"Just one street over from Williamsburg’s main thoroughfare, Bedford Avenue, this stretch of Berry Street has already been closed to vehicular traffic as part of the city’s open streets program to allow for social distancing. Relatively quiet compared to Bedford Avenue, this stretch is packed full of establishments both big and small including the historic Teddy’s Bar and Grill and charming Mexican restaurant La Superior, and seems well-suited to outdoor dining." - Eater Staff

Super-friendly staff, quick service and wonderful festive cocktail menu😍 tried their hot cider and hot teddy drink, both are delicious but the first one is definitely my favorite! They have very nice decorations there now, don’t miss out if you want to dine/have drinks in a cozy new year festive place with good vibe and service!

Google
A buzzing dive bar with inside and outside seating. We preferred the inside. Good portions. Draft and canned/bottled beer , spirits, amari and frenets. Inside has a lovely tile floor and wooden ambiance. To sample the in-house sauces.

Google
The sign says it all but love the old bar feel this place gives with also having great sun light. Breakfast burrito was phenomenal as well as the Bloody Mary!

Lisa Torres

Google
Loved the food, atmosphere, everything! The fancy burger and burrata salad were delicious!

Deneeka Leon

Google
The salad was amazing and the Mac and cheese was saucy and delicious. We added bacon on ours and it added a nice salty crunch. Large enough portions for two to share or one to enjoy and have some for later.

Google
Food was great here! We ordered the Mac and cheese along with our mains which was the spicy burger and the buttermilk crispy chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious and staff were very nice :)

Google
Burger and catfish sandwich were good. Biscuits were also really tasty, super tender. Decent brunch sport in the area! Service was very quick, and there wasn’t a wait for seating when I went around 1.

The lady and I were walking down Berry street until we felt the munches. We walked right in with no wait, sat at the bar and received our food in 20 minutes. Atmosphere was fine, the salad was expensive for such a small quantity, the chicken nuggets and fries were great. Overall, I would give it 4 stars.

Yelp
Just happened to drop in this historic bar (1887; longest continuously operating bar in Brooklyn) for a quick lunch. Cozy; great service. Large beer selection and menu is pretty deep. Had a few beers and entrees were burgers, catfish sandwich, and a Caesar salad. All diners were happy... Damages for 4 with tip was $130 - not bad for NYC!

Yelp
TL:DR: Great date spot, especially during Christmas! Cute vibes for drinks Food: 4/5 Just got beers and curly fries but I'm a sucker for fries Service: 5/5 Sat at the bar, they're all super nice Ambiance: 5/5 Christmas time is where it's at, so cute

James S.

Yelp
Food: 3.3/5 Service: N/A Ambiance: N/A Value: 3/5 This review is for delivery only. I ordered delivery from the restaurant's website on a Sunday evening. Paid $50.64 for 18 buffalo wings, small mac and cheese, and curly fries; this included a $3.99 delivery fee, $3.60 service fee, and $3.50 tip. The wings were big enough, but kind of on the drier side. The fries were definitely dry and hard, so I was disappointed in those. It's a shame, since this is one of the few places in the area that offer curly fries. Later on I found out that I could have saved up to $7 money using my Dashpass membership on Doordash, but this wasn't mentioned anywhere on the restaurant's website. Altogether a pretty unrewarding experience.

Yelp
Everything was very good but not mind blowing. Tried the burger and curly fries... Very good. Service was 5-stars with just the right amount of attention not too much not too little. Ambiance is the usual for a good clean bar.

Rumi F.

Yelp
Tasty food and beer with good service- if we lived closer, we would be regulars. Stopped by on a snowy Friday night for some drinks and "light" bites (aka we weren't hungry enough to get entrees so decided to get some appetizers)- we got in around 7pm and promptly seated. They had the Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale on tap- happy to see this classic available on tap! :) My husband and I shared the lobster Mac and Cheese and Disco Tots- super filling and delicious, we couldn't finish it all so we got it to go. Fun fact, apparently it is the first place to have Brooklyn Brewery beer! I see they do brunch too, would love to come back and try.

Yelp
I have indulged in my life. Because of the degree to which I have indulged, I have to take the month of January to reset my blood's levels. And so sober January is in peak effect. This establishment has medicinal grade boigahs. Boigahs with pretzel buns and great beef with enormous amounts of tater tot's I can't finish. But management needs to cool it with the fuckin' 4 dollar soda water charge. What the fvck is that? 15 cents an air bubble? Not cool guys. Lame. Food is consistently good. And Apparently have the best bubbles in the land.

Erika C.

Yelp
Overall the burger was just "ok". The beef patty needed so much more flavor, at least some salt/pepper at the minimum. I expected a bit more from the place considering the price of the burger. The curly fries were the best part. The service was good, waitress and hostess were nice to us and I always appreciate that. I came here on Labor Day weekend so it was pretty empty since everyone in the city leaves. The ambience is ok to grab some fries and a drink with friends. I wouldn't come back for a burger though.

Oscar B.

Yelp
Delicious and fast service. Great place to people watch in Williamsburg. Pic a table by window berry street never disappoints.

Jamil W.

Yelp
Stumbled into this establishment on a cold af windy Friday night with zero expectations beyond the window scenes from the street. Sat at the bar, greeted immediately. Ordered drinks and the roasted chicken. I was not expecting to find a dish that checked comfort boxes with excellent flavor but that it did. Get the chicken.

Christine H.

Yelp
Indoor and outdoor seating Popular Good service Friendly atmosphere Tasty menu Kid friendly Affordable Food is fresh The drinks are good I was happy to see how many families were enjoying Sunday brunch. Fried chicken sandwich was delish but could use a side of coleslaw Mac and cheese is tasty and cheesy

Maor R.

Yelp
You guys must be resort spoiled in NY. Thus us top notch spot coming from Miami food standards. Hesitated eating here after the reviews. Do NOT believe the negativity. The food was excellent. Our filet mignon in red wine reduction was medium rare, exactly as requested, was plated beautifully & no joke, the onion ring on top was one of the best onion rings I've had. They made us a kale Cesar on request despite the crazy busy crowd. Homemade dressing was about as good as Cesar gets & again we'll above and beyond what any beer bar needs to serve. The artichoke flat bread had so much *fresh* artichoke instead of the crappy jarred stuff and the ricotta was excellent quality too. We loved our n def recommend. Other dishes served near us looked beautifully plated, the burgers and nachos looked especially good but I didn't try them. Next time!

Jim P.

Yelp
Had brunch here recently along with a couple of beers. Good quality food, and it popped out quickly. Very pleasant staff, and easy to pay on the portable machine. (love that!) Has been a neighborhood staple for so many years....glad to see it's still cranking it out!

Alex T.

Yelp
Teddy's is one of my go-to spots in Williamsburg. The vibe is great - you can tell it's a historic place but it's still really spacious and inviting. Service is always friendly, it's a great place for a date night or impressing out-of-towners. I highly recommend Teddy's beef burger, and they have a great list of cocktails and local beers on draft to choose from. Teddy's is 10/10, make sure to stop by next time you're in the area.

Jason R.

Yelp
First off, our waitress was great. She explained anything and everything to us about the menu. The ambiance was very cool. Trendy Williamsburg Brooklyn is the place to be. The clientele was mixed and very nice. Ordered the catfish sand which and it was very good. The fish was very soft. Cooked perfectly. Can't wait to go back. Ordered a blackberry mule and it was great. I will miss that drink.

Phil H.

Yelp
Been here for brunch with friends a bunch of times and can't believe I never wrote a review! Solid menu of comfort food items. From breakfast burritos to French toast to burgers to mac & cheese among others. Can get crowded in weekends for sure but they have a lot of outside seating which is nicely done. Good beer list. Decently priced. The service has been good the times I've been here. Also love the old school retro look with the stained glass and structure which they have kept intact.

Devin P.

Yelp
great local vibes and a rotating cast of live musicians. fish and chips are killer. Highly recommend to anybody passing through!

Gabrielle H.

Yelp
A bit disappointing. The service was great and the outdoor area was adorable. The food was subpar. My burger was obercooked and undersalted. The tatertots were fantastic tho!

Shannon D.

Yelp
My fiancé and I ventured out of our Manhattan neighborhood to Brooklyn last Friday to attend an event at the Williamsburg Hotel, and we picked Teddy's as our spot to have dinner beforehand! First off the cocktails we started with were awesome! I had the Spicy Summer Spritz, and I wanted about 10 more it was so good! Everything went together perfectly and it was so refreshing for a city evening in a heatwave! We started with the artichoke flatbread, and I learned that I didn't know what just artichoke tasted like and that it was sweeter than I anticipated. We both loved it so much! The portion was incredible and the flavor was even better! I'm definitely going to try to recreate this one, and it will surely pale in comparison to what we had at Teddy's. So good! For our meals, my fiancé had the buttermilk crispy chicken sandwich! He absolutely loved the sandwich! He got it with a side salad, which was just lettuce. Def wish there was something more to the side salad, than some rabbit food, but not enough to not give this place 5 stars. I had the lobster Mac and cheese, and since I could go on and on I'll just say, AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. Figure more people will just read that haha! We also got a pitcher of the Three's brewing Mexican Lager, which was delicious! But the compliment I want to give to Teddys is that we ordered it after our meal and took our time drinking it (I mean it was a pitcher between 2 people), and we didn't feel rushed at all! That's awesome and not so common these days!

Mj S.

Yelp
Teddy's never disappoints. Great draft list, great food, super friendly staff, good vibes inside and outside.

Connor M.

Yelp
This place is awesome! We went to check out a late Saturday brunch after walking around Berry Street and Mccarren Park and are very glad we did. We had the biscuits and gravy and chicken sandwich and both were really well done. The vibe of the restaurant was really chill and relaxed and the staff was very nice and accommodating despite being very clearly busy with a full dining room. We didn't feel rushed at all and really enjoyed hanging out and taking a break from our tourist activities. I recommend Teddy's 100%!

Farrah B.

Yelp
I came here quite a few years ago with a CO worker and it was always a nice vibe. I think we had drinks and appetizers.. This time, we met up with the bunch of friends before heading out to a club. Some people had food, burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, mac and cheese. It all looked pretty tasty. I had the steak fries and were pretty good. I perused the drink menu and the majority of the cocktais had peach in them (I'm allergic), so I had a Kentucky mule, which was not strong at all. Our servers were nice and restroom were clean, but the vibe of old Teddy's has gone away and become one with the new neighborhood.

Melissa E.

Yelp
Had a great experience at Teddy's. The environment is really cute and their espresso martini's are great! I had Kat as my server and she was so sweet and totally on top of it! She made sure our drinks were always full and the food came out on time. She was so friendly and the girl was definitely busy but that did not affect our service. The chicken fingers were also lit.

Marisa B.

Yelp
I feel ripped off. My friend and I had corn chowder last night. Corn chowder is supposed to be thick, creamy, and packed with potatoes, corn, etc. Teddy's was thin, watered down, had VERY little corn/potatoes etc., and was sweet to an icky degree. It tasted like someone poured the liquid contents of a can of industrial corn into a pot and added a few kernels of corn and pieces of potato. For $13, it's an insult.

Alexis L.

Yelp
the absolute best!! i love their house made veggie burger and curly fries. teddy's is my favorite spot and super cozy in the fall/winter!

Briana T.

Yelp
Teddys was a port in the storm for me this past Friday. I was in New York visiting a friend for their Birthday and we had no idea where we wanted to go. Choices are limited with COVID, of course, and we didn't want to visit some over crowded restaurant. I found Teddys the way I find most places, Instagram! Their IG page sported candid shots of what looked to be delicious food and a quaint atmosphere. Once we arrived we found it all to be pleasantly true! They had more than adequate social distancing standards in place. All employees had on masks and kept their distance. The menu was online through QR code for easy and safe access. I had been driving for hours and then went from 141st in Harlem to Bed Stuy at 4 pm, so I was starved. We ordered the guac and chips and honey sriracha wings. Both came out quickly and the wings were nice, hot and done well! Don't let the sriracha in the title fool you these wings are nice and sweet with just the right amount of warm heat! The guacamole was creamy and refreshing! I ordered the fish tacos as my entree. They come with what I assume is a mandarin orange slice on top which made for the perfect citrus bite to a well seasoned piece of grilled catfish. The birthday boy had steak tacos which were equally delicious. The last in our party had the bacon wrapped, cheese stuffed burger on the menu. I never tasted it but they raved about how good it was. I made them get tots as a side because I'm fat like that, and those were crunchy and satisfying too. I don't visit Brooklyn often, but this is the second time I've gone to a restaurant in the Williamsburg area this year and BOTH times were so great I'll definitely be coming back for more! EAT HERE.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I decided to go williamsburg and try a new spot and we stumbled upon Teddy's Bar and Grill. The ambiance is so cozy, chill and fun! Our server was the sweetest she constantly checked up on us and ask if we were doing okay. The food came out pretty quick, the wings were crispy just how I like them! But the bbq sauce was a little spicy and I wasn't expecting that. The chicken sandwich was so good!!! The burger bun was so soft and toasty and the caramelized onion gave the sandwich a great flavor! The curly fries were really good as well. The mac' and cheese was hugeeee two or three people can eat from that so it's definitely worth it but it was a little too cheesy for my liking. Overall, I think I would definitely come here again for the wings, chicken sandwich and fries. The people are so welcoming and attentive to their customers.

Lauren D.

Yelp
Live a block away and figured I'd pick up something quick/healthy/cheap to hold me over until dinner. Questioning whether or not this was worth $7 lol. Tastes like paper. Other than that their food is great! Brunch is amazing. $17 for 3 chicken fingers and a few fries is criminal.

Nolan C.

Yelp
A great neighborhood spot that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not. Happy Hour has some great deals -- Bloody Marys are only $5, as well as half off Disco Tots (think Poutine-ish, but with tater tots). Service is apt here and it's a place where you can sit down with someone, relax, and have a good conversation. Portions are very filling--breakfast disco tots alone were enough to fill up two of us on a Sunday morning.

Jonathan B.

Yelp
Great food and great service. Went to get a quick lunch and decided to try the buffalo wings. They were great and so were the steak fries! They had a lot of good beer there as well.

Becky B.

Yelp
Great neighborhood spot with delicious food, friendly service and ideal location. Stop in for a locally brewed beer or a divine frozen drink, a perfect burger and a few laughs

Technoburger M.

Yelp
This place is a real three of hearts. The bartender Sandy should be nominated for nyc bartender of the year and the managers are on point. 3 hearts out of the three. Will return.

Tiffany A.

Yelp
Came here on a whim last week and was pleasantly surprised! I got teddy's beef burger with no cheese and my roommate got the chicken sandwich. Nothing was out of this world but the waitress was super sweet and the tables got filled up so quickly. Glad to see NYC back in action.

Jared S.

Yelp
Stopped here after a long day of biking to refuel before the even longer ride home. As I was about to grab my phone from out of my fanny pack to search on Yelp for 'outdoor seating,' we stumbled upon Teddy's Bar & Grill (And yes, I have been rocking fanny packs back before they were cool! Wait.. they're cool right?). Despite there being a relatively decent amount of people out, we were able to get a table with zero wait. Our waitress was super quick, attentive and very chill and laid back (in a cool Williamsburg-vibe way). Bathrooms were open, which was great, and facemasks were required to walk through the bar to access them, as expected and appreciated. I ordered a Bloody Mary and Cheeseburger with curly fries and my good buddy ordered eggs, bacon and a side salad, as well as a few burger patties on the side. I've known him since Elementary School and rarely have I ever seen him not be able to finish what was in front of it and need to take leftovers to go. This was one of those rare times. The portions were pretty hardy and everything was delicious, especially the fries! I literally ate every single curly fry that was there. I mean it... I didn't let a single one fall off the plate or any go to waste. I realize now that I also didn't even offer any to my childhood friend of 28 years (sorry, not sorry). Interestingly enough, that was actually the FIRST time I've seen anyone randomly just order hamburger patties on the side, as if it's bacon or something. While my friends are weird, the patties were certainly juicy, tasty and moist. They was a good choice after all. My Blood Mary came in the proper bloody mary glass, which is always a plus. It had a really good kick, just how I like it. I actually drank it a bit too quick and had some go down the wrong way. The waitress noticed me coughing a bit and quickly came by to refill my water. Good food, cool location, and awesome service. First time at this place and it certainly did not disappoint. If you find yourself in Willy-B, check 'em out!

Steve A.

Yelp
Teddy's is okay for a bar. For a restaurant it's not anything special. The food selection is overpriced and not good for vegans. Has a few healthy choices. This can get super crowded but singles can usually find bar seats. It has a large beer selection with many from local breweries. It's a little overpriced for each of these however. The Coney Island Brewery beer was about $7 for a pint. It was good. That was still too much. As for the food, it's kind of like Applebee's. Very meat centric and vegetarian choices are thrown in to offer something. A veggie burger is on the menu. This one is not a vegan burger though. It has a good atmosphere. Plenty of TVs to watch games. The volume is at a level where it's possible to hear someone talk.

Dylan A.

Yelp
Came here after attempting and failing to secure a table or lane at The Gutter (Saturday night, we should have known!) and it turned into the perfect night. About 6 of us arrived with our party reach 9 folks by the end of the night. Our server was incredible and attentive, grabbing a chair for a friend that walked in before I could even turn around to ask. For their cocktails I had the This Is Not An Espresso Martini and First Come First Serve, both great. Also ordered the loaded nachos (doubled toppings for +$5) for the table, and those were an absolute crowd pleaser. Enough so that I also ended up ordering 6 honey-sriracha chicken wings that also were impressively good. And the vibes really are perfect inside, the best way to spend a freezing Saturday indoors with friends. Definitely coming back often.

Ben D.

Yelp
Fantastic food and drinks in the oldest operating pub in Brooklyn. I had the lobster Mac and cheese and it was one of the best I've ever had.

Jennifer E.

Yelp
I've lived in Williamsburg for 4 years and walked past this charming tavern many times but never opted to dine here. Today it's 24 degrees and myself a friend and 2 dogs could not have had a lovelier brunch on their outdoor patio. The service was fantastic. A+ personality of our server. I recommend.

Rose G.

Yelp
Went there last night and had a few drinks and some food. The place is really cute, authentic and a good atmosphere overall. Only giving it two stars because the wait staff was totally unengaged and kind of rude. They treated us like we were doing them a favor visiting their establishment and then the lowest tip percentage was 20% when their attitude didn't even merit 15%. Tip: if you're nicer to your patrons, it would go a long way.

Jennifer F.

Yelp
Nice bc you can bring you dog here, they've got little booths outside and there's heat lamps above. Wait can be pretty long but they'll text you when your table is ready. Staff were great! Got the guacamole & chips and rosemary biscuits to start. Then the hangover burger. The starters were fantastic however the burger had too much going on, sauces inside weren't great and things would fall out while taking a bite. Flavor wasn't hittin, only finished half bc I didn't eat all day.

Fritz V.

Yelp
Was in the area and passed by, saw people eating outside and their food looked amazing! Sadly...the food looks better than it tastes. Buffalo wings: wow. Amazing! Would go here again only for the wings, perfect sauce to bone ratio. I tore these off the bone. Catfish sandwich: unfortunately the bread they used was super hard and the fish was soft. I think if the fish were crispy this sandwich would make since, it was uncomfortable to eat and didn't taste great in my opinion. Fried chicken sandwich: looks amazing...taste 3/10. Whatever special sauce they put on this was not very appetizing. Customer service: I think my waitresses name was Susan and she was awesome. Overall: if you're looking for great wings and a beer, in a cool bar. I recommend. If you want delicious food all around...I would say keep looking.

Chun M.

Yelp
Top marks on a great brunch menu! The beer selection looks pretty impressive as well. This vintage bar dates back over 130 years and the current owners have painstakingly restored it back to its turn of the century charm with hexagonal tile floors, hammered copper ceilings and a beautiful oak bar. Walking through the covered entrance feels like you went through a time machine to pre-prohibition days. On a rainy Saturday late morning, we came in with a group of 10 and they accommodated us for brunch without a hitch. We shared orders of Buffalo and BBQ wings that were well sauced and the BBQ ended up being spicier than the Buffalo. The rosemary biscuits were fluffy and tasty. Across the table, we pretty much had the entire brunch menu covered. Plates of buttermilk pancakes, biscuits & gravy, spicy shrimp, eggs & grits was enough to satisfy everyone. Highlights were the Breakfast Disco Tots with 2 homemade sausage patties, smothered in mushroom gravy & mozzarella cheese and topped with a fried egg. No one walks away hungry after that plate. The Lobster Mac & Cheese Burger is another huge & hearty plate. With a thick beef patty buried under an avalanche of macaroni, cheese & lobster meat, my son was almost giddy when it arrived loaded with curly fries and cheese spilling over the sides. For a family lunch/brunch, a game day munch fest or a night of beer, wings and things, I can't think of a better bar & grill than Teddy's in Williamsburg. I'm definitely making a comeback!

Zach A.

Yelp
Not good! I asked for my burger well done and it came out nearly raw. I took a couple bites of it before realizing and the manager haggled with me over making a new one. When they finally did, it had hair in it and what looked like saliva - clearly a message from the owner for having the audacity to ask for the burger I ordered! The bathrooms were disgusting. Even worse, that same manager was in there before me and I didn't hear the sink run for even a second before they exited. I walked in and they left behind a disgusting turd. DIdn't even bother to flush. Low class place with awful food and overpriced booze. I would never recommend

Sundeep S.

Yelp
Went with 8 ppl for drinks to round out a Saturday night. Good atmosphere. Good service. Had no food but heard it was good. Perhaps next time. Go for the ambience.

Kerri V.

Yelp
Great spot in Williamsburg. Cool vibe, food is fine, drinks are good. You won't be disappointed.

Sorangie S.

Yelp
I gave in the hype about this place, the drinks were strong but not good, no balance. The food was delicious and good. The staff was awesome and attentive to us.

Julianne M.

Yelp
RE: Large Mac 'N Cheese The cheddar and Gouda deduction over al dente pastá paired with the exotic flavors of this paired down colada makes for an avant-garde spectacle.

Andrew C.

Yelp
Not like it used to be way back in the day. Beer isn't expensive but a more than it should be and the food isn't bad but it doesn't seem worth what they are charging. Great interior though, good service and you should go just for the historic bar.

Keeley G.

Yelp
I enjoy all the history at Teddys! Such a warm and inviting old school vibe. We had the loaded nachos and the tots with a fried egg on top and 'twas a delicious moment of heavy carrb loading. My lunch mate had the kale salad and ate every bite. Another in our party also had the steak sandwich. It wAs good ratings all around. Would definitely go back if in the neighborhood!

Ingrid S.

Yelp
I stepped in here a few weeks ago to kill time before a dinner reservation with a friend. Also, it was raining outside and cheap beer seemed ideal. But boy was I surprised at both the fine selection and the deals. Everything is half-priced from 4-8pm Mon-Fri. Which makes each drink like $3-4. But that includes everything on tap, bloody mary's, well drinks, wine, half-priced disco tots, and $1 oysters. Their beer selection was surprisingly impressive and they had animal trophies on their walls. It made me feel like I was almost home with both prices and the snarling bear mounted on a plaque. It's nothing incredibly special but I feel like this is a great neighborhood bar for an older crowd in Williamsburg for prices of when we were kids. They also have other cool specials. Mondays - Mystery Beer day; Tuesdays - Two for One on Burgers; Wine Wednesdays; Tex Mex Thursdays; Fish Fry Fridays; Sunday - Half Priced Apps. Industry Mondays from 8-closing, Comedy nights, Trivia on Thursdays, Dj nights on Fridays, and Jazz on Sundays. That's a lot to take in but a nice variety of entertainments. I'm totally keeping this spot in mind next time I'm in the area for a drink or burger.
