Tbaar Bubble Tea Chain Expands to Boston’s Chinatown | Eater Boston

"A New York–based tea bar with local outposts in Brookline and Quincy has opened a third Boston location in Chinatown, taking over the former Beantown Juice and Teaspace. The menu centers on bubble teas, fruit teas, lemonades, matcha beverages (including hot matcha lattes), juices and smoothies, and concentrated 'shots' of wheatgrass, beet blends, ginger and kale, plus mille crepe cakes in matcha, mango and durian. Drinks are highly customizable—customers can choose sweetness levels and add toppings such as fresh fruit, tapioca pearls and lychee jelly—and the shop joins a cluster of other beverage spots in Chinatown while operating dozens of locations nationwide (nearly 20 in New York)." - Dana Hatic

Their brown sugar milk boba tea is great! I love the almost smoky flavor. I also like the coconut and oolong one. The taro however is made from powder.

I'd say they deserve a much higher rating than they have! The staff are super friendly and nice. The place wasn't super crowded when we went. We got the regular boba tea, octopus balls, and taro shake with boba. If you like something fresh, sweet, and boba defo try the taro shake, it was AMAZING! It was also my first time trying octopus but must say the presentation, taste and quality was excellent. Definitely got more value than we paid for. The only con would be not a lot of seating but good to grab and go!

Ordered the passion fruit tea- which was too sweet for me. The drink had some pieces of fresh fruit and jelly. The sugar level could also not be adjusted for this and some of their other drinks. Pretty standard for any average bubble tea spot— not the worst but by far not the best.

Healthy drinks as well as other types are available here. Ordered the green energy which has spinach, celery, kale, green apple, wheatgrass, etc. Tastes great and the drink actually gave me healthy energy. I don't have to go to the grocery store, buy vegetables and fruits, wash the items, clean the juicer, etc. Fast and friendly service. I will be back.

Got the large Honey Aloe Green Tea. It is soooooo good and refreshing. Perfect for hot weather. The drink is not too sweet. The toppings is good as well. Will definitely come back. Service is also quick! They are very nice.

Awesome Brown Sugar series from Tbaar Chinatown . I tried both and they were so good. I enjoyed the perfect texture of the brown sugar boba. You can get the drinks cold or cold and non-dairy milk is available. Brown Sugar Bubble Matcha 黑熊出抹 Brown Sugar Bubble Milk Tea 黑糖珍珠鲜奶 ❤️Here are some interesting facts about brown sugar: Has less calories than white sugar. It contains nutrients such as calcium, potassium, iron, and magnesium. Also, it helps to boost energy levels and prevent cold.

Great quality Bubble tea. Though slightly on the pricier side, it makes up for it with quality fresh ingredients. Not overly sweet, for some of the teas (such as Dragon fruit) they blend with fresh fruit!! I've been to countless bubble tea cafes and thought this one was above and beyond!

I've been going to this place a few times for the avocado milkshake, and more recently the avocado green smoothie. This place has gotten pretty inconsistent, one day it's nice and the next it's unsatisfactory... Don't know what has happened but my avocado milkshakes have had hard and bitter lumpy parts in the drink (they scraped the parts too close to the skin). This has happened twice. And, a few days ago the smoothie I got was really good so I decided to get it again today, but it was really bad. Not sweet and instead bitter and tasteless... As I kept drinking I kept getting feelings of hair being stuck in the back of my throat, I pull it out and there was a tiny strand of fiber (it felt like plastic). I keep drinking over a dozen more time and every time I get more of these in my mouth, it's really annoying and made me gag drinking it. I can't finish my $10 drink now... Anyways, I have no other complaints, just that this place is now really inconsistent and it's annoying to deal with. Not coming back anytime soon unfortunately. The only thing consistent is the watermelon milkshake. My old review from last year and more a recent picture (+today's updated review) is down below ↓ ↓ ↓ ---------------------------- OLD REVIEW: Literally my #1 fav place to go to! I order to go, and I've never had any major problems. My favorite thing to get is the Avocado or Watermelon milkshakes, always great and takes me back with it's nostalgic taste, smooth and creamy! kind of on the pricey side, but it hasn't changed drastically compared to my usual place. It's not crowded so the workers don't usually have anything to do, but once there's orders they're efficient and quick. Got my order just now in less than 10 mins. Thanks for everything!
