will not have leftovers to bring home. I believe there is also a small discount if you pay in cash per a sign I've seen at the register. Overall, I am a repeat customer and will come here for my pho fix.
google avatar

Maneet G.

Yelp
Excellent Vietnamese in the heart of Santa Clara! Tay Ho went above and beyond with its delicious Vietnamese food- in particular the Bbq grilled pork and egg rolls bun bowl! My entire family absolutely loved it! The grilled pork was juicy and flavorful. The egg rolls were the best I've had as they were made so well. The veggies-salad, pickled carrots and daikon, mint, etc were fresh and provided the perfect balance to the meat and egg rolls. The service was great as well and they were able to cater to no green onions and extra mint for my parents. My #1 for Vietnamese noodle bowls! You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
First time coming to Tay Ho and I have to say... I was pretty impressed. Came here with my family for dinner on a Saturday. Lucky for us, we beat the dinner crowd that only continuously grew as we dined. Do keep in mind that the establishment is a bit small and although there are a few tables to dine outdoor, nobody seemed interested. Known primarily for their banh uot & banh cuon [Vietnamese flour sheet rolls], Tay Ho actually offers much more. The menu consists of assorted appetizers, pho, mi, bun, and even rice plates. Dinner Purchases: Banh Cuon Tay Ho Dac Biet x3 Mi Kho TH's flour sheet rolls special plates were amazing. Each portion was piled high with ingredients. This is essentially their deluxe version of a sampler plate and is a great way to get a bite of everything. Mi kho is where things could have been better. The noodles were cooked well, so well that at first glance, I automatically thought this bowl was gonna be a home run. The sauce is what makes or breaks this bowl of noodles and unfortunately, the flavors were kind of on the bland yet oily side. My toddler was not a fan and hoisin sauce added couldn't rescue the noods either. 3.5 stars. While I wouldn't come back for the mi, there are a few other dishes I might be willing to try with my picky little monster.

Yelp
Take out here was really convenient and the kids loved their soup noodles! Highly recommend their Bun Rieu m, Ox Tail Pho, and Beef Stew (Bo Kho). We will be back to try their other items!

Yelp
Being Vietnamese, we might be a bit bias that it's the best cuisine haha. At @tayhosantaclara they offer a huge variety of comforting dishes to choose from and make the perfect picnic date! The server was so nice (a lady) and parking is easy! - -- -- - Suong Sa Hot Luu Nem Cuon Banh Cuon Tay Ho Dac Biet Com Ga Hai Nam Tay Ho 2047 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, CA 95050

Yelp
Came here for authentic Vietnamese noms while down in the South Bay. Efficient, no-frills ambiance. Atmosphere was busy but we were seated quickly and food was prompt. Tay Ho has an expansive menu with a number of items (eg banh xeo, woven vermicelli) that are a little harder to find. I had an excellent BBQ pork with woven vermicelli - my husband and daughter kept trying to sneak bites! My kiddo wasn't fond of the small beef meatball appetizer soup (meatballs were pretty chewy and underseasoned) but downed her mango smoothie with gusto. Husband seemed okay with his oxtail pho but preferred what he could steal from my dish. Maybe the noodles/grilled items are the way to go here. I'd be happy to return to try more of their broken rice or vermicelli plates, and to give their take on banh xeo a whirl.

Yelp
I stopped by for lunch with my family for the first time at this location. The staffs here are attentive and friendly. We walked in and was seated right away. Menu and water came quickly too. All the sauces and utensils are already at the table so we didn't have to ask for this and that. Here's what I ordered: #8 Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong #1 Fried Egg Rolls #2 Goi Cuon Banh Beo #11 Combination banh cuon #4 Iced Expresso Coffee with Condensed Milk I enjoyed all of these dishes and used up all of their fish sauce in the jar. I would love to try Banh Xeo next time! Parking was easy to find, plenty of spaces.

Yelp
It's my go to spot for banh cuon. Yummy and fast service. Nice parking lot so easy to stop by.

Yelp
This place is so delicious, like the pho is genuinely the best I've ever eaten. I like the service as well, they have a button at your table you can click when you need something.

Yelp
I came here on a Friday night and, as expected, the restaurant looked pretty busy. I also immediately noticed how loud it was inside the restaurant. I'm used to people having loud conversations, but I swear I couldn't even hear myself think lol. It wasn't enough to deter me away though, just something to be mindful of if you're sensitive to that. I waited about 25 minutes to get seated but I can imagine the wait being even longer if I was with a big party. I was a bit worried that we wouldn't be able to order right away, but luckily our server dropped off waters shortly after we got seated and took our orders. I was tempted to order a bowl of pho since it smelled really good, but I ended up ordering the #11 (banh cuon tay ho dac biet). Their generous portion and flavor was comparable to Banh Cuon Tay Ho on Senter. The eggroll really stood out to me, since it was so good and perfectly cooked. Overall I thought everything tasted really good and would come back to try their pho or get their dac biet plate again; however, I wouldn't go out of my way to visit unless I'm in the area and it's during an off-time.

Yelp
The food was soooo good. I heard this place is known for their banh cuon, but unfortunately I did not want to eat banh cuon today. So I got their mi kho tay to which surprised me to be honest! It was very flavorful with the sauce and the soup on the side satisfied my needs on a rainy day. The batter on the shrimp was also very crispy and the shrimp itself was very full. The workers are also very nice and attentive. The interior is very standard with wooden furniture. They also have an electric stove on the table usually used for hot pot, but I do not know what they use it here for. This place definitely satisfied my cravings on my trip back home!

Yelp
If you're looking for an un-PHO-getable meal rooted in authentic Vietnamese flavors and cultural tradition that will definitely impress your Vietnamese parents , definitely check out @tayho in Santa Clara! Their extensive menu consists of rich, aromatic Phở, their signature rice crepes (Bánh Cuốn), broken rice (Cơm Tấm), and vermicelli noodle bowls (Bún Thịt Nướng). I highly recommend checking out this spot for some of the BEST authentic Vietnamese food I've ever had in Santa Clara! Featured here: Phở Tài Sách: beef rice noodle soup with thinly sliced rare filet mignon & tripe Phở Đuôi Bò: rich, hearty beef rice noodle soup with braised oxtail Bún Tôm Thịt Nướng: savory mix of vermicelli noodles, grilled pork and shrimp, picked vegetables, and fresh herbs Bánh Cuốn Tây Hồ Đắc Biệt: rice crepe (filled with ground pork, mushroom, and ground shrimp), Vietnamese ham, shrimp & sweet potato fritter, cilantro, and a tangy dipping sauce

Yelp
I decided to give this place a try since I live nearby. The restaurant is a good size with plenty of parking, which is always a plus. They had a handful of options on the menu, and I went with the Bun Bo Hue. Unfortunately, it lacked flavor and had no spice, which was disappointing. The meat was okay, but I do appreciate that they weren't stingy with the portion size. Overall, it was just alright, if I'm craving a really good Bun Bo Hue, I'd rather make the drive out to San Jose.

Yelp
Stopped by on a busy Sunday. The place was packed and luckily I was sat within minutes. I was craving some vermicelli so I ordered the pork and shrimp. The food was served in a reasonable amount of time. The pork was perfectly grilled and juicy. I like that they provide pitchers of the fish sauce in case you want to put extra. It was a great bowl of noodles. The flavors were refreshing with the peanuts, veggies, and pork. I'd say I was in and out of the restaurant in about 25-30 minutes.

Yelp
Very good chicken vermicelli. Ton of protein and cooked well with an extremely large fish sauce. Great Vietnamese. Would come again.

Yelp
Who else can eat Vietnamese food everyday? Tay Ho is one of my go-to Vietnamese restaurants in the Bay Area. Whenever I'm craving banh cuon, I always come here! We ordered the nem cuon, bun thit nuong and banh cuon nhan thit. It's such a comforting dish that's filled with protein and wrapped in silky rice rolls. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. I love that they offer their fish sauce in a pitcher, so you can easily refill at anytime. The service is quick here and there's plenty of seating. I highly recommend checking out this spot for some of the most authentic Vietnamese food in Santa Clara!

Yelp
Craved Bun Bo Hue and decided to try it out at Tay Ho! Tay Ho is a no frills Vietnamese restaurant in Santa Clara and it really satisfied my craving. Bun Bo Hue had a rich beef broth and came with so many different types of meat. It didn't look big at first but I was super full afterwards. The service was also extremely fast and attentive. Definitely would want to come back and try their other dishes. Super reasonable prices.

Yelp
I came here with my brother and we ordered the Banh Xeo, Banh Cuon Tay Ho Dac Biet, and Com Tam Suon Bii which was just enough food for the both of us! My favorite is the Banh Xeo because it comes with side lettuce to make the meal feel both light and healthy. The Banh Cuon Tay Ho Dac Biet provided a good variety of appetizers, and I would definetly recommend it if you want to get a little taste of everything. My brother and I both enjoyed the egg rolls the most, especially when dipped in the fish sauce. I didn't try much of the Com Tam Suon Bii, but the meat was well seasoned. Customer service was decent, although we had to ask for water and to-go boxes ourselves. But overall, everyone was very nice. The only thing is that all entrees were quite pricey, which is expected in the Bay Area, but the two of us did pay $60 total and had minimal leftovers to bring home.

Yelp
Busy place during the dinner rush! Our friend who was with us recommended this casual spot, so we stopped by to check it out! We were pretty hungry and this place was crowded with families, but this place is large enough to accommodate! We were quickly seated in a comfortable booth. This restaurant used to be a Korean restaurant where there is a button for each table to call for waitstaff. It's convenient and they do come, so it's efficient for these busy times! Here's what we ordered: P1. PHO TAI (small) ~ filet mignon pho. My bf was starving and wanted to try a few things. This was a small bowl of pho with filet mignon. Flavorful and good but it's like most places and nothing special. 3.5/5 11. BAHN CUON TAY HO DAC BIET ~ tay ho special combination flour sheets. We ordered 2 of these! My bf and I shared one and my friend had this as her entree. Nice variety! It was my first time trying bahn cuon! Loved it! I enjoyed the ground pork filling and the yam tempura most. 5/5 41. BUN CHA DONG XUAN ~ Dong xuan grilled pork vermicelli. I honestly didn't know how to eat this! I'm used to eating cold noodles with everything in one bowl. This was a deconstructed version of that. Such a large bowl of nuoc mam! I thought it was soup at first! Eh, I think I'd rather have it the usual way. But it's nice to try something new every now and then. There wasn't much meat given. Though you get a lot of salad greens. 3.5/5 44. COM TAM SUON BI CHA ~ bbq pork chops, shredded pork, egg cake over broken rice. My bf had this order to go. He had it for lunch the following day and liked it. 4/5 If we're in the area again, I would try different varieties of bahn cuon. I think that was the highlight of our meal!
