Our group of 8 showed up for lunch recently. We had a nice big table to gather around, spacious and comfortable. Our waiter took all 8 orders without writing down anything. How he could remember all those orders, I have no idea! But all of our orders came to us perfectly, just as ordered. All the wait staff was kind and courteous...very welcoming. We had a wonderful time, and everyone enjoyed their meal.

Google
This place is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants!! The food is always fast and hot! Always tastes great! The staff is always very friendly and attentive. Great place to go for some local home cooked food.

Had a nice neighborhood feel/vibe. Service was fine and the staff was friendly. No problem parking. House margarita was excellent and inexpensive. Easy to find and access. Definitely worth a try

Google
This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants. I am going to mention I have had chicken tamales from this place for a very long time. The last chicken tamale I had had LIMA BEANS inside the tamale not very good. If this is how they’re going to start making them I will not be ordering them again. Other than that, I highly highly recommend this restaurant.

Google
This place is the definition of a 'family Mexican restaurant.' Flavors are good, but nothing overpowering; meaning, your grandma would like it, your 4-yr old would like it, and you will find something that you like, too. Staff here are really friendly and engaging. So many americanized Mex places have a staff that just seem to be going thru the motions. It's bigger inside than you may think, so you never feel crowded, and they do a great job keeping the place clean. Be prepared to take home leftovers, too, because the portions are very generous...

Google
Food's always delicious every time I eat here. Staff's always pleasant, always makes sure to check up on whether or not you need a refill of drinks/chips. Main dishes come out relatively fast after ordering. Would recommend!

Google
Best Mexican food in town. I come often and everyone is just wonderful. Melissa was my our server this time she was just fantastic. Pork carnitas my favorite I get it every time. You have to ask for it cuz it's on the dinner menu. Best chips and salsa in town.

Google
Super good vibe Excellent menu-tortilla soup is the best in the northwest!! Highly recommend all the platters. Pablo, Eric and Staff are very chill. Great festive atmosphere. Huge banquet facility/room with 2 huge monitors for your next party or business meeting.

Yelp
I have to say, being gaslit by the bartender with the white devil (Jim Carrey reference) hair was a new one for me.... Equinsu Ocha hair came over and asked us what we wanted to order. I asked him which he recommended more, enchiladas or tacos Al cabron? As you'll see in the photo, Tacos Al Cabron is a plate with 3 steak or chicken tacos. Color me surprised when he sits down a plate of 2 shrimp tacos. Confused, I asked him if this was the tacos Al cabron because these are shrimp tacos. He said yes, that's correct then promptly left. So I didn't say anything and tried to eat the mediocre tacos that were filled with mushrooms and very little shrimp. I didn't end up finishing because they weren't good. Thought I went crazy for a minute until he brought the check by and it said he put the order in as "Baja shrimp tacos"....so thank you Equinsu Ocha. You are the reason I will not be getting food from your place of work ever again. Listen to your customers, have better customer service than that.

Yelp
A really nice family Mexican restaurant, and a great choice for a quick meal while shopping. It was a girl trip, with just mom, daughter and grand daughter, and we were just looking for comfort food. The staff were friendly, and always kept an eye on us. The food was great, and you get a lot of it. You really can tell that the meats are grilled up, and then sliced for your order. We had one of the better Pina Coladas with our meal that I have had in a long time. This is a nice place, and I'm glad it's close to my daughter's house. That's a nice option for a take out meal sometime when we are visiting.

Yelp
Had an excellent dish called Arroz Con Pollo. Awesome flavors melted together. My wife loved her Baja Shrimp tacos. Friendly service. We will be back.

Yelp
The Desert Fire Grill for Two was awesome as was the service and drinks. A massive improvement from our last visit. On both occasions the servers were great.

Deb V.

Yelp
Poor service added to the disappointment of Tecate. I ordered fajitas. First came the sides...7 minutes late the not sizzling meat came. Then We had to ask for tortillas...which were not fresh as the fell apart easily and also took several minutes after the meat arrived. Needless to say nothing was hot..not even warm... by the time everything was on the table. That was my last time going to Tecate.

Yelp
Service was amazing and hysterical! Drinks in the bar were fantastic! Took food to go and it was delicious!!

Susan B.

Yelp
Was disappointed with a meal. We order chicken fritatas. The chicken was a dry and stiff. It was so bad I had to ask for something to make it less dry. Usually the food is really good but not this time. Will not be returning. 0 star

Yelp
Yummy hidden gem! I got the pollo a le crema - the sauce was so good, I think they added cotija cheese to it - 10/10! We also got the tour of Mexico, tacos de adobada, and a burrito. All delicious. Drinks are good, too!
google avatar

Helen S.

Yelp
Solid food! Restaurant is spacious and airy We enjoyed everything we ordered. Just a quick dinner and it didn't disappoint

Peggy H.

Yelp
Ordered Delivery for the first and last time. I've never had Mexican food with no flavor. Like none. The chicken seemed to be canned chicken. The other dish was soggy. How old is the food is my question. Money down the drain. I've never had a sopapillo in chip form before. You live, you learn.

Julie E.

Yelp
Great food and excellent service. Would come back for sure. Queso dip was great too. All dishes were gone!
google avatar

Brenda L.

Yelp
As always, the food here is great, AND close to home :) My husband, daughter, son and I came here for a spontaneous night out. Everything was great: the roasted queso dip, the steak fajita wrap, the Monterey wrap, and taquitos rancheros. The service was fine, the food hot and delicious, and the entire experience worth every minute.

Yelp
It's been a really long time, since I was last at Tecate Grill. So long, they were still on Wellesley the last time I went. Jenna and I made it there last night and it did not disappoint. The parking lot is small and was packed when we arrived at 6PM. We ended up parking on the street. With the way the parking lot appeared, I was worried it might be super busy, but it didn't appear to be. We started off with a margarita each. The "Top Shelf Margarita" for me and the "Garden Margarita" for Jenna. The Top shelf was perfectly smooth. The Garden had a subtle hint of jalapeño spice. Our entrees were also very flavorful and filling. We both had plenty of leftovers. I ordered the Camarones Blanco which had several shrimp and veggies covered in a light jalapeño cream sauce over southwest rice. It was served with a house Pueblo salad. I liked this dish. The flavor was really great and had a tiny little kick. The dressing on the dark green romaine lettuce was also delicious. Jenna ordered the Tour De Mexico which came with charbroiled Carne Asada, Chile Relleno topped with Ranchero salsa and cotija cheese, and a chicken Southwest Enchilada smothered in a three pepper sauce. All served with southwest rice and black beans. She said the the steak was flavorful and the chicken in the enchilada was among the best she's tasted. Great place, tasty food, and wonderful margaritas. Not going to wait so long to go back.

Yelp
One of the better Mexican restaurants in Spokane. Great service and ambiance. The cheese enchiladas were great and refried beans and rice were very good as well. We've been back and ordered delivery.

Robin G.

Yelp
I have been to Tecate Grill many times! Each time I/we have been impressed with the food, the staff and the atmosphere. The staff are always friendly, polite and pleasant. The customer's are always happy and seem to be enjoying their meal. Tecate's is a wonderful place to have a great meal with staff who really enjoy their job!

Darrin Y.

Yelp
Fantastic food and great people, food and drinks are always incredible. My go to for when im hungry or thirsty, the owner is fantastic.

Becca R.

Yelp
Came here for dinner after a show. Had a chile rell and it was delish! Fast and friendly service made for a great experience!

George N.

Yelp
The food is excellent and fast service and the employees are very nice and approachable.

Mary T.

Yelp
The food was good and prices very reasonable but the owner/waiter who took my order may be the rudest person I've encountered in customer service in a long time

Tyler G.

Yelp
Amazing food and amazing service. Will sing happy birthday to your family member on their birthday. Food is amazing and HUGE portions.
google avatar

Ben D.

Yelp
food was so good, place was really clean, and our waiter, Eric was so nice and funny! really recommend

Beth S.

Yelp
Food was prompt but the cost was too high. I had a chicken quesadilla for lunch. Basically an 8" tortilla cut into 4 pieces. Over $12 plus another 2.50 for sour cream. Almost $15 for a small lunch. I assumed sour cream accompanied the quesadilla, which is normal in any Mexican restaurant I've eaten at. With the and tip, this plain lunch was almost $20.....way too much for me to consider going back.

Bethanee F.

Yelp
Whitest Mexican food I've ever had, the crème enchiladas and they were smothered in what tastes like cream of chicken canned soup, the soup was all over the beans serve with it and made them inedible. I have been having an Azteca craving lately but my boyfriend wanted to try somewhere new, safe to say I will NEVER be eating here again. I'd rather go to Azteca (which has mostly the same menus)

Yelp
The food was excellent and came out super quick however, service in general was extremely slow. It took at least a half hour to come take our order but only about 10 minutes to get our food. Then it took another half hour or so to get boxes and our checks after we had finished eating. So if you aren't in a rush, I recommend the food!

Robert H.

Yelp
We just ate there tonite, Christmas Eve. The other place we were going to go closed, so was last minute with no reservations and they were slammed. They pushed some tables together in the bar to accomodate us. The service was great in spite of being busy and being in the bar. The food was the best I have ever had there, and were are frequent patrons. They just did an awesome job. Thank you so much for saving our Christmas dinner get together.

Em C.

Yelp
Tamales! Oh man, I ordered these for my husband and ate half his food. Our daughter also devoured the beans and rice and almost an entire enchilada. I recommend the beef enchiladas. Can't wait to try more of their menu. I ordered takeout. And the gentleman helped me carry e very thing out to my car and even waited until I was there to make the drinks so he could ask if we wanted ice. Great experience!
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
Always consistently fantastic food and service! The owner and his team are top notch!!

Natalia R.

Yelp
service was okay, but food not so much. The rice tasted old, the chicken tasted weird and salad was smushy (old). wouldn't recommended it.

Corinna C.

Yelp
We either go to or order delivery from them. Never have we been disappointed. Food quality is exceptional as is the service.
google avatar

Jeff R.

Yelp
Very nice to have this spot open while still in COVID restrictions around the state. Dine in seating is limited to keep to social distancing rules so they are not able to have a regular full house. They weren't too busy though so getting a table wasn't an issue. The staff was friendly but chips and soda refills had to be requested every time. The food was very good and we enjoyed our meal very much. As we come out of COVID restrictions the prices everywhere I believe are going to be skyrocketing and this establishment was no different. Two entree's and two sodas set us back just over $40. It's going to take some getting used to the new norm in this regard.
google avatar

Vicki H.

Yelp
Exceptional service, fine authentic Mexican food, tables for 2, 20 or more. Outdoor patio. A delightful dining experience. Muchas gracias Tecate!

Hailey M.

Yelp
Probably best Mexican food I've had in Spokane area. Great service, large variety on menu, kid friendly, reasonable prices. Chips & salsa was good. My husband and I both ordered the Tour de Mexico, big portions. Also ordered a kids burrito meal and was good size portion for kid. Will definitely be back.

Alexis P.

Yelp
Service was awful we went there on a Wednesday night for dinner and the customer service was awful we had to wait and ask for items like silverware and water and the female server spent most of her time sitting at another booth talking with friends never once asked us or assisted with ensuring we didn't need anything. with the cost these days to go out with a family of 4 and get horrible service totally not worth it. stay home and keep your money vs go out and be treated so awful no thank you.

Elean V.

Yelp
This is the best Mexican food I've ever had in the city of Spokane. Everything is always fresh great tasting staff is great. I'm not surprised that they're not busy. 24 hours a day. This place is amazing every time I go.
google avatar

Camie L.

Yelp
Spectacular service on a busy Saturday night. Boyfriend and I ordered the Nachos appetizer which could easily feed 5 people for a great price. Absolutely delicious. We also had the Adovo enchilada and the Dos enchilada Crema. Very tasty and filling. All of the flavors in our dishes were on point. Will be returning.
google avatar

Ben T.

Yelp
Service was fantastic and food was delicious too. Super courteous staff. We came with 2 kids and they grabbed a booster seat and car seat carrier in about 5 seconds flat. Great experience and will be back for sure.

Yelp
We were excited to have a New Mexican Restaurant in Spokane and when we first visited the food was amazing. Sadly to say that did not last. The last two times we visited the food was subpar, the fresh and creative menu disappeared and cheap, processed food became the replacement. I love Mexican food and the best part is when it's fresh and authentic. It's just disappointing that cheap food is now being served.
google avatar

Stacia A.

Yelp
Honestly the worst Mexican food I have ever had. The fish tacos were burnt and hard as a rock. Then my daughters burrito had meat that taste close to what we thought dog food would taste like. And lastly who melts that plasticy singles American cheese slices onto my husband flatas at a Mexican restaurant?! Ive run restaurants in Los Angeles and would have never let my server take food out of the kitchen looking like our food did! And lastly the food is WAY over priced. 65$ later and no one ate their meals. They are charging LA prices for the cheap food. Probably because they are trying to cut costs. I don't know how anyone would like this restaurant. I will say the only thing that was good about this restaurant was our server. Otherwise I will not be coming back ever again.

Nickie A.

Yelp
I was so excited to eat here, I'd heard nothing but good things. So, I called a week before and reserved a spot for me and 25 of my friends (they accommodated well). Food was okay, warm not hot, but WAY over-priced! They charged me $7.18 for some guacamole (I ordered some in the side for my burrito and they gave me two huge scoops)!! The service was ugh... constantly forgetting my drink (a margarita!), which took me half an hour to even get after asking three times; not sure who's food went where; adding stuff onto our check that we didn't order and then arguing with us to get it taken off. I will be taking my 25 friends and going back to Fiesta Mexicana, where I know I'll get great service, great food, and won't be over-priced.
google avatar

Heather M.

Yelp
Really good food, giant portions. I could have shared with 2 other people. Good margarita but missing the salt. You have to ask for chips and salsa and you get one basket for free - additional chips at a fee. But still delicious food!!! And you really don't want to fill up on chips with all the food they give you.

Van K.

Yelp
Always good, that's the least of compliments you can give this restaurant. Have been going there since they were located on Wellesley Ave. and they never disappoint. Food always high quality and usually more than you can eat. I had burritos last time and was very impressed with flavor and size, so much that I ate the whole thing. I like to give credit to any place that's deserving and for Mexican food, this place cannot be missed as it's probably the best Spokane has to offer.

Lauren M.

Yelp
Amazing service with great food and drinks!! We will be back! Our server went above and beyond for my birthday and made us feel very welcome

James A.

Yelp
By far the best mexican restaurant in spokane. the food is always top notch and they don't skimp on the drinks. best service i've ever experienced.
google avatar

Ashley G.

Yelp
First time going there tonight. Super impressed! Love the atmosphere. Everything was super spread out, didn't make you feel crammed. Our server was great! Portions were huge! The food was great! A tad on the salty side. But really can't complain! Drinks were yummy! My husband and I had a great experience! Definitely our new favorite Mexican restaurant!!
google avatar

Heather S.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting. Server and staff were very friendly. We sat out on their new patio which had space heaters but it was very noisy with traffic on NW Blvd and a truck that wouldn't start next door. It was partially enclosed. They had a large drink menu, and food menu varied with shrimp, chicken and beef options. I ordered the Mexican mule, it was okay, couldn't taste the ginger beer. Hubby ordered the Mai Tai, it was bland. Food looked at good as it tasted though -- Desert fire shrimp pasta was exactly as described a spicy jalapeno cream sauce over penne pasta, so tasty I ate every bite. Tour de mexico, a little bit of everything- carbe asada, chili relleno and southwest enchilada, all were delicious.... EXCEPT THERE WAS HAIR IN THE CARNE ASADA AND BEANS!! We were with friends that knew the owners and staff and they completely ignored us in checking if we needed refills or wanted anything else including dessert. Sadly we left disappointed.
google avatar

Grant B.

Yelp
They're back!! Happy to visit the new location. We got the Verde pork and the pork chimichanga and both where great. Great service too. Can't wait to come back to the new location.
google avatar

Julie M.

Yelp
I absolutely love this restaurant! The staff is amazing, nice and efficient. The food is fantastic and their drinks are cold and delicious. We live "on the north side" and drive to Tecate any chance we get. A great Spokane gem.

Yelp
LOVE this place!! Fire Shrimp Pasta!! YUMMM! Reopened TODAY after months of remodling!!!! Corner of Northwest Blvd. and Alberta.

Yelp
Pros: -Both authentic dishes and other dishes. They have three vegetarian main courses, and a burger, on the menu. -Clean -Outdoor seating -Great service (6:30 on a Monday) -Salsa provided with chips was very good; chunky and plenty of cilantro. It was not spicy. Cons: -The house margarita I had was nothing special, rather bland. I didn't taste fresh lime juice so I suspect it was a mix - but I am no expert and that may be incorrect. It was not cheap My food: -I ordered the quesadilla with portobello and spinach (listed as appetizer). While outstanding in flavor and a nice presentation, it was a too greasy inside, too much moisture, it fell apart so I used knife/fork. Awesome flavors though! -Cole slaw that is so delicious I ordered a side bowl of it. It does not have a creamy dressing, it is more sweet-onion-vinegar-like. Lots of purple onion. -Side of slaw, quesadilla, house margarita = $20
